His chase potential is pretty good now. At this point Wraith excels at getting close undetected and ending chases relatively well. I think he's already in a solid place and doesn't need free grabs.
-
Killers asked for this for years because of hopeless drawn out endgames. Wouldn't count on it happening.

They're not related, but the Devil mask is a real mask, manufactured by Fun World.
Then I'm a little disappointed in most of them, at least in contrast to some of the amazing skins we've gotten lately for other killers.

The hag
Third Seal: Your knowledge of ancient mysticism has given you and your allies and edge. While all living survivors are healthy, all survivors see each survivors auras up to 32/64/Infinite meters away. If a survivor is injured, hooked or dying, this effect stops and you suffer the Blindness effect.
Devour Hope: The fall of your allies can mean your own survival. Every time another survivor is hooked, gain a token. At 3 tokens, the Hatch appears on the map if it is not there already. At 6 tokens the hatch opens for 10/20/30 seconds. Lose all tokens when you are hooked.
Ruin: You revel in the downfall of those around you. Whenever you or another survivor fails a repair skill check, receive a token up to 4/6/8 maximum tokens. While repairing, press a secondary button to trigger a Tremendously/Tremendously/Considerably hard skill check. If you succeed, increase repair progress by 5%.
I know they're unbalanced, don't @ me

I thought i had a funny question to keep the train going, but it sounded...wrong, so you win this one. 😋
Whatever the question was the answer was probably yes

Equip Sabo and go fail a skill check on a hook. Freddy won't expect it, and I believe it still will wake you up just like failure on healing or gen. You're also not on a gen so it's a little more out of the way and harder for killer to identify exactly where you were when you woke up.
Sabbo skill checks don't wake you up unfortunately

Remove the nurse and then maybe they can balance MoM
Nurse is only strong cause survivors are so dependant on looping to stay alive and she can't be looped by conventional methods.

Not received as killer but I had a killer get mad at me for doing gens while he went afk on top of the hatch. Accused me of cheating to clip through him and into the hatch. I just left through the gates.
As killer I heard a Feng Min drop off a hill behind me(cause she makes the loudest and most annoying sounds) and went after her. Got accused of cheating because there was "no reason you should have looked back and seen me"

lol. You don't even know how the FF works. Listen everything what they said from the paper.
I'm very aware how FF works, I've been playing Legion a lot since the update and I've really gotten the hang of him. Sorry you're unable to have as much fun with him as I do.

Unpopular opinion but I like that it appears. I like that I still have to put in effort for my last kill.

I'd say give killer a BBQ stack and give survivor a WGLF stack

Im sorry for you but as you can see here is full of frustrated killer main. Useless to talk with them. They just want easy kills, just watch how the endgame now is, killer side because they always crying..
Endgame is pretty balanced right now honestly. And slugging for the 4k has significantly dropped off too. But survivors never notice the positives.

The entity prevents Face camping by allowing survivors to unhook from every direction (swivel hooks).
Welcome to 2019!
A lot of people misunderstand/don't realize what facecamping used to be.
For reference to anyone who doesn't know, you used to be able to stand in front of a survivor on the hook and completely deny the ability to unhook them because you could only unhook from directly in front.
It also made Trapper broken because he could trap directly in front of you

Maybe our Predator rip off could be a more advanced wraith with a cloaking power. Blast attack and infrared tracking ability.
Wraiths cloak is all he really has besides the windstorm boost. If they made a cloaked hunter type of killer they'd need to have a significantly weaker cloak mechanic than Wraith

They did make hillbilly and that turned into getting Leatherface. So we have some tiny precedent.
That's true, and Trapper is meant to reflect Jason. But neither of them is really that interesting in comparison to characters like Huntress, Plague or Wraith. They were staples in the horror franchise so I can understand them being created though. Predator isn't quite the same.
In terms of Xenomorphs, while I don't think it'd necessarily fit dbds theme(as I stated in another thread by OP), it IS scary and more within the horror genre and would make for a much more interesting character (I'd come up with an idea for it as a killer back when I first started playing. Still don't think it really belongs in DbD but I do like Xenomorphs)

Tagging objects with your power causes nightmarish reactions to sleeping survivors trying to use them. A variety of reactions could reinforce the aesthetics of his power.
Don't know how feasible it is but I'm REALLY into this idea actually. Giving the Nightmare the ability to turn vaults and pallets against the survivor would be really cool

