  • even if distortion is unfun to play against it’s not an unhealthy perk or an unbalanced perk

it’s just a perk that reminds you that it exists and that you shouldn’t always rely on aura reading

sometimes you gotta do it the hard way

  • @tea said:

Just curious to see who everyone's mains are out there. There's always a survivor/killer for someone. :)

I main Kate, Felix and Cybil for survivors and Demogorgon for killer. Kate and Felix are the most aesthetically pleasing characters in my eyes and have some great cosmetics. Cybil was always my favorite in SH and her screams are just the best. Demopuppy was the first killer I really latched onto and got a lot better at playing over time. I was lucky I had one of his gooey cosmetic set before the license ended too.

    Oh cool another Cybil main

I mostly main Cheryl and all her legendary skins and mostly because I love the silent hill trilogy

and for killer i main wesker and pyramid head (and used to formerly main hillbilly before the 2020 nerf)

wesker because he’s fun to play his dashes are cool and he reminds me of old hillbilly and he’s also skill awarding

pyramid head: mostly because he’s by far the coolest killer in the game and has the coolest m2 ability and I love silent hill

and hillbilly: the old one was much much better and recently I tried playing him and was disappointed with how he was functioning so I just decided to not play him again cause he rlly isn’t like he used to be

  • Is it actually reportable? Had a game a few months back where a legion was able to kill 2 of my teammates and took forever to catch me cause he kept hitting me with his feral frenzy and going into fatigue state multiple times

meanwhile my last teammate alive kept moving around the map with urban evasion cleansing totems back and forth and didn’t touch a single gen

that match was about 40 minutes long because of that

OG Freddy with Adjustments would be much more interesting and unique than the current one for sure.

Agreed I’d probably love going against that Freddy again but with some adjustments to his power so self-care doesn’t become his no.1 enemy again

  • @Emeal said:

Sorry, you can join the Old Freddy fan group though, tell them to reserve seats for the Old Skull merchant players and soon Old Myers.

If you think about it there’s probably gonna be 2 types of “I miss old Freddy” users considering Freddy is also getting a 2nd rework as well

  • Just use the DS and DH combo

hopefully the killer won’t think about dh after he got hit by DS…. or try getting downed near a pallet for better luck

  • Love the idea

and that would be awesome having a foggy weather on midwich

  • Yes

    Please run calm spirit

I need an excuse to have devour + thrill + undying in every game

  • As someone who runs soul guard in every build of mine

    no

even if the perk rarely gives value that doesn’t mean it should be basekit it could mean that it needs a buff since it does feel like the perk lost it’s value ever since the hex metas died

  • Would rlly love if they do more indoor maps or even expand certain realms

like the silent hill realm could srsly have some potential with maybe an alchemilla hospital map cause I feel like it would be a fun map to have in dbd

and we only have one hospital map so it wouldn’t hurt to have a second one

  • Either badham or midwich

badham is easily my favorite map aesthetically in the game (aside from how it’s a bad map for killer)

and midwich cause silent hill my beloved!

  • Yes basically anyone in the boons range recovers faster from exhaustion, hindered, blindness, exposed and other status effects faster

  • Awhile back I remember seeing a rework idea for the boon where it works like the perk “vigil”

  • Awhile back I watched a badham looping guide and what I’d assume too much rng and possiblities so the devs decided to make multiple versions of the map for these reasons most likely

Give me your pick and a fanmade one. I am currently working on a fanmade project, so I'm all for that stuff.

Ghostface’s terror radius has something unsettling about it everytime I hear it…followed by the fact that it randomly goes off making you wonder whether he’s stalking you or did he leave you?

But this is probably the best dbd terror radius (yes it’s fanmade but it’s actually rlly well made) https://youtu.be/Dv-QtyRfyvg?si=1DkYumY2a8rGwX6D

  • What if we do the “noed treatment” to this perk

basically once one survivor is dead the hex totems aura is revealed to all survivors instead of the totem self destructing

  • @[Deleted User] said:

Dredge. But Nurses' theme has creepy vibe at the beginning.

No joke but I think what makes it scary is when the person playing nurse decides to not use the blink at the beginning of the match and instead walks towards you for the sole intention of making you hear the terror radius for the whole “element of surprise” value and that you’re going against a nurse and you haven’t heard any blink noises when the match started

  • I’ve played wesker a few times and no he does have cool downs and his techs (which I also find unfun to play against) are nearly impossible for me to do without becoming a laughing stock

and on top of that wesker is the most balanced killer in the game he’s literally what nurse and blight should’ve been when they were created

  • Does dbd fanmade content count by any chance?

