Some ppl enjoy this game by playing sabo build and it's not entirely swf thing (but it's true that it works in SWF much better). If you take a toolbox and killer decides to go for your hook (and he does not have iron grasp, agitation, ...) and you are fortunate to be on some hook-sensible map (so no saloon or game or some other hook-dense map), then you have a chance to actually pull it off. Sometimes even without getting hit.
But it is true, that there are a quite a few maps that are way too hook-dense (killer can down survivor exactly in the middle of 3 hooks (longest path), decides to go for your hook, it gets saboed "to his face", he can still turn around and decide to go for NEXT hook and make it in time even if you take a hit).
Thank you for constructing a comment that actually offers some insight to my post. Most people just come here to berate or troll and its sad.

You're not supposed to easily wiggle off without any help. That's why there's perks like Boil Over, Flip Flop, and Break Out. Wiggling is also optional, if you're not a fan just don't wiggle.
None of those perks help even in the slightest. Boil over is so easy to counter its laughable, Flip flop only does something if you are playing against a killer that is slugging, and break out only works if you are willing to down yourself by getting hit twice to help someone get off the killers shoulder. Maybe try all these perks out before suggesting that they are useful in anyway.

@SuzuKR said:
You realize you literally are not meant to wiggle off without a lot of help, right? You went down, why the hell would the killer be punished for getting a down lmao?
When you watch a killer walk by 2 hooks and manages to hook you on the next one there is something fundamentally wrong with the mechanic and needs changed.
-
@Crowman said:
So you want to be taken into the basement every single game?
Sure if you want to waste time walking from one side of the map to the other. Just make the killer slightly slower when carrying a survivor and that fixes the issue.

If you're just starting, whatever the current meta is. By the time you finish unlocking it, half will be gutted and replaced, so if you're grinding more casually you'll never catch up anyway :)
This is so true. DBD is one of the only games I know of that actively pushes new players away.

For new players, who do you all recommend they prestige first for perks?
Figured it'd be a good idea for anyone coming in.
As a new player your gonna have to spend money or grind for hours to get the best of the perks that are locked behind a pay wall. Right now if you want to secure a 4k almost every game go for any perks that slow down generators. Onryo has a few good ones like call of brine or merciless storm.

Well 6.1.0 did have noticeable impacts. I don’t know what you consider “big” but it looks like kill rates have gone up about 8% or so overall, Dead Hard and BBQ and Chili are both used about half as often, Legion and Plague suddenly became popular (although with the Thana nerf that might change again), and Overcharge and Off the Record are now among the most popular perks where before the patch they had almost no usage at all.
And the upcoming patch with Reassurance is probably going to shake things up a bit again.
Where are you getting these numbers? Also survivors shouldn't have to waste a perk slot to fix something that should be fixed via base kit.

Peeps like you make me sick

Fair right 😂. Play some soloq and we will see if you still think the game is fair.
-
You are 100% wrong. For example, if someone goes up on hook having comms or other information would help because the other three players wouldn't stop doing their gens, chests or whatever else they might be doing at the time to go for the unhook. Communication is key to winning any multiplayer game. Just watch any pro tournament. Imagine the chaos that would ensue if they didn't have some form of communication.

I just had someone kill them self on hook last night because I hit a nice huntress hatch 30 seconds in.
On a positive note the 3 left were awesome and I ended up letting them do gens and leave but they didn't want to they stayed and gave me the kills.
They should give you the kills. Killers letting survivors go skews the numbers that devs look at to determine kill rates.

All the problems with solo queue can be boiled down to skill issue or entitlement.
I think its funny that the community and the game itself pushes away new players by just telling them to get gud. A majority of players in soloq are new or casual so stop trying to kill the game by alienating them and trash talking their skill level.

It works, and I've had a lot of matches recently where no one brings boon and no one will heal me off hook. Why all the hate? Post-game chats are aimed at me when we lose ONLY because I run it apparently, nothing else ruined the game for them. "Wow... you ran self care? No wonder we lost...". Really? Self care actually saved my life more games than not, are people just too proud now to use it? Yeah it's slow to use, but it's more reliable than my teammates sometimes.
If I were you I would update the main post to let people know you are using botany also. People don't read other comments before posting their responses and you would get less negative responses all around. There is nothing wrong with running self care especially if you have botany and if no one is healing in the first place.

