In the mmr that I'm playing at I would say 6-8 games out of 10 I play against SWFs.That doesn't mean 4 man bully or comp squads but mainly 2-3 friends in an SWF with 1-2 solo queue teammates.
Not even streamers that play this game as a career see SWFs this much. They are lucky to get about 2 of them within 12 or so games. So you def dont get that many.
We honestly need to make sure when we talk about things we dont over exaggerate at this level. This is why the game is so problematic in its current state. -

Seriously?
Old dead hard, old DS, brand new part, prove thyself, adrenaline, all nerfed since then at a minimum. Maps have gotten smaller, tile logic reworked to reduce it prevent chaining, pallets are weaker.
winning as a survivor has now become much easier with all the quality of life buffs
They have literally, intentionally, and expressly modified the game balance in the past even two years to make it harder to escape. They literally said so, and have published the stats to prove that they're being successful in doing so.
This is so biased it's obscene.
but that buff to throw pebble Eyy????? 😀
"What was that noise?" -
Oh yeah 100% map offerings, I dont know why they exist at all. Should just not be a thing.
If you want to choose a map just play a custom game. And there should be a select screen with all the realms and variants. -

I'm not one to "flex" but i have been playing since hag release and have 4k hours in this game. Ruin is a horrible perk because base regression is a complete joke, NOED is not a "hex perk" so to speak, Plaything is not really that strong by itself, only with pentimento. Pentimento is hard countered by survivors who just literally pay attention to where hexes are cleansed (and since 99% of the time it is paired with plaything, just don't cleanse the plaything.)
Blood favor is a joke of a perk, you block pallets 32 meters away, but the speed boost the survivor gets from getting hit gives them plenty of distance to get away from the area.
When you look at perks, you need to look at them as "time" how much "time" does this perk buy me. Look at deadlock for example. Deadlock buys you 100 seconds per game of gen defense. In order to get 100 seconds of use out of ruin, it has to regress a single gen for 400 seconds. Obviously each gen it regresses lowers that time, but the reality is that it often isn't even worth the survivor's time to look for it to cleanse. Sure if you run across it spend the time to remove it, but it isn't worth even looking for anymore. Ruin will never give you 100 seconds of pure value that deadlock just GIVES you for free.
Nor can blood favor end a chase fast enough to warrant it.
The only one that can probably do it is pentimento, but you also have to factor in that in order to get pentimento to work, you need to take another hex perk that survivors cleanse, and then you have to go out of your way to go to that spot, and activate it. Likely spending around 15-20 seconds to set it up. And it lowers gen speeds by 30%. If you assume 1 survivor being chased and 2-3 survivors on a gen, it is adding 38 seconds per gen. Which means that survivors would have to ignore it completely and power through 3 full gens before it reaches the same value as deadlock here. Again, a perk that needs no work to get going.
Well you have been playing this wrong since that time if you think that or just not paying attention ?
Its hard to say in your case, thats a long time to be completely wrong when it comes to what perks are "worth the risk".
Saying "the only hex worth the risk is devour hope" knowing full well (well you should if you play this game as much as you say) that one of weskers/plagues most popular and powerful builds has plaything, ruin has been reworked for several months now which is why its being picked, and then you just ignore NOED I guess for … some reason.
Tells me you just dont know that much.
Blood favor is not worth the risk? Yea I mean you are free to believe that but perma blood favor on its own all game, you win. Theres not enough distance or pallets outside of gideon for survivors to do anything. And its probably not even that bad on gideon as everything is so close together.
I dont really want to engage if you think Penti isnt worth the risk. ButYou need to branch out of whatever perks you are stuck in, as it seems you play a single way maybe and thats why you think the only "hex worth the risk" is devour hope.