If we have a Predator like killer in dbd and it's better or different from the Predator in Predator HG then there is a massive slap in the face to Predator HG. Predator Predator.
Why make a killer with the intent of slapping the inspiration in the face?
-
@AshleyWB said:
Dbd could create it's own Predator killer rip off with more customisation shortly after the initial Predator HG hype settles to resnatch players back.
Idea- if there are multiple license owners for Predator, get a different one to the Predator HG license then we have Predator in dbd.
There's only one license holder. In terms of a predator ripoff, I'd rather see DbD create something more original since those tend to be their strongest design concepts. The development team is super creative on that front but when they try to emulate preexisting killers they end up being lackluster at best.
-
@AshleyWB said:
You know what the easy solution for this is
obtain the Predator license for dbd *cough cough* Did anyone hear anything? No hmm nevermind then.
I wouldn't bank on that one lmao
-
@AshleyWB said:
My point is
Have you ever played F13?
If you have, Why wasn't you playing dbd?
Dbd lost an active player when you were playing F13.
Same case when Predator HG comes out too.
If you stop playing DbD entirely to play F13 then it lost an active player. If you decided to give F13 a shot, or go back and forth between the two, DbD did NOT lose an active player. It's no different than saying that DbD lost players to Red Dead 2 or Fallout76. People can play multiple games regularly.
-
@AshleyWB said:
If Predator HG is decent and it does stay on ps4. That isn't bad news. Sure you will lose some dbd players to Predator HG but you would attract more and if you are more able to retain new players then that is a success.
Retention is vital and Predator HG may be an opportunity to attract new players.
Also no-one knows what dlc/base game content will be in Predator HG. They could have the terminator, Alien, originally made stuff and others. They will develop too if they start right.
The franchised content they could possibly add is heavily limited though, and would likely only happen if they already had a huge success during the early months of the game. In terms of original content, yes they can do that. But because of preexisting lore of the series, they'd either be limited on what they create, or they'd compromise lore and theme, and risk upsetting fans who play for the actual franchise. That's not to say they CAN'T, only that they have far less creative freedom than Dead by Daylight has.
-
Not to mention, DbD is a game people take a break from and come back to a lot. That's why you see numbers dwindle a bit before jumping again. In the grand scheme of things I don't see PHG impacting anything much at all

Hell just take a look at Street Fighter V, a multiplayer game of an iconic franchise developed by a major AAA publisher. It had a poor launch as a Sony console exclusive 3 years ago. Even though it would be a huge benefit for Capcom for the game to launch on Xbox One (a platform of 40 million consoles) that hasn't happened. Why? Because Sony helped fund the game.
If Capcom of all developers can't even get out of a Sony contract I doubt a indie studio like Illfonic can.
To add on to your point, even a game that does well is unlikely to leave Sony's cold deathgrip. Bloodborne, The Last of Us and Horizon Zero Dawn are all solid examples of that.
-
@AshleyWB said:
Those of you saying I'm saying that "dbd is going to die" Can you stop putting words in my mouth? I never said that.
You're ignoring what work needs to be done in order for dbd to hold it's ground if Predator HG isn't a floppy mess.
Even in the event it does well, I don't think it's going to impact DbDs numbers any more than any other new game has. Especially considering it's PS4 exclusive and unlikely, if not outright impossible, to come to any other platform.
-
Also Dead by Daylight does pretty good with keeping a solid playerbase. It fluctuates here and there but it's hardly dying. It also has the benefit of being a game with multiple franchises represented as well as it's own super diverse cast of characters. Something Predator seems to lack.
-
MoMs weakness is that it requires you to take a hit and escape to heal, or effectively lose 1-2 hookstates before you can get it. And while 1 free hit might seem like a big deal to a lot of players, it's really not. MoMs biggest strength comes in its ability to stop camping, especially in conjunction with borrowed time. Hit-unhook-hit usually trades one survivor for the other but MoM timed right emulates the old, obscenely broken Borrowed Time. Only because it's 2 perks and needs setup first, it's balanced.
Killers don't actually see the time they save when survivors are forced to heal more often to get the perk, so it's really easy to think it's a free hit with no downside
-
DbD, at least for me, has the befit of a theme and aesthetic that I enjoy, character designs that will keep me coming back, and a lot of versatility for playstyles, depending on how willing you are to stray from the stagnant meta. Plus if I'm being honest, I don't expect the studio that made F13 to usurp the game that put it into the dirt.

Killers will get over the Endgame slugging soon enough. It's really not a big deal in the long run.

the killer who is facecamping you does not give a daRn about the others finishing gates, just want you to die and ASAP
try to enjoy a Bubba-M2-facecamper bro
No one's saying it's enjoyable, we're saying you can't punish the killer for being close to the hook because it's so easy to exploit. Suddenly survivors can loop you near a hook, suddenly survivors can hookswarm without any risk. Suddenly the killer can't be anywhere near the basement, effectively making it a free save area instead of the most dangerous place in the map.
-
Legion has a power that can give him greater mobility for travelling the map, a quick first hit in a chase, and the ability to pressure several survivors at once. No one's gonna argue that he's top tier but honestly I'd consider him much better than Wraith. He just takes more skill to get more out of him
-

there are complex mechanisms to prevent facecamping
how about the entity adds a timer to the killer the longer is facecamping, and stuns him/her after a certain range???
The killer is literally already punished for facecamping though. 3 other survivors can finish gens while the killer is occupied making smores. Not to mention punishing camping would immediately encourage hook swarming because the killer can't guard from it without being punished.

That just means everyone gets rescued risk free. No, as frustrating as it is to be camped it's not something that can be removed. Plus DCing is worse than staying on the hook tbh

My issue with Deliverance (more than one) is:
- The perk becomes immediately useless if you are the first one found and hooked (since you can only Kobe off your first hook)
- There's much better perks to run in place of it and it feels like a wasted slot
- It denies someone else their altruism points (i know, a survivor who cares about other people getting points? amazing XD)
If you're dying immediately without being rescued tho then it can only help you. You have the tools to deal with this problem, use them or stop complaining.