People have different definitions of playing the game. People should understand that being on hook is part of the game. No matter what their definition of playing the game is though.
Funnily enough. The agreed on fun thing in this game is being chased...Yet people hate "tunneling" Which is literally being chased by the killer.
You don't actually believe that people don't understand that being on the hook is not part of the game. We all know at some point we will go up on a hook. Being on the hook for an entire match should not be part of the game. Also, being chased can be fun but when you are targeted to the point where you have no chance after getting unhooked the chase is no longer fun it just becomes aggravating. Being chased and being tunneled are two totally different things and I'm sure you know this and if you don't then go get tunneled for multiple games in a row and you will see the difference.

Being on the hook is part of the game. You are still playing the game. It's no less boring then holding m1 on a gen. It's no less boring then survivors spending 2 minutes at exit gates tbagging if you don't come push them out. It's only a problem because it's not working out in your favor in that situation.
except you gain nothing from being stuck on a hook to a face camper. At least working on gens you get some bp. If you are the first on the hook and get camped the entire match you get nothing, no fun or bp.

There is a thing i don't get, survs complain about being "casuals who can't play", but here, i wonder where they were when i played before the patch, from my perspective "casuals" barely even existed.
This is why i have true doubts about them simply being "casuals".
Paradoxaly, after the patch, i seem to effectively go against a way much casuals, wich is great ofc, more fun.
This make me conclude there isn't that much casuals, or there is a bunch BUT they got too much babysited with overpowerful perks.
Also, there is complains about "bruh, i need to choose the same perks to have a chance to escape, 50% of the survs perks are trash tier blahblahblah"
Dude, you REALLY think it's different for us killers ? that's exactly the same ! I plead for now years for a total rework of the perks system, there is a way too much perks, they multiply over time, and we are still at 4 perks slots, what's the point ? Having 3k perks, most of them being useless because not good enough or just because they are factualy useless ? but still 4slots ? I also plead for special slots reserved for hex, even if they nerf the hex, at least, loosing "hex perks" in less than 30sec is not going to be a huge concern anymore, and it offer more gameplay to survs and killers.
Just cut the number of perks by half by combining them, end of story.
Well the numbers tell a much different story. There are way more casuals in this game than SWF, a simple google search will show you that. Casuals keep the game going because when there are only at max 6% SWF teams playing at any time you are running into casuals or soloq. Soloq is a terrible experience for anyone right now and most that play solo are casual.

Yeah, just try to find some friends. Get into chat parties with strangers on dbd. Seems like a really good idea. Don't worry about your ip address on a game where people threaten to kill each other in real life. No worries, right? Can't wait to get s watted for not healing someone.
I just don't understand why people think that everyone wants to be forced to get into a group with others. Sometimes I like to play solo because it's quiet and easier to think. Unfortunately haven't been playing much lately because soloq is a disaster area.

You do know the reason, why're you asking? Because only losers do give up early.. And to be honest, those people should stay away from social networks and online games aswell.
If you do care about the quality of your team mates, do play SWF; Sure, it may be a pain to search for the optimal team or group of players, but you can do it. The fact that you're excusing yourself for your own mistakes kinda puts you into the same category as those, who do Self-Care in the corner of the map. As always, neither me or you can claim that it's a bad strategy, as it's dependable on the situation you're in.
Unless you do present a clear case scenario, I'm ready to argue as to why using Self-Care is a good strategy when it comes to Solo Queue; Of course, I don't like using the perk alone, I'd always pick Botany Knowledge when I'm at it.. Maybe even Desperate Measures.
So by your logic they should just do away with soloq and everyone should have to find people to play with? Just trying to understand the logic here because most people that play this game are solo players.

Dead by Daylight should have been dead 10+ times already if every update kills the game and every change that some people dont like.
Yea except this one is different. 12k players on steam left last month. How many do you think this month will leave? You can bet that new and casual survivor players (which make up most of the player base) will not stick around to lose to bad killers every game.