Genrush never gave many blood points. And the surviving side is always deprived of blood points when repairing generators. A normal mancer in random simply works wonders when the other three are busy with generators.
I believe in the power of Genrush. And I always follow the rule. Repair the generator in any unclear situation. When the majority adheres to this, miracles happen.
If you had an open profile, I would send you the original via private message. Unlike the surviving side, I am quite honest. I can send the original to anyone who wants, via private message, to confirm my words.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3848293#Comment_3848293
Why does a team need a pre-game chat? You can always notify the team of your intentions.
Perhaps you should insist on the initiative so that survivors in the lobby can see each other's perks, rather than fighting diversity. Since nerfs will not help you.
Its not a gen rush though. In the solo screenshot one person has a toolbox and noone has ANY repair perks whatsoever.
There is no genrush there.
Again your screenshots arent reliable at all. And the response you gave basically doubles down that you are just making things up at this point.
In your "swf" screenshot you had one person with a toolbox and gen perks and none else.
So theres no gen rush happening in either of these. Its just terrible or non existent play by the killer. -

SWF survivors with friends. Will this answer satisfy you?
Just look at what happens to killers when they meet SWF
Even a team of competent solo players who know what to do can instill fear in killers.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/0AV3X1PE7JB7/20240621213103-1.jpg
Tell me why players choose the path of greed, when the only option is for the other three survivors to die? Why do players think not about the common good of the team, but about themselves?
You posted a screen that doesnt really help your case.
The second "solo" screen shot the survivors points are so low, that it looks like chase never happened or a single heal.
It honestly looks like this person just afked all round, and then quit in your examples.
And really really…. The second screen seems sus as hell for "solo" when I see several "just so happened to have synergy" perks and copies that your teammates do. I realize overwolf isnt showing anyone in your discord but you could just turn that off. Or your original screen wasnt an swf and you were just talking to friends.
This whole thing seems manufactured. -

Well, that’s it, by ignoring totems you free yourself 40+ seconds + waste at least 1 killer perk slot + if the killer has pentemento (and it often does) then not only do you free yourself 80+ seconds (original totem + penti) so you also force the killer to play with a maximum of 2 perks
Really quick in end game NOED I guess you just leave it on the field if you see it and someones on the hook?
Blood favor see it just run past? Leave it up all match?
Penti before 2 gens?
Face the darkness pig?Huntress lulaby Doctor?

This is what happens when BHVR listens to the rage bot bait accounts on balance.
The entire match is now about cleansing totems.

My main concern with many of these statements is that they place all the blame solely on the players, particularly killers, for employing certain strategies. These strategies didn’t emerge because killers wanted to annoy survivors; they developed over thousands of hours as a response to the current state of game balance. When survivors play at a competent and efficient level, the game can progress so quickly that even securing a single hook can feel like it costs the killer the match.
The solution isn’t to keep patching these issues with add-ons or surface fixes but to look at the overall balance of the game. Fun, diverse playstyles should be rewarded on both sides, ensuring neither is made overly weak while encouraging a fair and engaging experience for everyone.
Efficiency drives the meta on both sides, and these strategies are often a necessity rather than a choice.
These strategies didn’t emerge because killers wanted to annoy survivors;
Its a bit of both, and it is a player issue. You dont have to tunnel in this game.
In terms of annoyance and not just trying to play the game, that is a load of BS and you know it lol. Just look at any compilation of killer smack spamming survivors on hook and noding at them. Or WS spamming their slugs.
People take something out of context that they hear/witness something from a tournament setting and think it applies to their situations.
When in reality it doesnt -
Because everyone wants to play the easy and unique side of the game. Not enough survivors to fill the people that just want to steamroll
-
For the majority of people that play this game, as seen by released stats 3 TIMES now being one of the lowest kill rates:
Nurse is not OP
For those who are capable though?
Shes beyond what any other killer can do, and is OP.
So good luck as a developer trying to please anyone in this scenario. They put themselves in this position. -
I used to think there is a reason to come in get the skins and maybe do the challenges. But you play 1/2 matches and realize nothing changed and no matter how much FOMO they arent worth doing
-
Seriously, what's the point in playing survivior anymore?!
No real point unless you are a SWF its a luck based game with 0 agency.
-
Really hope they dont mess with my original main and make it brain dead like these recent "killer updates" that didnt need to happen

