Why? I am having fun doing what I am doing. Clearly you did not read what I said. But thank you for your input.
I read what you wrote. It just boils down to throwing a fit, because the game didn't play out the exact way you wanted.
Instead of getting yourself worked up over DBD matches, just play something else.
-
If aspects of the game are causing you to throw a fit mid match, go play something else.
-
It should not. It's meant for bugs. Not for personal dislikes.
-
Blocking people doesn't prevent matchmaking with them
-
Honestly it's just entitlement.
Players of DBD have just gotten so entitled over the years and no matter how much the devs change based on feedback, people will just never be happy unless the game goes exactly the way they want it to go.

Calling it "not liking to play against her" is very naive to say. Some people don't even have the time of a day to have what can be up to 3 50 minute dbd games in a day. You can say that about versing Nurse or Blight, that the games most of the times and quick and that's that. But saying it like that comes out as very oblivious about the problem, or you just don't happen to verse this kind of players as often as others do (what I really love for you and even envy.)
I hope you understand that eventually people, and most likely solo players, will tend to just bring builds based on distortion, sole survivor, wake up and left behind with a key and just hold the game hostage for killer by just hiding (which of course would be just as obnoxious and annoying, and should not be a thing and there should be a way to combat it even now that it's not an actual common thing, but if it happened I would want the problematic perks to get kill switched until a proper fix happens.) If Skull Merchant stays as is for longer before her rework, survivors will switch to builds to hold the killer hostage, and it's going to become a vicious cycle because it's always how this community has worked.
I think nobody wants the meta to becoma the "holding hostage" meta, do they?
If you don't have time to play out a game, then don't.
I can assure you if the devs killswitch merchant when she's not broken because of complaints on the forums, then I'll do the exact same thing for survivor perks and items. Because that's the floodgate you want to open.

There are plenty of bugs that don't get carry a kill switch, so I am sure that even if this one is not a bug and just a heavy design mistake they can do something about it and prevent the game from getting severely hurt in a time that it needs to remain on top of the competition against other games + sell their upcoming content.
The killswitch is meant to disable things that are bugged in a way that negativelyy impact the game. Skull Merchant is not bugged. She is working as intended.
The worst thing the devs could do is disable a killer for months (likely over a year), because some people don't like playing against them.
-
This is not what the killswitch is for.
-
We get people who complain when the health updates aren't what they specifically want.
Accessibility updates get people attacking those with disabilities.
Reworks get people complain about how the update is broken or ruined the killer.
Meta shake ups have people complain that their favorite perk was nerfed.
Not to mention every patch has a list of bug fixes,so it's not like they aren't fixing bugs. Just some stuff is a lot harder to fix than others and the more you mess with code the more likely you introduce new bugs.
Reducing the number of chapters to work on health chapters simply wouldn't make the community happy.

Which part of "Yes, sometimes I will just go play killer even though I don't really want to at that time but cmon..." you didn't understand?
Also...not really a solution, is it? Maybe I don't have a lot of killers? Maybe I don't have a lot of perks on killers? Maybe I'm bad at killer? Maybe I just don't feel like playing the killer at the moment...Thank god people like you are not devs...
The issue of long survivor queues time is because there's not enough killers. If you don't feel like waiting in queue, play the side that has the quickest queue times.
You have the solution to the problem, you just don't want to.
-
You could play killer instead

They are. They have already announced and explained their solution to it. Only thing we don't know is when it's coming.
We do know it's coming out before next year's anniversary as it's a change announced for Year 7.

