Another one comparing apples to oranges. What you're describing is just BMing. Killers humping isn't much different from survivors T-bagging. It's more annoying when you're just on the ground and can do nothing, yeah, but that's still not a bannable offense, unlike extreme hiding to hold the game hostage.
If you have any doubts about that, just check the rules on bannable offenses again:
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/MHWDUPA67MSZ/image.png
And before you try to find some loophole to say this covers BMing dying survivors, the devs have stated multiple times that targeting specific users repeatedly means something that has to happen on multiple matches.
And there's also this: the INVALID report reasons.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/HOB8XYJEDGOM/image.png
So, doesn't matter how much you try to compare hiding to hold the game hostage to slugging. One is bannable, the other is not. And seriously, trying to compare slugging to griefing just becaus there are very specific scenarios some people take the chance to be toxic is like trying to suggest any stealth at all is griefing just because it can be used to extreme hiding, or that merely standing behind open gates is toxic just because some people take the chance to BM the killer.
Wrong
The real apples to oranges comparison here is T-Bagging, and getting humped after a slug.
One of the situations there isnt a powerless 2nd party. And is not delaying the game. (T-Bagging)
The other has a person unable to do anything and you are just doing it to delay the game (Slugging)
Summarized:
T-Bagging, typing GGEZ, Emoting, is poor sportsmanship or Bad manners.
Slugging and humping delaying the game until bleedout, when you have the option to hook, is intentionally ruining someones experience or Griefing.
Hope this clarifies the distinction for you between BMING and Griefing. -
Yea survivor hiding has happened like…. a handful of times across several thousand hours here.
Its annoying as hell but you just report in this case. Its not common at all. -

Camping, tunneling and slugging aren't ways of "trolling" nor "holding the game hostage", unlike extreme hiding, which is a bannable offense. So yeah, you ARE comparing apples to oranges. If you think we are wrong for pointing that out, just look at the game rules about bannable offenses and statements made by devs about this. It has been stated time and time again that none of these things you are mentioning fit into the definition of holding the game hostage, and that they are actually legit strategies. Sure, not all of them are very fun to go against, but there's no valid comparison with actual griefing.
So people that slug never do it to grief?
Absolutely 0 videos out there with people getting humped on the ground for several minutes?
Just fake news in that department huh? -
Feel like this is on the same magnitude as everyone freaking out about the 10s hook timer increase.
And everyone is going to abuse reassurance with it.
Or plot twist corrupt cancel.
None of these things happened. -
Incentivizes 3 genning
-
You play normally and win 70%+ of your matches because 99% of them are soloQ where it doesnt matter how strong a killer is or is not.
-
Probably one of the largest problems in this game, and its only gotten worse with things like predator and zanshin, is the ridiculous amounts of aura read.
"Hes here hes here hese here!!! Look hes here!!!"
I prefer a bit more agency on killer play than something telling you where to go at all times. -
Without coordination or communication its a wasted perk more often than not. People dont wait out the timer… face save…. rush to the hook in an unsafe manner… dont know you have it.
Just like shoulder the burden. Strong in the minorty of matches youll actually have to go against SWFS. For the 90% of your soloQ games, if someone brought it, they may as well have had 3 perks as a loadout. -
no
-
RPD is just a map you should hop into a locker asap. Its such a joke
-
theres 0 reason wesker should have 3 charges…
Legion shouldnt be in this mode
There needs to be a global aura read cooldown
Honestly its just a killers paradise/brain off mode at this point.

Sounds like a fantasy to me. Must be a different copy of DBD you obtain where survivors are slightly organized.
Much less organized at all. -

