I'm just wondering why you are still here if all you talk about is quitting.
-
Ultimately there is 4 perk slots so adding more aura reading to the game doesn't change that killers can only select 4 perks.

At the end of the day, that is not what it is at all. Please move along.
There's no special control for the killer to move over a dying survivor's body. It's all basic killer controller movement.

yeah idk, I think there's a clear difference here between what is being perpetuated via the 'basic movement controls' in both of these situations
at least online player reports w/ video attachments of these types of actions should be dealt with differently than their usual 'slugging is not a bannable offense' response. Not to mention you they're not progressing the game and it's borderline holding you hostage but bhvr refuses to acknowledge it for what it is when it happens because they can't deduce 'intent'. I guess..
Slugging a survivor to death isn't holding the game hostage since the game will end once the slugged survivors' bar drains to 0.

Hey, friend, we get it. It is clear the sort of killer behavior you enjoy. But you can't speak for the devs and we don't need your continued trivializing of the issue. It is not helpful or productive.
This isn't the first time someone has brought this up and it likely won't be the last, but ultimately there's just not really anything you can realistically expect the devs to do about an issue whose core is from basic killer movement controls.

I don't think support will ban people when there's any doubt that the player is acting 100% maliciously. When this is done, it's pretty clear when the killer is doing it deliberately.
I've seen a few sexual assault survivors weigh in on this issue in various different places, and this is a different deal than just teabagging. The connotations of W-Sing on a downed Survivor are a lot more serious, and consistently triggering.
Whether this is something that can be feasibly actioned is up to BHVR, but it's quite clear that this is in a different ballpark than just teabagging.
Both are BM and both are innately representing sexual acts. They really aren't that different.
Ultimately there's really nothing that will be done about this. BHVR can't just remove the killer's ability to walk. You can't just dish out bans for reports that basically boil down to "the killer moved" since most people don't record their gameplay and many likely aren't aware support tickets can be used to submit evidence of an in-game report.

If someone is "humping" a downed Survivor for an extended period of time maliciously and there is video evidence of that, then I'm pretty sure that's easy to prove.
At the end of the day, it's just the killer moving over a downed body which can happen for many reasons. I don't see this being anything that will result in bans, because otherwise we would have seen bans for survivor teabagging.
-
@ReverseVelocity said:

That's kind of a silly way to discount that. That's like asking why someone got banned for throwing slurs in the end game chat, they were only just typing on their keyboard after all.
There's a quite a difference between using slurs at people in end game chat where there is a clear log proving it happened vs proving movement controls of a character were being used nefariously.
-
Both are pretending to be engaging in a sex act. If you really care about this issue you should be against both teabagging and walking over a downed body.
But at the end of the day enforcing any rules against either action is just not going to happen, because both situations are people using controls in game.

The OP specifically said taking action on a killer standing over a prone survivor for a certain amount of time. That amount of time could be set at a length that makes it extremely unlikely that it's just a newbie killer struggling to get the pickup prompt.
I don't think you really understand how silly it is to ban people for using basic controls.

But simulating sex over them should be, which is the entire point of the post.
Survivors have been teabagging at killers for years. Are you going to suggest we also start banning survivors for crouching in the vicinity of the killer, because it's simulating a sex act?
-
Take action on what exactly? The killer moving over a downed survivor isn't against any rules.
-
Survivors wanted Skull Merchant killed, Killers get Distortion killed.
-
I don't really get making it a free great for missing. It being a free good for missing was fine. Making it an aura instead of being attached to working on a gen with someone else would have been fine buff to the perk. Yeah it wouldn't see a lot of use in high MMR games, but I question trying to make every perk equally useful in every MMR bracket. It's fine if some perks see more use in lower MMR games compared to higher MMR ones.
-
Aura Reading is hardly a real issue imo. The better player will still win and facing killers that are utilizing tracker perks beats having games go on forever because you have to burn through all their defense perks first.
-
A single survivor perk shouldn't be able to completely counter all aura reading. It's also not like Distortion is the only option.
OTR blocks auras for a duration after unhook.
Boon: Shadow Step blocks auras in an area.
Lockers block auras and are still effective against BBQ and Friends til the End where the trigger is obvious.
The nerf to distortion also opens up more design space for other aura blocking perks now that Distortion doesn't innately cover everything.
-
Okay, bye.