I'm telling people who are not currently enjoying the game to stop playing instead of rage quiting their matches.
Survivor queues don't need to be diluted with people who have no intention of playing the match out.
If people are quitting its because this game is terrible for solo casual and new players. Like I said killers will be stuck with nothing but SWF here soon and then they will back to crying on the forums until the devs give in and give the killers another major buff. Why should anyone stick around in a game if they know its a loss?

Man this community is really trying to kill the game or just make it so killers are only playing against SWF. Keep telling people to not play the game and new players will stop coming because they wont feel like they even have a chance to get good at the game. Casuals will stop playing because you keep telling them they suck at the game. This game is gonna die now and its mainly because this community and game is terrible to new and casual player.

I used to blame Dc'ers. When I played in Swf's, I would instantly stop talking to a teammate if they ever quit mid-match and remove them as a friend. They would complain that the game was now too killer-sided with the new update and I would just pass this off as whining and bad sportsmanship.
Problem is, survivors are DC'ing for a reason. The latest update was hard on survivors. It actively sought to make the game more boring for them by increasing generator time.
It doesn't make sense to blame people for not doing generators when generator time has increased. It doesn't make sense to blame solo queue teammates when survivor perks have been nerfed. It doesn't make sense to blame people for quitting when the game has become completely unplayable and not fun at all for them.
Killers getting mad that survivors wont stick around to give them a 4k. Its funny really.

No its survivor sided, you dont need to be in a swf to be good... if you have to rely on coms are you actually good?
Solo Q sucks because you get DCs and teammates completely different mmr to you that cant even do a gen or skill checks.... but that dont mean 4 good solos still cant easily win.
The higher you go in mmr the more survivor sided it goes and it's why killers like nurse and blight are used to try have a chance.
You cant say the games not survivor sided because people are bad and cant play, survivors have all the tools to make most games in their favour it's up to them to utilise it.
This community does not accept new players at all. People keep saying that its because survivors are bad but everyone starts the game not knowing how to loop or effectively get away from the killer. People like you kill these games because you exclude any new player and just tell them to get gud. Comms would definitly help soloq because when one person goes up on a hook the other three stop what they are doing to go pull them off when only one has to. How do you expect them to convey that they are going for the hooked person? There are plenty of other reasons why you have to rely on comms to be good. That kinda how teams work. Imagine any pro FPS team without comms it would be total chaos and they would lose every time to a team with comms. Saying that "if you have to rely on coms are you actually good" is the dumbest statement I've read today.

Ok keep playing with your low MMR and running into all the new and bad players.

Again, your skill level is too low. First of all, you think you actually got good players in solo. No honey, you got players at your skill level, which isn't hard to reach. So again, not taking you seriously.
If killers are crybabies, what are survivors exactly? Because not to be that guy, but it's literally fact that survivors complain much more.
If I'm playing Myers before the update, how exactly would I get kills? Replace Myers with ANY M1 killer and it still works. Only Nurse and Blight were viable, and they are still the only viable killers once you get past a certain point.
You are absolutely incorrect, and you're showing me your lack of skill. It's sad.
Ok kid, my skill level is too low. The point of my post is that out of all the matches I've played today only 2 survivors quit the game. You are saying that survivors are quitting most of the games you play. If your MMR is so high and your skill lvl is so good then why you are running into people that are quitting ever match you play. What does that say about your skill level? Only survivors that quit games are the ones that are not the that great at the game yet. I mean you are gonna talk about my skill level when you are the one dealing with quitters. Sounds like someone needs to get better at the game so you aren't running into quitters all the time. 😂🤣

😂🤣 I get plenty of good teammates. People are just fed up with the crybaby killers getting there way all the time. I could care less if you take my opinion seriously. You must have sucked as a killer if you couldn't get kills before the update. If that's hard for you to stomach that's on you. Sucks to suck is suppose. Because they're crybabies and want the changes reverted. The game is balanced now, and survivors have been the power role for 6 years. Of course some of them are gonna be pissed. That doesn't change the fact that the game is much more healthy now.
This is not the case at all. Played all day today and only had 2 matches where survivors gave up. Killer mains are the biggest crybabies I've ever seen and are just afraid that the devs will see how killer sided this game is for soloq. Survivors were never the power role in soloq and the game was pretty balance for solo before this update. If you couldn't get kills before then you just sucked as killer plain and simple.