the plague literally just spits on the generator and now anyone who touches it will spread the disease and expose everyone to an uncurable status, while the plague itself can be on the other end of the map, at this time the legion must run to you, must outsmart you in the pallet mind game and still there is a huge chance that the survivor will simply drop the pallet after the hit and stun him
With all this, the plague has a red liquid that gives power while the legion is just M1, it looks like you're making it absurd like "Trapper is OP and he has no counter game" or you're really that bad at understanding killersso I main both of these killers..
Yea…. you are crazy if you think legion requires any game sense to even start playing it. You are literally told where your targets are with your power and movement.
What you are describing with playing around pallets you have to do the exact same thing with plague, only the survivors can see you around loops easy because you are tall. And your red puke is limited and RNG where/when it will be available. As well as dependent on your opponents. You have to know when to use it as well.
Both have higher ceilings as well but plagues is way higher, some matches you only get your free fountains as red puke. Which depending on apples used can be only 1-3 times a match.
The floor for legion is almost the easiest in the game. -
shouldn't be in 2v8 in its current state.
-
You have a mode where 2 players arent even playing the game, get stuck on vaults, stuck and stand still with crows in corners, crouch walk around available generators and dont repair, dont help heal, body block…
List goes on for the bots.
And then you have legion, starting chase every 2 seconds revealing everyones aura, keeping everyone at 1 health state/mending, getting max out of their feral frenzy every time (if they arent an ape).
So you have 2v6 this time around and …. a killer that is way too powerful for the mode. Obviously its survivor sided. -
Just get rid of bots and disable legion or rework it a bit for 2v8. Clearly making one side of the field way too brain off with legion currently
Can cope with killer que times never getting a match, whatever. Played like 3 killer matches average wait was 15-20 minutes each, had to throw on something to watch.
Will happily play survivor but not with these stupid bots and legion with the way it is. -

Your post lost credit when you said "Killer was the easy role" I do agree legion is brain dead to use though so yeah…
It is the easy role, you have a legion on your team = you will have permanent aura read every chase they start, and you only need to worry about one health state at all times. The entire match.
If you think the survivor side of the mode is easier, then you either dont play it, only watch people playing their SWF, or baiting hardAlong with Bots sabotaging your own team constantly. Which could happen if they were people, but its GUARANTEED for bots. They literally get stuck in corners and vaults in this mode, and not repair, not run away.
There is LITERALLY clips of them crouch walking and pivoting around people repairing generators (with a free spot open so the bot could repair as well but it doesnt, it just crouch walks)
It turns into 2v6 most matches.
Killer is the… stupid easy role. Not even easy, its beyond easy. -
Like many have said in here. Mode is great, Legion and bots being in it is not.
Ill take the L and just que survivor and not ever get a killer match whatever. I like the survivor mechanics of 2v8 enough.
Just the silly legion permanent teammate aura read, everyone at one health state/mending, perma feral (you have to be an ape at legion to not get every hit in 2v8)
And then the bots just … egh… they dont fix anything. -

You have auras too your scouts should be on top of Legion revealing them and rebuilding pallets. Legion spree is also countered by 2 button pushes from the medics
Yea let me just coordinate 2 medics(players) to use a COOLDOWN ability and hope they have it.
You are essentially asking for soloQ to STB/Reassurance correctly.Do you play survivor at all ?
-
These bots were also a mistake jesus christ.
Body blocking asking for heals at innapropriate times, standing around doing nothing.
ffs -
Legions is broken in this mode, none of the abilities or aura reveals should happen when in feral frenzy its just a joke.
Stand still in these matches, this killer needs to be adjusted with the mechanics or just kill switched.
SMH bhvr -
Legion has its own tier in this mode.
Not C tier what is this list. -
Yea really feeling the legion now, think thats about it if they dont kill switch it. Rather just stand still if I am going to load into that for 2v8
The modes fun just not with this killer. You may as well load in with no mither in these matches.
Perma killer instinct, perma injure, too much healing…
Egh…. -

plenty of players, including me, enjoyed 2v8 during previous events. I 100% disagree that it’s dead. Putting bots and super unfun killers like Legion into 2v8 just made it way worse. Take out bots and Legion, make some tweaks to make survivor more interesting (or improve incentives to play survivor), and 2v8 is just fine. People who want to play killer will just have to deal with the long queue times. Tons of players were still willing to wait in line to play killer despite the long queue times.
Pretty much.
Sucks that I can only play killer if I want to wait 15minutes between each match.
But survivor is quirky enough. They could expand on it a bit but I like the roles. -

You should read my other post where i list out everything pretty clearly. But no need to be so hostile. It is true that pain res is a highly picked perk, but we are currently in the middle of a meta shift.
For example, if slugging is such a huge problem and so prevalent then why isn't knockout a highly used perk? Because the meta shift has fully happened yet, but it is happening currently and immanent.
Because you dont need knockout to slug.
SMH the posters head.
Do you play dbd at all? This is a serious question. -
Yea idk whats up with her hair either. Getting the outfit definetely but … its like someone poured oil on it as well. Not sure why its THAT shiny.