Yeah, that is going to be worst killer in DBD.
Worse than Freddy.
Right into garbage, why is balancing so difficult for devs sometimes?
No haste and bad hindered? She is useless in chase without haste. You never get to hindered anyway.
Only one line? So she is forced to spam changing direction... That was supposed to be removed, not forced.
No scout drones, so basically impossible get claw trap outside of chase.
That's worst rework I have seen in my life. Sadly because of mods, I am not allowed to give my honest opinion about how bad this is.
Because the goal is not balance here. It's solely to please survivors who'll find something else to complain about and rage quit against that.

From a power standpoint, his rework wasn't bad.
I know mains like you have a problem with the rework because it completely changed his playstyle.

Not crazy about mori offerings being another way for killers to gain BP on top of what they already get base. Most simply use pudding anyway.
Distortion getting gutted on top of two additional aura reading perks.
The dev notes assume Zanshin would lead to more winnable mindgames but let's be honest...the majority of pallets have clear LoS and favor killers anyway. If anything it makes jungle gyms and shack more manageable.
I don't understand the need for Blood Rush to get Conspicuous Action or end game restrictions.
Blood Rush is being changed to an anti-tunnel perk like DS and OTR where it provides a bonus after each unhook, but doesn't work after the gens are done since at the point it's a free for all to escape.

@totallynotamegmain said:
Funny thing about freddy is he was complained about because new players didn’t want to learn that self care countered his entire power
Needing to run self-care just to counter a single killer wasn't a good design. The addition of the clocks I think were the best idea BHVR had when it came to Freddy.
Honestly his rework wasn't even bad, but they eventually nerfed all the good aspects of his kit, because like SM survivors hated the fact he had a build that could slow down gens effectively.
-
BHVR refuses to address the fact that survivors can hook suicide and the Skull Merchant nerfs basically show if survivors hook suicide against a killer, BHVR will destroy that killer.
Expect to see more survivors killing themselves on first hook.
-
Really not surprised. Survivors refused to even attempt to learn to play against her so survivors get coddled by nerfing a mid-tier killer to garbage.
-
You know you can always play sweaty too. It is a pvp game.
-
Considering the stats are from months ago, I imagine they aren't reflective of where he settled since his release.
I also don't think there's much to make Venca more "noob friendly" each individual power is pretty straightforward.
Personally I think Venca is in a fine spot
-
In a world where both sides are equally appealing# the bonus will still favor survivors due to the need of 80% of the playerbase to queue as survivor.
Frankly this makes using the bonus bp multiplayer useless for determining how bad or good each side is.

This is where I keep asking what do survivors want?
Killer runs gen defense - "OMG killer boringgg, cry for nerfs
Killer plays X Killer - snore "boooringgg" insult insult insult
Killer like Huntress runs Aura builds for potential snipes, considered op, boring and needs nerf
Killer runs meme build - insert complaint here
I say this from my experience as well I have even done things like walking Nurse builds, Wolf only Dracula, Gimmick builds and still people come into my chat to complain or leave a trash Steam comment, I just don't know what these people want. PvE Killers? They just want you to play perkless and like a bot so they can get easy clips of flashlight saves and tbags at exit gate.

@MarbleThrone said:
Where exactly did you read it's going to be nerfed?
All it says in the Sep-Oct section of the roadmap is Perk Updates. That can be anything.Distortion is 100% getting a nerf and frankly how distortion charges come back does need a change.
-
It got added, because 99% of the time being able to unhook as the last survivor on hook didn't change the outcome and only wasted time since a salty survivor could also just force a killer to wait a full 2 minutes as well.

That's still assuming your teammates actually will heal you or not. Unless you run with a SWF team your pretty much Screwed as a solo queue player.
We can't be balancing the game around bad survivor players.
-
@LadyOwO said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3794726#Comment_3794726
When you Solo Queue Self Heal is a must because your teammates are more likely to leave you to the mercy of the killer rather than heal you at all. Plus the fact that Thanatophobia punishes people for not being 100% healthy, and combined with sloppy butcher makes the match a complete slog to get anything done. Especially against Legion players who stack slowdown perks
You have options for self healing. They just come at a cost. It simply cannot be more efficient to self heal compared to being healed by an ally.
Also Thana isn't even a good perk on most killers and sloppy already got nerfed with a limited duration.
-
Survivors shouldn't be able to heal themselves reliably without a cost. Right now there's plenty of options that either take up perk slots or are an item with limited uses. We don't need to be back in the days of CoH where injuries meant nothing.
-
There's a challenge in one of the archives to use potential energy. Might just be someone doing their challenge.

