"Nothing crazy"
and then write crazy duration…This would make heal tech basically impossible.
This would also do nothing against survivors who just stand in exit gate without a reason, because they can still do it and just leave before you can hit them.
Such change would only result in free kills during endgame, where survivors are trying to leave. It's already risky to go for unhook in endgame and this would make to so much worse. If they can remove flicks and hug techs on killers like Wesker then they should remove healtechs and point techs

Historically they do not care about controller players. The elitist community will say play on mnk since its available to console. The devs know controller players are an after thought

Survivors hated 4.4 trickster and people rarely played the killer
Survivors hated 4.6 and players played him more, but still wasn't common.
Survivors hate 4.4 and people are dropping trickster, making him a rare killer, but anime skin and a meaningless flashy UI was added.
With his mediocre map mobility you're better off playing huntress
-
Dont worry, one of the hardcore elite p100 Tricksters will be like this chapter is a love letter for trickster players and was made just for them and you need to get better.
-
Visually the map is beautiful.
Gameplay wise if you are an M1 Killer or if you are a 110 MS killer you are going to have a bad time. Its so easy to lose line of sight. With five moves ahead or Windows it makes survivor an easy win, unless your team fumbles.
Not to mention how strong holding forward is. You can get hit at a god pallet, save the pallet and hold forward and odds are youre at a god pallet or a strong window.
I genuinelly don't think killer power or fun was considered in making this map

One thing I'd love to dig into more here is the discussion around The Trickster's movement speed, as I think the "why" is an important piece of this.
Is there anything specific you've encountered while playing The Trickster that makes the 4.4 m/s speed feel frustrating?
There has been plenty of discussion on this in the PTB and even Reddit.
Map traversal and mobility is the biggest issue with any weaker killers. Also, on maps like RPD, Tricksters delusion and lerys you can literally 4.4 abuse him going in between rooms. On larger maps it's worse because survivors can just hold forward and it takes forever.
This has been a problem ever since yall decided to give survivors MORE haster after being injured. The theory yall gave was to allow survivors to get to strong tiles and to prevent tunneling, but it's only abused alongside the other hand holding tools you consistently give survivors.
-
Great visual map, but its horrible for majority of killers, especially trickster 🤣

From most high level Trickster players that Ive seen, general consensus is that this is a side grade rather than a nerf. If anything Id consider it a buff now that they increased his movement speed while throwing knives. Is it much of a buff? No, but it didnt have to be. When reworking a character the main focus shouldnt be viability, it should be making the character more enjoyable all around. There was no depth with Trickster before, other than a style system that had very little impact outside of camping.
This rework was meant for his mains, and as a long time player of him I am fully satisfied
Im sure all 4 of yall are happy. Also they did it because they wanted to appease both sides, not just the elitist trickster mains.
Anyways Trickster will be rare like hag within a few weeks

Fix bugs, no buffs for killers in 2v8 imo.
Not even ghostface or slinger?
-
@Orthane said:
Most likely yes. This is one of those Fun > Performance game modes. It overwhelmingly favors Survivors but it's obviously more fun as Killer. They should not buff Killer as queue times are already dreadful now imagine if it was both strong and favored in the mode.
So they shouldn't buff the weaker and buggy killers???

It's definitely not that deep, part of it is due to time on the Community Team side, we don't always have the time to create the assets for the posts when there's other things that have priority. But the main part, was that there was barely any difference in kill rates between the different iterations - and when I say barely any, I mean less than 1%.
But you guys made multiple changes to killers, classes and had new additions? You say it's 1% but legion, wesker, nemesis, ghostface and oni never had any stats revealed?
So that 1% reasoning doesnt make much sense.
-
It was "hand holding" so it's too much, yet they are giving so many perks basekit for surivivor

There is no hand holding in ensuring all players get a chance to play other things than being chased and on hook for 4 minutes.

There are the goals they have, if you have a problem with their solution you gotta show why the goals or the solution wont follow.
This is hand holding so survivor players can "play".

