Ah i just goggled some pictures, i do remember it now
My main grievance is being unable to unhook because they don't stop doing the animation.

You have to be really close to hear that?
Also, people cant see what perks you are running so i think the "I have kindred" argument falls a bit short.
I think you are making a big fuzz about nothing tbh.
They get a green perk notification that I'm running Kindred actually.

Its ment as a warning that the killer is close.
Also, how can it annoy you that they flap their arms, whats the harm done? it makes no sound and dosnt impact you in any way.
Try playing killer when people are fast vaulting to distract you from a chase.
I guess this is the beginnig of "the survivors rulebook for survivors" ?
It hasn't meant that for years. Read the post SLOWLY. The answers to both of your questions are in there. Yes, it makes noise, that is also noted in the post.

wiggling arms is supposed to mean stuff but i just do it because i need to do something in the meantime, just hanging there is boring, sorry. the killer might not be nearby or someone might already be on their way to save me, but i just do it to do it.
There is sooooo much intelligence to gather though! Being on 1st hook is my favorite because ofvthat.

You literally have one discussion saying you can't handle 2nd stage skill checks. But you have energy to flap like a bird? ❤️

In my opinion the sweet spot is 15min~ max. DBD matches are only fun in short doses. If I wanted 30min+ matches I would go play a MOBA game.🤠
I agree, 15 max.

You did not just go there. You. Did. Not.

@Coordi said:
Genuine question: what do you do if you don't flappy arm? Do you just....wait? 😂
I gather information. Which teammates are where, If I see on the hud that Tapp has a gen 90% done and saves me then I know where I'm heading after the unhook. I can see where the killer went and who if anyone they're chasing so I stay away from them. I see which others are injured so I can help them. There is a lot of useful info to gather on the hook.
-
@KolbyKolbyKolby said:
honestly just let me die on hook, better than having to deal with someone like you as one of my teammates lmao
I want to save you but you cause a delay which is annoying. I was just venting anyway. I'm too damn Altruistic to leave people on hook, regardless of the reason. Just been a bad few weeks.

Someone had messaged me on PSN today comparing prestige to RACISM, yes you read that right.
Prior to that message, they were in this same game, this particular player ended up griefing it by telling the killer where I was, refusing to do gens and working with the killer. (I got 2 gens to 50% and the rest of the time I was being chased). Them meanwhile, still couldn't do a gen, just healing and running around.
Now the reason I'm saying all this is because maybe it's time to change the type of report functions that are in the game. They should be more specific than vague and they should allow you to report for exactly what the issue is.
This will not only make the game better overall, it will help the dev's to understand what type of trends are starting to become more popular so they can address these issues a lot sooner rather than later. Yes there's the chance of false reporting too but that's why with the new system mixed with the forums it would just make more sense.
And maybe, just maybe, people should start to be accountable for what they say out of the game in messages about it. This last sentence is a bit of a conundrum I can't lie.
Another reason prestige levels need to be hidden until end game. Sorry you got that message but I get teammates pulling that on me weekly. If the killer is cool they will tunnel the traitor out of the match.

first of all we need basic controller settings. As already mentioned dead zones, response curves.
then aim assist or whatever it’s called needs to be adjusted to not let controller players hit the air/the stone/the vault behind you when you clearly lunge at survivors. Also not sure if related or not but lunges in general do not work on controllers. When I first switched I thought there was a bug giving you base Coup de Grace
then of course console (and general) optimization would be great. But… it feels like this seems to be too unrealistic to dream for
I only use lunge attacks because it feels half assed not to imo. No problem on controller for me there

i love the nintendo switch version of the game a lot but had to drop it due to the FPS. but fingers crossed they optimize this game for controller players
So you moved from Switch to PC? Or did you play on other platforms as well?
-
@itsquiet27 said:
I moved to PC DBD and i feel so sorry for the players who suffer playing with controller because this game isn't well optimized for controller players and believe me when i say this because i have experienced both platforms and I can confirm this game is developed NATIVELY for mouse and keyboard. I hope someday the developers maybe looking into optimizing this game more for controller players?? i'm surprised no one really spoke about this issue.
I love controller. I have never played K and M and I'm old so I don't want to. I do alright on Switch with the pro controller but we need the game optimized for these events omg. 5 FPS.

I love when I'm Steve or Jonathan in SoloQ and a player changes to Nancy and we both run bloody Partystreamers and become SWFs. Or, if I'm Nancy and the Demogorgon is the killer, we usually become friends post match.

Correct, an inactive trap will not kill you out the gates.
If I'm not mistaken, an active one pauses if she's chasing you, correct? So I'd be safe if I had an active one on but that is on pause if she's chasing me out the exit?
-
@JPLongstreet said:

An active trap will always kill ya through the gates, but not through the hatch. Inactive will not. No add-ons effect anything during EGC as far as I know.
So if the pig downs me and puts one on me after the exit gates are powered, then it's not active and I can go out the exit gates?

Short and simple: Weaponized latency. Its name comes from the times it was a literal button on your net cable that pressing it would make you have an spike of lag and would give you some kind of advantage.
Nowadays, usually lag don't suppose any kind of advantage unless you find some kind of bug / exploit in how the game handle lag that allows to basically cheat. In DbD right now there is people that use it to make short jumps forward when you are not looking... :
https://imgur.com/a/jgNP2EJ#khIAORG
... or to maintain speed from perks or getting hit for more time than it should:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t_K5dFUQ3eQ&t=158s
But in other games, things can get really crazy:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I5QyNA6H6rY
The only way to "detect" them is if they have being playing normally all the match, but suddenly they get an spike of lag and start doing strange things (like the Bill on the first video) or they seems to casually have an high ping only when is convenient for them (all the chase was fine, but just when you are going to hit them they start lagging, etc.). By the way, in DbD high ping is indicated by a red bar besides the survivor's name and an icon on top of the survivor's names for the killer.
Also, you have to take in count that many times lag switching and "regular cheating" look the same, so the cheater won't have an high ping when doing it because they are simply not using it, and also that just because someone have high ping doesn't means they are lagswitching.
Well today, just before I got face camped and hit on hook through all hook phases with no teammates around and with literally no progress on the self unhook option, just before I was hooked, the indicator popped that the killer had high ping. My self unhook bar didn't gain an inch throughout both hook stages.