Yeah no. You just need to be not a complete potato. Even without being able to communicate to coordinate it doesn't take some supreme level of skill just to do a basic match of DBD.
Hell just having to worry about the old Dead Hard on every survivor, in every chase, every time collectively bought survivors so much time in each match that the removal of that alone has probably been the biggest tip to the scales.
The fraction of a second reduction to animations will also collectively help some killers over the course of a match but those alone won't have the match deciding potential that the removal of the Dead Hard Band Aid has had.
Gotta say this is 100% wrong. Any casual player vs any casual killer loses every time. Hence the reason why so many people are leaving the game or have been coming to the forums with issues about soloq. I think its comical that people are still blaming this on DH being nerfed. That has nothing to do with the base kit buffs that the killer got compared to the 5 seconds of endurance survivors got. Any killer that can count to 5 can still down you by tunneling. They made chases insanely difficult for a casual player to get away from because they might not be the best at looping. I'm sure most casual players will agree that even having a little amount of skill does not get past the speed of the killer.

I really hope for the day they introduce a general perk called "Just Leave". When you crouch 3times in 1s or you get slugged 0,5m away from the exit zone, you can't leave for 1min. Would have it equipped on all my builds forever.

We as a community need to start holding these game developers accountable for balancing a game so that it is fun competative for everyone. I am a killer main and I feel this game is absolutly unfit for anyone to play. I have been playing this game off and on a couple years; Too many times i am faced with a heavily unbalanced match that either makes it unfair for me or other players.
first match scenario would be were survivors seem way over powered against me based on my skill level as a killer and i feel unable to catch anyone because they were infinite loop masters and gen rushers that team either teabagged me in the end or stood and allowed me to get atleast one hit at the exit gates. In the end the match was neither fun for me or them.
2nd scenario would be me against 4 way underpowered survivors were they just cant get away from me at all and it becomes really easy to capture them while all of them are crawling on the ground or on the hook; I begin to feel sorry for them and allow 1 or 2 to escape. This wasnt fun i felt like i was taking candy from a baby.
The third scenario is were im sure survivors are guilty of as well; this is when right after a match when survivors were way too good and overwelmingly outplayed me and finished the match bullying and teabagging. by now im excited to try the next match on my highest game because of the unhealthy frustration from the previous game; however this new crew is not a sweaty crew like the last. I have now vented my frustration out on a casual gaming crew of survivors who were just there to have some fun while i took them all out way to easy and quick.
Guess what happens next? well its happening right now; survivors are calling out that killers are over powered and killers are are calling out that survivors are over powered. all this and the developers Behavior seems to constantly update the game to make it even more unbalanced as if this was their intention
Unfortunately after the update this game is miserable for casual players. Before the update the game was fairly balaced for casual players. It seems that BHVR expects you to have 6000+ hours or be in SWF to enjoy playing the game anymore. Soloq is dead.

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/339029/why-kill-rates-are-so-high
I see issues with any of this tbh. It's fairly obvious to most folks that as long as all four survivors possess a functioning brain and make relatively good calls the game is a good back and forth struggle. The problem is how survivor MMR works.
Say you have bad matches with teammates with such laughably low intelligence that referring to thier intellect as "sub-brick" is a complement. Well in matches with teammates that practically kill themselves (sometimes this is more literal) the odds of escaping through the gates is far harder than it needs to be. So until you escape through the gate repeatedly, you won't get good matches, since the hatch doesn't affect MMR and death lowers it.
Honestly? If folks have awful teammates for more than 3 games today, equip Wake Up and Sole Survivor and just gate creep. Prioritize getting yourself out those doors above everything else until you get 5-10 wins a day. Do this enough times and maybe the teammates will get better.
You seem like the type to throw your mother to the wolves so you can get away. Not a good philosophy to live by.