But the point is that hooking is NOT rewarding. The point is that slugging is more effective because hooking is so weak.
So false and if it were the case pain res wouldnt be the most picked perk by a factor of 2.
Along with every other killer HOOK perk being at the top of pick rate.Get this garbage false opinion outta here

I'm not sure I see how?
Shoulder the Burden only really has one very specific scenario in which it's even useful outside of the killer trying to tunnel, and because of the Exposed effect it can even backfire pretty badly.
The extra ten seconds per hook stages realistically aren't going to matter unless you're trying to force someone to progress hook stages without being unhooked, which was already kind of a losing proposition most of the time anyway. If survivors leave their teammates on the hook for longer, that's more time for you to generate pressure, which is to your benefit and not theirs.
The anti face camp system barely works for what it's supposed to do, you definitely don't have to worry about this mechanic unless you're literally trying to face camp.
None of these things actually benefit the survivors unless you play into them. Don't stick by the hook and don't concentrate all your attention on the guy who just got unhooked, that's already how you'd play killer more effectively. The fact that it thwarts these supposed second chance perks is a bonus.
Apparentely in this guys matches, which are mostly soloQ.
They are dealing with reassurance, DS, DH, OTR, and Shoulder.
All being used, much less used at all, perfectly.
And this is why they say tunneling is required.
Obviously they are mad that one game they made a misplay of tunneling one survivor that had DS/DH and now they are trying to use that as EVERY survivor they encounter has this.
When in reality it was a single survivor that got them with this.
Lets just ignore the fact that slugging doesnt require perks, at all to do. But its counter requires everything in the other direction, including coordination.
Bad faith arguments. -

https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3882473#Comment_3882473
Its just not. Also knight light is still a third party source that documents a MINORITY of stats but if you're so adamant… 4 out of the 10 perks in the top 10 used are directly linked to hooking. Only TWO of them being regression and the other is aura reading/gen stall. You definitely see surge climbing because its good and doesnt need the song and dance of go through 3 health state chases for the regression because someone runs across the map with their OTR and if i down them they have DS dead hard.
Nightlight has been shown, 4 times now, to be 1:1 from the developers released stats. Enough with the cope on it "being 3rd party"
OTR DS DH?
So your problem is with perks that only activate after a hook?
So….again do you only want to play against survivors that are perkless? Im just trying to understand your reasoning for slugging.
You say you avoid the "survivor meta".First down you dont have to worry about any of that.
So you just dont want to hook… at all?
Again, I put that up there in the first post. The hooks are in the game for a reason, survivors have health states for a reason.
Not to bypass them.
Which would be…. easy mode if you could.
And DS only happens if you tunnel. So you slug ….. and tunnel? How would that work?
Your posts are coming off as being very very…. VERY, odd at playing killer as a role. -
@Brimp said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3882463#Comment_3882463
It's not some easy mode button. You slug and you ignore the current meta from survivor being unhook perks. Thats what I thought being good is, to adapt which slugging ignores unhook perks. Even in solo if they are prepared for it other than the obvious being knockout it can still come down to the wire.
And despite all this hooking keeps getting worse and worse meaning more incentive to slug. Its an easy mode button.
It was made worse by the idiot decision for last survivor mori as well.
You saying you are ignoring survivor perks to do this basically tells me you cant play against survivors with perks.Or any control of their own either.
They have to be completely disabled and on the ground to succeed? This is where you are at skill wise?Pain res and pop are still the most common used perks.
With BBQ the third.
ALL of them hook perks.
With pain res being basically TWICE PICKED than any other killer perk.
All the forum whiney posts saying as well that you need to run gen regression too would be contradictory to saying hooking isnt worth it.
People saying there is little reason to hook or a detriment are just horrific at the killer role and need to git good, or just not be bad you dont even need to be good at killer. Just not bad. -
@Brimp said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3882395#Comment_3882395
What is needed is hooking to be more enticing. We're at a point in the game where getting hooked can actually benefit the survivors more than killer because of base kit additions and killers hook perks getting nerfed.
There is plenty enough
People just have hard copium thinking the majority of their matches are against coordinated survivors(the only real counter to slugging).
The fact and reason slugging is so successful is because that is not the case.
I dont do this stupid crap and win easily over 70% of my matches(i am under selling myself a lot here its probably 90%+). Legion I cant even remember the last time I 2/2, much less lost. Plague had a recent draw.
Killer players just need to get good because thats all it takes to win the majority of your matches. Not be terrible. -
@tjt85 said:
I've made the argument before that it would be a bad idea to make changes that would reward the very play styles that you are trying to discourage. Allowing Survivors to bleed out quickly is exactly what that does; reward Killers for slugging the entire team with an even quicker victory. If your only defense as a Survivor is to lose quicker, that's not a very good solution.
I'm not 100% sold on base-kit unbreakable when all 4 Survivors are still in the game, though. After all, it's a high risk, high reward strategy that can still backfire, even against a Solo Q team. But I also think it's unrealistic or unfair to expect at least 1 player in Solo Q to potentially waste a perk slot on UB or Soul Guard to combat a strategy that more often than not Solo Q disproportionately suffers against.
I'm not sure there is an ideal solution to the kind of hardcore slugging that feels like a cheesy short cut to a win, especially one that allows Killers to ignore the 3 hook states that are a core fundamental part of the game's design. But I hope BHVR can come up with something that feels fair to both sides, which is what I think they've mostly achieved with base-kit BT and the AFC system. Survivor perks should offer an optional extra layer of defense against certain Killer strategies, but they should never begin to feel necessary just to play the game you queued up for. That always feels bad.
I'd rather BHVR didn't have to add something to deal with 4 man slugging, but if they do add some form of base-kit UB, it will be because we've gotten to the point that it's actually become a necessary evil.
Could just have it where you can only baskit unbreakable when there is more than 1 person down.
-
I would just do baskit unbreakable and have the perk do something else.
You should be interacting with the hooks, thats why the devs put them there.Slugging should be a short term thing, not disabling several minutes for multiple people in a match.
Faster bleedouts would just make slugging MORE prevalent. We dont need that. -
@iOverSpray said:
It isn't 2016 any more where survivors are called potatoes hiding in corners while 1 out of 20 knew how to loop. You've made the game idiot proof from adding things like windows of opp, 4 hook states, 87 hits to get one down with perk combos of otr, ds and dh. You add gen time (because they fly) then nerf regression perks all while adding 100 gen speed perks and combos on top of only 10 kicks per gen which renders your added gen time pointless. Basekit bt, addition of anti camp and longer hook stages to do what? Combat tunneling against already strong survivors (not even swf) using offerings for maps like eerie of crows? 5 year olds could make better, less conflicting decisions. Balance shouldn't mean you only look out for the new player base. Even if it does, can you not hire some one capable of balancing the game in tiers?
You heard it here first.

