Also let's not forget in the same list of bug fixes is one about Drama no longer slowing you down when activating. That's pretty huge.

Event items could've stayed in my opinion, but getting BNPs was kind of over the top.
You can still get BNPs. You just can't pull a Purple med-kit anymore.
Basically you get a green item + two random addons and those addons can't be event ones.
-
I'm pretty sure this is about HL working on Snapping Out of It and Pig Cage skillchecks which were used to be affected by skillcheck perks like Unnerving, but were changed to not years ago.
-
If tunneling was weak, people wouldn't be complaining about killers tunneling them out of the game.

once again, nobody's stating the dc bots were added so people could dc. you're once again, seemingly intentionally missing the point just to go on a tangent about other people dc'ing. the point of the bots is to fill in when someone disconnects from the match. i'm not encouraging people to dc, nor is the system encouraging people to dc. it is, quite literally, the less of two evils, and that's all it is, and i would rather the system favour people dc'ing than people hookiciding, as it would lead to a less unenjoyable match. you're allowed to disagree with that, but that doesn't mean you aren't missing the point. you quite definitely are, because you're continuing to talk about points no one has said, nor supported.
First this discussion isn't about hook suicides. Hook suicides frankly shouldn't exist, but this is topic is not a discussion about that.
Second, I'm not missing the point. You keep bringing up a different point.
Third, I'm not engaging any further with someone who doesn't want to engage with the topic of dc penalty and keeps bringing up hook suicides.
Bots do not exist to give people an out to dc. The penalty should not be lowered, because bots exist.

you're missing the point. increasing the dc penalty results in more people hookiciding rather than eating a dc and are going to leave their team without a dc bot. sure, you don't WANT people dc'ing, but if someone wants out of a match i'd rather dc'ing be more their thing than hookiciding. upping the dc penalty is a lose lose situation especially considering anyone can find ANYTHING uninteresting in this game, because everyone has different definitions of fun, and would LOVE to stand under a hook if they don't get their hookicide, if anything i'm glad people are saying they'll dc instead of hookicide if the change was reverted.
I'm not missing any point. The DC bots weren't added so people could d/c. They were added so if something happened and there was a d/c. the rest of the survivors don't get completely screwed over.
And frankly if you find yourself d/cing or raging out of games, you should just take a break and stop playing.
-
The bots are not an excuse to dc. Their existence does not mean people should disconnect.
-
Honestly something does need to happen, but considering it's easy for people to die on first hook beyond their own control, I imagine it's a difficult task to really approach. Honestly when they announced switching to hook skillchecks, I hoped it meant you had no way to instant die on hook, but they still kept that in for reasons.
Personally, if people are finding themselves making excuses for why they need to rage out of multiple games a night, they probably should just take a break and go do something else.

Bots also have permanent wall hacks so you can't mindgame them like a real person.
There was a post on reddit showing it off
Dead by Daylight is an asymmetrical multiplayer horror game in which four resourceful survivors face off against one ruthless killer. Developed and published by Behaviour Interactive. This subreddit is not owned, operated, or moderated by Behaviour Interactive. -
Having access to an extra health state twice a match is still very strong

That isn't what I said, bruh, I said PT and NM it isn't uncommon considering the meta. PT is meta, NM is more common considering the meta. Learn to read, bro.
So you're saying No Mither is meta.

You act as if PT and NM is incredibly uncommon in this meta. No one's "risking" bringing this build on the chance they'll be able to counter corrupt. You don't even have to use NM to counter Corrupt, just PT. There are 4 survivors, or 16 perks that a killer has to play against. Killer only has four. One person bringing this build negates a quarter of the killer's perks. This isn't a "niche" counter, it's just unfair. Imagine a killer perk that disables four survivor perks, I doubt you'd find that "fun".
Are you really saying No Mither is meta?
-
I don't see the point tbh.
Bots aren't even a good solution to dcs, but since people can have game crashes or power outages, they have to exist to keep the current match from heavily favoring the killer.

They're not unique, but it's almost impossible if she doesn't move from that 3gen, with her power the way it is.. She needs fixing or the 3 gen situation needs fixing. It can't be enjoyable for the killer to stand at a 3 gen and not chase and it's certainly not enjoyable for survivors.
The devs have already stated they plan to look into 3 gen situations. Changes like this take time and the devs aren't going to disable working content until a fix that might not come for another year.
-
The killswitch is not for disabling killers that are working as intended.
3 Genning strats aren't even unique to her anyways.
-
No.
Part of playing a PvP game is that you'll sometimes face people using stuff you don't like. If the devs ever allowed individuals to block from facing certain things, then queues will suffer and some people may never find a match.
So suck it up, because Nurse isn't uncounterable and while she's harder to beat than other killers doesn't mean you shouldn't try.
-
Ultimately if you are finding yourself "needing" to d/c from games frequently, just take a break and go play other games.
-
@mustdogen said:
Why people keep saying no mither?
You have to not injure a survivor to avoid your perk or even your whole build being destroyed is the problem.
It is a huge problem for killer who plays hit and run style and end game build.
But who care right?
Most of people talking here Don't even play the killer.
If the Killer hits you and then you plot twist to remove corrupt, you put yourself at risk of giving a free hook. Survivors could already run at the killer to disable corrupt before plot twist and no one did so.
Not to mention that going to the killer and getting them to hit you and then running ofc to plot twist, your teammates likely started non blocked gens already.
As for end game, when was the last time you ran into a killer seriously running an end game build.
None of this is an actual problem.
-
I honestly don't see the issue.
Plot Twist also triggers killer perks like Eruption and Remember Me, so it's hardly a one sided exchange.
I dislike how we can't have any interesting perk synergizes, because someone gets upset it's possible.
-
We don't need to incentivize rage quitting and this system will be very exploitable by SWFs who can rotate who d/cs.

