Distortion starts with 1 token but it has a cap of 2.
-
I don't see how this makes the fact she got several nerfs in one go any better.
-
You have to hook all 4 survivors once to get the 40 second gen blocking. Spreading hook states to all 4 survivors is just not very efficient since it's far better to focus on 1 or 2 survivors and get an early death.
-
killers still only have 4 perk slots doesn't really matter that they have many different options when they can only use 4 at a time.
-
not hooking survivors is already a loss in bloodpoints.

Because one is already solvable by just forcing them out. Is it annoying? Sure. But you can do something about it.
When it comes killers wasting time, there’s absolutely nothing you can do aside from eat a DC penalty. Last week I had a killer slug for the 4k harder than I’ve ever seen. Left me bled out for 3 minutes and then when I was nearing bleed out (and they still hadn’t found the fourth survivor), they kept picking me up and dropping me until I wiggled out, then they’d down me again. Rinse and repeat. I just DCed after like the 4th wiggle out.
if it's fine for survivors to waste time then it's fine for killers to do so.

Doesn't need anything else but m1 when he can insta down you immediately plus he has stealth and surprise. You say ghost face is a low ranked killer yet every other match is a ghost face and there are many who main him.
Ghostface according to Nightlight only beats Trickster and Good Guy in Kill Rate. He's not good even if he sees decent usage.

Yes an issue with broken mechanics. Slugging.
Again if a purely M1 killer is 4 man slugging without survivors ever resetting, the issue isn't the killer.
All it takes is for a survivor to bring Ghostface on a chase longer than the expose duration and other survivors can pick up the slugs and still progress on gens.

Yes because 4 downs for an instant win is fair when survivors have 5 gens to work on. lol Take ghost face for example 3 people working on a gen oops all exposed and down. Oh look lets slug the last survivor! Oh look game over in 2 minutes. lol
Ghostface is one of the worst killers in the game. If you're losing to a Ghostface 4 man slugging, you have bigger issues.

Because I don't want them to remove sabos. If they want to suicide saving someone carried easier game for me.
Then they shouldn't remove slugging, because you can't remove slugging and still give survivors the option to deny hooks.

Clearly you are a beginner if you don't know sabo squads basically suicide themselves taking away hooks. lol Also I stand by what I say. There are multiple ways to deal with sabo squads. Go to the many other hooks in the map when you see the kneel or just whack them. They lose more than they gain. But it don't take 60 seconds to down them and hook them all. Get good.
if you think sabotage is a bad strategy why are you against removing it for also removing slugging?

Boons are worthless as killers can snuff them in a second and soul guard isn't good either as you have to be hexed. Either we need base kit unbreakable 60 seconds or we need to start talking unbreakable buff to more than a one time thing getting up.
Again, if you want to remove slugging then you need to remove the ability for survivors to prevent hooks.
-

There is a perk lightborne that negates ALL light saves. What do survivors have against slugging? 1 perk unbreakable that saves you ONCE. You tell me what sounds fair.
Survivors have other perks besides unbreakable such as Boon: Exponential and Soul Guard. Also Lightborn doesn't negate pallet saves or sabotages whereas Unbreakable aids against slugging due to the faster recovery and 1 time pick up.
If you want slugging to not be a thing in the game, then you also need to address the killer's ability to hook survivors as it would be unfair to force killers into situations where they cannot hook the survivor they just downed so they are forced to be punished.
-
If you want to remove slugging, remove flashlight/pallet saves and remove sabotages. That way killers can always immediately hook a survivor after a down.

Bro its your own issue for not going to the exit gate to force them out, expecting them to just leave. There are things we can do to get points during end game collapses, it's on you for not finishing the game. But you choosing to slug someone for 4 minutes is toxic and wasting someones time.
It's your own issue if you don't alt tabbed out while slugged.
If you want to waste time, don't complain when you get your own time wasted.
-
@BroRespectTheBoop said:

Survivors staying in a gate is at max an extra 10 seconds? Killers slugging at 5 gens and leaving you on the ground to bleed out is 4 minutes. They are not the same.
Wasted time is wasted time. IF it's fine for survivors to wait in exit game to bm the killer, then there isn't an issue with killers slugging and bming. As the game will end on it's own either way.
-
It's always funny how survivors wasting time gets defended. Neither side should be intentionally prolonging the game just to BM.

