And honestly on the subject of DS.. hopping in a locker or doing a gen in the killers face is silly.. interacting with a gen or locker should disable DS. Simple.
Ok but what if you are getting tunneled with a mori? Locker DS is the only way of countering a mori, to an extent.

Decisive Strike is now an exhaustion perk. Meaning using it causes you to be exhausted for 60/50/40 seconds. You also can no longer use it while exhausted. This would counter its synergy with exhaustion perks and make it much more fair in my opinion. What you all think ?
I dont think that would be a good idea.
For one, if the killer camps you and you do get saved, you will just get slugged and have no way of gaining distance from the killer.
Exhaustion perks are not what makes DS Strong.
-
People are acting like survivor mains are coding the game, like we put bugs in there to abuse lmao.
Anyways there was a time where DS only lasted 3 seconds (shorter if you had enduring). Now that the perk is an attempt to be an anti tunnel, how is a 3 second stun gonna deter a killer now. All the people who want this bug to be a feature want to tunnel someone without being punished.
I understand gettin hit with DS when you didnt really tunnel is bs. But the fact that you guys wanna tunnel because you arent punished as harshly shows why DS is in the game.

You play enough killer to have a full perk loadout with two tier 3 teachables from different killers. This story doesn't check out.
Also if you think that chat was someone being terrible you have really thin skin.
Ever heard of the shrine?
And besides, I never said i never played killer, i never played consistently, I mainly play survivor. Have you never poured points into a character you've never played?
And yes, you are terrible if you had to take time out of your day to attempt to make someone feel bad when they probably already know they played bad, I was over the situation within minutes.

by the looks of the scores you played terribly, sad thing about this game is when the killer plays bad it punishes the survs, no saves, no heals, not enough chases = depip
how did you do so badly with the strongest, easiest killer tho lol
cause I don't play killer like at all, I'm a newbie killer I mainly play survivor. I dont have the fundamentals down yet.

I swear to God DBD players are the most sensitive gamers in existence. Nothing about what they said makes them a terrible person. They said playing against you sucked, which it probably did. Can we save the word "terrible" for people that actually do terrible things and not people that get annoyed in a video game.
and telling people to end their life over a video game is not terrible, cause prior to this a swf told me to kms. But you're right, they're just annoyed and are completely justified in their actions.

After all gens are powered, decisive strike gets deactivated.
A band-aid fix, that would make ds more fair.
Just get rid of DS when you can afford it, get rid of it early.
The longer you leave DS in the game the more use survivors get out of it.

I'm in favor of surrender options if done correctly rather than in a way that would screw over other players. I'd say the game needs to have gone on for at least 5 minutes to force at least some effort. If the survivors are surrendering, it needs to be unanimous amongst all the survivors who are currently left. The side that isn't surrendering gets all their addons and offerings back, and they get max bloodpoints for each category to ensure they don't miss out on any bloodpoints they could have gotten. And the surrendering team doesn't get any bloodpoints for failing to finish the match.
I think they should still get bp, if they dont grt the bp that they earned, then why ask for evertone's approval to give up when you can just dc?
-
@Katie_met said:
Haha imagine how many SWFs would use the team surrender feature. If the killer is slugging then I just check my social media or listen to music and just wait. Being slugged isn't exactly fun, but the bleed out timer is only 4 minutes.
Not all swfs are death squads, and 4 minutes is a looong time. I just want a surrender feature to avoid situations where someone bleeds out on the ground, the game is over so just end it 🤷🏿♂️
-
@Alphasoul05 said:
People would just use it to surrender whenever things aren't going their way, they get a killer they dislike, a map they dislike, or they're just against a good killer. Too many ways to abuse something like that, and games/bleed out isn't really long enough to justify any sort of benefit over the abuses that come from it.
Thats why it should only activate when all survivors are incapacitated, I said this already. Lol

The timer is needed so it can't be abused at the start of the game. We don't know the average length of a match, but I would go with 5 - 7 Minutes.
I would wanna see the animation for that lol. But I like the timer Idea, that way killers cant just insta surrender on a bad map.

