If the gen is regressing and the survivor is not holding a blood/gas can, then they're given a prompt to stop the leak by hand.
As an aside, the survivor is not awarded any Bloodpoints for stopping the leak by hand. Thanks, BHVR.
I legit knew none of this. Thank you.

As a survivor, I'm seeing killers run this perk more often recently.
But I'm not really sure how to counter it. I'm getting absolutely destroyed by this, especially when coming up against high mobility killers like Ghoul, Nurse and Blight.
I decided to start running Calm Spirit and Distortion but in my last game, after the last survivor was death hooked, I hid in a locker, still had a distortion stack, and yet the killer still knew to come right for me.
So is there any counter to this perk?
As soon as you know they have it, jump in a locker prior to a survivor being hooked and stay inside until the exposed status icon goes away. The locker will hide your aura

So I was just playing in a match, and the first downed surv went next on hook immediately. We remaining three played things out, another surv was sacrificed and it so it was down to two. My teammate was on death hook and got downed, and when they were picked up, I jumped in a locker because I suspected the killer had BBQ.
So here's where it got weird: she had been picked up for a while, long enough that she should have wiggled, and then the match just ended abruptly, and showed both of us as sacrificed, though she hadn't been hooked the final time, and I hadn't been hooked at all.
No network error, it showed we all got our BPS, but it showed both of us as sacrificed on the end game totals.
Is there some obvious explanation for this I am missing, or was it a bug? In almost six years of DBD I haven't seen this.
Sounds like no generators were completed within a 10 minute time frame and the Killer opted to use the new Abandon Match / Surrender feature. When the Killer activates it, the match declares the Survivors sacrificed.

Yes, they removed the Range Requirement entirely around 6 months ago with 8.3.0. The Perk is still not really good, which is probably why you did not notice it until now, but at least they removed the stupid part of being next to Survivors on Generators for it to work.
The only reason I even noticed was because I had the little green buff icon next to my perks. Six months it has been like this?

Fun is totally subjective for each individual player. Just focus on yourself because you simply cannot make everyone happy. Chances are you'll achieve the opposite and make everyone unhappy, including yourself.

I have just obtained mine without any problems on Playstation 5

Will this still be possible when the quest system goes live? I don't know the details and don't have time to watch the stream.
I like to cash them in for anniversary cakes, but will our completed challenges that we haven't claimed disappear once the new quests go live?

Title says it all. Really unfortunate, but if I'm playing a killer on that map, trying to read auras / generator auras with the bright background contrast hurts my eyes and after about 5-8 minutes I get a headache.
I've gotten to the point where when I get that map I have to tab out and wait for match to end to avoid a headache. No other map has this effect, so I'm not sure. Even dead dog saloon is fine.I literally have to change my TV brightness, contrast, and color intensity settings every time I go there as Killer or Survivor.
The corn field maps are twice as bad in my opinion. Everything just meshes together: Auras, Blood stains, Scratch marks and the corn ๐ฝ

With all the voiceless they added with Chucky... I want a Freddy skin that TALKS. While not having classic Freddy is tragic, having a SILENT Freddy REALLY breaks it for me. Would be great if they gave him lines when he downed someone or when someone stuns him or something.
When asked 6 months ago if he would voice Freddy for an animated film, Robert Englund said he likes the idea. He also mentions "Freddy's made appearances in some sophisticated games"
https://youtu.be/TQuAiSavvB4?t=110&si=Q8d9p4GlEq73zlIoI know Robert Englund would love to voice an OG Freddy skin, you can tell he's still enthusiastic about the character.

I believe there is a cooldown when you interact with a clock, for example, me and another survivor went to the same clock to wake up but there is a short time before it can be used again if a survivor has already interacted.
Thank you, I wasn't even aware a situation like that could arise.
-
@sizzlingmario4 said:
Each individual alarm clock has a 45 second cooldown after a survivor uses it. This addon increases that cooldown to 49.5 seconds.
From what I've noticed when playing against Freddy, alarm clocks are usually plentiful and the cooldown on them rarely comes into play, so this addon isn't very good imo as it only adds 4.5 seconds to a number that often doesn't matter anyway.
Thank you @sizzlingmario4
You are always so helpful to me, I appreciate you so much!

You'd be wrong about me being a Trapper main, Wraith and Spirit are my go-tos!
And there's only one survivor for me, and that's Nea, has been since she was introduced way back in 2016.
I like Nea, I've got quite a few cosmetic pieces for her.
She's the most fun to mix and match cosmetics with in my opinion.
I also love her Alice in Wonderland cosmetic!
I'm currently running her around in this cosmetic combo, it seems to be my favorite so far:

Im trying to get use to playing killer, but it seems like every other game I'll get a SWF group who brings flash bangs/flashlights/Head on,and all these other perks to just bully the killer. I really don't enjoy facing these type of survivors, and I feel like I have to take a break from DBD everytime I go against one of these teams. How do all you killer mains deal with this?
My build when I see a potential bully squad:
- Lightborn
- Agitation
- Iron Grasp
- Mad Grit
it's the best I've got. Slugging them won't always work as some run No Mither and there's always at least one Boon: Exponential.
If you can't beat them, don't play their game. Go face a corner so they can't get points for blinding you (unless you have Lightborn) and do something else until the match ends.
They are not there to do generators so they'll quickly get bored and do them or DC.
I sincerely wish I had better advice.