Maybe Year 7 is the one where people grasp the concept of 'player agency' and/or 'other people control their characters however they want.'
Anyways, see you in camp topic #2502 :)
I wish I could be this optimistic
-
The skillcheck is fine. If there were going to be any change, I would make perks like Eruption and Overcharge lose their effect when the gen is fully regressed like how Surveillance no longer highlights the gen.
-
The game is an asym elimination game. You're going to have games where you just die and there's not much you can do about it. That's just what the game is.
Resorting to calling your opponents names or judge their skill based on the match is just being salty and that won't do you any good or help you improve.
-
People really need to stop focusing on the number of gens left when they complain about tunneling and camping as it's irrelevant.
Ultimately if a killer decides their best play is to camp, they will camp.
Also the statement that "other people are trying to play the game" is also irrelevant. The killer is trying to play the game too. It's not their job to make sure that survivors get to play in the exact way they want to play.

No, you don't understand game design and being part of dev team/company. The number of ppl doesnt matter really. The time and resources that they have are already being taken up by projects they are working on right now. They can't just drop everything they are working on to rework one single killer. They can't just create time in the day either or hire more ppl. I never said they were a small indie company, they are not, but they do have higher ups(investors) to answer to and they have deadlines that need to be met. They are most likely busy right now working on the next 4 killers, maps and ect. Im not just saying all this, Peanits said as much in a thread about why devs are afraid to buff weaker killers(https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3480436#Comment_3480436).
That said will SM be changed or see buffs/nerfs? Yes, they will get around to it when they can but ppl need to be patent and reasonable. The killswitch system wasn't made to disable killers who are annoying, it was made to disable game-breaking bugs. If they did killswitch SM till she is reworked we would be looking at a paid dlc killer being unable to play for 6 months to a year since doing those type of changes take time. Look at the twins rework as an example, we have waited over a year now and still have no clue when that rework will happen. There is no telling how long the Sakoko rework took these devs to do. That rework easily could been started 6 months or a year ago.
At the end of the day it's true BHVR isn't some idle company but that doesnt change the fact that they do not have the time or resources to do a rework of a killer fast enough to justify a killswitch. If they could do that rework in a few months sure but we all know, including the devs themselves, that is not possible.
Also the statement of 1200 employees is very deceptive. We have no way to know what the exact number is working on DBD and BHVR is working on more than just DBD. Even if the claim that 90% of those employees were on DBD was true, don't forget that DBD also has people working on the sound, new cosmetics, and a team dedicated to interfacing with the community and those people don't work on balancing/reworking killers.
Of course it's easy for people to criticize BHVR's prioritizes when they don't understand what it's like to work on a team for a big project where each team has a specific focus.
-
With plague having a guaranteed starting fountain, it's not so much cut and dry to never cleanse to deny power.
The thing is you do have to be smart about it. Prioritizing fountains away from the gens being pressured, multiple survivors cleansing fountains to force plague to get corrupt while everyone is healthy with all fountains reset can put the plague in an awkward situation.
Many people simply didn't adapt from release plague where not cleansing was guaranteed to prevent her from having access to corrupt outside of addons.
-
Some killers have solid base powers and don't need addons to fix an issue. Makes them good killers to farm BP with since you don't spend anything on them.
-
This is hardly a real problem, because you are playing against a survivor with No Mither. Plus Plot Twist triggers other killer perks that trigger on a survivor going into dying state like Eruption.
I think these interactions are funny and it would be a shame to see them removed.
-
Skull Merchant is working as intended and thus not valid for a killswitch.
-
I experimented with Lucky Break, Plot Twist, Overcome, and Deception.
Get hit, if you run by a locker fake the locker, then find a place to go down and heal back up. There's likely a better perk than deception though.
-
Broken only prevents you from healing to healthy. Endurance puts you into Deep Wounds.
There's no reason for broken to prevent endurance.
-
Ruin and Undying was active at the start of the game, Undying showed the aura of survivors around ALL totems, and there was no one way to know if Undying was the totem cleansed. Not to mention that neither ruin or undying revealed themselves to survivors either.
Plus Plaything shows survivors where their totem is and cleansing a totem gives a loud noise notification to where the totem was, so it's really not that hard to keep track of totem locations against this specfic build compared to old ruin + undying.
Not to mention slowdown is not the same thing as regression. It was very easy for old ruin to fully regress gens before a survivor could get back to it and killers had old tinker with unlimited procs. It's unlikely to be chased away from a gen and have it fully regressed when you get back to it against pentimento + plaything compared to ruin + undying.
-
Considering the new item type of temporary items was created and intentionally made to not interact with Franklins, I doubt they are going to revert that change. Also Sadako's tapes intentionally were made to bypass Franklins from release.
Anyways, Franklins has always caused the survivor item to drop. I don't see that ever changing. At least you could always collect the item later and survivors have perk options to refill item charges.
-
It's because her non-condemn focus build is much weaker and her condemn focus build is much stronger. She also still has the issue where her threat is largely tied to an Iri Addon. The difference in survivors being able to pick up a tape and place it in any tv vs having to run across the map to place it is huge.
Didn't really solve the issues, just changed them around.
-
Freddy was once one of the best killers in the game. This was because placing snares had 0 slowdown, he had addons to passively slowdown survivor action speeds, and the best perks at the time where ruin and pop that not only worked together but synergized well with his power.
All those things have been nerfed since. He's a shell of his former self. Dream world is hardly a hinderance. He has no real good addons. The slowdown on the snares make it so he can struggle to end chases quickly which means he has a hard time snowballing.