I have been playing the game for a few months now and have moved on from Survivor main to Killer. I try to play fair; no blatant hook camping, no tunneling one by one to ensure a 4k, etc... however if I run into a survivor who just got unhooked am I just supposed to let them go? If I do (like I have been) I rarely get a 4k and am having trouble popping, and if I down them then the survivors blow up my DM with "tunneler". What is the right balance of tunneling to make the game fair and not give the game away just to be nice?
Tbh slugging the unhooked person is ya best option, it's the worst when your rescuer decides to stealth and not take aggro.
However if you are in endgame where like they only need 1 gen left or something, then everything goes at that point.

Why is the killer punished when someone aggressively unhooks someone right in front of them and he Downs them. I'm not talking about Downing the person that was just unhooked I'm talking about downing the unhooker this is stupid and it's a total crutch perk that needs to be fixed.
The perk is meant to be an anti tunneling perk not a get-out-of-jail-free perk.
While yes I do see your point, I cant help to think about if someone is being camped.
A lot of bubbas and ghostface players camp so i use my DS to hook bomb and get the unhook, I dont like wasting my DS but sometimes the situation calls for it.

Honestly it's just the way it is, ttv is usually rewarded with extended games where I try to make it a scary intense game without using meta gameplay but swf….you get hooked once and I proxy camp, sure I wont pip but it beats depipping, thankfully BHVR has been really generous with red moris , I get bullied enough by high rank survivors so having this crutch, while it may be a crutch, is a much needed bandaid to lack of diverse ranks. Watching twitch streamers you'll see the excellent communication where the killer's location is always known so there's no point and trying to play by any honor system because you're already fated to be completely wrecked.
not every swf is a deathsquad you know. Some swf squads play to ya know, have fun?
I use to play swf with my friends before they quit the game, we use to run meme builds for fun, we werent too concerned about winning. Just because it's a swf does not mean they are out to make your life hard dude.

For me, the answer is absolutely yes. The amount of information this perk gives you is insane.
Hear the lullaby of Huntress? You'll always know if she's headed towards you.
Wraith, Pig, or Ghostface sneaking up on you? You'll know the moment they start closing in.
Not sure if a Spirit is phasing? Simply look for the perk lighting up to tell where she's looking.
It's basically 2 perks for one. Providing knowledge for both in, and out of chase. Premonition, an otherwise decent perk, is completely outclassed by Spine Chill.
My suggestion is to make Spine Chill only active when inside of a killer's terror radius. Make it only give knowledge inside of a chase and so that perks like Premonition have a chance to be picked.
please no.....Survivors dont really have many perks that are strong, spine chill is really niche anyways. If you have ears and self awareness you dont need the perk, this perk is fine, the perk does not need to be gutted.

This game is not like "losing the killer". The all objective is now looping and take time of the killer. Which year are you? Who tries to lose killer at this times? C'mon!
Billy can curve loop
nurse can blink through loops
Trapper can trap loops
Spirit can go invisible and hit you around loops
huntress can hit over loops
Pyramid Head can hit you through loops
Do you see what I'm getting at? Killers have unique ways of dealing with loops
and what can survivors do? Just run around a loop and hope for the best.
Until the devs can figure out a way for survivors to mix up chases, dont complain about looping, once you are found loop to buy your team time before you go down or waste enough time.
-
@nightingale said:
That's right everywhere are loops. In the past survivors was like ohhh here comes the killer I must hide and now everyone is like HoW mAnY tImEs CaN i LoOp ThE kIlLeR bEfOrE hE DC?
Rework the maps and make survivors everytime they hear the terror radious to shake. I am tired of swf.
PS: Crotus Asylum is a pain
do you realize how hard it is to lose a decent killer?
And Besides, which one do you want? Do you want 4 blendettes that you cant find? or would you rather actually have interactions with the survivors?
Doctor counters hiding, and loops
Nurse, huntress, trapper, deathslinger, demogorgon, and billy can shut down loops as well.
At this point take away all of our perks, remove all the pallets, remove windows, give killers infinite bloodlust 3. We really aint allowed to defend ourselves at this point.

