They have Soul Guard definitely and I'd guess We're Gonna Live Forever. Maybe two other healing perks.

Just shows that the devs are killer sided lol

Sorry if you felt that I insinuated that you did, I was just making a broad statement to any readers that non-constructive comments do not add anything to the discussion.
It's no problem mate I didn't take offense. Just didn't have time to read and write out a full reply.

I'm sure the developers do not ignore any issue they see, there is only so much they can do. There is probably a massive backlog, and less assuming things that take priority over a hard to replicate issue only a handfull of people have experienced. Sure, voice your opinions, but keep in mind you are not entitled to a response from the development team when they notice it. Complaining is sometimes constructive, but often times it's not.
"Fix the game" does nothing for anyone.
That's why I never just say "Fix the game".
-
I hope in real life you never complain about a business then. Never complain about someone getting your order wrong or something being late on delivery.
People complain because unfortunately the devs just ignore them on certain issues. This causes frustration in the community so they shout louder and more often so the devs may actually hear them.

I'm confused by the green circle. Can you do it without claiming the ones before it?
No. I wrote just above the picture that you need to complete one of the challenges before it.
Decided to use it there because that challenge I'll probably leave till after the killer is released.

Shelter Woods is at least good against low-mobility killers. Midwich is just horrible for survivors and killers. Well, except for Hag lol. She's a nightmare there.
At least I know where the pallets are on Midwitch.

Midwich, the map that is so bad that it sucks for both killer and survivor, would like to have a word with you
I'd take 10 midwitch maps in a row rather than play shelter woods once.

Eh not really tbh. Here's my reasons why:
- Can't earn the skins
- No real reason to grind the rift. Just another set of pointless charms (remember that rift survey 6 months ago).
- Event is just 'do gens/get hooks' like most other events.
- Bugs
Here's what I am excited about:
- New challenges. Creating archive guides is a good reason to log onto the game.
- New skins. Love the Feng, Legion and Ghostface skins.
- New challenge variations
Just feels like another beginning of Tome day tbh.

Exactly! The only real noteworthy problem about the event were the seriously long killer queue times and the intense grind for the serum, both of which were actually fixed during the middle of the event with a single smart change. The ability to earn serum from both roles alleviated the how long the grind was and allowed you to play your preferred role doing it, and significantly improved killer queue times dramatically.
At the end of the day the most important thing for an event to do in order to succeed as an event is to change up the pace of gameplay from the normal tried and tested gameplay that we always experience more than 80% of the year. If it doesn't do anything to notable to shift the pace of the game (IE: Doing Reskinned Generators) it is hardly worth actually playing because it's not exactly an event. All that does is give you glorified "targets" to hit out of your objectives and that's absolutely no different from what we do on a regular basis.
The Hallowed Blight and Lunar New Year Moonrise event were my favorite events for this reason, the Visceral Cankers from the former which added a unique gameplay element and created an atmosphere in Dead By Daylight that the entity was undergoing it's yearly "purge" of the blight, and especially the Lunar Lanterns that you had to capture and carry out as you escape were some of the best and most memorable events from Dead By Daylight's history.
I completely forgot about the terrible queues.

Potentially because we have licensed blighted cosmetics for what is the first time. The license holders might have forced BHVR into selling it real money wise. Thats just a theory though so I’m probably just stupid.
It's an interesting thought. Though it wouldn't explain how Felix is auric cell only. If he can be made to only be auric cell only, surely the same could be done for Ghostface.
The devs want to help new players but this just punishes them. Players with more hours are more likely to be able to buy the skins for free (shards). New players/casual players unfortunately will only be able to buy 1/2 of the pieces from a set.

In my experience every survivor fought over who got what then immediately killed themselves on the hook to get into another game faster. It was extremely poorly thought out.
Imo event should never be more than gens/hooks at the most it should be like those crowns and if they are keep that crap in a seperate mode.
At the time I only played a 2 man swf. Very rarely did either of the 2 ransoms kill themselves or dc.

Right? The Hallowed Blight was honestly the best time I've had in a DbD event. Sure there were flaws but it was a blast with friends.
Edit: Also on topic, I kinda don't see a reason for killers to play this event. As Space Coconut has stated the Bp bonus is probably gonna be little to nothing, add on is limited time and messes with the killer power, and you can't earn outfits if the rumors are true. A really big shame.
It was just something cool to do before doing gens. Loved the feeling when you got a full vial in one game lol
Unfortunately killers during events only are really allowed to hook survivors. Killers should just use puddings or gateaus instead. The skins are shard buyable but no event currency unfortunately. So they've somehow made it even less worth while playing the event as killer.

It was an unbalanced mess but I absolutely loved that event :') I miss ignoring gens for that sweet succ succ
I was actually surprised how little difference the kill rate was during that event for me lol still my favourite event they've done. Nothing better than finding that petal off spawn lol
-
You have more chance beating the bully squad but it's less fun if you aren't playing well. Thing is beating the bully swf is 10x more satisfying than the sweaty swf.
So I'd agree with your discussion.

