Wow, what a miserable person to play that way. I would have done the same, waited until all the gens were done to buy my team time, then dc'd. No rancor for you.
Oh, so you're worse than the killer. Your team wins because of your being obsession, and instead of accepting it, you DC like a child.
I dont blame killers one bit when people like you still DC to spite every and anyone.
It's a game. Move tf on and accept the loss.

I have my stuff set to private. So I never have to deal with it.
I thought about doing that, but I like the salty messages whenever I decide to pick up my saw as a member of Bubba Gang. Sometimes I even get through to a normal human being. That's always a bonus.

Being a console scrub it's a nonissue for me.
Oh I'm on console too. That's just my response/message to them. I dont get hateful or salty and "######### you garbage" etc. But I let them know I feel for them. They never like that.
Especially when they message me after smacking me nonstop: "gg ez" or "you dont get points".

The thing is that I didn't have an issue with the old doctor. I didn't struggle with him that much. I never had this DH issue before either. Maybe it's because of the challenges like you said.
Probably. I thought about it too, and with old doctor the passive madness was a #########, but you could avoid/plan it. Now, you cant hide in lockers every time to 100% avoid it, but it's also not able to be spammed.
I just did my tome 2 doctor branch of challenges, and I literally soammed shock and ran from gen to gen, and back to unhooks. Didnt kill anyone. But the strategy for finding people to chase is super easy. Now had I committed to any of them, the other 3 would probably have wrecked my ######### anyway.
I just think theres a lot of "shock and chase" doctors atm. Which is why I've had calm spirit on since tome 1 showed doctor so much. Such a lifesaver.

If you don't have a means of downing another survivor than no it is not toxic. If it was a killer with a chainsaw I would call it toxic because they have a way to down another survivor. If you were old nurse I would also call it toxic cause you could catch them before they get to the exit if you were good. Now, with the cd for blinks, I'm not so sure.
Able to down a survivor and guarantee is another thing. If you go chainsaw sprinting at one, and another unhooks, and you miss, camping would have been a better move.

It's more about how much survivors can mess up without really sacrificing anything. His longest chase in the entire match was 25 seconds, yet they got so close to finishing gens and escaping.
He messed up his chainsaws 3 or 4 times and 2 gens pop. Your conclusion just sounds extremely biased to me. If they had all been amazing at loops, juking and making him waste time I'd understand your perspective, but it obviously wasn't the case.
If a 3000 hour streamer struggled to win this game what can all of us mere mortals do when in that situation?
Just ignore them. They troll/bait every thread.
They can say devs want a 2k, but what they really said was 2k is an even match. Not the goal or what should be every game.

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/127398/i-translated-what-the-plague-says
You do know that “produce of the sea” means fish, right? And other such aquatic creatures caught for food. Also, Adiris begging the sea goat god to exorcise people doesn’t make sense in her context, as her people are suffering from a plague. Not from an infestation of demons.
Also, I did some research, myself, and I found out that the Babylonians are polytheistic. In other words, they believed that there was more than one god. So addressing a single god as “god” wouldn’t be that appropriate in a polytheistic pantheon. And to make matters worse for this theory, Akkadian was only spoken by the Babylonians in the second millennium BC, so between 2000 and 1000 BC. Adiris came from Babylon somewhere between 600 BC and 500 BC. Therefore, she cannot possibly be speaking Akkadian.
Good research, but do you really expect the devs to follow actual facts 100% accurately? They saw things close enough, and ran with it. Because it fits and most people wont find out/care about the small inconsistencies.
I doubt they made her with a hard rule set as to where/when shes from. A lot of loose interpretations I'd wager.
-
The same way as old doctor?
Calm spirit, iron will, and lockers.
It also doesnt help the new tome has a lot of "shock" and "chase" as doctor. So theres a LOT of that going on.
-
If it was a good game and they camped because we outplayed them and they had no option, nothing.
If they camp first hook and 3 others escape due to their ignorance: "you dont get many sacrifices, do you? I'm honored to be your hook of the day."

