I dont think it's a "give me a compensation", but rather t"Do you see how stupid this sounds?"
It is in fact "see how stupid this sounds"
-
Let killers pick 3 perks they never want to play against.

She was released in such a pathetic state I honestly doubt they even playtested the thing / looked at PTB feedback. The redirects, dog getting stuck, dog not being able to find its way, sometimes not even going… I think this chapter will compete with the Twins chapter for most egregiously incompetent launch.
Twins still holds the number 1 spot, because her chapter broke the entire game. From what I can tell the main issue with this chapter is the killer itself not working. Which is easy enough to not deal with.
-
It's funny how after survivors were complaining about killers using 4 aura perks and the distortion nerf despite nothing changing for aura reading it's now hex perks that are a problem.
-
People really haven't learned that adding basekit stuff to survivors has only made the game worse overall.
-
I don't see how this is a real problem. Just let killers have their fun.
-
The system was designed to handle killers facecamping. It is not meant to punish killers pressuring hooks from a distance.
-
So BHVR made it so gens are done faster the more hooks a killer gets in 2v8. So spreading hooks is not viable as you'll just lose gens. So your only options are to hyper tunnel survivors out of the game to limit how much free progress survivors get or to slug to avoid it completely.
-
If both killers focus their energy on you, you weren't going to last very long regardless.
-
I'm going to get the unhook points as it's the only useful things survivors rage quitting are worth.
-
i don't think 8 man slugging is really going to happen bc it's going to be way tougher to control the slugs and the medic power should be able to pick up recovered survivors.

Because a rescue in EGC is literally almost always a blunder if the killer simply doesnt make a mistake. Alternatively its more like for the killer to get kills from EGC so im not really sure where you got your “comparison”
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3834399#Comment_3834399
Because slugging just doesnt apply to the hatch, look at the person above me who literally recommended slugging at 5 gens. Slugging itself is to oppressive for the benefit it gives whilst lack of a risk, camping a slugged secures they bleed out with no way to defend themselves. And any survivor who attempts to join will join that pile
Killers slugging the entire team from the start of the game is not due to the mori update. There's been a lot of changes over the year and killers have slowly been experiencing better outcomes slugging than using hooks.
-
If people actually care about the solving the slug for 4K, they would be asking for hatch changes. This is nothing other than people wanting to remove a fun thing killers got.
-
The Mori update didn't change anything that wasn't already true.
Killers would want the 4K will slug the 3rd survivor to find the last survivor, because gambling over hatch is not worth it. The way hatch works is a problem and needs changes if you want to reduce the need of killers slugging for the 4K.
-
Weird choice of examples.
Boil Over was never a good perk. It's actually usable currently, but only in very degenerate strategies.
Adrenaline is pretty much the same perk as before minus healing off hook. You never should have been relying on the heal off of hook.
Distortion is now fair.
-
Survivors really just want to be slugged to death
-
Reverting the end game mori wouldn't change anything. Killers have been slowly realizing that hooks are simply not worth a lot and often the effort to hook survivors is worse than just leaving them on the ground.
-
The game is not balanced around killers going for 12 hooks, so locking moris behind this system would just result in moris not being used and survivors still being slugged out for the 4K.

dude the topic of the thread is tunneling and slugging should be punishable.
Also all numbers are accurate.
And yes killers are fragile and full of ego.
the simulator has made 4k so easy killers believe they are really good. Most killers are mediocre at best (myself included) but still get 4ks with ease because the game hands it to them.Oh look that survivor escaped, here’s a speed boost and an aura reveal so you don’t lose!! Hardly a challenge. It’s creates a false sense of ability thats not in the game.
2 of the first ten comments mention gen rushing (which again killers who defend slugging often are anti gen rush because it ruins their game)
Do keep up hun
It's really funny to claim that Killers are the ones who are fragile and full of ego when the this topic is literally a survivor wanting to ban killers for playing the game.

There is no "perma wall hacks" in the game. You're just exaggerating every aspect of the game and it's undermining your post. If I cared to I could turn it around on survivors, but it's disingenuous and intellectually dishonest to do so.
Actually there is perma wall hacks in the game. It's called WoO since the perk itself never goes on cooldown or has a condition in which it turns off.
-
If you do gens, open the exit gate, and leave you should be punished for it. Bannable even. Nothing more to say.
-
Besides being a hex, the windows only get blocked after a survivor fast vaults them. So it doesn't help much unless you have a map where you can herd survivors into an area of blocked windows. Then you still have the fact it's a hex and can be disabled by survivors.
It's definitely hard to justify over the other killer perks in the game.
-
well killers can still only bring 4 perks at a time
-
It's really the fact that each hook state was increased by 10 seconds and hooks have seen other nerfs over the past year as well. If it was just a 10 second increase, it wouldn't be a problem itself. But hooking has slowly been made riskier and less worth it.