The last hallowed blight with the Pustulas was a completely unplayable shitshow so I'm amazed they've decided to ruin the game for serious players for 2 weeks again. With less incentive this time.
It wasn't that bad. You just spent the first 2 minutes running around the map looking for the petals and then play normally again. I'm actually disappointed they didn't do it last year.
-
If I really believe Hag is a survivor can I choose her? She's small so technically she could pass for a Nea.
Otherwise it would be Nea.
-
I usually have an answer for these sort of questions but I can't think of it right now.
This is going to be very random then but Connor from Detriot Become Human. Think it would be very interesting for a survivor to not be human. A character who acts human but isn't actually. No idea if it could even slightly work or not.

A contest for a good free perk would be nice.
I've wanted them to do it for a while. I'm not the best designer so I find it a bit annoying nearly every contest they do I can't really get involved in.
Feel like in particular creating some good free perks for killer would be appreciated.
-
Personally I feel the bottles should refill over time. Bottles reload every 15 seconds but lower his bottles to 3.
Means he doesn't waste time reloading but isn't able to just throw bottles crazily. Needs to be smart about where and when to throw them. Means that at every loop he should have at least 2 bottles to use and max 3.

Okay so you can play with your friends. Screw the rest of us killers and solo players that don't like being FORCED to play with or against swfs. Awesome. Bubble bursted you win. P.S a lot of people despise having to play against swfs. It's NOT fun for us. I love the blind arrogance in statements like killers would have it easy if there were no swfs. Not true in anyway but the excuse to keep the swf option is that just that an excuse. Gawd forbid the solo survivor queues would have to elevate their game. To brave the loss of the swf option.
Maybe some survivors don't want to face Spirit, Deathslinger or that she devil Hag....
Maybe some survivors don't want to face Scratch Mirror Myers or Iridescent Head Huntress.
Maybe some survivors don't want to face mori's.
Maybe some survivors don't want the killer to know who they are before the game starts incase the killer dislikes then for some reason.
My point is both sides have things they dislike facing. Unfortunately not every game can be fun for everyone involved. The devs can't touch swf because not every swf team is the sweat squad killers hate. There are many terrible swfs out there but usually people just assume it's a solo lobby if everyone is terrible.
Currently the game is extremely favoured in the killers favour vs 4 solo players. Since you don't have reliable teammates you usually will die in 90% of your 4 man solo games if the killer is anyway decent.
-
Depends on the group tbh. I have less fun because I play killer casually atm.
-
A sweat squad doesn't bring 3 OoO. I'd say they were deliberately bringing a toxic build for that game. Full sweat squads would only need 1 OoO.
I might be wrong but I don't think they play every game like this. Just for this one game they did.

Yeah, that's like playing among us with comms. You either play by rules and shut your mouth when it's not a discussion or when you are dead, unless you are talking on unrelated topics or you are a cheating moron. Especially if you are playing with randoms, while being in party with a friend. There's a special place in hell for both SWF "jUsT fOr fUn" and Among Us "My friend told me that imp is X"
This discussion is quite pointless. Your just trying to create an argument.
I need to say people have to stop comparing Dead By Daylight and Among Us. They are completely different! I've already explained this in another discussion but I'll do it quickly now.
A killer can beat a 4 man swf on comms. If people uses comms on Among Us it's IMPOSSIBLE to win as imposter. Someone just calls the button after someone is killed and they are voted off. If it's online with randoms then a party of 5 people will win 100% of the time. 4 people is 99% a win also unless the other 6 people immediately know the 4 others are working together.
Anyone who tries to compare Dead By Daylight Swf teams and Among Us comms teams just shows how little they understand this game.
-
At the time it was because of Bubba.
-
Getting a stealth tier 3 myers mori. I know monto did a build on this recently but I did it last year and a few times since.
Just that moment where you see a survivor who doesn't know your coming about to be grabbed is amazing.
Otherwise I'm a sucker for a good reverse bear trap kill. Still proud that I was able to get someone to have their head pop while they were slugged lol
-
If survivors don't loop or pallet camp they will lose since they have no defense against the killer.
The killer doesn't need to camp to kill all 4 survivors. Sometimes they need to proxy but not guaranteed.
-
This is where my problem with the devs kick in. They are quite happy to answer things that are easy to answer. Yet when it comes to questions like these they just bury their heads in the sand.
-
If 3 survivors all rush one gen with bnp that's actually not a terrible thing. Probably better than all 3 survivors on separate gens.
I personally never grab it since I don't think it's amazing anymore.
-
Wraith yes. Though I wonder is it meant to be an anti-camping tool.
Hag Nooooooooo. She would need her ability changed in order to justify this. Her camping ability is too strong already without a flashlight. I do agree it's terrible game design that a killer can be weak with perks/items (flashlight + urban) but really strong without.