And if we now add luck offerings you basically don't need to go for unhooks in first stage and can just continue to slam gens, that idea is just terrible overall. Deliverance or Slippery Meat already give you enough stuff to possibly unhook yourself.
Luck Offerings and Up the Ante stack AFAIK.
The best Luck offering is 3% for the entire team x4 which is 12%
Up The Ante is 9% x4 for 36%.
25% base + 4% slippery meat gives you a base chance of 77% which ends up with 99.99% chance.
But with the proposed change, you really only need Slippery Meat and 4x Luck Offerings as that sets you to a 95% chance. If one person runs up the ante, that becomes 98% chance.
You would need to lower the chance of self hook to 1 attempt and it would still be a buff over the current 11% chance.
-
@TastiPretzel said:
Its because the rank resets every 13th of the month. The matchmaking has nothing to do with their hours in the game, but their current in game rank. Your opponents will be much lower in skill as time passes, until the next 13th of the month.
This is not the case. Ranks got changed to grades and Grades do not affect matchmaking. DBD now uses MMR which is completely hidden and supposedly decays if you haven't played in a while.
The main problem is that it seems when people dodge out of a lobby, the system ignores MMR in order to fill up the lobby and likely OP is being thrown into lobbies where someone had dodged.
-
@ARTRA said:
Sorry mate and i really dont want to sound rude by any means.
25% its an insane OP number. And i mean broken as heck as never in dbd before lvls of broken.
Now in a more detailed reason.
Just with slippery meat that allow you to try 6 times to selfunhook it means that you will scape for free almost always at any time.
Hooks its the pressure killers have to makes other survivors stop doing gens and go for the rescue. If you remove that there will be no point in hooking so slug time or omegafacecamped waiting you to selfunhook.
Sorry if you have bad teammates but that its not the solution.
Just for some numbers:
25% chance to unhook would be the equivalent of a ~58% that a survivor unhook themselves in the 3 attempts base.
Slippery Meat becomes 29% chance with 6 attempts for ~87% chance to unhook. With Up the Ante it becomes 94%.
If this change went through, Slippery Meat would be unironically meta and killers would be forced to camp hooks when the survivor is in 1st state, because the risk they can just unhook themselves is too high.
-
A combination of every strong gen regression perk getting nerfed and no benefit to spreading out hooks causes tunneling to be the go-to strategy.
I honestly don't know what survivor expect to have happened.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
The comp players are really ruining it for me. I miss the fun dbd. TCM is definitely a fun party game.
So we can have old Moris where the killer just needs to down a survivor and 115 Nurse with 7 blinks.
-
Increasing the duration of the endurance effect will make the perk brainless to use.
It's perfectly useful as is.
-
What would a rank mode actually bring to the game? MMR is hidden and there's no public leaderboard so there's nothing to really show off how will you do.
-
Killer prevention system will never work since the killer player queues up to play as a killer and killers are not equally popular. Add in the fact that 4 survivors can all have a different last faced killer and getting games is going to take forever.
-
Because we need survivors to be able to waste 2 minutes on time being spiteful on hook.
The mechanic exists as to not waste time. The last survivor is unlikely to escape at that point and there's no reason to drag the game out any longer. Just accept you lost and move on.
-
Oblivious Survivors will scream regardless how close they are to the killer.

That sucks though there’s no windows on game
There's a few windows.
There's the one above the meat grinder, the one in the freezer, and there's one by one of the exit gates.

I imagine this perk is very deadly on Lery's, but outside of Lery's I can't think of a map with enough windows to really justify it.

If Otz cared more about money I think they would literally play any other game.
While DBD is popular in the horror game scene, you need to remember that it is only a smaller portion of gaming as a whole.
And if they cared about money, I dont think they would go through the trouble of making several hour long guides that only really help new players.
I think Otz just looks at things a lot more critically than most people do, considering how casual the playerbase is for DBD to begin with.
Otz does play other games. It's just people watch Otz for DBD so he ends up always going back to DBD. He's built up an audience around DBD and it's very hard to break into popular games who already have huge streamers for those games.
He's definitely sticking with DBD, because it's where he gets views.
-
Honestly I think the fact that nearly every new killer perk has to alert survivors is largely unnecessary and leads to many perks being a lot weaker to use than they could have been.
Yet we don't ever see the same thing for survivor perks. Survivors perks rarely tell the killer about them before they go off.
I think this general direction will be bad for the game, because it just means killers get added layers of frustration for trying to create fun builds.
-
I'm sure most people who play Skull Merchant genuinely enjoy playing her. I don't think most players are going to keep playing a killer they don't actually enjoy.
-
Pain Res makes you scream. They added it back, because they didn't want it to work with Merciless Storm.
-
@ReverseVelocity said:

It countering Pain Res is only super useful when it's paired with DMS. Face the Darkness is also a really niche (and really bad) perk that has like 300 different ways to counter it, and you're essentially handicapping yourself due to the totem cleanse speed reduction. If the killer has Thrill then it's even worse. You counter FTD sure, but you make Thrill far more powerful which isn't really worth it when you can just heal to get rid of FTD.
Jolt isn't even meant to have a scream function, and is a bug, so that application will be useless once fixed.
Calm Spirit does not counter Pain Res/DMS. You still get forced off the gen, you just don't scream. DMS will still activate showing the killer that you were working on that gen.
As for Jolt, Jolt on release made survivors scream. At some point it stopped causing survivors to scream and was never mentioned in a patch notes. The devs haven't confirmed whether or not Jolt screaming is intended by design.

Nah he is bad though. The EMPs make him bad.
Survivors like him because he's a plaything to them. They literally can't control whether he gets to use his power or not which is total BS.
The fact that survivors do not complain about Singularity should tell people he's bad. But some people are always going to insist there's some super secret way to play him that people haven't figured out in 2 months that makes him so broken.
Even though for the same amount of effort you could just play Nurse and dominate. Hell Nurse probably requires less effort for a better reward.
-
It's ok. Not screaming has a few niche applications and not alerting crows can help with stealth.
As for the penalty, it's unneeded but I don't think it makes the perk worse.
Ultimately the perk is just niche and it's hard to consistently get value from it which is not helped by having a random penalty attached to it.

If a killer wants you out of the game they will get you out of the game unless they suck big time.
The game is designed for the killer to catch up to you at some point and if they want to tunnel you out you're out.
Exactly. If the team of survivors is better they can beat the killer.