The same could be said about killer gen perks, they often don’t prevent the gens being done just prolong it in hopes of getting time to play the match.
How long is a survivor expected to last in chase and then work that out for 8 hooks before you can kill anyone compared to how long it takes the other 3 survivors to complete gens, then add in how long it should reasonably take to find a survivor chase them across the map walk to a hook and find another to chase. Unless survivors aren’t doing gens while someone is being chased it’s not really feasible to spread hooks and is completely in the survivors hands how much time you get to play during the match.
These aren't comparable situations.
If a killer wants you out, you're out. (tunnel/camp).
If you want to be left alone, for another target too bad ("anti-tunnel" perks)Anti tunnel perks just prolong the issue. You get chased downed and camped, not much play involved.
This only gets worse with the stronger killers where you REALLY have no option.
Generator regression perks are not required to allow you to actually play the game.
Again 2v8 showed us what hooks honestly need to do at this point (a pseudo cage mechanic). And they can work from there -
"run a perk you are forced into playing that doesnt prevent but just prolongs tunnelling"
Running anti-tunnel doesnt solve the issue in the first place. 2v8 and getting randomly teleported somewhere after a hook was really the only counter to this playstyle -
This perk is silly. Shouldnt even be a thing the state it is in.
If they insist on an aura read for losing chase then it needs to have a restriction, like a range requirement being far away like outside TR. If you lose chase on a loop and the survivor is in the loop youill just be told where they are and insta down on them on several killers. Theres no safety.Again, not for me it seems. Predator, Weaveabroken, and new Zanshin.
Its just becoming more brain dead each patch. If this is the direction, games staying grey on my steam. Not challenging and getting less on killer each patch, and then unplayable on survivor. Shame because I just saw the new rift as well and halloween right around the corner. But enough is really enough with this crap. Looks good at a distance, but once you play it you just want to hit escape and leave.
-
Yup just a bunch of "HES HERE LOOK HES HERE" happening with recent changes, like predator and Zanshin… and im just stepping away. This game can be about chase, but it doesnt need to scream at you where everyone is at all times, killers are too powerful for that to begin with.
Sucks cause the rift looks like it has cool stuff but I rather not have the headache of all knowing map hacks and constant "killer updates" that dont need to happen.
Game for someone else to enjoy, might go back to TCM rather have at least some form of critical thinking. -

Pretty much.
Load up any high mmr streamer that plays this game for a career. And legitimately count their wins and loses, its going to be something like 90/10.
Yet you have TruTalent being like "oh man its survivor sided, I lost a game once every 18 matches.."
SMH my head. -
Camping and tunneling even being a thing in this game. And being rewarded for it

Yea more aura read as well as a nerf to distortion. 10/10 change devs, lowering the skill expression of killers every single update.

You can outplay crows at loops, specifically ones with blind corners and stay in the loop.
The artist places a crow at a loop. If I go one way, I get downed, and if I go the other way, I also get downed, if I leave the loop, I get downed. Tell me what exactly is the counterplay here? If you think there is any, you have proven not understanding the artist. At least you can actually loop the unknown.
Artist has one tool and has to be precise, Unknown has 2 and does not need to be even close to the same magnitude of precise. You can shoot a wall or the ground. Artist you have to wait for them to cross the crows path.
Just because Unknown is easier to play than Artist doesn't make him better.
If by prove you mean denying data and actual skills available to both sure. You have proven not understanding either killer.
I have proven that Artist has better zoning, map control, and information than Unknown.
If you think Unknown is OP that's a massive skill issue. He's low A tier, but not too strong at all.
Yea I mean you are free to believe whatever you want on Artist and Unknown im not here trying to take your opinion on them, even when those opinions are at odds about what is known of both killers. You are free to your opinions. Maybe you dont want your killer (Unknown) nerfed? I cant say, I dont know how and what you play.
Fact of the matter is though, when we match up what we know about each power there is a clear winner, and its Unknown.
It only gets worse for Artist when we look at pick and kill rate data on these as well, and its a clear standout. You have one killer at 64% kill rate, and the other at 58-60%. And pick rates of 2.5 vs 1.3.
And we didnt even talk about maps with elevation, against Artist if you lose on anything thats not Autohaven or Coldwind, welp those are some of the worse survivors in the world. She essentially becomes powerless on any map with elevation difference, or large stairs.
So again, its a braindead version of Artist. Broken for several reasons as discussed above. There clearly needs to be work done on him to bring him more in line with whats reasonable for killers. But let me just state again you are free to believe or have opinions on things, even if they are completely opposite of Data, and powers, about both killers. It shows a lack of understanding when faced with facts but thats okay, its an open and free discussion.Hope this helps clear up some of your confusion.

