They said that those games made up something like 2% of her overall KR. Either way, when you have a community that refuses to play against a Killer in any circumstance, that's a HUGE issue.
No, they definitely gutted Legion. He got dumpstered for YEARS and had his entire original playstyle removed from the game.
It was necessary to allow the character to just be annoying and not hated. I wish they would have actually fully reworked them, but they chose not to and damned Legion to being mid for all eternity.
Yea the changes that she saw along with the dev notes EXPLAINING why they changed things dont suggest it was
"Just because people gave up all the time"
The devs have the numbers on this stuff so to believe in this vast conspiracy that SM was nerfed because people just gave up all the time is insane.
What didnt need to happen in the mean time with this silly change at 8.3 was 1 scan line. 2 scan lines should have stayed. -
Killer is the easier role
I mean it absolutely is. Dont see why there is any point of contention there.Game would be almost impossible to play if that wasnt true.

that version is long dead. she's actually been the new version for longer than she was that version. why are we still talking about chess merchant?
I dunno ask cosmic they brought it up
And even defended it. Not surprisingly
Chess merchant for everyones information
Patched out 8.3 (to our current merchant)
Gen regress limit 7.5
It happened up until our current merchant. If you want a video of a chess merchant after the regress limit and holding hostage tournament teams, ill post it. -
Her first iteration was unfair as hell, undetectable nearly perma. Expose, nearly perma, killer instinct nearly perma.
Theres no way anyone thought it was just people giving up attributing to it.
And 30-40 minute matches, anyone downvoting this is just pure cope at this point. Everyone knows this was unbalanced. The fact that a coordinated team got to this amount of time on several occasions.
Tournament level players were held hostage in maps by this AFTER the 8 regress limit change. So you're just not accepting facts at this point. -
There were two issues with the second rework for her.
One was she still had the ability to lock a 3 gen down. The drones could be overlapped three times. Leading to stalls for the most part and only groups on comms being able to do much about it.
Two was you couldnt reasonably do anything about drones even with a designated person disarming them. She would just replace them faster than anyone could get rid of them. Which is a bit different from trapper and hag in this regard.
So matches ended up, even after the 8 kick regress limit, of a 3 gen hold, everyone injured from lock-on. And slug within the radius. -
@xGodSendDeath said:
Here's how a killer gets balanced for low level survivors:
Killers: Wow, gen speeds are INSANE. 3 gens get done at my first hook! That's so unfair that survivors have 60% of their objective done while I get one hook!
Survivors: Holding M1 on a gen is boring. The only thing fun is the chase. Give survivors more objectives don't make gens take longer.
Developers: Here's Sadako, Pinhead, Skull Merchant, etc.
Survivors: Your average survivor doesn't understand how these killers work! They don't know what to do!!! Please rework them!!
Developers: Rework
Gen speeds stay the sameYes, not everyone is a god-tier player but only killers are expected to be when it comes to balance and character design
Not at all how things are designed. Good bait though

- A small handful of games proves nothing, just because a killer is balanced around lower MMR/lower skilled survivors does not mean it is literally impossible to win at a higher level. I have a hard time believing you aren't just ragebaiting at this point since you seem to be incapable of listening, understanding anyone's points, or being civil.
2. "The amount of undetectable with what we know, is going to make this aura a non issue."
The only undetectable we know of for sure is her getting it when she is piloting her drone. You are making assumptions in that she gets free undetectable on demand when NOTHING of the sort is mention in the notes. Take your own advice and
Read. The. Notes. Please
- Again I gave an example, hard proof that youre wrong about low tier survivors and killers being balanced around them so keep up whatever narrative you have. So much so that I went to the extreme end and provided screens with no gen regress, and not even tIII perks. Against people that have prestige 50+, these aren't bottom of the barrel survivors.
Maybe you struggle on pig/sadako and think this is why, who knows. But fact of the matter is, no killer in this game is balanced around low tier or "bottom of the barrel" survivors. Its hard to take anything you post seriously.
P100s dont exist in low tier survivors. Getting to 20k points in a game, hell even 15k points in a game, dont exist in low tier survivors.
Rage bait here seems to be coming from the other direction. - So you just assume changes happen? Even when they arent listed?
Rage bait here seems to be coming from the other direction pt II.
Again I can make the same assumption you are attempting to do, by saying:
"oh yeah and expose is probably coming back to the drones"
Theres nothing in the notes saying you are losing undetectable on releasing a drone. 0. Nada.
Take what you know. Read the notes. Not assume random changes that aren't even listed.