Survivor, for me, I don't even have to escape! I just want a good amount of Killer interaction (chases, hiding, escaping chases) and Survivor interactions (saving, healing, protecting).
As Killer, I am a little harder on myself and I need a 3K minimum to feel like I've "won".
As Survivor, I want my teammates to escape if we're at endgame. If we made it this far, they deserve help and I'm happy to be the sacrifice.
This is the last 3 minutes of a match I was in yesterday (normal SoloQ, not chaos) and the best game I've had in a while.
https://youtu.be/PLocfw5BsFI?si=RGexPNixUNWgwAtRGgs to my teammates and ggs to Myers, I had such a good game, and I love these down to the wire matches where it can go either way.
-
You used to be able to mod in this game? Really? When did that begin and end?
-
@Mooks said:
imo, it would be better to dc in that case as you will be replaced by a bot and donโt completely screen vier everyone in that Match.
I do hope we will get a phobia Mode eventually down the line - though even that has limitations. And especially with licensed content they cant just change the appearance and would probably run into Problems if players could activate a Setting to block a specific licensed character.
So there will always remain instances where the player needs to act - either afking or dc ing (maybe play without Sounds if the trigger is only Audio based). Of course if the trigger is omnipresent in all Matches (eg blood, crows/birds) then itโs most sensible to not play the game.
affected players may also try to use the Game as some form of exposure therapie as its only virtual and you can always stop it on your own - but then again I think an online Game specifically isnt the right Medium for that as it affects everyone on that match and there are offline games or specialized VR for that - maybe try this in custom Matches with your mates though? (Of course only if you are comfortable enough - maybe it can lead to you bring able to handle online matches After this Exposure/desensibilisation)What is a phobia mode? Is it something in other live service games? I'm curious as to what it entails as I've never heard of the concept before.

tbh I don't think this is a good idea. The current Inner Healing means that you can either use a totem for a boon, or destroy the totem for a free heal (and still lets you heal if said totem was a hex no less, so 2 things in 1).
Oh I see. I was just thinking it would be a cool build for Survivors.

Ppl have had names like Doctor=DC FOREVER. I remember seeing that alot back when I played on PC before crossplay.
Oh wow. I've never seen anything that blunt before this week. At least not that I know of. Perhaps I'm paying more attention because I'm dreading every match, on both sides.
-
I've noticed some Survivors are changing their gamer tag to indicate that they "Go Next".
I think I've seen 3 since Monday that say something like "S-Tier = Go Next" or "[insert killer name] = DC"
I do appreciate the Warning as I can look for a different lobby.

Well, I think Bond would be simply too strong overall, but I think survivor aura reading of kindred would be good enough, but not really breaking whole balance.
I like that kindred (definetly only survivor part) would help only when survivors actually need it, but it won't play the game for you.
I agree. Bond basekit would be too strong but Kindred would be perfect.

There is a challenge in the current level of the tome that likely accounts for more people running No Mither: the random perk challenge.
This. I've seen it way too much lately and it's the only logical conclusion that I can think of.

9 down votes? Sheesh. Some people donโt have a sense of humor.
@CountOfTheFog you went against a SWF of Smurfs with thousands of hours in the game. They do not need perks or items at your level to pull of big plays and succeed.
I am not a fan of smurfing in videogames; I wish people wouldnโt do it.
I never knew what Smurf accounts even were until I researched it last night. Thank you for the information, I appreciate it.

It could be that you have been unfortunate enough to run into Hens, JRM, Otz and Ayrun running the Hardcore Survivor challenge.
They are doing a new iteration of the challenge these days. And they know every little trick in the book, being extremely efficient survivors.
@OneNineTwoNine said:
Did you run into the Hardcore Survivor team (Hens, Otz, Ayrun, JRM) maybe?
So I just looked up this thing they're doing. I don't think it's possible that it was them because I believe we live in different regions. However, it hadn't occurred to me that people would do something like that so perhaps I just ran into some random SWF groups doing a similar challenge. It's the only logical explanation.

@OneGoodBoyDemo said:
I've also been witnessing this in my survivor and killer games. Survivors with default cosmetics playing like gods.
It's not the cosmetics, it's the fact they bring literally nothing. No perks, no items and yet they know every perfect move to make. They can loop and mind game, the whole thing seems weird and it's always late at night. Around midnight eastern time these brand new players come out and destroy you. They act very seasoned though.
-
Soon your map offering won't even guarantee that you go to that realm. They are changing them to only increase the chances by 20%
I wouldn't bother hunting for those or most Survivor adepts. You're more likely to throw the game for yourself and your team. Unfortunate, but true.

Actually you're right, the language in the tweet is kinda vague. I interpreted it as the change being unintended and it'll be reverted by the time it hits live, but one absolutely can read it as the flick is unintended and they plan on going through with the fix for it. Might need further clarification on BHVR's end.

Do players these days actually think you need hatch, keys and stealth to escape one single trial? Lmao, escape is possible if you just play the game and contribute to the team.
Is it...? Have you played SoloQ lately? I tried a few matches and it's back to Killer I go.
In the first screenshot I was downed by Leatherface with Lethal Presuer and watched as two of my teammates were in the shack just nodding at each other.
In The second screenshot, the Killer was Huntress with no perks and no add-ons. I rescued my teammate from the basement, two DC and I die on 1st hook.
SoloQ is a mess. Even as Killer, I'm sick of this. I hook one person and the game is essentially over as they just go next.