He is obviously better, but he still feels awful.
Snares are an imrpovement, but placing a Dream Pallet is unnecessarily complicated now. To place one, you have to:
- Switch to Pallet mode.
- Look at the spot for a fake pallet.
- Hold the pallet placement button.
- Press the confirmation button.
Why is something as simple as placing a Dream Pallet so convoluted?
If you've played Freddy before, you'll remember how smooth and quick it used to be. Placing Dream Pallets took just one button press, meaning you could do it seamlessly, even while chasing someone. After these changes, it’s no longer a single, fluid motion. Instead, you're stuck doing clunky button presses that make it impossible to use effectively in a chase.
I don’t understand why BHVR keeps designing powers in this clunky way, where you have to cycle through options, instead of simply assigning them to different keybinds. The fact that you have to keep switching between pallet and snare mode means you can't use both of your powers in a loop to increase their effectiveness, it's either one or the other.
It's largely due to controllers. DBD on consoles doesn't support keyboard/mouse and controllers are more limited in the number of buttons available for use.

its a feature now, specifically added to the game
I don't agree with it much either
Since dream pallets always break on throw, you can get value from Hubris.
-
@H2H said:
It’s pretty silly for a killer’s own power to be a negative against them.
I mean Vecna has the same thing with resetting pallets with Mage Hand.
The bright side is Dream Pallets break immediately like party pallets and Freddy can trigger Hubris off of being stunned this way. So it opens a perk synergy that other killers do not have.

The suggestion I made in this post though would resolve it in a less one-sided way though without encouraging slugging. Your suggestion would encourage slugging for moris as well as slugging for 4Ks and removing a lot of chances of counterplay with anti slugging perks like unbreakable.
It's called the finisher mori. If everyone else in the trial is unable to progress the game, then the killer should just be allowed to initiate the mori and end the game there.
Instead of punishing killers for winning, we should just make the finisher mori not require wasting time in the first place.

It was slugging, but he already had achieved the 4K. He could've hooked me easily, he knew where I was. The issue I have was that he didn't simply hook me, and the reason was that he didn't just want a 4K, he wanted a mori. He wasn't slugging for a 4K, he was slugging for a mori. Do you understand what I'm saying now?
This post is about slugging for moris, not slugging for 4Ks.
If you want to fix that, all you need to do is allow the mori to happen when all other survivors are either dead, slugged, or hooked instead of just when all other survivors are dead.
-
I watched some PTB Freddy and at the end of the day he's still a M1 killer.
You don't teleport on top of survivors healing so they have time to make distance. 3m radius for pallet rupture is small and apparently survivors can currently drop a rupturing pallet cancelling the rupture.
Like he's better now, but he still has the issue of being a M1 killer with limited ability to quicken chases.

This post isn't about slugging for a 4K.
I had a game where I was crawling towards the killer for 3.5 minutes trying to get him to hook me so I could move on to the next match, but he wouldn't because he wanted a mori.
Regarding slugging though, there are many reasons that players slug besides hatch mechanics. I would love a solution for slugging, but this post isn't about addressing slugging as a whole, just slugging for moris
That is slugging for the 4K.
-
The reason killers slug for the 4K is because of how hatch works. If you really want to address slugging for the 4K, you have to change Hatch away from an RNG escape for the last survivor.

I know the perk would still be bad then that's just the bare minimum it would take to sometimes get a hit with it.
The perk really needs to do something entirely new.
I realized I misread you statement on 60 seconds being how long undetectable should last and not you saying it takes 60 seconds for bloodlust to trigger.
-
@Yggleif said:
I've waited so long for them to buff this perk and this is such an absolutely garbage change. How do you look at a perk that you know is never used and it's finally time to do a pass on it and you just do this?
Bloodlust to trigger is just a concept that doesn't work in general but even if you wanted to do it this way the undetectable would have to last for 60 seconds to give you time to find another survivor and even then the perk is still bad just accomplishes what the perk is kinda trying to do.
Bloodlust 1 takes 15 seconds of no power, no breaking pallet, not M1 hits to trigger.
-
@sizzlingmario4 said:
Eh. I'll try it on the PTB, but I doubt it will be much better.
There are much better ways to get undetectable than this, using Bloodlust as a trigger condition is far more inefficient than just using Unforeseen or something lol.
Imo Bloodlust as a trigger condition just doesn't work in general
The current live one gives you undetectable while you have bloodlust, no duration. There really isn't anything new to try really.

I mean, you would just be wasting time at that point if you spent the previous chase gaining bloodlust just to drop the chase and try finding someone else…
Yes you would. But it's the only "benefit" this version has over the previous one.
-
The perk never really did much of anything, because survivors would still hear the chase music and killers can already mindgame their red stain at tiles.
The one benefit is I guess you could hit BL1, get undetectable, then drop chase and catch someone else off guard. But with only 20 seconds and needing to hit BL1 this isn't an efficient use of time.