but you can't claw trap any more. so scanning the survivors does nothing except tell you where they are. and then you have no stealth to sneak up on them. wouldn't it be so much easier to just pilot the drone and crash it into them? it would. because she's a dash killer now.
oh and if you don't, then the survivors will hack your drone, and then they can see your aura. in addition to you not being able to hit them.
"you can choose to"… lmao.
Where are you getting this no stealth thing from? Where is that listed in the notes? Screen shot for me please

she can take control of the drones, and use them to
and here's the fun part
DASH INTO SURVIVORS
where the drones explode, and injure the survivor.
just like viktor, a dash killer. or like wesker, a dash killer. or like blight, a dash killer. or like billy, a dash killer. she just briefly takes control of a drone, and then plays viktor wesker billy blight, and dashes into the survivors. like a dash killer would.
don't condescend to me about reading the notes. why don't you try comprehending them first?

- Again, I am literally just responding to what YOU said. And if you HONESTLY believe that NO killers are balanced around lower skill level survivors then I don't know what to tell you besides I heavily disagree. Some killers are balanced around higher skill levels and some around lower, and I think that is quite obvious, but you are entitled to your opinion. I could also go take 3 screenshots of 3 lost games and it would have just as much weight as your screenshots.
2. You are making just as many assumptions about the changes as anyone else in this thread. Let people discuss things without this attitude that no one is allowed have an opinion until the changes are in the game already. I am fairly confident that BHVR put out these early ideas so that people could discuss them and give feedback.
- Yea I mean there is no single killer in this game, balanced around the lowest tier or "bottom of the barrel" survivor.
I refuted what you said with possibly the most unnecessary example above, p100s arent present in "bottom of the barell". So you need to change the definition of low tier or bottom of the barrel, because the opponents I have in this screenshots aint it.
I get the cope about p100 not meaning everything but bottom of the barrell and low tier survivors dont even have p10s, much less p100s.
Again you are just digging this hole deeper than it needs to go. Pig is not balanced around those survivors, and she is on the weaker end of things for sure. But you are dead wrong in this case.
2. Its not in the notes, I could easily say something just as silly as she is going to get expose back to drones. Stick with what you know please.
The amount of undetectable with what we know, is going to make this aura read a non issue.@deckyr said:
@ChuckingWong you are being disagreed with. you have stated your opinion, "we should wait until the PTB". this is your opinion. you do not have to re-state your opinion every time someone disagrees with you, it has been stated and it is on the record. please have the decorum required to allow the thread to be about something other than your sole opinion, which lots of people disagree with, including myself. you do not need to make extremely large posts reiterating your opinion every time someone doesn't agree with it.
i personally would rather the developers not waste their time on this rework. i don't want it to go as far as a PTB, because once this reaches PTB stage, it's going to be irreversible. we were lucky that the twins rework happened to be absolutely ridiculously insanely overpowered in a way that is fully game-breaking so that PTB got reversed. skull merchant won't be so lucky.
skull merchant is, at time of posting:
the only killer that is both trap killer and stealth killer
the only trap killer that doesn't need to camp basement or hooked survivors to be strong
the only trap killer who can use her power mid-chase without the survivor just leaving immediately
she is, for all intents and purposes, the only successfully implemented trap killer.
let's not delete that because she doesn't have mass appeal, ok? it's not fair to the people who love her just because survivors refuse to learn or adapt.
take her back to her first rework, but keep the scan lines as permanently visible, and then see how things go from there.
maybe survivors would be more equipped to deal with trap killers if there were more than three of them? maybe survivors would be more equipped to deal with trap killers if trapper and hag were modernised to actually be good in current DbD? let's not turn skull merchant into a dash killer because some survivors are bad at the game, it would be a huge loss to remove the ONLY stealth+trap killer in the entire roster to make her a worse pinhead.
No thats not my opinion.
Thats my opinion on one of the changes and interactions of aura read happening, not her entire kit.
I have to restate this as there are two people in here which are confused by this. To the point they are making up changes that arent even listed to happen.
Id like work on her for sure, and any change, especially the ones listed, are better than what she currently is. The drones should be bidirectional for a start and not this one scan line BS they have going. (Which its getting back read the notes)
Shes still a trap killer based on the notes. So I don't know what the whole thing about dash killers you have going on at the bottom is. You still have drones, they still have scan and reveal, you still have all that system.
(Which it still has read the notes)She is still a trap killer.

