Sorry I think its sickening to gatekeep and think that stating that someone "hasn't played enough" to "get" the ridiculous anger people are having over cosmetics they don't actually own being provided to everyone.
I'm sorry you're so upset by a mirror friend

HIm valuing what he earned is not wrong.
Him feeling like it has less value because someone else has it is not a healthy mindset. he should enjoy having it himself and not care if someone else has it, or how they got it. (So long as they earned it legitimately. And given gifted by the Devs is legitimate. Cheating would not be)
Its a good thing you're here to tell us what is healthy and what isn't.
Thanks for being our armchair psychologist!

They aren't worth anything, beyond what you attach to them.
In terms of expensiveness, if you're talking about what some of these things go for on eBay, it's out of control, and I absolutely don't think it's out of line for Behaviour to want to tamp down on that. At best, the secondhand market is preying on extremely artificial rarity, and at worst, people are getting scammed in ways that Behaviour can't control. If you're looking at this from a dollars-and-cents perspective, I think you are on the wrong side of it, because I think it is absolutely in Behaviour's interests to put a stop to it.
Value is subjective by definition. Your subjective definition is no more valid than theirs.

I mean, OK. That post was actually trying to give you some positive reinforcement and glass-half-full mindset advice, but how you respond to it is your choice. I thought we were just having a conversation, I'm not trying to attack you.
You're literally telling him to reevaluate himself because he values something he earned.
If you genuinely see this as you trying to be open to discussion and engage with his ideas then YOU need to reevaluate.

I love that people are trying to tell others their system for determining value is wrong. "If you care about cosmetics you suffer from a personality flaw"
I'm a nihilist, does that mean none of the things you care about matter because they dont matter to me? Of course not. Though to be fair most of you are children lol

Reworked Freddy. Insta-heal nerfs. MoM nerfs. Ghostface now (well...sans dedicated servers) compared to Ghostface on PTB. Spirit(!) PTB compared to live. BNP nerf. Wraith cube. Trapper cube. Pale Rose downsizing. D-strike change (though questionable TBH). Endgame collapse (moreso a QoL change). Badham Rework (still don't like the map TBH). Upcoming Doctor changes. Infinites being made less infinite (still needs work). PGTW buff. STBFL buff.
Are we to simply ignore all of these changes (and more) that have been made over the game's life cycle? Or are we to continue to pretend that the devs are acting in bad faith?
E: simply to - to simply
Trapper and wraith cubes were a joke. Now they are even more addon reliant lol
Them buffing a killer prerelease hardly counts as a buff.

Killers are meant to be different. Whether that's related to their power, their vault, or their run speed.
By the logic you're using all killers should run the same speed as well.
This is the direction the game is moving in. They nerfed ew1 mike for the sake of simplicity

Who’s to say they’re not though.
They cant throw nerfs and buffs out all at once.
Its weird that the nerfs come swiftly, while reworks take years.
Remember the wraith cube? I do. Garbage. Freddy is the first decent rework and it took literally years.
oh i guess hag is better now.

If we're gonna complain about nerfs over the last year, I can open up a can of "survivors have received two-three times more nerfs in the past year than killers".
But that's a different argument for a different day XD
I do think a few killers could use some buffs, but they're all playable and I have fun (and get 3ks and 4ks) playing with the killers people consider trash (Trapper, Wraith, Bubba)
This response misses the point so hard i don't know what to say lol

That's how you run a wonky software development studio these days.
Make big promises and cheat your way through it. It's an expensive business and without shareholders you're nobody except your name is markus persson and you win the lottery.
Absolutely. I guarantee they were stoked to show their investors their projected profits from 2 new platforms, and a new battlepass sysyem. Not to mention spending so much on engine updates and servers.
As long as people keep playing and they can keep bluffing shareholders they can keep going without actually delivering.
-
I think its more that we've had 3 killers "changed" in the last year, and 1 rework that took years.
They're hauling ass to tone down the top killers and then doing ######### all for low tier buds.
Even further they seem to be tuning them to be easier to play against at the expense of their diversity.
-
I love that if people were being this ######### in opposition to bhvr there'd be some action taken.
But since they're carrying water for the devs we have pages and pages of bullying lol
-
@SpacingLlamas said:

They're not lying, they genuinely believe they can do it.
They just way overestimate their abities as a development team. See also those servers lol when does fall 2019 end again?
-
Are console players getting the death garden exclusives?
Or is this no more exclusives stuff just more talk?
-
"Only the grind i think matters matters!"