So just base don the number of threads and discussions about it, most of us will agree that soloQ is very rough right now. While not every game is a mess, and overall I agree KIllers have been needing some major buffs for awhile, it has left many people behind. And i think the answer is simple: survivor communication needs to be added to this game. A ping system at the very least, and a voice communication at best. I think the ping system is a fine compromise, it would at least provide some way of coordinating with your team, but tone down the toxicity that could come over voice.
I think a ping system is probably the best idea. Voice chat would get really nasty especially if you added the killer to it (like some have suggested).

The kindred basekit without killer aura is the most important step. A player on the hook sometimes don't understand that waving means killer is camping, and does this to tell people that no one is coming for me. We need to cut down on confusions like this and give survivors tools to see where other survivors are at times. Empathy is another perk that could more or less be basekit.
Adding kindred doesn't help everyone unfortunately. I am partially colorblind and on some maps I have trouble seeing aura's (even with colorblind mode on and at max). Which I'm sure there are others out there with the same issue that I have. If BHVR allowed people to choose the color of the aura in colorblind mode that might fix some of the issue that people with colorblindness have.

Only way to make it playable is to play full healing perks just to be able to heal yourself at decent speed (slower than CoH). How is Selfcare allowed to be trown into trash bin when CoH was allready 3x better? Please buff Self-care back to 50% or at least 45%.
It's killer perk now on tier 1,2 and probably 3 as well without any healing perk.
The reason they nerfed it was because it was one of the most used perks according to BHVR, but when CoH is locked behind a paywall what do you expect new players and people that don't want to spend money one the game to use? It was a bad decision that just hurts new player which BHVR has said they could care less about new players, hence why soloq is a disaster right now.

My thoughts too. I often feel like many killers consider anything less than a 4k a loss. I even saw feedback once that said killers should get a guaranteed 3k every game, as though 3k should be the baseline for a loss. Like could you imagine? It would change the entire game dynamic - it'd be survivor vs survivor.
Right. No reason to help your team in solo if you can get the hatch and be the only one to escape.

In a word? Unforeseen consequences. It would make defending the hook nearly impossible for one - and while camping/tunneling need a look, unhooks should absolutely not be free.
Another scenario - as a killer, I could manipulate this to make unhooking very. very difficult by bouncing people around the map right before the unhook.
Do most people play solo? I'd have to dig up the quote, but if I recall, BHVR said that most people outside of complete newbies at least dabble in SWFs.
My problem is that you're making statistical claims without any sort of data, and basing an argument around it. The burden of proof is on you to prove your claims, not on me to disprove them.
Ping spamming in Apex...just Google it. So many complaints.
Yes, it would be simpler to just treat solos and SWFs as different matchups and balance them differently, but BHVR have emphatically said that they won't ever do this, so that discussion is completely moot.
Defending the hook is camping. You can't defend a hook without proxy camping or face camping outside of using an ability to teleport you back to the hook or by laying a trap of some sort. Which there are only a few killers that can do this (trapper, hag, demo ect). Obviously you could solve your scenario by only transporting the person if another survivor is not in a certain range. So if for instance the hag were to teleport to a trap next to the survivor that is being unhooked the survivor wouldn't be transported because another survivor is in said range. Forcing the killer to take chase or to continue to camp which the survivor would then be sent to another hook.
Newbies will keep the lights on longer than any player that's been around for years. New players will not only buy new dlc and cosmetics that get released but will more than likely buy stuff most people already have if they are enjoying the game. Since pretty much all new players start out solo they will not stick around to spend money if they are losing constantly. So figuring out a way to cater to the new crowd would only bring in more revenue for BHVR.
Don't tell me that the burden of proof is on me and then tell me to do a simple google search. That has to be the most oxymoronic statement I've ever read. Here is some stats for you from 2020 https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/135357/can-we-get-statistics-for-how-many-people-play-in-swf. I couldn't find anything from more recent but with only 3-6% being full 4 man SWF 2 years ago, I'm sure that number hasn't increased by that much if not gone down because of people leaving to play new released games. 2 man SWF doesn't do anything if you get paired with players that aren't that good, which I've had happen multiple times as killer. The definition of dabble is "take part in an activity in a casual or superficial way." So yes while most new players will "dabble" in SWF most of the time they are playing solo.
If BHVR is unwilling to treat solos and SWF as different matchups then ultimately the game will fail because new players will not stick around. Since SWF is so op then killers will start to leave also. So have fun playing against that same 3-6% of SWF players.