- Yeah, if you smurf you will stomp, like I said though, bottom of the barrel survivors don't get placed with skilled killers. And it is undeniable that Pig and Sadako are balanced around low skill survivors. Sadako's entire second rework was because she pub stomped. And Pig, despite being one of the weakest killers has gotten constant nerfs because she gets high kill rates at low MMR. It certainly isn't because she is so oppressive against people who know what they are doing.
2. Given that they haven't made mention of getting undetectable with your drones, yet they did mention getting it from controlling your drones, I think it is fairly safe to assume they have gotten rid of it, just like they have with haste, hindered, and presumably deep wound.
Hacking her drone means she can't use it, and given that drone passively will do basically nothing, not allowing her to use them is a reward enough. Does Singularity need to be revealed or be in some way impacted when his bipods are disabled? No of course not, disabling them is the reward, and it should be the same for SM.
- This just buries the hatchet here you are dead wrong about bottom of the barrel survivors and balance:
Lets keep to things that are based in fact not whatever you are coming up with about killers and their balance. As well as keep this thread about SM.
Again you are wrong about killers and their balance. Just want to drive that one home here. I didnt even have tIII perks on the P100 group up there by the way.
2. You cant say something is going to be unbalanced based on nothing. You are literally assuming the sky is falling without a shred of evidence (like the assumption on low tier survivors you made above, which was proven wrong as well)
Please, lets play it out. Actually see what happens in game, take what we KNOW not what we assume. And things will move forward in this game. - Yeah, if you smurf you will stomp, like I said though, bottom of the barrel survivors don't get placed with skilled killers. First off, don't assume my intentions. I was merely responding to what YOU said, which no killers are balanced around low skill survivors, which they are. Pig for example has been nerfed numerous times for being a pubstomper, and Sadako was reworked due to being a pub stomper.
Second, the reward for disabling her drones should be just that, disabling them. There is not really a reason that she needs to have her aura read as well, as having her power disabled is enough of a punishment. We also don't even know if she is going to have her undetectable from placing her drones, as they only mention undetectable being gained from operating the drones.- Pig and Sadako are not balanced around low skill survivors. Again, go make a new account, play perkless on a trapper and youll stomp. Lets focus this thread on SM these talking points are going nowhere and I think you have a wildly different metric for "low skill survivors" than anyone I am aware of.
- This was one of her problems to begin with. Disabling them did not really benefit anyone, as she can replace multiple drones even with a designated person doing it, faster than you can disable them. As well as, overlapping 3 drones sometimes in areas, making it still a 3 gen holder after the expose changes.
There is no notes saying undetectable is going for placing a trap. So you cant just sit there and doomsay about changes that arent even said to happen. She has undetectable for 8 seconds placing a drone, as well as from the notes taking OVER a drone.
Again needs some play, stick to SM though in this thread. Talking about other things can be for a separate thread.

Sadako (and Chucky to some extent) would beg to differ
The "bottom barrel of survivors" get dominated by any killer regardless of what it is. The "bottom barrel of survivors" get dominated by perkless trappers.
Lets keep this thread though about Skull Merchant rather than whatever you are attempting here that goes for you and @xGodSendDeath
No killer should be balanced around what an SWF is capable of. Otherwise we would have a game full of nurses.
Aura read is fine in SMS case as she constantly has undetectable, and can time it if she sees her drone hacked. They havent even specified how long the Aura read is for, which I am guessing isnt 8 seconds (the duration of placing a drone).
Much like I have already said, changes will need play to figure out what needs fine tuning.
And per the notes, shes ALSO getting undetectable from taking over a drone. So this whole aura read worry seems to be more on the SM allowing it to happen rather than it being an issue at all. You essentially have only small possibilities of this occurence even happening in a match. -
Lets not balance this game "because SWF" please….
If she is still getting undetectable from putting her drones down and being in the drone radius then aura read from hacking wont be that much of an issue. -
Lol
-
bottom of the barrel survivor players that can't be hard pressed to even think for 5 seconds while killers in this game are designed to be clunky and feel awful to use, especially on console.
If any of this were true soloQ wouldnt be in the state it is currently in. No killer is balanced towards the bottom barrel of survivor.
Skull merchant changes can only be better than what she is at the moment. People just need to give it a try and see how it plays out rather than doomsay. -