I kinda like the idea of Scene Partner, where you scream but see the aura of the killer. It's not meant to be strong but like a fun little perk with its small usage. But I've used that perk now for a longer period of time and the fact that I scream actually kills me and no, I don't mean in the scense of revealing my position:
the scream cancels my vaults / disables vaulting - that killed or at least injured me quite often. I remember back then when Doctor was kinda new that we had the same issue. Random screams would teleport you behind your vault / cancel the vaulting animation.
What do you guys think of Scene Partner?
I hate that perk and now avoid Nic Cage in SoloQ to lessen the chance of seeing it because if a fellow Survivor is near you, you're putting them in danger.
I've had too many teammates use it while next to me and the killer finds me. Ridiculous perk.
-
I got this on my 1st try against Ghostface. Perhaps he is the key. I figured it wouldn't work because it failed on Trapper. I think it's definitely bugged but doable under certain conditions (who the killer is for example).

If you are facing a pyramid head and reach full torment status he gets the option to use FInal Judgement which he basically chops a survivor in half on bias. Like the way you'd cut a grilled cheese sandwich in half. It's different from his mori where you get wrapped in metal and he stabs you.
Oh yeah I do know that. I thought you meant Pinhead lol

Blinding at a pallet is a detriment to the Survivor 9/10 since they lose quite a bit of distance.
Only time its really helpful, is if the killer has some sort of insta down or something where they can get a quick down and youre in a deadzone. If played correctly you can get to a safer place that way, but its still risky
They always try to blind me atvthe pallet

My student, before you run you must learn to walk. Crawl your way out of the trap that is Lightborn, learn the ways of Lookatawalljutsu and Lookawaykwondo, and some day you may be as good as me, or even better

You’re telling me, excluding the time you WAIT to get into a lobby, you sit in the actually game lobby for 10-15 minutes getting dodged over and over?
I’m not talking about matchmaking time.
And no, I don’t believe it. Refer to my results.
I had a 39 minute wait once. That was my record as a soloQ Survivor. That was due to both killers dodging as well as Survivors who got tired of waiting. But, like I told the thread earlier, I just fake everyone out now with a P3 or P4 and swap to P100 around the 7 second mark.

For such powerfull effect to destroy Killer's pressure and hook stage/kill its bizare how easy and offten it can be done.
Not only you have extra nice window of you not needing to be precise at all, just aim not too late at the Killer and Its GG EZI, but also the fact that Background Player is like Sonic speed for 5 seconds makes countering them in the open pretty Impossible againts team of cordinated Survivors.
If you laugh at Killers for running lightborn, just remember Flashlights were made much easier to use then ever and Background Player exists that keeps getting buffed.
I run lightborn every match. No exceptions.

Yea I’m not saying it doesn’t happen. But these are my results personally, and I don’t think dodging is nearly as big an issue as people on here make it out to be.
It is for me. This is just my current solution to the problem for myself. I'll get a game one way or another.

I see a lot of people on here claiming they are constantly dodged or sitting in lobby for 10-15 minutes because the killers keeps dodging their P100 characters. I thought this was a bit over exaggerated so I kept a log of my last 20 games from yesterday with the hidden prestige test being over. Here are my results.
MORNING / AFTERNOON *SWF WITH 1 P100*
Game 1 - no dodge. P4 Oni (2 p100)
Game 2 - 1 dodge, p1 knight (2 p100)
Game 3 - 1 dodge p9 Freddy (2 p100)
Game 4 - no dodge p17 wraith (3 p100)
Game 5 - no dodge p7 wesker (3 p100)
Game 6 - no dodge p21wesker(3 p100 and a 75)
Game 7 - no dodge p3 knight (2 p100)
Game 8 - no dodge p54 oni (2 p100)
Game 9 - no dodge p9 billy (2 p100)
Game 10 - no dodge p5 wesker (2 p100)
*NIGHT TIME GAMES - SOLO FOR A BIT*
Game 11 - no dodge p75 myers (1 p100)
Game 12 - no dodge p3 myers (1 p100 & 91)
Game 13 - no dodge p10 myers (1 p100)
*BACK INTO SWF*
Game 14 - no dodge p15 trapper (2 p100)
Game 15 - no dodge p4 spirit (2 p100)
SWITCHING FROM LOW P TO P100 (halfway through lobby timer)
Game 16 - no dodge p2 knight (2 p100)
Game 17 - 1 dodge p2 knight (2 p100)
Game 18 - no dodge p5 wesker (3 p100)
Game 19 - 1 dodge p10 huntress (2 p100)
Game 20 - no dodge p37 wesker (2 p100)
I was dodged a total of 4 times over a span of 20 games straight, never more than once. I never sat in lobby longer than 1.5 - 2 minutes. I’m NA East, and assume my MMR is pretty high due to escape rate.
I got dodged 3 times in a row. So, now I'm entering the lobby as a P3 and swapping to my p100 at the last second. I have only had one Survivor and one killer ditch the game during the loading screen so far.