@SansUndertale said:
It's a cheap "get out of jail" card that punishes killer for doing their job. Survivors that use this only have it because they can't properly avoid the killer.
And people say it's to combat tunneling, but tunneling is a myth, as it's just a legit strategy since it's always better to go after the hooked survivor since they're injured. gen rushing is what dbd should combat.
you say that now, but play 100 matches of survivor when the killer camps you because you 360'd them and watch him tunnel the hell out of you and ignore everyone else in the trial and you end up dying with 8k Bp or under.
Removing DS would only promote tunneling and promote more genrushing, why you might ask? If you know that there are no survivor perks to protect them from an anti-fun strat, would you tunnel them? Of course you would, but because DS exists killers dont do it because DS breaks momentum and punishes you for being a jerk.
tunneling in the endgame is completely fine, but dont be that guy who tunnels and camps at 5 gens and then complains about gen rushing.
-
The reason why survivors have hatch and second chances are because they're the survivors, their mistakes carry more weight than the killer.
And you are also forgetting that the survivors are playing a whole different game than you. They have to play as a team while you can play by your own rules. Sometimes when I play killer, I'll encounter a really good survivor who could loop me for days, but their teammates werent as experienced so chases ended quickly with them, survivors like that deserve to have a shot at escaping after a clown fiesta like that. Their teammates played bad and now they dont get to escape even though their own wit and skill got them that far.
I swear, complaints on this game are gonna get so out of control that the devs will start implementing them. I recently saw a thread about nerfing vault speed build, you wanna nerf a 2 perk slot chase combo for what? These complaints seem to come from a handful of killer mains, most killers don't even have issues with these things it's just y'all lol.
escapes arent guaranteed, and neither are 4ks, that's just the game.

The thing is you're generalizing and making a lot of assumptions. For one you have to assume the person is a main on one side. That's not always the case.
Then your assuming what you think they believe and then generalizing it across all killers. It's like some1 saying survivors want all killers to be nerfed and believe all killers are op because if you go through the forums you'll find a bunch of examples about every killer being too strong/op. It's not a fair argument.
i think it's pretty even in terms of toxicity in the forums. Not all discussions have a 50/50 split. Some have more on one side others have more on the other side. Others just have 1 person on one side arguing with 3 others but that 1 person has like 29 upvotes, while the 3 others have 1 or 2 upvotes.
The thing about who has the power to run games for others... You can just as easily argue that a survivor has just as much power to ruin the game for the killer or everyone else. They can DC/suicide on hook. Follow the killer wanting to die. They can make tons of annoying noises. Constant head ons just for fun (okay I'm guilty of this). Stealth and not do anything at all, especially if it prolongs the match. Not leave when the gates are open prolonging a game you've already won. Sandbag teamates. Attract killers to teammates. Over using bodyblock strat against the killer (I think it's a valid Strat but I also understand from the killer pov why it could feel bad).
Finally, what ppl view as toxic isn't going to always be the same. For example, I don't find a killer hitting a survivor on the hook as toxic. I actually see most newer players do it (in YouTube videos) cuz it roleplays as killer in their heads. Some don't do it to spread toxicity. I don't find teabagging that toxic either but I do find clicking the flash light toxic cuz it's annoying to hear over long periods of time.
At the end of the day, it doesn't really matter. It's your ideas and other ppl shooting it down dont make a difference. If you think that the forums are mostly killer bias and nothing I've said changed your mind then you do you.
My advice would be to take all criticism to improve your ideas and/or understand a bit about other people's point of views. You could also have a bad idea or your wrong. I think in this case you have valid points. I just disagree with your conclusion. Nobody is correct all the time. Acknowledge the completely useless stuff in your head to build thicker skin but don't bother with it too much. If things get too much then you could take a break or leave that discussion.
bodyblocking is trading a health state for some wiggle progress, stealthing is boring as heck for both sides, notification spamming is annoying yes but it doesn't necessarily correlate to the killer not having fun, Head on is fine lol.
Killers however can take you out the game and make sure you stay out of the game till you actually get sacrificed because you ran them on a jungle gym.
Like I said in my OP, I'm not intending to generalize killers, cause I've met some really nice killer mains in my games before, but I'm talking about the ones who have no regard for what any survivor has to say.
As a survivor I don't feel inclined to bring items because of my fear of inciting the wrath of the killer, only for him/her to make my life as miserable as possible till i die on first hook. I dont wanna bring styptics for tunneling scenarios, I 'm afraid of using BNP along with my toolboxes because gen rush = no fun 4 me, god forbid I bring a flashlight and use it to save my teammates, and finally a key but I rarely ever find hatch so I don't care.
And I'm not saying that all of my ideas and all survivor ideas are objectively correct, just asking for survivor ideas to be considered as well. I was in a discussion with a killer who wanted hatch to be removed because he feels as tho he needs to 4k every game, I disagreed but I understood how frustrating it was and we had a tame and civil discussion. The same cannot be said if it's a survivor thread.
As far as thicker skin goes, I'm way ahead of you on that one. Usually killers who want to behave like jerks in my games then say "gg ez" at the end, are killers that probably get decimated last game and they're taking their frustration out on me, so it doesn't bother me as much as it did when I first started playing.