This reminds me — Legion is the perfect example of BHVR’s identity crisis. Legion exists, isn’t horror, and isn’t fun — yet they’re still in the game (both 2v8 and 1v4). Why? Because BHVR can point to Legion matches (which either drag on forever in 1v4 or collapse instantly in 2v8) and say “see, survivors aren’t always the power role.” And sure, survivors could win, but most would rather give up than slog through a boring Legion match where the only thing guaranteed is frustration.
But that’s not balance, that’s bad design. Survivors don’t feel powerful against Legion — they feel bored. Killers don’t feel clever playing Legion — they feel cheap. And yet BHVR keeps killers like Legion (and others like Plague, Ghoul, etc.) as a get-out-of-jail card to deflect survivor-sided complaints. It’s a lose/lose: survivors hate it, killers hate it, and the game drags itself down.
Honestly, the solution is to admit that powers built entirely around “free injure with no counterplay” just aren’t it. At least Nurse or Blight can down you outright — playing every match as if you’re permanently Exposed isn’t fun for anyone.
I love playing against legion

If 3 gens pop on your first chase that’s a skill issue. That has nothing to do with the Anti Tunnel feature.
You would be tunneling because you misplayed. That’s not the survivors fault.
This is an issue for low tier m1s. Many survivors just run finesse. Windows and predrop

So, this rant seems barely coherent, but I'll try to respond:
if survivor are good, they Absolutely can loop 5 gen by 4 hit
Not in 2025 DbD. Maps are huge dead zones, tiles, pallets, and loops nerfed across the board.
You might've had a point in 2016 with literal infinites, but modern dbd has an average 60 seconds chase time per survivor, for the entire match.
Or, better yet, just post your gameplay of you doing this today. That should make my point for me.
The anti-tunnel is overkill to the point of being used against killers.
There is literally nothing that can be abused in this system. Elusive alone means they can't "force" body blocking.
vigil and Sprint Burst can Pull out the pallete from the void
Are you giving your survivors a 24 second break in the middle of your chases? Spring burst and vigil effects haven't changed in like 6 years (they updated the wording from vigil, but it's literally the same timing).
So, again, let's see some of your gameplay from today. That should answer basically everything pretty quickly. Although I assume you'll have to reinstall the game to do that.
If you believe blind unfiltered numbers then you must think Nurse is the worst killer in the game

Not a single one of those was a part of the QoL changes LMAO. Do you also want me to start bringing up all the buffs that the killers have gotten outside of the QoL changes? We'll be hear for another decade till I list them all. At least you proved my point that the only QoL buff that survivors have gotten is the ability to not get held hostage in matches that they''ve already lost. Mind you, those survivor perks will never become meta cause no matter what you do with perks like Poised it's never gonna change the fact that survivors need anti-tunnel and anti-slug perks in order for the game to even be playable. Killers sre getting buffs for perks that will again be meta for all the killer like CoB or for specific killers like Predator, Zanshin Tactics, Knock Out, Superior Anatomy etc
Like i said, both sides gets nerfed and buffs, i was not trying to bring this up to start any us vs them mentalities.

Lmao what? FNAF is not as popular as people are trying to make it seem, but I am genuinely curious how you got to the conclusion that BHVR has been focusing too much on the survivor experience.
They completely gutted map offerings which is something that killers have been crying about 24/7. They nerfed two strongest survivor realms with Eyrie and Badham. Survivors now all spawn together which is a MASSIVE nerf to survivors. You can now finish any match with a mori that removes any counterplay for survivors in plenty niche situations. Already decent killer perks are getting buffed. Killers who didn't need any buffs are getting them. A new top tier killer got released. Survivors can't go next in unplayable matches and can't give up to give their teammate a chance at the hatch.
And what did survivors get in return for all these changes? The abandon feature lmao.
Abandon, regression limits, face camp timer, increased haste boosts aftrer hits. You mention already decent killer perks getting buffed but survivors get that too(babysitter). I did not want to talk perk balance because both sides get nerfs and buffs.
The only thing i mentioned about perks was beginner friendly perks are nonexistant, especially free players. New"top tier killer" is now gutted. Despite map changes many maps are still unfriendly to majority of killers in the game as well(M1 Killers) -

Many long-term players are video game addicts who refuse to quit because of money spent, the game isnt fun and the game isnt what non DBD players see on tiktoks and stuff.
Tbh your whole post reads like you personally don’t like DbD or are currently just burnt out and need a break
Yes, the Game has many aspects that can feel frustrating and plenty of them are caused by toxicity - but it’s not only one side thats suffering here. And the devs improving one side doesnt mean they are biased, there is constantly coming buffs, nerfs, changes, additions to both sides; and the playerbase cant even be directly divided by these two sides as many do play both sides to some extent.
If you say so. You mentioned my whole post reads of burnout and i dont like DBD but it's entirely true. DBD is not new player friendly.