  • The whole purpose of a conspicuous action was to ensure that you’re no longer getting tunneled/not in chase with the killer after being unhooked and I don’t see how is dropping pallets and using a flashlight should be considered one? You’re evading the killer when dropping pallets and using flashlights and I don’t rlly think body blocking should also be considered a CA I mean yeah it’s pretty much a survivor consenting to being tunneled but from my pov just hard tunnel them I mean didn’t they ask for it by bodyblocking? And on top of that wouldn’t this technically be abused by some killers? I mean don’t wanna deal with decisive? Just instantly hit the unhooked survivor and the game just rendered it as a protection hit and their DS deactivated

  • Pyramid head cause he’s literally the main reason I got into this game after dodging it for 4-6 years

It sure does, during chainhunt you basically cannot work on gens and if you keep it going it makes the gen regress every time you get hit by a chain, sure it is not as strong anymore, but it still works fine.

I mean it is nice to have a hex that’s ensuring gens are being regressed 24/7 until it’s cleansed but I’m still not a fan of how it self destructs when you do 1/4 out of your main objective

atp just use pain res (like yeah 4 max uses aren’t that good but atleast it benefits you for the majority of the trial) or any other gen regress perk like PGTW

  • @SweetLikeDonut said:

So we can all agree that cenobite has a lot of pressure, right? I want to maximize that. I dont care if its a good or bad build, I just want to build up pressure and control the game as much as possible. I want a build that irritates survivors and can pressure them to the point of making mistakes they usually dont make.

No, I do not aim for a toxic build, I aim for builds that best suit their respective killers.

And here comes my question: which killer perk pressures you the most?

I am not asking for your most hated killer perk, I am not asking for the perk that annoys you the most, I am simply talking about pressure.

Thanks in advance and have a good one.

I think it would be devour hope that’s the most oppressive perk I go against

    1. you can’t go for hook saves if the perk reaches 3 tokens
    2. you can’t see the totems aura which could have some impact
    3. it allows you to mori any survivor if you reach 5 tokens
    4. pair it with undying and try to keep the chain hunt going so nobody can cleanse the totem
    5. (optional) use ultimate weapon so you can reset a survivor cleansing the totem if they’re on it (and there’s also thrill of the hunt which makes cleansing much slower if a survivor has Calm Spirit)

I guess something like Sloppy Butcher and DMS? So if there is a chain hunt you cannot really do much? Maybe with Ruin undying instead of DMS? And then you need to keep the chain hunt going?

I don’t think ruin undying works anymore especially with the nerf ruin got last year which makes it self-destruct once a survivor is dead by any means

To play devil's advocate (admittedly based on my somewhat out of date knowledge of the show, I never finished it), I don't think that's strictly accurate. The Winchesters aren't typically portrayed as having inherent powers or strengths that would help them in the Fog, outside of season-specific gimmicks like Sam's demon blood... whatever it was, or Dean's Mark of Cain.

They're typically portrayed as being legendary hunters due to their planning, tools, and support network, only one of which they'd have access to in the Entity's trials. They don't have their car-trunk of weapons, they don't have their big fancy bunker, they can't call for support, they don't have their power-creep swords-that-kill-anything... they're alone, stranded, and unequipped.

It'd be somewhat like Dean's stint in Purgatory. He didn't take over, become top dog, or kill a god during that time, he just survived. Lacking tools, lacking support, and constantly on the back foot, the Winchesters would be seasoned and veteran survivors to be sure, but they wouldn't power-creep other licensed characters.

    They still have plot shield

    show ran for 15 seasons

15 seasons of the 2 of them dying and then getting resurrected over and over again or pretty much the 2 of them just getting some luck where they don’t die

and on top of that I already know they’re just gonna be skins cause there’s no way they could be “lore accurate” in the game cause that would be unbalanced for the game I was just making a joke about how powerful the Winchesters could be if they were in dbd

the only thing I’m expecting from a supernatural chapter in dbd (if it ever happens) is probably 3-4 busted survivor perks if the devs wanna make something “lore accurate” of the Winchesters

They would be too OP they would hunt and find way to kill the entity. They beat chuck so there is no-one they can't beat.

Lmao I always thought of it like that

these guys would unironically kill the entity 😭

just image if their teachables were accurate to the show

  • I never read perk descriptions so I just equipped any random set of perks I had in my loadouts and that was it until I started watching YT content and then started to understand how perks work in the game

  • Quality of matches

i get moried at 4 gens because of the teammates I get queued with so yeah I’d rather have an alternative to the games SBMM

  • I barely play as her cause I randomly switch between the silent hill legendary sets and whenever I play her it’s a guaranteed win everytime… that’s clearly p2w

    /j

  • Cybil Bennett is the most pay 2 win character in this game from my experience

  • So “boon: bond” basically?