So...70% isn't a stat, it's your own estimate.
My estimate is very different, whether I'm on survivor or killer.
Your camping solution would cause more issues than it would solve, mate.
I don't know how much a ping system would do, because A. I play a lot of games with ping systems, and it's just wall to wall spam. Your hypothetical player would be just as overwhelmed with 3 people spamming pings on cooldown and B. communication isn't coordination. You can't force people to listen to your pings.
I'm not against the idea, I just think it's going to be - at best - a wash.
You cannot balance this game around both solos and SWF.
How would my camping solution cause more more problems? It doesn't seem to cause problems when pyramid head puts you in a box. If your going to offer criticisim maybe do it in a constructive way and tell me why it wont work, mate.
Your estimate is different because I'm talking about before the patch and before a whole bunch of people left the game. Show me a stat then but based off of logical thinking most people play solo. If you can't think logically and come to the conclusion that most games killers were being paired against were solo then you have to be in denial. How many SWF team do you think are in the game at one time? By your comment you must think that solo has been non existent and only SWF play this game. Which is grossly untrue if you look at the forums and the people that are saying that solo is terrible.
If you play ping system games and people are just spamming you must have some terrible luck. I was just playing some apex earlier today and the 2 other random teammates I played with in the matches I played did nothing of the sort. The only time anyone spams ping is when they are down and trying to get you to come to them before they die.
You can balance this game for solos and SWF the game just needs to be able to distinguish which teams are solo and which are SWF and balance accordingly. I'm not going to offer a solution on how this will be done because you will just shoot it down without and explanation.

Wait they are nerfing survivors again after the massive buff that killers just got. Do the devs even look at the forums or are they really out to kill this game?

Oh yes 1 in 20 to 1 in every other game is the same isnt it bud
How hard is it for you to admit survivors are throwing a massive tantrum? Very. I know im talking to a wall. I hope survivors enjoy their tantrum and when they are done we can have some actual games.
Respectfully <3
How hard is it for your to admit that killers have been throwing a tantrum for the last few years when being killer was already easy enought to get at least 2k per match. Its very hypocritical to tell me to admit something when you wont either.