Because they're nerfing killers with uniqueness to make things more consistent for stupid people.
Having to remember that killers are different and adjust accordingly is too hard. I can't wait until all killers are simple m1 killers and we can really have fun.

For once they aren't trying to monetize things, they are giving them away for free.
Only because they are moving away from earned event cosmetics to make the battlepass more integral. This is a symptom of greed, not charity.
I don't buy any of this black market bs for an instant.
-
@fcc2014 said:
Where was all the outrage last year when they announced Hallowed Blight and Howling Grounds event cosmetics could be purchased? Only a few of us objected to that last year.
How no one could see something like this coming is obtuse.
I'm more disappointed that "events" won't be anything special moving forward to break up the monotony but it is whatever. I can move on and play something else if it bothers me that much.
Was just as outraged then padre. That that has become the new norm is upsetting, but them taking away the exclusiveness retoroactively is pretty weak sauce
But you're right we've known that this was coming. If they don't have a way to monetize it they don't want any part of it.

I'm not doing that, what i'm saying is that you should listen to the people like you and I that have skill at the game and have taken the time to learn the killer properly and can play them effectively. Devs should not listen to people in the regards of balance that have not taken much of a chance to learn the killer or play them incorrectly so they feel the killer is weak because of it.
Guess what? I thought demogorgon was weak and his powers were meh when i first played him. I thought his portals got taken down too quickly to be useful, i thought his shred was wonky and not very useful in most scenario's and I thought he had a hard time closing distance. But as I stuck with him and learned him I increased in skill, learned him better, and optimized my gameplay and perk loadouts to see his true potential and realized this isn't some ez mode killer like spirit that anyone with a headset can get good at. This is a killer that takes skill and I don't want crybabies that can't take the time to git gud with him to convince the devs to buff and then eventually nerf him because they made him TOO strong with little counterplay... aka. spirit. His portals and shred can be very useful when used CORRECTLY, but they have a good amount of counterplay so the survivors don't feel powerless against them. This is very important in a killer's design and i commend the devs that they went out of there way to make sure demogorgon was balanced as well powerful.
Dude you're coming in hot lol

Not everyone is going to agree with you.
I have played the game since beta and have a lot of "exclusives."
It doesn't hurt my feelings. I earned all the event skins as well, and again I don't care if they give them away.
Telling people to "leave you alone" so you can have your safe space reminds me of a South Park episode.
He's not asking your point, he's conceding that point.

Oh, you mean you don't want people to know the change only lasted a whopping 4 days and doesn't fit the narrative you're trying to push that this task was somehow hard?
Sorry bud.
Consoles had a memory leak for the entire event, causing crashes every other game. Literally. You're underselling how broken the game was during that time.
The one thing i looked forward to in this game were events and unlocking cool event skins. This is a pretty big slap in the face after nerfing michael last patch needlessly guys.

If you really want to master your nurse then play custom game and use the add on that allows you to see tour blinks. It is very helpful because it helps you know how to use your blink power correctly and position yourself to a place where a surivior cant dodge or juke your hit. Another thing is being patient and not be frustrated when you miss your hits because using her you must be calm. Finally, you must accept loses in lots of games using her because it allows you to know what a surivior can do against her for you to counter it. It also gives you experience to knowing how to use your blink power at the right time and e.t.c.
That's why Nurse is the best killer because it takes skill with the outcome and wins (almost every game no matter what).
So are you just not reading what he's saying?