The point I'm trying to make is that most Killers don't just bring Lethal. They also bring a bunch of other aura perks that will burn through Distortion tokens so quickly, you might never get it recharged again.
Besides, if Survivors don't run Distortion anymore because they think it's bad or low value compared to something else they could be bringing, the strength of Lethal becomes even greater than it was because no-one is bringing anything to counter it. I personally wouldn't waste a perk slot on Distortion these days.
Aura reading is incredibly strong on high mobility / sniping Killers like Nurse, Blight, Huntress and Billy because they can get very fast downs. Why have a perk that can make their aura builds even stronger? These Killers don't need slowdown if they can put the Survivors into a death spiral of continual hook saves.
Other aura reading perks killers can bring into the match are not triggering that soon after the game starts. Distortion will still block the initial Lethal Pursuer allowing survivors to get a start on their early game.
At some point survivors just need to learn how to play around these other aura reading perks, because many of them are pretty easy to spot and counter. Such as using lockers to avoid BBQ or Friends til the End.

In my games, I find that the Survivors need to have a good early start or it's typically a speedy GG for them. As soon as the Killer can start to build pressure, it can be a runaway train and from that point the Survivors are always on the back foot. For this reason, I dislike facing Lethal and always have (even before it became much more prevalent). It has the potential to turn the flow of the trial completely on its head very early. The Killer should be stronger towards the end of the trial, when Survivors begin to die, gens are harder to find (or easier to patrol if the Killer defends a cluster) and resources dwindle.
I don't know what could be done to nerf it besides reverting the Distortion nerf. I think the early start that it gives you is strong enough to justify removing the extra 2 seconds of aura reading that it gives to other perks.
Personally, I don't like imbalanced Killer loadouts that are all slowdown or all aura etc. I think Killers should be encouraged to mix up their builds and bring a little of everything to a trial.
Distortion still starts with a token and counters Lethal. So you wouldn't need to revert the perk for it to counter Lethal.
-
it does 2 things and the main thing is only active once at the start of trail. Hardly a perk that needs a nerf.
-
Sadako really only has her teleport as a power so it hardly needs a nerf.
-
If your SWF has a huge difference in skill difference, then you should expect to generally deal with difficult games until your group mmr's are closer together.
-
Skull Merchant honestly wasn't even the strongest 3 genner. She was just more prominent during the 3 gen meta, because her original kit didn't leave much play outside of 3 genning.
-
Unless I'm mistaken, it still lost the activation condition of needing to safe unhook or take a protection hit for the endurance on pickup. It's still good at countering slugging.
-
Honestly this would probably fit just as well as a bug fix rather than a balance change. I doubt BHVR intended Inner Focus to work with Plot Twist, they likely never even considered it.
-
You can tell which stage a survivor is on hook. And there's nothing stopping killers from just timing the hook stage like people did with DS.
I think this is largely an unnecessary change, because camping itself is not an actual problem.
-
The devs like to give buffs to unused perks, but half the time the buffs rarely change anything.

I love how Weave is still on the list, and its obvious they are going to nerf it, despite the fact that people have stopped using the combo because they realized having 2 perks that can be removed by spending 15 seconds pressing "r" is not good, and its better to run 2 more gen slowdown perks.
Weave really needed to be changed so it is usable by itself not just a combo piece, but ultimately there's little chance Weave is getting anything more than just Ultimate Weapon treatment.