the system would already be an incentive to make people play less popular killers
plus adding a bp bonus to anything killer does would just make the killer queue times even longer for everyone involved
thats why the bp bonus in the loppy is mostly survivor. (atleast in my region n mmr)The reason why the BP bonus tends to be on survivor is because 80% of the players in a lobby need to be survivors for the game to start. BVHR isn't trying to make survivor the most appealing role making it so no one really wants to play killer so their focus is trying to make both roles equally enjoyable so people who want to chase after BP bonus won't care which side the bonus is on.
-
Killers queue up as a killer they want to play as. They can't change once in a lobby. The problem that would quickly occur is that matchmaking queue times would explode.
-
Tunneling is kind of baked into the core gameplay loop. A lot of "remove tunneling" suggestions just brute force in a way that would punish killers for playing fair, because it gives the survivors something to weaponize.
If you want to remove tunneling completely you would need to completely change the core gameplay loop. The problem is that the game is doing fine now and such a drastic change could kill the game as much as it could improve the game.
-
It's available only for events and the devs ultimately get to pick which characters are free to try. They also said limited bloodweb so I imagine you can only go up to Bloodweb 50 and be unable to prestige so you can't just unlock their perks during the trial.
While it's good step, we'll have to see the actual implementation. BHVR has all the control over whom can be tried out for free.

Isnt that literally how old Freddy worked?
Old Freddy could force survivors asleep which is not lore accurate. You would have to remove that ability as well and you would have a killer who couldn't interact with the game at all for 60 seconds and as long as survivors keep themselves awake you couldn't do anything at all.
-
The snares only make the awake survivor fall asleep faster. They only get hindered when asleep. Also the snares only do half the sleep timer. It's a middle ground between the point and click put survivor asleep after 7 seconds from the original Freddy power to Freddy having to hit awake survivors to put them asleep.
Pallets were kind of bad when only asleep survivors saw them since it became easier to remember which ones were fake.
The main reason his powers now work on awake survivors so that the killer player isn't in a situation where they have effectively no power in chase.
-
Manually waking up a survivor becomes slower and slower each time you do it and nothing has stated this has been removed. Freddy has passive map pressure as survivors will have to spend time to keep themselves awake.

i agree. it is not cannon either. the blood splat should be invisible if your not in dream world but they do not want freddy strong.
The problem is if we went with a perfectly Lore accurate power, Freddy couldn't do anything until after Survivors fell asleep which he would have no ability to influence since he can't affect people who are awake. Which wouldn't be fun to play as.
It's fine that Freddy can interact with awake survivors in the trial even if not Lore accurate.
-
@Choaron said:
Realm repeat prevention is dumb. Not being able to get Ironworks just because you got Shelter Woods previous match is nonsensical.
The problem is you have realms like Badham whose maps are nearly identical outside of some different positioning which you could get back to back.
-
Release Freddy could see the auras of sleeping survivors who were outside of his TR. This addon change is more bringing back that old ability.
-
@Dustin said:
Does the teleport only work on the survivor being healed while asleep or can he target the awake one also since some perk interactions reveal both users?
I see how they're preventing unhook tunneling but that's quite a bit.
It's healing survivors. The healer must be asleep to tp. The survivor being healed can either.
-
They didn't say the charge time of snares was removed so placing a snare is likely the same, but now they move after being placed so they are offensive instead of traps.
-
He can't teleport to you healing if you are awake. You can wake up at any Alarm Clock now provided it's not on cooldown and you can fail a skillcheck to wake up since Paintbrush no longer prevents that.
-
@Devil_hit11 said:

does not matter. it is not lore accurate.
Freddy could teleport to gens regardless if survivors were asleep or not. Did you complain about that not being Lore accurate?
-
Pallets and Snares main effect on awake survivors is to make them fall asleep faster. Plus one of the biggest downsides to Pallets was that awake survivors didn't see them so it make it easy to figure out which were fake.

People work and have commitments, when they have time to play they don't want to spend it in miserable pointless matches. I'm not one to normally DC (I will try my best to get through a match) but if it's a killer with a full slugging build or Blight/Nurse with a full gen slowdown build i just wanna take my L and quickly move on.
I find that out of 5 matches I play normally 1-2 are actually worth while where everyone tried to do the objective and actually played otherwise it's normally killer slugging or tunneling really early or another survivor went next on hook.
Frankly if majority of matches you play you don't enjoy, then play something else. Forcing yourself to play a game you clearly aren't enjoying is not a good use of time.

Please name one survivor perk made 70-80% killers dc or give up. That was what SM did to survivors. If you are saying to me that leaving her alone was good i have no words for you but disagree. SM deserved what happened to her. I'd take rework but i guess devs did not have enough time. So they came with temporary solution.
Then I can only hope something you enjoy is gutted for the sake of making the game more fun for killers.
-
People have been claiming the game is on death's door for years now. We have a big patch coming up soon and people have gone back to work/school so it's not really surprising that the playercount has dropped currently.
-
I think I've only ever seen you post complaints to this forum. So where's your profile?
-
This doesn't sound like an issue with the killer playing not knowing how to have fun.
Also if the killer is doing so well they are in a position where 3 survivors are practically dead at 4 gens left, do you really want the killer to intentionally waste time keeping you in a match you've already lost?