Seriously, here story allows for many an oppertunity to make her evil.
For examples: maybe she made or spread the plague on purpose to gain rank quicker between the religious healers she was a student off.
Maybe she grew angry with her inability to heal people so out of frustration she killed those that came for her aid.
Maybe she went full Final Fantasy and desided that to end all suffering, she must end all life and started killing all infected.
But non of this happens, she is an absolute saint till the end sooo why is she a killer?
Because they dont have to be bloodthirsty evil beings to be a killer.
The entity feeds on many things, and forcing people like wraith, doctor (to an extent), and plague to live after death and continually torture people against their will is one of them.
Not all killers want to be there. That's a very big point in the lore.

The Entity meanwhile we know has consumed entire worlds.
Dungeons and dragons?
Because the mind flayer was long around before ST existed.
Even then, entire civilizations of Illithid wouldnt be as powerful. They can controll and devour minds, and use psychic abilities, but not control the creation amd course of an entire realm to the degree the entity can.

Yeah a lot of the killers/survivors lately feel very lack luster. Their perks even look very niche. Like they were designed specifically to draw in more players but not to keep them.
I think newer perks seem more niche because they're running out of basic perk ideas. Theyve done most of what can be done with perks, except for getting really specific and niche.

Amanda made traps that couldn’t be escaped in the movie and you rarely die to traps making the traps harder wouldn’t only help her it also fits her character
Harder is one thing. Making it a hard 3rd attempt just makes it a power with a specified requirement and not the guessing/picking that it fits.
Also, werr forgetting the trap she was in required her to kill someone else to get out, not shed her own blood. Theyve already taken liberties with how it works compared to her actual story.

Doesn't Amanda Young actively rig the games in the movies?
She does, which is why she was punished as well. In that logic, NO boxes would have keys.
We have to have it stick to the actual core concept despite her personal flaws. Yes she rigged games, and that was her downfall/ticket to the entities realm.
But I doubt shed rig them to have them in every single box, or be able to know which 2 the survivors would go to first making the third always have it. That's less rigging and more being psychic lol.
-
@NullEXE said:
I don't like the RNG part of it, imo it should be always the third box you goto, and you have to go to 3 boxes.
Its not RNG except for the key being placed. Its survivor choice and probability.
Having it open on the third box every time would ruin all of its entertainment, how it fits the movie itself, and would lead to pigs running "when a survivor is working on a jigsaw box" addons to watch for 2 attempts.
The key placement and looking for it is fine. Some people just dont like when survivors pick correctly.
But think about how often theh choose wrong and die trying their last box.
It iterally all comes down to the core of saw/the pig: Make your choice.
-
Yes they should. Have you even seen the movies?
Not only is it based on the players CHOICE, it fits the movies perfectly.
Your key is in a box, you just have to choose which one leads to your salvation.
Does the pig need tweaks to make her power more useful? Sure. But removing the traps is based on survivor choice and decisions, not RNG (or you could use the same box over and over until it worked), and fits in perfectly with her character.
-
Considering you dont need to do the archives at all, as they are optional, and missing like, a dozen challenges wont stop you from finishing the rift, it's fine.
The whole purpose of the rift was to draw in cash, I do t know how people are surprised by having dlc characters in the archives, which people seem to think are attached at the hip to the rift.
You dont need to do the challenges at all, but if you feel the need to, buy the characters. Dont act surprised that BE wants your money.

Oh I got it, I understood.
What I don't understand is that (this is in estimate).
A gen can be done in 80 seconds, without toolboxes or any perks, just regular Survivor's work.
2 Survivors cut the gen time by 50%, doing the gen in 40 seconds.
3 Survivors is a 30 second gen time.
4 Survivors can do a gen in 20 seconds.
I'm pretty sure there's diminishing returns on every survivor on the gen. So 2 doesnt make it go twice as fast, more like 1.5 times.
-
Yes there needs to be more survivor than killer.
The ratio should be 4:1.
But how things are now, its more like 15:1.
Which is why killers find games instantly and survivors have to wait.

I'm sorry, but if a clown manages to HIT you with the bottle, theyve earned the exposed imo. Thise are harder than hatches to throw at a target.

No it wouldn't.
Telling people you can no longer play with your friends would severely damage, if not outright destroy the game. Most of those people would quit out of spite, and the ones that stayed would become bored of having to play alone ALL the time.
They need to balance around SWF at this point, buff killers to match, where necessary, and bridge the gap from solo and SWF AROUND that balance.