Yeah, it's certainly a concerning thing to see up there. Especially as a Legion main.
I mean if they nerf Deep Wound, they can make Legion better, right? Right???
Legion isn't going to get any changes if they gut Deep Wounds even though Legion was responsible for Deep Wounds getting several different changes.
Personally I think the status is fine just as it is so I don't see why we need to change it again.
-
Not really looking forward to a Deep Wounds update

Start of the match they bee line toward a survivor, get the down, hook and reveal. Most likely they'll go for the nearest survivor. Once you see the auras you know who is who unless they are all playing the same survivor with the same skin the outlines are pretty discernable. Also thanks to aura reveal they know who is running injured, 9/10 it's a freshly unhooked survivor. Everytime you get an aura reveal are you going to run to the gen that's about to pop or the injured hook stage 2 survivor?
move inside the killers tr. Most killers won't have a tr longer than the range that bbq even reveals your aura

Killer knows if someone is in the Void.
He can reach platforms without using the vault (just using a M1) as survivors have to do.
Void contains no objectives for survivors, killers is rarely following/chasing someone in the Void…
Funny thing, even if survivors have a lot of pallets here, I usually think the tiles are short, square-shaped where a hit can easily from the top & the most of them results a free hit. The only 'safe pallet I've found here is between the 2 big strairs in the middle. All the others are meh.all 4 survivors don't need to be in the void at one time. If 1 survivor goes into the void and gets the killer to follow them, then the other 3 have time to get gens done without the killer able to stop them
-
You do know you can hop in a locker when the killer picks up a survivor and wait till after the hook bubble disappears to avoid bbq
-
The devs do read the feedback section and they do make changes based on feedback. The problem you are having is expecting them to make the exact changes people suggest

The duration was 45 seconds, but the cooldown was 60 seconds. If you got your 2nd hook 50 seconds after the 1st one it wouldn't do anything on the 2nd hook.
could have sworn it was 45 seconds for both cd and duration
-
@sizzlingmario4 said:
Yeah I agree. The change didn't make Blood Echo better overall since it only matters if you actually get 2 hooks within 60 seconds, and otherwise it's just weaker than before since the duration was reduced. It wasn't strong enough to warrant a compensation nerf at all and it should go back to 45 seconds with no cooldown.
You need to get 2 hooks within 45 seconds for this change to be better. If you got your 2nd hook at 50 seconds you would still be better off with the old one.

I think that this is the most tonedeaf answer to the problem, because its ignoring and turning away from the underlying problem and reason why 1) killers slug and 2) its more effective then hooking.
Over time Killers options got fewer and fewer, eith many playstyles becoming obsolete and umviable. While the elimination of undesirable playstyles is a good thing on the surface level, it also leads to frustration and the feeling of loss and being forced down one specific way.
While I am not defending the full on slug build, the community is very fast with issuing nerfs, bans or basekit solutions for everything. But every basekit option dilutes the perk variety and cements the meta further.
I think that we should either sweeten the deal for killers or work a way out to incentivice then down the more desirable actions. Let's Make Hooking Great Again.
also for things like basekit bt, it's still better to chase the unhooked survivor bc both survivors are 2 hit but one is closer to death.
If we really want 12 hook games to be the ideal way to play then we need the game to change so that killers are rewarded for 12 hooks. Sadly hooking does very little if it's not used to make someone dead.

I care about everyone's fun, that's why I encourage people to play in a way that everyone gets to experience the widest range of gameplay mechanics available. When survivors consistently win chase, killers still get the chance to play hide-and-seek, to play tag, to kick gens; the only thing they don't get to experience is hooking survivors, which I'm told by other members of this forum is something killers don't like doing anyway.
Moreover, I personally wouldn't find survivors giving me free hooks to be at all fun. I will keep it in mind that you personally think it's reasonable for killers to expect that from survivors, though
You defined fun by bloodpoints. A killer not getting hooks is not getting bloospoints. Yet it's totally fine to not give killers free hooks so they can enjoy bp.
Killers yet are expected to make sure every survivor gets enough bp by playing in a way that is effectively throwing.

Survivor definition of unfun: killer plays in a way that everyone, killers and survivors, gets the minimum total possible amount of gameplay interactions imaginable
Killer definition of unfun: survivor plays in a way
i don't see survivors giving killers free hooks if the Killer hasn't been able to catch survivors. Don't you care about the killer fun?
-
I've been constantly told we can't punish people for not wanting to play as a justification to hook suicide so the same logic should follow for quitting during loading.

Yes and you do any actions at all the effects go away and if you do not use your being useless to your team. If they didnt add that dumb pity Conspicuous actions to it then yeah it was op before now it is not.
conspicuous actions is only for endurance. It still blocks auras and makes you silent for the full duration.
-
Personally, I never liked Scourge Hooks mechanical and for the similiar reason as Hexes. Relying on RNG to get value from your perks just feels bad.