I mean killer have frustrations to deal with, but it's really not like the devs have only catered to survivors the last years. And survivors have frustrations to deal with as well, especially camping and tunneling. Honestly it's just to be expected that some players will only play for a short while and then stop playing, but I fear it will be worse on the survivor side than the killer side.
I genuinelly feel camping and tunneling seems like an issue because people watch videos from content creators "effortlessly" running killers for multiple gen, and when players attempt themselves they cannot. There have been many anti tunneling buffs including absurd ones like to babysitter and the haste after hit.
Also, the playerbase throws around camping too much. Majority of camping and tunneling complaints arent true complaints -
The DBD forums are an echo chamber like reddit. The survivor mains here will deny. They want you playing like a bot and being an m1 killer chase simulator.

Don't confuse goals with absolutes. Not every killer is going to hit 60%, not every segment of survivors is going to hit at 40%. It is not the only metric they use for health of the game (despite how people talk about it).

They never showed the full roster.

The point is we shouldn't be balancing killers around tunneling being the way they do things. We would then be able to buff said killers to be able to perform well while actually doing the things that are fun.
The devs refused to acknowledge this with the prior nerfs to sbtfl, regression limits etc. What you're saying is delusional thinking
-
@Reinami said:

Basically the way i would do it is.
- Killer hooks a survivor
- Survivor is unhooked
- They get this buff that makes it so they can't be hurt by the killer in any way, but they can't do anything. Probably make them even invisible to the killer, no collision, etc.
- After 32 seconds, that buff expires, and the survivor is fully healed and now able to interact with the game.
Basically, these doesn't lose total time for the survivors, because to heal a survivor who is just unhooked, both survivors have to interact for 16 seconds which is a total of 32 seconds . But now, you basically automate that healing interaction, kinda like the medkit addons for example. But during that time, you know the survivor can't be working a gen. So the survivor who unhooks, can just run back to a gen and not "waste" time healing.
So the total time spent off a gen is still the same, but its all put on that 1 survivor, and it is forced. This also prevents them from "tunneling gens" by just ignoring healing for example.
I'd also throw in reworking the AFC mechanic, to just teleport the survivor on the hook to the hook that is closest to the survivor that is furthest away from the killer. Similar to PH/2v8 cages. That way if it happens that survivor should almost always have enough time to unhook them before the killer can come after them again, thus rendering them invulnerable for that 32 seconds.
Major nerf to m1 killers
-
Ingame HUD already killed Mirror myers build, you KNOW when people are in chase so you're good to pop gens and heal.
Mirror myers Is only good vs inexperienced survivors anyways.
-
IT was worst, content creators would queue with friends on new accounts to bully baby killers for content

Let's face it dbd cannot be competitive no longer because survivors will never let the killer side have nice combinations, no perks have withstood the test of time for killer so let's keep it that way with an easier going system and end the drama.
Dbd has never been comp worthy. I know thats rough to hear, but its a game that, by design, cannot be balanced in a way that is 'fair'.
Why?
This is a party game and they continue to develop it as one. Some will argue its pvp regardless, and it is! Its just not balanced or fair pvp. The sooner the comp scene understands this, the better for all. Until then, this is what we got :/
Dbd is not a party game the devs atated on many lives it's competitive. Also at the start of dbd you couldn't even play with friends, what type of party game does that
-
@Hanuka5 said:
It's clear by design that killers cannot go for at least more than 5 to 6 hook states throughout a trial
Why is that clear? BHVR once said dbd is balanced on a 60% winrate for killer what means 7,2 hookstates on average
It actually made sense with hook grabs and camping to balance out survivors holding gens in areas that obviously the killer could do nothing about.
I mean i play mainly killer and im not sure what you are talking about. When you proxycamp the hook you can still allways trade so get another suv. at the hook. With "hook grabs" the suv. could not do this trade and if they are unlucky you had 2 people on hook. "Hookgraps" rewarded a playstyle (camping) that was not fun for anyone. It was the same ######### as hatch, standoffs where you have to guess the right moment when hes trying to rescue to grap it.
Yeah and they continously nerf killers under the 60%
-
The thing is, once they nerf thrill people will go right back to complaining about gen regression /aura.
Totems are supposed to be these powerful perks, yet they're treated like a joke. Once they revert it it's right back to the same thing.
Yes totems deserve love but looking at the state of the community if anything gets loved people will complain, and once content creators come Into the mix to farm views from rage bait then it's over.
I've barely encounter thrill but the games I do I've won either my swf. I know I don't speak for the majority but these thrill hate posts exaggerated and alot of it is from content creators.