Yeah I guess it isn't the best solution. Now that I think of it, it does only really benefit people who have already played the game for a long time.
It really only helps players who have over 500+ hours since they are the ones trying to get every perk on every character. I do think they should do it anyway because trying to teach a new player the perks, then the differences in tiers is a bit too much.
They would probably need to lower the teachable unlocks and also add a few more free perks to make it better. Could make for a good contest. Design a good free perk.
-
@Yords said:

I mean this is an idea, however I believe that it would be better for the game to have all perks at tier 3 from the start due to how many perks there are in the game right now.
It's a good suggestion but doesn't really stop the initial grind of the game. Players still need to reach tier 40 to unlock the 3 teachables so there's still a big grind for new players.
I suggested all perks be tier 3 a week or two ago in a different post. There is just 1 problem I didn't think of before I suggested this. There are only 14 survivor and 12 killer free perks. This means on a level 1 player they'll have every available perk unlocked at earliest level 14 for survivor and 12 for killer. Then they need to reach 40 to unlock the teachables.
My idea focused more on getting a perk without having to buy a chapter and grind to it. An example is Kate's Windows Of Opportunity. I know that is her only good perk and is extremely useful for new players. It would be nice to allow them to unlock it without having to buy the full chapter.
-
He doesn't enjoy the game anymore. Only comes back for 1/2 videos, says he'll be better then doesn't goes into hiding.

Oh for sure. I mean it don't stop the other strategy where the hag plans 5+ traps in the vicinity at other spots but it would at least stop using the pink add on from being a free grab.
Hey if I had my way Hag wouldn't be in the game lol
-
Free Perk Unlock Tokens. These are earned every 25 levels up till Devotion 1. These will allow you to unlock any perk you want from any character in exchange for the token.
This will help new players unlock some perks through playtime. Think of this as a prestige token in Call Of Duty but you can only get a max of 4 of them. Gives new players something to work towards without seeming a bit too much of a grind.
-
Hag shouldn't be able to place traps right next to the hook.
-
I'd rather walk a mile, bare foot on lego than face a Hag.

Another example of this was Clown kinda, sure it showed him the bottle but it gave no hint to it being a clown
Yea if I remember correctly his trailer was after the ptb (I think). The teasers before though were good enough to build up some hype. Don't know why but the teaser of Kate playing the guitar was really good imo.

Hopefully in the future they realize that, tbh I did find the whole speculating for the Chains of hate and what the theme was, it was fun and I heard a lot of crazy ideas, however when it was revield to be a wild West theme, that surprised me. I personally didn't think about Wild West, but after it was revealed who the killer was it was sorta meh later on.
Everyone speculated it was a killer who could knock down walls (based off breakable wall leaks). Then when there was no teaser the reveal felt flat.
The same could've been said for the Blight if the leaks didn't reveal who it was. Also the teaser before was 100x better than the one for Deathslinger.
-
I agree with this 100%. Let's look at the last 4 chapters:
Cursed Legacy: Really good build up with teasers of Rins grandfather. Trailer released before the ptb built up the hype even more. 8/10
Chains Of Hate: One teaser of a chain. No trailer before ptb. Felt underwhelming. 3/10.
Silent Hill: Build up was mainly done by the community. We knew when the trailer was coming out so it built up suspense. Excellent trailer into immediate ptb. 9/10
Descent Beyond: One short teaser before it which confirmed the communities belief that the killer was the alchemist. No trailer before ptb which made the Blight feel a bit meh. The trailer shown was excellent and if it was shown before the ptb it would've been amazing. 6/10 because of the community.
-
I don't think exhaustion add-ons should be such a low rarity. I also would say it shouldn't be on certain killers.
Huntress doesn't need any exhaustion add-ons but I don't mind Clown having one as long as the rarity is increased.

LITERALLY! I hate when there's no trailer to hype up a release, or if there is, it's after PTB which is weird.
Just kills the hype for me. It's why when they build it up like for the Cursed Legacy and Silent Hill chapter it's soo much better.
-
How about we just remove Hag? It'll fix your problem and mine 👍
-
I only play the game maybe once/twice a week currently (one of these is when I'm drinking). I haven't felt like playing killer in a while.
-
Feel like Cursed Legacy had a lot of hype. People didn't know if it was Rins ancestor, father or other.
Definitely least hyped was the Chains Of Hate. I hate when they don't show a trailer before the ptb and since no one had any clue about the killer before the ptb it just felt meh.
-
Detectives Hunch: Once per match be able to call out a survivor for acting kinda sus.
-
This game will never be balanced perfectly. Players with lots of experience will balance the game better for themselves than for new players.
Just imagine what would've happened if the devs asked the fog whisperers about the ruin change before it happened. I'd be nearly certain that change wouldn't have made it to the game, even though it was an excellent change.
