People aren't sleeping on him. He's just a very frustrating killer to start playing and most people don't really want to deal with it. Plus it's not like his power is that amazing that it justifies the initial experience.
Simply he just needs adjustments. BHVR didn't really consider the killer experience very well for this killer and it shows that people playing killer don't really want to deal with it.

You're right its the game's fault for nerfing most killer playstyles so they have to resort to playing a boring uninteractive playstyle instead.
Hit and Run is the equivalent to distortion gen-rushing tbh.
Yes, anything you refuse to learn to play against is boring and uninteractive. Why bother getting good at the game when you just cry for nerfs until the game literally plays it for you.

Advising someone to take perks just for the chance that it might counter the killer's playstyle is folly.
Fear-Mongerer, Sloppy, Lethal, XYZ is a very common pubstomp build that counters most of what you're suggesting.
Again its not that the strat is uncounterable, I win most of my games vs Hit and Run, I just personally find it to be extremely uninteractive and boring, so I want to see it get nerfed but only when killers get buffed so they don't have to use it because PVP games should encourage interaction.
If they are very common perks, then taking a perk to counter them is reasonable. It's not like I'm telling you to take some bad perk that counters a very niche situation.
Wraith isn't even a top killer in dbd and you're complaining about how unstoppable he is when the killer player using his power effectively. Some point you just have to realize, it's not the killer who is at fault.

Where did I mention I lose to it?
I can handle it just fine, that doesn't mean its not boring and repetitive.
"Refuse to heal up" When was the last time you played survivor? Do you realize how long it takes to find someone, and then natty heal through Sloppy? In my SWF we literally have one person bring We'll Make It just for that and its still annoying, I can only imagine how it annoying it is in solo.
"Force gens" As opposed to what? You literally have to do an unsafe gen at some point in which the problems with the playstyle arise, there's no chase, no interaction, no intelligence, just mindlessly get a stealth hit over and over. Let's be real.
I play plenty of survivor. That's why I can tell you, you're failure to adapt to the situation at hand is your own fault. If you are constantly finding yourself having issues dealing with hit and run strats, well you have perks to help.
Sprint Burst is great at getting you out of unsafe areas to safer ones.
You can use Inner Healing and Med-kits for self healing. CoH is still very effective into hit and run strats even if you can't heal yourself with it anymore.
You even have access to tools to help get gens done quicker such as Deja Vu and Prove Thyself.
Complaining about hit and run just shows you have no ability to adapt outside of chase around a pallet.

dud, i hop into match to have some fun right, then there is a guy who hides his profile, gets downed in 5 seconds and dces. I just want to have an option to block him and next time he is in my lobby to simply dodge it.
If you don't want to risk playing with bad players in solo queue, find friends to play with instead.
You're always going to run into bad players in soloq with or without private profiles. You're intent on keeping track on the profile's of people you play with is what causes people to private their stuff. No one wants to be harassed over a game.

Yeah let me go find an ally to heal through sloppy butcher and then go back to the gen and then get hit again anyways and repeat until someone gets bored and goes next.
Not to mention sometimes 3-gens can have 2/3 being unsafe so its not like you can ignore them.
Hit and Run is stale, made even worse with healing nerfs + sloppy being popular, the only reason why I don't think it should get nerfed is because killers have little else to work with but I definitely would like it to get smashed once killers get buffed.
You're just explaining a skill issue. You refuse to heal up and try to force gens that are unsafe while injured and then cry that the killer caught you out in the open.
You're inability to play against any tactics that doesn't involve running around a pallet is your problem.

The skill expression in question: Wow I uncloak blocking a loopable object while the survivor is doing an unsafe gen and lunge for a free down.
Unsafe Gen
That's the keyword right there. You took a huge risk against a wraith while injured and it didn't pay out.
-
You do know that tunneling will always be a thing regardless of how bhvr nerfs it. There's nothing unhealthy about it. The killer's job is to kill.