I will never agree with the devs on this it's wrong and stupid. No game should ever penalize a player for not wanting to waste time with try hards and bullies no one should be forced to. The penalty should stay at a 5min timer always if they want a timer so bad.
if you don't queue up, you don't get a penalty for not playing dbd
-
Do you want to be slugged on the ground? Because this is how you get slugged on the ground.
No killer is going to spend time hooking a survivor if there's no pressure to be gained from the time spent doing so.
-
When killer nerfs that have been focused on making pressure from hooks weaker, killers are going to find alternative means to build pressure.
-
@kingchris200 said:
Sorry but no one should be punished if they choose to quit for whatever reason. This needs to ne removed asap.
You should absolutely be punished for consistently leaving games. If you are leaving games enough that the penalty is a real hinderance to you, then you need to really consider if you enjoy DBD and are not wasting your time "playing" a game you don't enjoy.

We killer mains have that too, but we at least have ground to stand on. I mean, what good perks are there anymore besides Rancor? Good survivors just power through everything else. Look at Dracula, who straight-up can't get them if they're good, the same as any M1. But survivors want to keep using bottom level statistics to decide what's good balance or not.
I know there are Killer mains who act like victims too. But man are the forums flooded with survivors acting like victims over every single thing lately.
-
Pallets are simply the main tool survivors have in chase and killer powers that don't help end chase faster are just not good.
Billy, Leatherface, and Blight while don't innately ignore pallets have tools to break them faster. Trapper can trap the otherside of a pallet which in a way ignores the pallet. Technically Hag can trap pallets too.
If there was more elements in the game for survivors to interact with in chase, then we may see a bigger variety of powers rather than "how well does killer handle the loop".
-
I'm starting to think survivor mains have a victim complex
-
Maybe instead of blaming the game for your loss streak, you took the time to recognize mistakes you made and how you could improve, you could minimize your loss streak.

Franklin's was also nerfed to not drop Killer related items around the time Singularity was released which meant Pinhead/Wesker/Nemesis couldn't go around hitting said items off Survivors' hands. The perk is literally a shadow of its former self.
For most killer items, it didn't really come up that much. The best user was pinhead but pinhead also got a faster box downing the survivor rather than use franklins so it's arguable whether it was an improvement.
But it was another nerf it got, just one I don't think really impacted much.

Imagine players being so controlling in this community, they cannot allow players to avoid them because they know their habits are unhealthy. I just want to play my silly party horror game.
Oh might I also add how many people lobby shop to do the exact same thing in a worse way, yet how many of you defended that hm?
Let me see the killers name in the lobby, then we can agree. We don't agree at all. I feel like you would be better spent playing a game you actually enjoy instead of asking for hour long queues.

I mean it makes the game more enjoyable for me, that's a plus in my books, it's not abuse if I have only so many slots and I use it on someone I don't like playing with its smart.
Same way said people "abuse" gameplay mechanics, your words not mine :)You are aware people can block you for not playing in a way they find fun as well.
You're just asking for a system that causes everyone to have longer queue times.

You can leave feedback about what you would like to see change, but "demanding" changes is a bit much.
Also with the context of his topic complaining about how everyone in the game is intentionally being toxic towards each other, I think OP just needs to take a break from the game.

Given the other topic you made, I think you really should just take a break away from the game.

I don't know, having up to 16 seconds of free, safe, telegraphed time, per survivor, per hook, plus travel time away from a hook has been pretty glaring lately in erasing pressure. Post-2v8 realizations I suppose.
It's not even just the post 2v8. The anniversary event had instant hooking which really helped showed how much time got wasted hooking survivors as well.
Between +10s per hook stage, recent events adding in ways to speed up the hooking process, and punishments being added around the hook, it just makes sense to avoid hooking survivors as much as you can.
-
@adsads123123123123 said:
Slugging is still much slower than hooking since survivors rarely save at the last second.
it's slower if you only look at time to die. But an extra 10 seconds on each hook state makes a lot of hooks less threatening bc there's more time to save. Plus hooking has a second time cost bringing survivor to hook and survivors may need to be hooked 3 times each.
Downing a survivor has no extra cost and if you leave them slugged you can start pressuring other gens instead. Even if takes longer to kill everyone, you are often exerting more pressure than a hook
-
The penalty in no way prevents you from quitting. If you feel need the need to leave every match regardless of emergency, then maybe you just need to not play in the first place.