Never mind how much I despise the word "gooner", how is the Jane skin P2W? Nothing in this game is P2W except rarely bugs and those tend to get killswitched until they can be fixed (like Baermar's Ugly Sweater was)
The last level of the track has not been out long enough for anyone to remotely get close enough to finish it. Yet some people have the skin (p2wd the entire thing)
P2w being used here, for purposes of fastforwarding the track rather than naturally progressing it. -

Yeah it's gotten really out of hand lately and it's making me question whether or not I want to keep investing time and money in DbD.
I could excuse the game being buggy in 2016, but now we're 8 years in. There's no reason why we should still be getting game-breaking bugs shipping with every update. I mean where is the playtesting? The QA? Some of the bugs that slip through are so obvious or egregious I have to believe they either didn't test things, or they knew it was bugged and pushed it live anyways. Neither of which is acceptable.
And on this topic, the devs should know what does and doesn't work in this game after 8 years. So why on earth did we get a killer whose power relies on AI/pathfinding/whatever its called? In the entire history of the game, they've never managed to pull this off. Knight is a buggy mess, bots are a buggy mess, Nemesis' zombies are a buggy mess, purple glyphs and memory fragments are buggy and erratic. I just can't understand why the Houndmaster's power made it past the initial ideas stages. Did noone look at "AI dog with search and chase modes" and say, "Maybe given the game's track record, we should do something else?" Because now we have another killer who is doomed to be forever janky. I don't get it.
Just gonna state I love the name lmfao

Bout done after this last reset with survivor. Its just not worth the frustration.
Killer you can just load up and chill, make your own rules and be the change you want to see. Which I do and still win nearly every single friggen match.Showing mercy somewhat with some slug races, or red light green light, but I dont wanna tank my MMR. Letting the last go always, which they DC thinking Ill slug mori them sometimes….
Get to have fun interactions as well. Making bunny fengs scream, meme back and forth on a 50/50 looking the wrong direction, loading up with int addons like walking nurse, object only puke plague, crouch only ghostface ..etc..
Most the public that plays killer really just dont have any self awareness of how broken this side is and full send for no reason.
Majority, vast of it, is against soloQ. Should treat it as such rather than make up some silly gen rush excuse.