70%?
Says...who?
That hasn't been my experience, at all. At least half of my games have a full or partial SWF in them.
Nobody is getting camped 'every other game'. Yes, camping needs a look, but it's a difficult fix to get right.
Yes, I'd like to see solos get a buff, but I don't know if communication is the issue. Coordination is the issue, but you can't give that artificially. That all said - this is a game best played in a group. There are tons of tools to find groups. Is it such a bad idea to nudge people towards groups?
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3105266#Comment_3105266
PR will get nerfed again - it's numbers are a bit out of whack with the changes. I wish they'd nerfed the numbers from the start and kept the scream - it gave the perk so much character.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3105027#Comment_3105027
I think it'd be a fair amount of work - for what I'm almost certain will be minimal gains. Because communication doesn't mean coordination.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3105139#Comment_3105139
Interesting. I'm finding the game less boring on both factions.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3105072#Comment_3105072
- Define 'bad behavior'. I don't know what you mean here.
- I'm not saying that killer balance hasn't improved over time. I'm saying that even when I started in 2020, it was dire. Especially since killers had zero matchmaking protections at the time.
- What power did killers have available to them (outside of quickly fixed bugs) equivalent to team-wide permanent wallhacks?
- I can tell that you don't handle change well :) It's...something you'll have to learn though.
- I 'call out' people I disagree with, when I see specific, unprovoked examples.
- Here's the thing. It's not nice to say, but there isn't much you can do to help solos that won't make the SWF matchup worse. You can't artificially give people coordination or the same mindset. I'm not trying to be nasty - just realistic.
- Which posts? Be specific (as in, which specific posts are you talking about here?).
- Yes, people will have to learn to play around Thana. This will be difficult in solo. Unless you want to totally rework the perk, I don't want any more killers or perks nerfed because of solo - until we've at least tried some bandaids to help solos communicate. Legion will mean healing each other and splitting. Plague will mean overcleansing.
- What 'rise' of camping and tunneling? These have always been around and have always sucked.
- A few buggaboos aside, I think this patch was a huge leap in the right direction.
- MMR absolutely does work. It's not perfect, but compared to before - as an intermediate player - it was night and day how many more 'close' matches I was getting. Ranks, with the endless smurfing, monthly resets etc. were a bloody nightmare.
I know it must be hard to accept but no one is complaining about SWF on the forums but there are tons of posts lately of people complaining about the miserable experience that solo is right now so imo 70% seems like an accurate number. Considering my experience as killer I would also say that 70% was correct before the patch.
I played about 15 games with some friends the other day and there were 2 where we didn't run into a camper or tunneller. So camping and tunneling is a bigger issue than you think. Its not a difficult fix, all they have to do is teleport the person on the hook to another hook on the other side of the map when camping (like pyramid head's cage ability already does), that fixes the issue of camping and tunneling.
Trying to force anyone to play the way you want them to is never a good idea. Its much easier to coordinate if you have a ping system like apex legends or in game comms. For instance, I am partially colorblind and don't always see auras of my teammates (even with colorblind mode active) depending on the map so I'm not sure how to improve that artificially. The ping system is also a better idea because not everyone wants to have to talk or has the social skills to chat with others (such as people with Asperser's) hence why they play solo. Having 3 other people constantly talking can also be very distracting to some. Using discord or other tools to find groups does help find groups but doesn't help with the communication issue unless you are going to try to type a message or open a voice chat using that system which can also lead to issues hearing in game audio. People should be able to play the way they want and every group should be considered when making changes if you want to diversify your player base to bring in more revenue and keep the game around.

I watched plenty of killer mains afk or throw games. Don't act like you are different from any of them. Just keep complaining on the forums though and the devs will give you what you want.

Killers aren't the ones being unreasonable. And honestly, this post is a perfect example.
Sure, some are having a bit of fun at your expense, because of the years upon years of killers getting the greasy end of the stick, and the second something gets nerfed, we get posts like this sulking and catastrophizing.
Some are trying to explain that things are still fine, you'll just need to adapt a bit.
You're also deliberately strawmanning here. Hard.
- Literally nobody is saying that every survivor is a toxic 4man, and I challenge you to find me a single person that is. What people are saying is that you cannot balance the game around both solos and SWF, and thus this game has to be balanced around SWF.
- Nurse is too strong, and I think the vast, vast majority of players agree. The problem is that - as you so perfectly demonstrate here - the second they give in and change anything now, you're going to want more. And more. And more. Until basically every change that has been made this patch is undone - I mean, the amount of 'revert gens to 80 seconds but keep regression perks nerfed' posts...bloody hell.
Seriously, this post is the epitome of us versus them.
Stop.
PS: You are projecting here. Hard.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3104648#Comment_3104648
We have empathy. We just think the game is healthier now.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3104704#Comment_3104704
Bingo.
What annoyed me was the 'us versus them is bad - but us versus them is killers fault and so we should hate all killer players because they are all terrible people' mindset.
Just...argh.
Problem with balancing around SWF is that before the update killers were playing 70% of their games against soloq and now those people are leaving the game because its such a miserable experience. Now as a killer most of my games are against SWF and I can still normally secure 2k which is a win in my book but most killers don't think this is a win and want more. Why would anyone want to stick around if they are going to be tunneled or camped almost every game or just watch a mediocre killer get an easy 4k. The devs need to figure out a way to give soloq a buff while making sure that SWF doesn't get one. One of the biggest issues with soloq is a lack of communication, something the devs have known about for quite some time and still have done nothing about. I'm not sure if giving a ping system or comms in game would fix all the issues but it would definitely help.