This is where the global statistics are an average, and doesn't necessarily reflect the experience of an individual.
There are players who go on 3k and 4k streaks for hundreds or thousands of games. There are solo q players who can play an entire weekend and maybe escape twice in 30 matches. But those aren't everyone's experiences.
People also misinterpret things a lot on these forums, such as: "everyone is a cheater" and "I only ever go against a full 4 man SWF".
This, though, is why I'm glad that BHVR kind of stopped giving out stats as much. This community doesn't know how to understand them or interpret them.
SM was a huge red flag, will a kill rate astronomically higher than every other killer, survivors saying that she sucks to go against, and even killers saying she felt like crap.
Yet with all of those indicators, and statistics supporting that she needs to be desperately reworked and isn't in a good place at all, there are people who looked at all of that, and did what you did: ignore almost all of it and actually insist that she should only be buffed. Which, doing so would've only make the kill rate and the survivor experience worse.
At that point, those people are deliberately ignoring (or intentionally misinterpreting) the stats because it just doesn't suit their narrative.
Yup 100% people ask for data to fit their narrative and deliberately misinterpret things.
Like saying if you get:
"less than the average 40% escape rate in soloQ then its not the games fault."
Which is funny as we have players with several thousand hours behind their name, play this game as a career on twitch, and across nearly 300 soloQ games those people dont even get 40%.
People just dont know how statistics work or how data is gathered it seems.
And I'd agree with you, they shouldnt post stats so often, people use it as a weapon in horrible arguments rather than anything helpful to the community. The OP is a perfect example saying they think as much as wellLack of transparency with the game statistics is helping feed a lot of these arguments.
-
Hopefully not, I do it all the time as I know playing soloQ theyll have to sit on the ground because some 10 year old wants a finisher mori.
-
Some things to add:
Time is just one factor for chase, macro play as well dont forget.
If your chase is long but you went through your teammates or near them thats time lost on progression, you had a long chase but your gen prog is low since you ran to generator loops. This is where Bond shines, as you can path away from critical points or teammates.
Also depends what resources you used/didnt use and in what spots.
Was it a garbo pallet? Or a god/good pallet?
All stuff you want to take into account when in chase, a long chase just for timers sake is something you want to avoid. Wasting resources you can leave for endgame later/taking chase too close to teammates generators is not helpful for increasing chase time. -
Its crazy how many people still play this game from 2009

No I stated quite clearly she has a steeper learning curve than the other killers, which is why beginners bring her average down. But 200 hours+ and she's easy to stomp even 4 man SWF teams with that have far more experience per member. It makes perfect sense since most players are casual and not pro players. So they are beginner to intermediate skill level and will lose a lot initially when playing Nurse. Most of them give up at this phase after letting 4 survivors escape before they get 200+ hours on her to overcome the curve. They'd rather play even more auto pilot killers like Blight, Wesker and Spirit that 4K right out of the box.
Yea you are assuming what I just said.
A bunch of noobs on nurse, fail at it, so much so in <200 hours that they bring her stats down, quit playing her.
But then play other killers with that same amount of hours and are just getting 4ks left and right.
I mean if thats the case we need some massive nerfs to this game if 200 hour players are just dominating left and right from not playing nurse and playing wesker.
This just makes icantloops argument on escaping <40% a skill issue even more inconsistent. Now we have 200 hour killer players just dominating the landscape, several thousand hour soloQ players just need to get good. -
@jedimaster505 said:

Most beginners play her and the learning curve is too steep so they give up and bring down her kill rate average. Put a measly 200 hours into Nurse and you can stomp veteran survivor teams on auto pilot. It's just a matter of getting some muscle memory down like learning to balance on a bicycle without training wheels, then it becomes extremely easy to dominate with her since she basically has wall hacks, auto aim and no clip all-in-one brought to you by the geniuses at BHVR inc, their only excuse for their game not being a pay-to-win gambling scheme. The other killers in this game including Blight are basically learning to ride a bike with training wheels on. Easy for just about anybody to pick up and win with very little effort. It's the only way they keep their licensed killer DLC selling. Release OP killers that are easy to play, and shake up the gameplay for both sides so that solo Q survivors don't get bored in spite of losing so much.
Yea see what you are doing here, you doing what another commenter posted above.