No triggering, you just don't seem interested in actually engaging and instead want to make assumptions about me based on the fact that I watch a popular streamer sometime, while saying "Just use your head brah" to justify your napkin math. I'm sorry this upsets you so much. And how does this relate to essential oils? How do you feel that this rift pass is tricking people exactly?
You said that some people valued the pass despite how much it's stacked against them. I pointed out that value is subjective and something that serves no function brings in billions a year.
They outright lied about the completion requirements, they've obfuscated the later tomes deliberately and keep dropping "maybe it'll change" teases to string suckers like you along, they created artificial scarcity by filling in "exclusive" cosmetics that you'll more than likely have to spend MORE money to get, and they gutted the biggest event of the year to further shoe horn this battlepass into our faces. Oh, and i bought this game, and all but 1 dlc pack. This isn't a f2p game, adding a battlepass on top of that is greed incarnate.
There are literally books written about these types of practices. This isn't a conspiracy theory this is pretty basic psychology. But something has to keep DG going i guess.

You seem to have issues with this game and have extreme expectations. I'm sorry that hearing a point of view that isn't in line with yours causes you so much distress.
What are you talking about? What extreme expectations? That anything players request shouldn't be saddled to monetization efforts?

You could use your own head instead of listening to streamers. Tru3 also thought billy was the worst at release.
Compared to old nurse: You blink close to the suirvivor, but miss. Old Nurse was easily within range for her next blink. New nurse walks 3s and loses half a metre, is she still in range? Come on dude
Dude this is an unreal level of dissonance and I'm genuinely impressed.
Good luck in the fog and i hope you have a great day.
-
@Lost_in_the_Fog said:
Their not tricking anyone into buing anything. This isn't fanboying I'm actually just trying to give people a more neutral perspective. I'm saying let's wait and see, not that the rift is the best thing ever.
Yes you're saying lets wait and see if they throw out everything they've shown us and revamp it from the ground up. Months of work and something people have already purchased.
If that doesn't sound like pie eye in the sky dreaming i don't know what does. Blind optimism isn't neutral.
Predatory business practices don't require cloak and dagger. Everyone knows the house always wins, but casinos aren't shutting down.
-
@Lost_in_the_Fog said:
I would also like to say, and it may be hard to believe, there are a lot of people who see value in the rift due to the amount of cosmetics they can get for the price. A lot of us know we won't complete the entire rift and are completely ok with it.
Value is subjective by definition. Essential oils are a billion dollar a year industry, but its still snake oil shilled to gullible idiots.
-
@Lost_in_the_Fog said:

Back to my first post. We don't know what the rest of the tomes will be like. You are getting challenges. It sounds like just not the type of challenges you had in mind. Maybe you should leave feedback on the Feedback & Suggestions page and suggest ones you'd like to see. This is only the first rift. I'm sure we will see numerous iterations.
I also disagree that this rift is predatory and it's becoming tiresome seeing people mislabel this. Ok, maybe it looks similar to shady ######### other games have done. But it allows you to see how far you progress before spending any money. It's not predatory. This isn't loot boxes that you have no idea what's inside.
So it's either 100% highway robbery or it's fine? Nice false dichotomy. Also they clearly are so great about listening to feedback, I'm sure they're going to finally start now.
You're welcome to shut your eyes to what's going on and blindly hope that literally years of past experiences won't repeat themselves but I'm going to keep calling this ######### out when i see it.
Also, why would they change anything if we aren't telling them how how we feel?
These threads are just fanboyism made manifest.
-

Back to my original post, parts of your argument might prove to be untrue. We don't know what the other tomes hold? The rift shards earned for completing challenges might increase. The devs might do a double rift shard weekend similar to bloodhunts. We don't know which is why I'm saying maybe we should wait and see.
So what you're saying is they might toss out everything to respond to player feedback?
Do you get headaches with your head in the sand?