I think most are missing the point. I play both sides, but killer more often as I appreciate the challenge. I can’t say I play survivor because of the challenge, because for awhile now it has not been a challenge. We’re not trying to be biased because we play killer more, as was your assumption. We look at the game in its entirety as a whole and NOT just one side or another.
Most ideas supported DO in fact favor killers. Why? The great attempt to achieve balance in the game. It’s no secret that the unbalance of this lovely game heavily favors the survivor side, that doesn’t mean we’re against all survivor idea suggestions. However, if the idea is to buff a survivor perk, or in-game survivor action, most of us will still vote no on it, because to achieve balance you can NOT buff the things in a competitive team game that are already stronger than the other side.
Common theme: We want any and all changes to the game to support balance, rather than putting more weight on the side that’s already twice as heavy.
But just because a side is stronger doesn't mean people should shut you down for ideas for said side.
For the sake of argument, let's say killers are objectively OP, they win most of the games, their perks and powers are op, etc.
Now you are picking up a survivor and can't help notice that it took you 15 seconds to pick up one survivor, that's way too long and an get boring to do, so you go on the forums and suggest the animation to get sped up.
Before you know it a whole bunch of survivor mains will respond to your idea with some snarky things to say
"git gud"
"killers cry about everything"
"killers are op and yet you still want more"
the list goes on.
What I'm trying to get at here is that some ideas that come from survivors aren't really game breaking but rather just Quality of Life adjustments, or just making certain perks or mechanics better and worth using. But because killers (not all killers ofc <3) see survivors as the "oppressors" they dismiss any idea that comes out of your mouth because you "have it good" already, and I don't find that fair.

Ive noticed the same thing. I came on to the forums hoping to make a difference for the solo survivors and ive made a few posts in accordance to that. All of them ended quickly with many many killer mains shoving it back down my throat.
I play both sides equally so I have also thrown encouraging suggestions to killers having struggles or commenting on difficulties in the killer side. Not one bad comment back. Killer mains seem to be killer mains because their personality matches the role. "I'm the power role and so i get the say."
This fact is sad to see as the survivors come on the forums to be shamed.
Ultimately, yes your post is useless and my comment is useless. Just keep gaming and hope you get lucky.
I'm gonna sound like a Karen for saying this but here it goes.
You ever browse dbd reddit and see all the memes that killer mains make about survivors, the comments are filled with killers trash-talking or leaving sarcastic comments about killers. This is completely fine, unless you are a survivor that makes a meme about killers.
I saw this post that said "Noed is a pity kill from the Entity. They hated Jesus because he told the truth". The comment section were flipping the joke on survivor perks
"Adrenaline is a pity health state from the entity" despite them both being endgame perks, and adrenaline rewards you for completing gens.
"DS is a pity escape even though it's not used as an anti-tunnel"
etc.
It was just a harmless joke and you can feel the spite out of those killers' comments because of how offended they got with the meme, it quite frankly made the OP's meme even better cause of it. It seems like only a handful of killers on reddit are actually open-minded human beings who consider what you say, even if you both have different POVs
-
I mean it's frowned upon, but most people say it's fine cause they play killer and arent on the recieving end of it.
I cant really force you to play, but I just discourage it if it's before endgame.
-
Killers usually do it because either the survivor was being rude or because the survivor was being good at the game.
In my experience I've been camped because they chose to throw away 5 gens to chase me, then they bm me on the hook.
It's incredible how much sand you can put into an emotional killer's undies.
-
Just keep better track of who you hooked, and eat DS when you can afford it. Stop letting the perk exist into endgame, and stop respecting it when you can afford it.

Survivors just need more ways to earn bps in general.
Like for example, +1k Obj points for being chased while a gen pops. +1.5k Altruism for being chased while a fellow survivor rescues a hooked survivor. +2.5k Survival for being hooked twice in a row.
Stuff like this would be nice because Survivors can't max out all their categorys at the same time unlike Killers.
Also, ignore that elvangulley guy. I'm pretty sure hes just trolling you at this point.
Totally! I think someone on the forums was talking about adding more scoring events, like making the killer whiff, or vaulting a window and the killer narrowly misses, etc.