It appears that my comment has been taken out of context; just to clarify, the Store Picture thing is a reply to @Carpemortum s point, saying that stores can take your picture whenever they want, and to say that that was against European law for them to use it without good reason... I was not likening this to the point of my thread in any way.
Some very interesting points here and thank you @Xetoil , as this is exactly where I am coming from. I've been at a company that's gone down the drain due to GDPR implementation and this other thread and above has gotten me thinking how it relates to online gaming.
In USA.
Also I didnt say the store takes your picture. I'm saying if you went out to the store, or movies or whatever, and someone is taking a family photo, or doing a video recording for news, or personal records, etc, and you happen to be caught in it, you cant request them to ask consent unless it's something that's going to be aired on tv or the like. Then, the company itself will ask you for a release of your face, so that they avoid people trying to sue them for money later.
But a kid and their mom snapping a pic and you get caught in it? Nah.
Theres an expected level of loss of privacy when you leave your own home. That's my point.
How the law handles different levels of that privacy being disregarded, or where the laws are based in is almost irrelevant.

Also, we had "leaks" before that were wrong.
And again, hed still be a clone. A M1 that goes through walls. Well NEVER have complaints about that....looking at you, killer shack and every other lovable thing or building in game.
Lastly, if that IS the case, then we need xenomorph. That was another one they used "changing game mechanics and environments " prevented from happening.

No. Just 4% chance.

Theyve dealt with, and brought this case up multiple times. It was "dealt with" about a year ago, and then someone appealed. It's not gonna be fully settled for a long time. Even then, jason would do....what exactly? Trapper with freddy teleport?
They abandoned the breaking walls killer ages ago due to its limitations. I dont see it happening soon, or in a decent way for him to be in this game without either mechanical changes, or him being another clone.

That might be far the most skewed way to determines a games success I've ever heard of. I've bought this game with all of its DLC 4 or 5 times over now. I actually am sitting on 3 sets of this game with all of DLC right now. I give these keys to new friends, streamers to do giveaways, or friends of friends.
A stat like how many copies sold just tells you how many people bought the game? How many of those copies were bought as gifts that people never decided to start playing? how many of those copies were returned? Is that number based of just one system or them all? (Yes I know your 150k number is made up as I believe DBD hit 3 million copies sold a year or so back).
My point is you shouldn't judge a game on the number of copies sold, it needs to be based on how many people are playing over a time period. Yes I would be more concerned about the games state if I was seeing a decline in the number of players playing the game. But the stat's don't back that up, they actually counter it. The game actually has grown an average of 666.7 players a month.
Sure that is no Fortnite success, but its not actually a failing number either. I actually find it funny that the average player base increased by 666 players each month for the last 6 months.
Oof. 3 million sold and 20k players.
So for your "I bought multiple copies" theory, everyone would have had to buy 150 copies.
Or 2 and a half million copies were bought and never played....
Somewhere that doesnt add up. Even if everyone bought 5 copies. Those 2 mil and change others went somewhere.
Even with people buying 2, 3, 4 copies, it's a drastically lower number than it should be for a "thriving, growing game".
And yeah, I randomly chose 150k to give some leniency to what's happened, assuming maybe even 500k were sold. But 3 mil copies sold, it hurts.