Statistics only matter when it fits your narrative.
Id go further into it but you are making the best assumption for nurse to fit a narrative.
With nothing to really back it up, just guessing a bunch of noobs play it, but then simultaneously those same noobs play other killers with high success rates (compared to nurse)
Unless you want to ALSO assume its just nurse mains that dont try other killers, and just forever suck at nurse keeping her stats down (several times by the way).
Which would be a horrendous assumption. People wouldnt try her, lose …. many thousands of matches just because, and either stick with her, and never get better. Or abandon her for other killers. Keeping her stats down.
200 hour assumption you have here I dont even think you'd get into the hundreds of matches so yea your assumption here really is inconsistent. And you'd need thousands of matches of just straight losing on nurse to get her to the point she is now, on a monthly basis nonetheless when they release stats.
TLDR: Your theory does not really fit.
I cant loops logic is still just as bad, maybe worse with a theory like this though. -
@I_Cant_Loop said:
average escape rate is for solo queue is 40%. If you’re escaping far less than that, it’s not an issue with game balance. Plenty of other solo queue survivors are able to achieve this rate or better if the overall average is 40%.
I guess everyone downvoting me doesn’t know how statistics work.
Nurse has had the lowest kill rate nearly 3 or 4 times now.
I guess its just a skill issue if you die to her using your logic. She needs buffs obviously.
I guess everyone downvoting just doesnt like it when their logic applied in the other direction fails. -
Whatever daily challenge there is or archive there is that doesnt line up with the ones I regularly play.

Lol you might as well say "I shouldn't have to pre drop pallets when going against clown". Yes you should. Killers are different and require different things to counter them. The game would be pretty boring if all killers had the same counter.
No you can't control what 3 random people are doing but like or not that's solo for you. "I shouldn't be punished because my team mate blew the gen and attracted the killer", that's a soloq issue not a tombstone issue.
The comparison is not there. Clown cannot eliminate someone from the game, without interacting with the hooks. (Reason I brought up Sadako 2.0, she was doing the same crap for the same reasons)
It is a soloQ issue. And we are agreeing here.
SoloQ are a disgusting overwhelming number of your opponents.
These addons are an "I win button" for the majority of your matches. Thats a problem.
If you lose with stone or piece against soloQ opponents? Thats a hard skill issue, maybe needing to reroll a different killer, at that point.
Stone or piece meyers against soloQ is about as easy as the game can get. You only need to run play with your food. -
@MrT1412 said:
Perks like Dead Hard and Shoulder the Burden are very literally second chance perks. You get an extra hit in chase, and a third hook state.
On their own they don't seem too huge, but when you have stuff like that on every survivor, it's a lot of extra time.
You arent getting dh'd by every survivor. Thats a fantasy match that happens once every 30 matches.
And STB? Probably even less so, only teams can really use that perk. SoloQ stb, you are rolling the dice with extremely low odds to even beable to use it for a variety of reasons.
Reassurance is in this same category. Teams. Not the majority of your matches. -
Sometimes you have to "guess" when you suspect someone is cheating though as it has always been this dial like program people can adjust on the fly. And you really can never tell until its blatantly obvious.
Walling is usually easy if you have a counter perk that shows you them doing it, but sometimes its hard to tell if they just guessed right 11/11 times on a 50/50 chance.
The ones that are usually common though are turn a corner and slight speed boost when the killer cant see. Which again if you have some sort of timed aura read (someone unhooking your floods when in chase with the cheater) you might catch, but sometimes you wont.
Or there is questionably timed "lag" on the server every time you get close to getting a hit as well. -
@buggybug said:
On a serious note though that has been happening since Dracula release, where you in your pov your teammate look like card bored boxes or they look desynced when running. Yea I think it was when they moved to the new unreal engine. You get weird distant oddities like you are describing like people are moving at low frames and what not.
Along with this graphical laugh that happens every so often. Which funny enough if you get close enough they actually disappear sometimes. Survivor just goes full invisible because they are too stressed XD -
Yea the argument for stone and piece for its counterplay is the same as "just grab a tape" when sadako was doing the same crap.
I cant control what 3 other people are doing in my soloQ matches.
Their awareness, their priorities, their skill etc…
I should not be punished with some stupid mori because unknowingly, my teammates just fed stalk all round.
I shouldnt have to hold a generator or hop in a locker and give a free grab/hook either.
Again they are two silly addons that have no place in this game, as long as BHVR wants to keep soloQ in the state its in. -
This is something that I have been very vocal about.
Meyers just should not have piece or tombstone. They are inappropriate add-ons that require way too much from the otherside for counter play.
Mirror is just as silly, though offerings I guess are getting nerfed. I think aura read has been getting out of hand, for awhile.
But the mori addons have no place in this game. Unless you want to make the game balanced for actual team play, which the devs and players refuse to allow, these addons should not exist.
Its simply load up and lose on survivor when these add-ons are on play. The meyers would have to be a horrendous player for it to not happen. -