You can prefer whatever playstyle you want, but when the game is specifically setup to cater to those OTHER styles too, it means it's perfectly fine for ppl to do that. This game has a wide cast of killers that are not going to be played the exact same ways. To expect a killer to forgo their own power and just run in circles as "man with knife" is what's truly dumb. If you're being outplayed by a "dumb" playstyle, it's not dumb. If you're NOT being outplayed, then why complain about killers getting "easy hits" that they're not getting against you.
What's funny is that it's more braindead for everyone killer to just hold W at every loop until they Bloodlust for hits. There's more skill expression in hit and run comparatively because you need to have good map awareness to create ambush points on injured survivors.
-
Well camping is considered a valid playstyle so I'm not sure what gripe you actually have here.
But it likely costs money to push the ptb to console and for something that lasts barely a week, it's probably not worth the cost to get the approval of the ptb patch.
-
There's no way you got a 24 hour penalty off a single connection issue.
-
Because there's plenty of people in the community who love to hop onto people's steam profiles to continue to insult and harass them over actions in a video game. Many people just don't want to deal with it.
And frankly OP you sound like the exact kind of player that causes people to use a privacy settings in the first place.

Isn’t that what makes them not okay though? They’re all essentially the same unless they’re being used on another survivor.
The med-kit rarities being the same for self heals doesn't really matter when the ability to self-heal even at 33% penalty is still strong.
Not to mention Syringes and Styptics are quite powerful addons med-kits enable.
-
The game really wouldn't have the same appeal if the devs moved away from the focus on killing survivors.
-
@Heaphaistos said:
Oh i know, it's not the killer's job to make sure we had enough fun... That is why I ask the developers for a solution, so that the toxic player does not act in such behavior.
The issue is not about the killer , it about the player behind the killer.
Tunnel Focus is not a healthy way to play.
Again the killer is not toxic for killing you when it is their sole objective.
It would be like saying that survivors repairing generators is toxic and that bhvr should remove that ability from survivors.
-
@Heaphaistos said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3485118#Comment_3485118
So one survivor can play the match for only ~5 min because of this behavior. Sound really fun...
Also, we all know the killer has to kill the survivors, I mean it is self explanatory...But that doesn't mean the killer should just tunnel focus and make the game unpleasant for one survivor.
(A situation where one survivor has two hooks, early game, and the killer is still chasing them is what I am referring to.)
It's not the killers job to make sure you have enough "fun" before dying.
-
@Heaphaistos said:
It's not about win in this situation, I'm talking about fun. The fact that the killer can just focus one player because of X reason, make the game really unfun when it happen. Even though for some players this is a rare case, this behavior is truly toxic.
It could be anything... The devs can try to make it more appealing for the killer to not tunnel focus.
The entire point of the killer role is to kill survivors. There is nothing toxic about killers playing the game.
-
The endurance off hook is just meant to give you a chance to make it to a tile. It has never been about preventing the killer was going after you.
-
If they ever added a do not match with feature everyone's queue times are going to be long, because the dbd playbase calls basically everything toxic.
-
Bots are not meant to be actual replacements. They are just their to keep a body in the game so it's not just a 3v1. We don't need to remove the penalty because the game isn't meant to be killer vs bots
-
Even if you nerf swf like this. You'll still lose to decent solo groups and then still comparing swf is too strong.

SB can give you same effect, it can make you reach to loop from dead zone.
Lithe can make you leave chase and force killer to leave you because you got very good distance.
This perk is not different than both of them. And if killer hit you before you use it, you lost the perk. If killer chase you while you are injured, you can't use it.
Why you people are acting like this perk is old DH level lol? Old DH was busted but this perk is not even A-tier and i highly doubt we will see this perk is popular like other exhaustion perks.
It's an on demand burst of speed when you need it most. Lithe requires a vault and Sprint Burst requires exhaustion management.
It's very comparable to old dead hard, but it's far more balanced than old dead hard. People acting like it won't get run are fooling themselves.