A single not even hard to place aoe shot from Unknown will force you from a loop.
This is just not true. You are over representing the Unknown's power to make him seem a lot stronger than he actually is.
And if you linger there too long, guess what drops on the ground?
The unknown can drop clones at loops, but Artist can drop crows at loops and effectively forces survivors to leave them. What's your point exactly?
Artist is picked half as much as Unknown she is down with Freddy in terms of pick rate, thats really all that needs to be said.
This could be due to a variety of reasons, but imo Artist is not played often because of boring or clunky gameplay and relatively high skill floor to use properly.
She is inferior on every level.
She's not. I've already proved how she's better in almost every way.
Because, much like the nurses kill rate shows 3 times now, the majority of killer players that play this game lack skill.
Irrelevant.
This could be due to a variety of reasons, but imo Artist is not played often because of boring or clunky gameplay and relatively high skill floor to use properly.
What I have been saying all along. As Unknown is not, his skill floor is low, too low, and then ceiling is higher than Artist.
This is just not true. You are over representing the Unknown's power to make him seem a lot stronger than he actually is.
Stay at the loop and get hit UVX, or stay at the loop and get an image.

What's your point exactly?
You can outplay crows at loops, specifically ones with blind corners and stay in the loop. Unknown eventually will drop an image and you just die. She has a single way to down you around a loop with crows.
Unknown has 2 ways. She's not. I've already proved how she's better in almost every way.
If by prove you mean denying data and actual skills available to both sure. You have proven not understanding either killer.
Because, much like the nurses kill rate shows 3 times now, the majority of killer players that play this game lack skill.
Relevant when you look at her pick rate versus unknown, TWICE as less. This is why her pick rate is so low, because just like nurses kill rate 3 times in a row DESPITE BEING, the strongest killer in the game. She is picked low and has terrible kill rates.
Aka majority of killers lack skill. Not saying you specifically I dont know your gameplay.
This is why Unknown is a broken and braindead version of Artist. You can refute data that's fine though, you can have that opinion. -

A single well placed crow can force survivors to abandon a loop. You can't just say "Unknown is a broken braindead version of the Artist" without understanding how she works.
The Artist requires prediction, timing, and map awareness to maximize her power. Survivors can’t just mindlessly hold W in loops when she’s nearby because placing a crow at a key spot forces them to either abandon the loop or get hit. A well-placed crow on a vault or a pallet completely changes how survivors must approach the chase, disrupting the usual looping mechanics and creating a real challenge for them.
Sure, the Unknown has more straightforward mechanics with his ranged attack and map traversal, but that doesn’t make the Artist inferior. The Unknown’s abilities are great for mobility and pressure, but the Artist excels at multi-tasking pressure—she can zone, track, and injure survivors all from a distance without physically needing to be in the same spot. This requires skill in managing her crows and prediction of survivor movement, something the Unknown’s abilities don’t offer.
Her playstyle offers much more depth in terms of map control and zoning, while Unknown is focused more on direct engagement and relentless pursuit. Both killers have their strengths, but the Artist is by no means inferior—her ability to disrupt loops with a single crow takes finesse and knowledge of survivor behavior.
A single well placed crow … a single not even hard to place aoe shot from Unknown will force you from a loop. And if you linger there too long, guess what drops on the ground? So yes Unknown is a braindead version of the Artist. With a get out of jail free card.
The Artist requires all of that. Unknown doesnt, and is rewarded too heavily for any room for counterplay. Doesnt remove the effect after a damaging hit, but even RESETS the effect. After hook can just teleport somewhere, even cross map. Can close down loops in 2 separate ways.
Unknown is a braindead, broken version, of Artist.
Artist is picked half as much as Unknown she is down with Freddy in terms of pick rate, thats really all that needs to be said. She is inferior on every level. Because, much like the nurses kill rate shows 3 times now, the majority of killer players that play this game lack skill.@DarKStaR350z said:

If you miss the shot after hitting them the first time to put the status on them they can break out by looking at you before you can fire another shot and have to put the status on again. It also has way more travel time on the projectile than Artist or Huntress so is harder to hit and easier to dodge.
If you miss a shot with unknown on a loop then hate to break it to you hang up your skill towel, you dont have any. Its a very hard skill to miss on loops. Comparative to having to be precise AS WELL AS using a 1 or 2 crow with little time on Artist its not even in the same realm.
Or you can just drop your image as well after so long on a loop, you get a get out of jail free card if you cant manage to hit an aoe ranged ability, and m1. But to suggest artist around a loop is more dangerous is over representing something that is picked TWICE LESS than the unknown. For a very good reason. -

What I meant by better map pressure is that she can harass any gen on the map, whereas the unknown can't. Maybe map control is a better way of describing it.
Worse zoning? She literally renders loops useless by just placing one of her three crows.
She gives easy information. You can just fire some crows at some distant gens, if you don’t hit anyone, it’s relatively safe to assume there isn’t a survivor there, so you just eliminate 3 possible gens from needing to be patrolled and you can check the others now.
She is worse at zoning, she does not render loops useless by just placing crows. You do render loops useless as the unknown though, in two ways.
With crows you will actually have to see where you are shooting as well, have fun guessing blind corners on precise crows whereas I can just shoot the wall or the ground with Unknown and laugh. Or drop my image during chase around the loop and laugh some more. With crows I had to hit either a 1 send or a 2 send to even make the ranged hit happen, and even then it removes the effect after a hit; Unknown just… keeps the effect because that needs to happen for some stupid reason. Oh and around corners you dont have to worry about survivors losing their effect either as Unknown, as they cant look at you.
Yes shes worse at zoning by about a factor of 10 there.
She gives information congratz… theres 15 broken aura reading perks that do the same job and are better. Id rather have map traversal than crows that only temporarily show me someone on a generator. Her tracking is one of the worst in the game. Have fun with information on survivors not on a generator its a 100% guess on that one.
So yes, Unknown is a broken and braindead expression version of Artist. -

She cannot move cross the map or around anything, whereas unknown can.
She requires higher skill expression. Has worse zoning.
Has pretty horrific information but better than unknown having none. -

The unknown broken? Have you actually tried playing them before coming to this conclusion?
He replaced artist as the two hit ranged killer, where she has hard restrictions for sending 1 crow or 2 and actual skill/timing on the next hit, which removes crows to do it again;
Unknown you dont have to aim and you keep your effect after a hit with ranged, and you get map traversal… because that just had to happen for some reason.
Yes its broken. -

Solo hasn't gone in any direction. It's suffering from bad MMR. It's not the killer being too strong; it's your team not being good enough. Try as you might to escape no matter what, to up your MMR, it keeps putting potatoes in your matches. And at the same time, the killer usually isn't a potato, so the results of that are obvious. You can't get any good data on game balance from these matches, because it's all skewed, exactly the way it was with rank-based, random matchmaking.
It is a soloQ issue not an MMR one. I cant communicate or coordinate a save, against soloQ you literally just have to camp and tunnel and you win the game, it doesn't matter what killer you play.
Its not "they are bad" but I cant tell someone to think a bit more macro at the time; they have 0 clue what is happening from my or other peoples perspectives. For example waiting on the save a bit more. SoloQ you just assume they arent going for the save even if they are closer… than you across the map. You have to spend time clicking or emoting to go places for healing, get them off a gen creating a 3 gen or deadlock… I could keep going.
These kinds of situations are just endless and, not to sound combative, but to have to explain something like this; almost tells me a lack of experience and understanding on the matter. Rather than just writing everyone off as "potato"