you would slug the last two to pressure the last gen otherwise you are straight out of luck and they finish the last gen. i can tell you dont play killer that often because you would know how devastating it is to have every survivor on death hook and lose all your momentum because of one perk without a counter. if iwould have hooked one the guy on the ground would have gotten up and would have been healed by his teammate. and they would escape. great job. you just safety pipped.(not a win in my eyes or to even others)
The difference between adrenaline and NOED is that noed is fully in the hands of survivors, they can prevent it before it even happens. you cant even prevent adrenaline. "stop the generators from being repaired" thats like saying " dont get hooked and you wont get tunneled".
See, this is where I'm done debating with you. You assume you know what I do and dont play, because you play differently. I DO know what it's like to lose momentum, and ya know what? ######### HAPPENS. Ya know what else causes devastating momentum loss? Slugging two people, to look for a third, only to have him ignore the gen and save the other two, or have one of them with unbreakable.
There are too many variables for you to be able to say "tsk, I know you dont play killer, because you dont play how I do with my mindset and loadout".
Ntm your first paragraph ignored the part about the 5th gen still needing to be done for them to escape.
I also wasnt comparing NOED to adrenaline, just using hypotheticals to prove that it's too random to KNOW that you're right every time.
You just want to see what you see, draw conclusions, and prove me wrong with facts that are irrelevant in the conversation, ignoring other main points.
Also, not a tin in your eyes doesnt mean it's not to others. My win is having a fun time playing the game. ######### a 4k. Sorry you're hung up on pips for a rank system that doesnt actually exist or matter. 🤷♀️
I'm out, because your hypothetical situation keeps changing, and at this point you refuse to hear reason or logic, and have turned this into," nuh uh, YOU dont play killer, I'm better than you because XYZ."
Enjoy your day! I cant talk to brick walls anymore.

I mean just going off steam charts which doesn't even include GRDK users but also doesn't include xbox, PS4 or switch users, The game has averaged around 20k players with peaks between 30-40k average.
Yes there have been a few months where it dropped by 6 months ago it was an average of 19k average and a peak of 28k. In December it was 23k average and 38k peak. Within the last 30 days alone its 24k average and 44.5k peak.
Now just compare this to Death Gardens Highest point being 1k average players with 6k peak.
Basically you can't compare the two. All DBD has ever done is grown, Death Garden just never caught on. And to compare it to WoW which actually has a decrease in play base is a dishonor, since DBD actually grows in numbers currently. Yes, one day this game is going to fail, but I don't foresee that within the next year.
How many people BOUGHT dbd, and dont play it anymore. If there's 150k copies sold, and only 20k players, it says a lot.
It actually says that it's not growing, but remaining stagnat/losing people except when it's free.

It is not always the case but still happens quite often that I can't hear downed Survivors.
It is literally impossible to hit them if they do it correctly, I tested it in KYF and you can't even hit them with Bubba's Chainsaw swinging through the hook. Sure you can camp the two people but that's super boring for both sides and the other two can just do gens in the meantime.
Actually, it WAS one sentence. It wasnt two different things at all. Bye.

The thing I tested was taking all kind of different angles to attack from and the Survivor moving accordingly, or not at all even.
"It is literally impossible to hit them if they do it correctly, I tested it in KYF" and "and you can't even hit them with Bubba's Chainsaw swinging through the hook." are two different sentences reffering to different things.
That may be, but the way you worded and phrased it made it sound like, "we tested it in KYF. Even with bubba's chainsaw tou cant hit through". Which sounds like you even tried that. Also, why not just link the clip with your initial post?
The thing is, I've tested it too, and hit people doing it.
Also, the thing is, you ignored my last point. If they sit there and YOU CANT hit them, LET THE SURVIVOR ON HOOK DIE, AND YOU GET TWO FOR ONE.

Youre also forgetting that person will have a speed boost which will allow that survivor to make distance on the killer, then when they get hit they get another speed boost. and by the time you get to them their teammates are taking hits.
Also the devs have stated several times that the game isnt "over" when all gens are done. so you really didnt fail, especially if you are using an endgame build.
also what if you have 2 people slugged and youre going for the last guy on the last gen when suddenly he pops it and he gets a speed boost and the people on the ground get a health state and a speed boost?
So now you're assuming 2 people are using it now. And the speed boost is minimal. Its maybe a sprint burst equivalent. I didnt forget it, I ignored it.
And if you slug 2 people to go for the last, instead of hooking one of them first, is on you. Unless you are worried for the hatch, leaving 2 slugs isnt the smartest idea. Hook one, slug one, find one. The one on a gen will either get caught, try to save, therefore not finish the gen, or finish it, leaving you with a hook and ONE adrenaline use.
Let's go more hypothetical. What if the killer is using NOED? Speed is added and now the health state is irrelevant.
Or rancor? Bitter murmur? Now you know where they all are AND can insta down and mori one.

Yeah, stepping down from 150 mil a month from subs, to 65 isnt exactly going strong. It's still a shitload of money, but nowhere near what it used to be.