I mean people are always saying stuff. But as a surv did you ever feel oppressed by Xeno? I never have. Sure, the tail attack is/was too quick to really react to, but actually using it was tricky for a lot of players. And the rest of the kit is just kinda…meh.
Certainly not strong in the way Dracula is.
The point I was trying to make was that BHVR had a popular IP, with hype around it, and delivered an essentially middle of the pack killer. Not some OP beast that everyone had to have.
And then you have another prime candidate to milk money with in Onryo, and she has never been anything other than mid, at best.
Onryo 2.0 was not mid.

Right. This post has a lot of effort with the title "After being bled out". It's just another crybaby. How many more do people have to repeat themselves on every social media about the same boring bs?
They don't deserve respect. Respect is to be earned.
lmfao

I was saying this from day 1 he has too much just given to him compared to any normal killer.
As someone mentioned I think him swapping forms at a whim with no real downside is probably his biggest issue. Cooldowns across the board with him are in need of adjusting. -

I feel there is no soloQ left as a killer. I only face SWF with iri addons , with one person trying to stalk my stealth killer callign out where i am. Its not fun to play killer either atm and that is why you see slugging with meta killers and perks becuase you are a bunch of people who play the game unfairly.
Sorry but no. The majority of your matches are soloQ opponents.
Not even people who play this game as a career 40+/hours a week experience swfs at a high rate. Much less competetive swfs. -
I mean with slinger they would have to rework alot and with huntress if they give them base speed.
Both insta shots would have to go.
The slingers range expose hit and the 1 shot hatchet for huntress.
Youd probably have to nerf windup time or something as well. You could just destroy at every loop, they may as well not be loops with speed. -
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/410749/why-was-huntress-movement-speed-reverted-if-other-ranged-killers-are-faster
This you op? -
Worst killers in the game if they arent good with their powers?
Uhhh no that would be nurse
Where you move SLOWER than the survivors. -
Wont change much with him honestly.
The amount of times you get m1'd by him because of his base speed is probably in the less than 3% category.
Which is probably why they dont want slinger and huntress at that speed. They hit you plenty and they have range. Giving them more speed to fake a shot would just be unnecessary. -

The point is that the changes are not all tied to survivors. Not what they do, if they're effective, not how strong, not anything else except to prove our point.
-----why the line?-------bullets better!-----hahaha…------
There were other options but they failed. From what we heard VHS made the monster role miserable and from what we experienced from Texas Chainsaw the "communication" was an annoying experience along with the killer role more relying on teamwork than the survivors. There were also other games that tried to be the asym champ but DBD currently for good or ill has a formula (and we should add icons) that people like more than anything else.
We don't call that taken hostage. Your free to try and do gens to get out after all. The problem is you can't force ppl to play how you want. Unless the devs completely railroad players, they will always have freedom, and that double edged sword come with this as we all see. Your not forced to save that amazing team player survivor off hook just like your not forced to save that taunting sandbagging arse at the endgame and freely leave. To us at least that freedom is something we like about it even though it comes with problems.
Now tell us, how is more communication going to fix this? Going to magically force others to listen?
3k wouldnt be a win if you are going against people that are handing you the game. Which is currently the majority of soloQ games.
So first this is your opinion. There's a thread recently asking about what ppl consider wins and we saw a good handful saying 3k = win. Didn't specify how they got it. Second, survivors throwing isn't exactly on the killer is it? Third, why does it matter if a 3k is a win or not in this whole conversation? We kinda just realized we don't know why we're rambling about win conditions of all things here.
Its not going to fix it but it creates a no excuse scenario and we can start to get rid of these players that just dont want to play the game as intended. Or stick them in some que where they can sandbag their hearts out.
A game like the one I described yesterday should not happen. Not only does it happen, it happens at a very high rate.
If you wanna role play and start pointing at people, not saving, not progressing the game normally, hiding, queing up with a key and a plan to abandon everyone; while having communication enabled, there's no excuse to play like that anymore. And it should be reportable.
Kind of like LoL with people throwing and it being an actual bannable offense.
Again TCM gameplay wise, is just better because of things like this. However it just isnt popular and doesnt have all the "fortnite" esque drive to it.
IE
1) Skins
2) Reward Track
3) Licenses
4) Pop culture
Coupled with its pretty abysmal launch with cheaters and what not. Which funny enough DBD is seeing a rise in again in recent months. Maybe if they keep improving it rather than it fizzling out who knows, I enjoyed its short run -