  • We’re never getting these 2 guys as survivors altho imagine what their teachables could be if we ever get them as characters

  • I call it the “silent hill build”

    it consists of

streetwise, soul guard, premonition, and repressed alliance (sometimes I replace RA with pharmacy)

basically the build works in a way silent hill games work

streetwise: because when playing silent hill you should wisely consume items

soul guard: it has the seal of metatron from silent hill on it

premonition: it basically works like the radio in silent hill which whenever you walk towards the killers direction the radio starts making alert noises

repressed alliance: basically Cheryl/Heather in silent hill 3 has some kind of power which she can bond with the supernatural

pharmacy (optional): finding health items like in silent hill mostly

I just came up with this build after watching online a few online lore accurate build tutorials

It isn’t in OTR’s description because it’s a rule for Endurance in general - any Endurance effect is canceled by conspicuous actions, even if it came from something that has nothing to do with anti-tunnel. They do not cancel OTR’s other two effects however, so you’ll still see the perk active for the full 80 seconds even if you lose your Endurance.

    Ahhh that makes sense

cause I often run soul guard and would notice the endurance gets cancelled whenever I get up and heal a teammate so now that makes sense why it cancels

  • @Akuivxii said:

You're right, it does say so at the bottom of Decisive Strike's description, just not for Off The Record's. I'll put two and two together and keep in mind that anti tunnel perks are affected by conspicuous action if the game doesn't happen to mentioned it.

Thanks again and have a nice day!

Np! And same goes to ya :D

I know many think the boons may be over powered, but I’d like to see more boon perks.

One idea I had was, a 1 time use boon that is snuffed after it’s used that grants an additional hit, similar to MoMs additional hit.

Even a boon that causes a killer debuff could be interesting. I’d just like to see more boon options for survivors.

I saw this concept before for a supernatural chapter concept where there was a boon perk idea called “devils trap” and it worked exactly like how the devils trap ritual worked in the show “supernatural”

  • @Akuivxii said:

Thanks for clearing that up DONN1ED4RK0!

I wish this is further clarified within the anti tunnel perks' descriptions, otherwise they don't really work as descried.

No worries! And I think it’s written usually at the bottom of the perks description

like at the bottom of decisive strikes description it says a conspicuous action disables it

but I’m not sure if the same thing is in OTR’s description altho it does get disabled when you do a conspicuous action

  • I want a supernatural chapter

Sam and Dean Winchester would rock as survivors in dbd

  • @Akuivxii said:

Hello LapisInfernalis. Thanks for getting back to me.

I was mid healing a fellow survivor before the killer interrupted and downed me while the perk was still active (I was not hit by the killer prior/the exit gates were not powered yet.)

Does healing cancels off the endurance status effect? even when not fully healing yourself or another survivor? I'm new to using Off The Record and maybe there are well known repercussions to having endurance which doesn't normally need specifying, but the perk's description doesn't mention that working on totem/gen/heal would cancel off the effect.

Any conspicuous action cancels anti tunnel perks cause it detected that you’re no longer getting chased/tunneled

  • Plaything is fine on its own (without pentimento) and as someone who dropped spine chill ages ago ever since it got nerfed i have no problem with plaything cause now every killer is almost the equivalent to ghostface and myers for me

and also I bring soul guard cause it gives you infinite unbreakable when cursed by a hex totem

  • @Devil_hit11 said:

the whole point of vigil is to use 2 exhaustion perks in a single chase. It is just that numbers of vigil is like 40 second vs 30 seconds. it is way too ineffective at giving you two exhaustion triggers per chase. you need to walk a long time. If it was like 50% which is like 26 seconds then vigil would be strong chasing perk.

right now it is nothing more then gimmick perk.

That’s fair but still it’s quiet nice running it with other perks like deli or even making a build around the perk vigil itself

  • @GolbezGarlandGabrant said:

Never knew Vigil worked with Second Wind. I used to run Vigil with Dramaturgy when it first came out/

Although rare, I like Vigil for those anti-Exposed perks like Haunted, MYC or Starstruck.

Correction: turns out it doesn’t work with second wind

  • @AmpersandUnderscore said:

You could make self care into a boon, with a slightly faster heal speed to compensate for the blessing and travel time.

That might be good enough that people would voluntarily do totems instead of gens at the very start of the game.

    We had that before…..