I think most people are taking all of Dramaturgy's pluses and minuses together.
An expose status will still affect you sometimes. Coupled with the fact that it's half the speed of every other exhaustion perk. Coupled with the fact it's 1 second less than the "good" exhaustion perks.
Really, the only benefit you get from running Dramaturgy is that you get a Plunder's Instinct with the new worst exhaustion perk in the game.
Drama is hardly the worst exhaustion perk. It's really good at correcting bad movement at tiles similiar to old Dead Hard for distance to vaults and windows.
Dead Hard was the best exhaustion perk in the game and it was only a 1 second dash. So the duration of the exhaustion perk has no merits to its strength.
-
Singularity is bound to be an unpopular killer unless they improve some of the frustration points of his power which many exist outside of the EMPs.
He's just a killer you really have to dedicate time to figuring out and given that there are just many other killers who are just as strong with much easier to figure out powers that are less frustrating to use, there's not a huge reason for many people to pick singularity.
-
Idk why people are acting like the expose really matters. Most killers aren't going to reach you in 12 seconds after 25% haste for 2 seconds.
-
If someone brings Guardian it's 120% for 8 seconds.
I don't really think this is a big deal though. It's very limited duration and is meant to make sure the survivor has some chance after being unhooked.
-
If you could reliably wiggle out, there would be no reason for survivors to do altruistic plays. As it stands, having teammates body block or sabotage hooks are largely required for you to wiggle off and therefore altruism is incentivized.
So no idea why you think it discourages altruism.

In what world does this logic make any sense?
It's a perk. With this logic nothing was ever supposed to get nerfed, because I can pick whatever strong mechanic on other side and say it's fair.
You got shack we have bloodlust 3. So by this bloodlust is already taken. How did MFT got into it?
You can tell the MFT defenders don't actually have a defense for their perk. They just don't want it to be justifiably nerfed.
Same thing happened with CoH and Dead Hard. Two previous survivors perks complained about that had defenders claiming that they were actually fine.
-
He has to hit you 6 times to deal damage and 12 times to drop you from healthy to dying.
Not to mention these hits decay if you drop chase or he hasn't hit you in a while.
Besides, practically any killer catching you in an open area where you have nothing to use will get a hit on you.
-
The event really isn't that bad and it's not like survivor didn't have an event that favored them with snowmen being health states.

Bloodlust comes with a cost of not using your power and leaving up pallets to be used later. That's not free.

Agreed. Overclock runs out way too quickly at base. By the way do you still main birb lady ? I remember you were fond of her when she was released. Just curious.
I really wanted to main her, but I just couldn't get into her power very much.
The problem I have with her power is that going from placing crows to firing them requires more button presses than it should. Not to mention the fact she can't place crows at hooks which leads to situations of trying to use my power for non-camping purposes and getting punished.
Doesn't help the timing required to damage with two swarm attacks is very precise. Meanwhile huntress hatchets are so huge and she only needs to land 1, granted they can't go through walls but still.
I would love to see artist get some QoL changes, but seeing Sadako changes on ptb don't make me very hopeful for anything good.

@WeenieDog said:
I'm not even sure if it a balance problem and instead just the sheer number of killer we have.
As a newish player (or super casual) are you really going to instantly buy the new killer? How many people actually buy every chapter/paragraph on release vs a sale?
I have enough Iri Shards to pick up the new killers and survivors on release unless it's a licensed chapter. But I'm also reaching 4K hours.
-
Honestly 4 seconds of Overclock where you can often run out of Overclock before being able to break the pre-thrown pallet isn't worth the frustration of trying to get in that position in the first place.
When Singularity was revealed, I honestly thought Overclock was going to last like 30 seconds and be an actual threat survivors would need to be on top of. But it really isn't.
-
Bloodlust is "free" if you ignore your power and pallets to force it out. The fact is bloodlust hardly ever comes up and I really don't encounter killers trying to force bloodlust for hits, because you will lose the game if you do that.
MFT is free, because being injured as a survivor is just something that happens no matter what you do.
I know you'll never actually understand the difference.
-
People complain about the expose on bloodlust, but I have legit not seen killers use it 99% of the games I've played as survivor during the event. I saw it used twice, with one time outlasting the expose because I made the pallet in time. Then I had 2 other killers attempt to do it (assuming for the challenge) and I just stopped running to break chase since I was already in hit range anyways.
Anyways, survivors can handle 1 event where the killer has the advantage after the snowmen event from 2 years ago.