So we got a question, which survivors wanted those terror radius changes? Some got bigger, some smaller. Having a bigger radius on Billy or Blight seems like it helps all survivors. Those legion changes seem in response to messing with the mend timer cause people complaining about "mend simulator" or the like. How about those small little buffs to Chucky? Those don't seem tied to any survivors and seems like an attempt to make playing as him (or her for Tiffany) feel better. Most changes are because of people whining, not tied to SWFs or solo. It's because people just don't stop complaining and the devs trying to please the masses (success rate varies).
-----------------------------—_—-----------------
You realize that the game has been this way for close to 9 years now and is still kicking strong despite the community semi sabotaging itself right?
How are they holding you hostage exactly? Body blocks? Reportable and actually against how a game is supposed (using this term very loosely) to go. Excessively hiding? Good news, the devs are actually addressing this soon. Your perfectly capable of leaving without your team helping, it's just a lot harder. Players have agency, it's just most in DBD like to either abuse or be lunatics with that agency (slugging, tunneling, 3 gen camping, leaving teammates for dead, self-destructive tendencies in trying to blind the killer over everything else, using everything on the map for yourself, it's a bloody long list)
You also realize that the killer is a vastly different role than survivor right? You can have a 3k be a win for killer while having the 1 survivor that escaped win too.
So nerfs and buffs come in different magnitudes.
The TR changes arent what we really think in overal power. Im talking major changes that happen.
In which case for the TR changes its 50/50. There were complaints, still are about ghostface/pig/SM.
Billy blight TR changes wont do jack though. They move so fast that it doesnt matter what their TR is. (obviously not being stupid small would matter) But base radius versus an extra 8 is not going to change anything about those killers.
Not to mention most billy players play with some sort of stealth perk anyways.
—————————————-
Game has been going strong because its cornered the market. There just is no other option.
Taking the game hostage as in you are now in a match, where you have teammates, who are not interested in playing the game normally. (refusing to participate in normal gameplay).
By sitting there and pointing at the killer. Hiding. Not progressing generators. Not saving. Not saving at the right time. etc.
Its a match that should not have happened. But you are there with them.
The fact that you can have these even happen is the issue. "abuse cases" "lunatics"
3k wouldnt be a win if you are going against people that are handing you the game. Which is currently the majority of soloQ games.
Throws. -
Regular que is no better.
First game of the day.
Slug fest, even had a bon expo build didnt matter.
3rd game. Tunnel out at 5gens and slug the rest.
Back to playing killer. Since you cant play an entire half of this game anymore -