Lol these posts have been split between her being severely overpowered and severely underpowered
Although I agree the change is a little braindead
It can be both.
Sadako has had 2 powers.
Her manifesting which allows her to go undetectable with a lullaby and phase which can help her caught survivors off guard at tiles.
Her TVs and Condemn since condemn happens via interactions with the TV.
They made using her manifestation/demanifestation and TVs for scouting weaker, it's way easier for survivors to shut down her TVs and harder for her to really catch survivors off guard due to chase ending immediately.
However, with an Iri Addon (really the same issue as before) you can focus on stacking condemn and force out kills without ever really engagng in chase and this was made easier.

How do you take the tape when you are on the hook, and she keeps teleporting to it on cooldown?
Your teammates should be doing so. Having teammates fail to counter the killers power when they can use it to camp hook sucks, but BHVR can't really fix your teammates. Same issue happens with hag and I still get teammates that run into the basement triggering all the traps.
-
You can take the tape and prevent her ability from teleporting to that tv for a little over a minute.
-
They wait till the killer is carrying a survivor to solve it. They also don't know how to wait out the chains to avoid being interrupted.
-
It just means being carried by the killer.

unfortunately with the amount of killers in the game, the ones with unique properties (secondary objectives) can only really have basic programming designed for them (without proper optimization ofc.) I think they took the complaints that solo's never go for the box to heart when they programmed em. Havent tested, but im sure they probably do stuff like spam cleanse vs plague as well. shame, but its just like getting accidentally sandbagged by a bad player who doesnt know better basically.
There's also the flipside where some killer powers just don't really work well against the bots, because the bots innately cheat at the game. The bots don't see like a player, so they always have access to the killer's location information. Now they are programmed to not use the information unless they can "see" the killer or are in the TR, but the problem is killers like Ghostface whose powers depend on having LoS on a survivor, it becomes frustrating hard to stalk bots because even a brief moment when the bot "could" see you, they'll run away.
Ultimately, the devs aren't trying to build a pve game, so the bots are always going to be funky.

Nic Cage literally came out today. I imagine a lot of people are trying to play as Nic Cage and mess with his perks.

I don't care about the outcome.
I care that once again the consumers get shafted for choice, for again, seemingly greed related reasons and no explanation offered.
If it's not a big deal, why was the change made to begin with?
What is the greed here? You can still purchase it for the lower price through the in-game store. You are not in any way forced to purchase Nic Cage for $10.
If buying Auric Cells is such a huge problem and you don't like the price of the DLC, then just wait for a sale. It's not the end of the world if you don't own Nic Cage.
-
Pinhead has to manually drop the survivor and then use the teleport button. Frankly, it's better to ignore the box if you've already committed to the pick up, because the window to make the teleport is very short.

Sounds exploitable.
Bots are very exploitable. They are solely meant to be an extra body for situations where someone d/cs so the survivors aren't just thrown into 3v1.
-
The bots don't solve the box until pinhead picks up a survivor. They intentionally wait for him to be animation lock so he can't teleport.
-
I mean, you d/c and you got the penalty.
I'm not even sure why you are interested in spectating the bots, because you can play against them in customs and get a rough understanding of how good they are.

The issue is people who like to buy on steam are now forced to either buy an in game currency or pay extra for content they don't want.
You can buy the exact amount of auric cells you need to buy Nic Cage and it gets processed through the steam store.
Now if Nic Cage cost more than the lowest auric cell bundle, but less than the next auric cell bundle with no option of just buying the exact amount, that would be scummy. But in this case, if you just want the character, then you have an option.
-
You can just buy 500 auric cells through stream and pick up just Nic Cage on the DBD store.
I'm not really seeing the issue here.

Agreed. BHVR crippled Nic Cage sales with sub-par perks. If you are charging $10 for a survivor, that survivor better have some meta worthy perks.
You're really still on calling his perks subpar when they are all very usable.