I want interactions in my game.
Dead Hard has a lot more going for it in terms of interactions than anything Made For This provides. The game felt interesting and a lot more active when Dead Hard was meta.
I know a lot of people may disagree with my opinion, but Im willing to die on this hill, the Made For This meta is horrible and should be burned with a flamethrower.
What interaction do killers really have against Dead Hard. Just wait until the survivor uses it too early? Very interactive.
If you prefer Dead Hard to MFT, that's fine though I run both since they work pretty well together. But claiming DH is more interactive is just not it.
-
Tunneling isn't unstoppable and the other 3 survivors can attempt to protect the person being tunneled.

Well yeah, of course. But do they read it? the vast majority of these suggestions are ignored both through lack of reply and lack of action. What I'm saying here is that some feedback on our feedback would be appreciated so we know whether or not we're wasting our time.
The devs told us it takes a year to develop a chapter from start to finish. They told us they are working on an anti facecamping system for this year something that's been constantly complained about on the forums.
It's very clear the devs do read the feedback, but many things aren't simply fixes and it's going to take time to implement.
Plus you're also making an assumption that all feedback is good. Sometimes people complain about things that aren't actual problems. The devs simply have to pick and choose what things to act on and then spent time developing it. They aren't going to throw out a fix for everything little piece of feedback the following week.
-
You do know reading feedback and commenting on feedback are two different things.
-
For the average player he just isn't very fun to play as and isn't very effective to warrant using over other killers.

It's not healthy for the game, neither are the perks which increase gen speed, both points can co-exist.
When its used to shave time off chase it isn't being abused, it's the Hook camping situation that STBFL is problematic, killers defending it are just tonedeaf as per usual. It enables a lazy playstyle which is popular which is why so many people like it.
The problem is that any killer that just wants to hook camp has access to killers whose powers already have reduced cooldowns or have the ability to instant down the unhooker.
Targetting STBFL because if the killer goes around stacking it up, it can be strong at hooks is just nonsense.
Devs are already working on a system to help against facecamping so there's no reason to nerf STBFL over it.

wouldnt be too hard to hijack the hud, thats never a good argument against this.
Because we need to make a killer that makes solo survivor experience worse. The HUD was added to help bridge the gap between Solo and SWF. We don't need a killer to remove it.
-
If you think AI survivors are better teammates, then just play customs.
-
So you were having internet issues and decided to keep trying to play a multiplayer game knowing your connection wasn't great.
You brought it on yourself.
-
You could play Nurse without using your power and 4K and people will call it boring. You simply can't please your opponents and you should focus on your own fun rather than your opponents.
-
Shapeshifting as a disguise doesn't really work as a power itself. You are better off having the undetectable status effect and most killers who can go undetectable have other abilities to their powers besides just undetectable.
Not to mention, survivors got updates to their hud, so it's a lot easier to keep track of your teammates that a killer disguised as someone else is going to be hard to fool survivors on.
-
I stopped, because I ran into too many survivors who still trash talk after being given hatch. Not really going to waste energy giving a free escape to people who don't appreciate it in the first place.
-
@luvcraft said:
LOL, lots of people here whose idea of a good time is getting hooked in the first 5 seconds of the game and spending the next 2 minutes watching their teammates hide in lockers as they die on the hook.
A great thing about PTB is that there's no DC penalty, so if I see that I've gotten into that predicament I can just DC and immediately find another match and try again. And with bots I know that if someone DOES get around to unhooking my character, there will at least be a bot to play the rest of the match and give them a fighting chance.
Without DC penalty, if I want out I DC and am replaced by a bot. With DC penalty, if I want out I have to hook suicide and the survivors are down one player. DC penalty actually makes it WORSE for the survivors who stay in the game.
DC penalty is just another one of the billion poorly-thought-out things that makes solo q a terrible experience, but has zero bearing on SWF where the game actually has problems.
I'm not sure why you keep queueing up to play a game if you are just looking for a reason to quit out of the match early.

By that logic there would be nobody for the people who want to play with their friends to face.
I don't mind it too much, but let's call it what it is: playing with friends has advantages that make it significantly easier to "win" in this game. Denying it is just lying to yourself.
I'm just saying, if playing against SWF is such an impossible task then rather risk finding yourself in that situation don't queue up as killer.
No need to punish people who want to play games with friends when you can already avoid playing against them.

This is a fair point, but it's an equally fair point that killers don't want to play against a team that has a built-in advantage. Even more so if they're using comms.
You can already choose to not play killer. No need to hurt people who just want to play some games with friends, because you can't handle it.
-
@Nos37 said:

Killers are getting punished because survivors just want to play with their friends...
...and stack perks
...and strategize perks
...and use comms to call out the killer's plays
...and coordinate insane bodyblocks and endurance plays
If it were truly "oh, we just want to play with our friends," then the devs can take away all those extra benefits and SWF should be absolutely fine with it. (They won't be) So that excuse does not work.
Players using things in the game is not a punishment.
-
So people get punished trying to play DBD with their friends with longer queue times. Those people find a different games to play. You basically want to tank DBD's playerbase.
-
What's funny is these people insist they should be able to not play DBD, but they still chose to queue up. You would think they would take their own advice and not force themselves to play a game they aren't enjoying.