We're fairly confident that every killer change is not tied to SWFs. Hell we're confident not every change is tied to survivors in general.
So we want to point out that DBD is not your standard "team" game. Despite the fact that everyone, including us, uses the term "teammate", it's 1 killer against 4 different survivors who want out, aka 1 v (1v1v1v1). As survivor, your not graded based on the whole team, only your own efforts. Survivors are only a "team" in that working together usually is the best chance at escaping. Hard to explain but your both a team player while looking out for yourself.
Second is that having communication doesn't make a "team" game. Having communication doesn't inherently fix the teammates themselves. In our game shared with Spare_Them_Mori_Me, the problem wasn't communication, it was (to our eyes) self destructive lunacy. We'd get trying once or twice especially if the killer was nearby, those ones we're going every single chase off to who knew where hunting for it.
Every change to killer side for buffs is the direct result of complaining how "underpowered" they are.
Like none of the killer changes needed to happen at all in the grand scheme of this game. This includes last years billy blue overdrive.
I quotation underpowered because this only applies in SWF cases. Just scour the forum for all changes that apparently need to happen.
Legion changes is a good example. Perfectly fine killer I main it. But apparently needed all these changes and updates.
Plague another one I main people are asking for changes as well. Perfectly fine killer.
Look at the flame turret debacle for Alien. The changes were done directly for soloQ, and their inability to coordinate turrets. Youll just have teammates waste them, put them in places they dont need to be placed, or take extras they dont need. Having one do as much as it did with the first changes was a buff to soloQ.
But as usual, this would be too powerful for SWF. Was complained about. So it was reverted.
So, every update to the killers is directly catered towards the high end of survivor play. And not the average.
—————————
If it is truly 1v1v1v1v1 then there is no way they can keep the game designed the way it currently is. You shouldnt be held hostage by your "teammates" as they arent even your team at the point.
Winning wouldnt mean 3k/4k on killer if things are 1v1v1v1v1.
TCM for all its problems, did this so much better. Not just on communication, because you actually have that in that game. But also agency in your own play. You arent effected or held hostage by your team. You can just leave. -

Is anything in this game as complicated as a studio that makes games? Can tell you nothing in this game is even remotely that complicated. We see someone on hook and 2 not on gens via hud, we work on gens as we can make a pretty good guess that either 1 of those 2 is going to get that unhook, or something bad has happened (them trolling or killer camping) that caused them to not get it. We see both them get chased? Ohh thats probably a sign that we'd need to go try and do something. The killer stopped chasing someone as soon as the unhook happened? They probably coming back to tunnel.
If everyone knows what they're doing (admittedly a somewhat tall ask at this point) then yes, we feel its enough to get by in average matches. You don't need to have the killer be an idiot, you just need teammates who aren't idiots.
You could say that about any game.
The fact that every single change happening to dbd, specifcally on the killer side of things with buffing them.
Is because of SWF.
Killers are not being changed or buffed because of soloQ.
They have to start changing what soloQ's issues are. And its issues is its not a team game. Because you cant communicate with each other. -

Well due credit, that third one isn't one we've seen yet.
- Having a way to heal yourself 16 seconds multiple times does not seem like an objectively good idea to us. Maybe a buff to them sure, but completely undoing the nerf isn't the way to go.
- Putting the conditions on the finisher mori, as satisfying as that would admittedly be, won't solve much. Unless the problem is just being moried. It just goes back to normal slugging for the 4k.
- "Camping" is a bit vague but regardless of that how would it make "soloQ less miserable"? The slugged is still a slug, they have the killer on them, and at best they're at "need help to be picked up" quicker...with said killer still on them and all the teammates probably trying to get them up.
Bar maybe that first one, we don't see something that would solve soloQ major problems we see which we can boil into its simplest form of players doing whatever. Killers being jerks, teammates trying to "get out" on first hooks for reasons we can only guess, teammates prioritizing their rift over everything else, etc. For us at least the only real problem that creates misery is other people.

They gave the hud which if people used some brain power is enough to get through average games. Would more be nice? Sure. Do we need people explicitly telling us everything via communication? Nope.
Every single team game has some form of communication.
A ping wheel with callouts would be sufficient. Anything. ######### sake.
Christ. Anything in life as a team, you have some form of communication.
The people at BHVR just eradically walking around and doing things at their office everyday???
NO!!!!
The whole idea of a team, breaks down when there is >0< communication.
A hud telling you what other people are doing is not good enough. Not even a tenth good enough, to allow for coherent team play in DBD.
If BHVR wants to insist on 0 communication in any form, they have to restructure this game from the bottom up honestly. SoloQ is just a wipefest with all these killer updates, which only are for the SWF complaints.
Roll the dice, hope the killer is an idiot, and you might just win/the match wont be done at 5 gens = soloQ.
Players should not be punished because
:16th brains, or silly challenges, or insert excuse here….
I should not be punished okay? If timmyshinsmcgee over here wants to stare down the killer and spam point at him, while my teammate goes stage II for free.