What are you talking about.. mft you have to be injured??? Survivors are at a disadvantage and bloodlust is easy to meet just follow a survivor long enough .. 🤣
Yes you have to be injured for MFT. Maybe you should read the perk if that is something you didn't know.

But then you have to stay injured if you want value from it My guy show me some good survivor gameplay of you staying injured all game and running the killer for multiple gens if you don’t have any gameplay or proof stop complaining saying ohhhh being injured is nothing when yes it really is lol
Being injured is nothing to write home about. Survivors are guaranteed to spend parts of the match injured.
And it's not like you have to stay injured all match for MFT. The fact is, you are bound to be injured at some point and having access to an infinite duration of 3% movement speed is huge at a lot of tiles. You don't even need to take the killer on a single chase all game. 3% can mean the difference of going down before reaching a vault or pallet and giving the killer a pain res proc on a gen that was almost done vs making that vault or pallet and the gen getting finished.

Being injured is a requirement and wow I’m getting rolled so I get free haste to crutch on it is comparable and I don’t think made for this will get nerfed because just shows how pathetic this dev team really is if it does just pander to whiny killers because they will spit their dummy out
Being injured is hardly a requirement. It's the default state upon being unhooked. It's the state you go into when you get hit by majority of attacks. It's the state you get picked up into.
Being injured is the easiest things for survivors to do.

I disagree.
as a newbie I doubt that facing 2 MFT per match that are effectively used in most of my matches represents only 5% of the survivor population.
why are survivors main playing the austrich with that perk is beyond me.
This happens everytime with every perk that is too strong from both sides of the game.
People just don't want their strong toys taken away from them.
-
Bloodlust and MFT are not comparable.
MFT has the easiest condition for survivors to meet and is always active.
Bloodlust takes at least 15 seconds to kick in and requires the killer to not use their power or break pallets during that entire time or it resets completely. Killers getting bloodlusted hits is far rarer than survivors using MFT. A killer who is consistently relying on Bloodlust for hits is going to lose to gen speed.
-
@Seraphor said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3479577#Comment_3479577
Bloodlust isn't a problem because killers rarely use it.
MFT is a problem because it's always active.
Ergo, MFT isn't a problem because now killers get to use Bloodlust, where even tier 1 (5%) completely counters MFT.
You're creating an argument that wasn't made. I get you love your MFT, but you are so disingenuous.
-
@Seraphor said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3479568#Comment_3479568
So MFT gives killers no option but to... trigger bloodlust. Oh no what a hardship.
I have no idea what you are even responding to.
-
Bloodlust kicks in 15 seconds in a chase without using your power or breaking a wall/pallet. Killers really don't hit bloodlust that often, because the circumstances that require it to happen are rare outside of some killers who lack a power to use in chase.
Comparing MFT a perk that is always active when the easiest to meet condition is obtained to an effect that is there to help in situations where the killer has no other option to keep chasing without breaking pallets or using their power just shows how out of touch you are.
-
Hexes that spawn at the start of the match are just too weak to justify using imo.
Half the time survivors spawn on top of it. The other half they spawn in such obvious places that they are going to get cleansed before you even start getting momentum.
Generally the hexes I see in play if I see any are: Plaything (spawns per first hook), Pentimento (usually paired with plaything), Haunted Grounds, NOED.
Occasionally I run into Undying and Devour Hope, because the reward for keeping the hex up actually exists.
-
I think too many people have narrow views of horror and refuse to explore anything out of what they consider horror. Horror can be scary, but horror doesn't need to be scary to be horror.
It's fine if DBD isn't a "scary" game.
-
From what I can tell, Hooks have always broke on sacrifice since the game's inception. It's possible it's an outdated mechanic at this point, but it's just something the devs never changed.
-
Piece has no real drawbacks to it. Judith slows Myers down considerably and as a result it's really only usable with Tuft of Fur with a build dedicated to mori all 4 survivors.
-
You want the devs to make bots spawn when a player dies? Seems awfully unfair.
-
It shouldn't. The coughing is a side effect of a killer's power and perks shouldn't just counter killer powers.