  • Unbreakable + soul guard + tenacity + flip flop

plot twist + soul guard + flip flop + power struggle

flip flop + tenacity + power struggle + smash hit

unbreakable + soul guard + flip flop + boil over

or to conclude these build concepts

    I love meme wiggle builds

killers barely expect them which makes them even funnier to run

    BONUS

    Silent hill 3 build

    Streetwise, premonition, pharmacy, soul guard

First of all - there is not such thing as "Basekit Blight with Add Ons". Blight is Basekit when not using any Add Ons or not Basekit when using Add Ons.

The thing is that there is quite a difference between a Blight using Add Ons and one not using Add Ons. Because he has A LOT of really, really good Add Ons. This means two things - first of all, you can have lots of builds and second because you have so many good Add Ons, it is unlikely that you ever run out of them.

Other Killer sometimes only have a handful of good Add Ons. E.g. Pyramid Head really only has Range Add Ons which are good, the others are not really worth using. Blight has - Compound 33, Compound 21, Alchemist Ring, Adrenaline Vial, Blighted Crow, Blighted Rat. Those are not only way more than e.g. Pyramid Head, but they also cover a bigger variety and are stronger (compared to what they do, adding a bit of Range is nothing to refilling all Rushes if you land a hit or making you very fast).

Also, Add Ons remove Counterplay. E.g. Alchemist Ring... The best outcome for the Survivor is to dodge 5 Rushes. The second best is to dodge 4 Rushes. But if the Killer has Alchemist Ring, it does not matter if you dodge 4 Rushes or none. Same with Adrenaline VIal - instead of dodging up to 5 Rushes, you have to dodge up to 7 Rushes AND he has them back in half the time it would need normally.

And on top of all of that - every time a Killer Add On gets nerfed it is actually laughable that Blight can get away. I mean, they nerfed Marvins Blood (which, to be fair, was or still is the best Add On of Nemesis) before touching Blight. They even nerfed Add Ons from weak Killers like Clown...

So yeah, Blights Add Ons are problematic and one thing where almost the whole community agrees on that they need changing.

    Ahhh

    Alr thank you!

  • @sizzlingmario4 said:

Simply put, he has several very powerful addons that make him a lot stronger. Basekit Blight is a strong but balanced killer. But his addons add so much power to him that he becomes too strong.

With his strong addons he can move much faster while using his power, have more rushes, instantly gain rushes back after a hit, break pallets near instantly, see survivors' auras while using power, etc. They just add a ton of power to a killer that doesn't need it.

    @Rulebreaker said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3561631#Comment_3561631

We're not the best at explaining either so don't worry

Without add ons most agree that he's fine because he has what amounts to interactive play thats fair on both ends. He's got mobility and a second way to hit, a CD and condition so he can't spam or abuse his power, and remove obstacles quickly. Survivors can play around his power as well by reacting or through the environment so it's not hopeless for them and they're interacting with the killer more in depth.

With add ons effectively "plays" the same but add ons reduce or remove most the "fairness" of the base kit.

A blight main could probably explain it better but this is the best we got

Alr thank you both of you for the answers! This was interesting to know about basekit blight!

  • @Rulebreaker said:

The general chatter (surprisingly from both sides) is that all his add ons are really good and turn him from balanced into op (this is a largely diluted translation from our brains mind you). EX: "Both speed add ons make it impossible to react".

For what it's worth, we personally don't give a damn about his add ons and only think they need looked at because both sides are agreeing.

Yeah I’m aware that his addons are broken as people say they are…but how does he function like without addons….. I’m sorry if what I’m saying doesn’t make any sense btw

All of the Killers that don't have maps should get one

I also kinda want to see a City map (Huge) for the fun of it

Yeah I swear many killers in this game have some potential to have a map with their chapters that could fit their character/backstory

I wanted a map for the blight like a blighted dimension or something like that

So is it safe to assume that you are a Silent Hill fan???

Yes…. But I enjoy other types of horror games…. It’s just silent hill is what comes when I think of new maps to be added into the game

  • Maps

I’m adding a lot of maps into this game

idc if there’s a new OP killer, OP perk, OP addons or even new concepts

I just want more maps into this game

here are some maps I want added into the game

    alchemilla hospital from silent hill

lakeview hotel from silent hill 2

the amusement park from silent hill 1&3

and uhhhh more maps just more and more and more maps either from silent hill or just made up maps until I can’t count them

maybe uhhhh the town of silent hill itself as a map

    ok enough silent hill maps

maybe uhhhh idk what else to add to the game…. But I want more maps either silent hill or just new maps in general

i just want new maps added into the game cause now it feels boring whenever I spawn on any maps I’m used to and I’d rather feel like there’s a MASS variety of maps

1 … 11 12 13 14 15