Category Caps need to be removed with keeping the overall Cap. Someone who would get tunneled all game would then have more BPs than now, because once they are capped, there is nothing to gain at this point. Killers on the other hand are filling Categories all at once, so they surely will get more BPs when they are tunneling one person.
With the removal of Category Caps players would get something even if they are doing the same action the whole match. And if a Survivor gets tunneled the whole game and ends up with 20k Boldness Points it feels way more rewarding than 8k Points.
Agreed, maybe only then will the emblem system will actually reward survivors who take the killer on a run. I like this idea 👍

You need three hooks to break one pallet
i suppose, but it would just be an indirect nerf to the shack cause any killer would break the shack pallet.
that's assuming if the perk could only be used once. Also with the pallet desert update it means survivors' resources would get burnt through even faster as the game progresses.
Idk maybe I'm just being over-analytical :P

Undying Rage- Chapter, Friday the 13th
Killer: Jason Voorhees
You become obsessed with one survivor. After hooking your obsession, you gain a token. Once any survivor rescues your obsession, they will become your new obsession. At 3 tokens, you can break any undropped pallet you choose.
Charisma- Chapter, Uncharted
Survivor: Nathan Drake
All survivors within 15 meters of you, will gain bonus bloodpoints on ALL actions completed either with or near you. You will share in their BP as well.
wouldnt that be kinda busted cause you could just break all the safe pallets?
-
WHAT ELSE CAN YOU DO WHEN BEING CHASED FOREVER? Like am I suppose to just teleport to a generator?
You're a killer main so obviously you wouldn't know because you can still get points in other areas even if you suck at catching the survivor you're chasing. I really dont understand how you are so against getting BP for buying your team the game, If I ran you for 5 gens, I deserve more BP than 8k.
I love how you say "your kind" as if this is some racial war, goes to show you constantly look down on people, great display of your character as a person.
The only people who should be getting mad at this post are people who tunnel for 5 gens and think they deserve to control someone else's BP for their own sh*tty playstyle, so it's obvious why I struck a nerve with you.
I'm done arguing with you, I didn't go on the forums to talk about a system that doesn't fairly reward players for playing good and then argue with someone who just flames people with nothing of substance, you watch way too many of Tru3's "Toxic SWF" series and believe that anytime a survivor has something to say about killers, you think it's immediately whining. The emblem system is clearly a problem for both survivors and killers and you want it to remain the same so you can keep f*cking over other people's BP because of YOUR CONSISTENT MISTAKES.
For christ's sake there is a whole thread on here from a guy who thinks hatch needs to be removed because he feels entitled to 4k everytime, not a single reply to that post said he was whining, but when I make a post about a genuine issue it's whining.
this argument with you is going absolutely nowhere, I want to discuss this with open-minded people, not douchebags.

Survivors are a team, not a single person. So sometimes, you take one for the team. The killer still throws the match, sure you get to temper your evasion skills, but at least your team gets to escape.
Also keep in mind that everyone finds themselves in this position, so you can't just focus on the times you've been tunneled. I'm sure there have been games where you've been left alone, all while someone else was chased the whole time. A good team in my mind wouldn't let the killer tunnel one person the whole game, because in a way, that's the survivors killing their friend. On the other hand, if you have a killer tunneling you even though other survivors are trying to get their attention, you've done something to earn that attention.
Why is it always my fault though?
I don't teabag
I don't flashlight click
I don't abuse glitches
but somehow I deserved to get tunneled for centuries, and then get a mediocre amount of BP out of it? Either what your saying makes no sense or I'm just not understanding you.

Try losing the killer and do other stuff if yout boldness is maxed that easily. Should be essy for someone capable of running a killer for 5 fens.
I guess killers should get bp for getting stunned or letting survivors escape, huh?
Why'd you call out "tunneling" if this is a generic " gimme bp for failing"-thread?
Gimme bp for failing thread? Ok so let's completely ignore the killer who is continuously failing chase?
And since you wanna bring up bp for the killer messing up, when did i say i should get Bp for being hit or being hooked? Exactly I never did, stop using situations that dont compare to the one I'm talking about.
also breaking LOS is easier said then done, all you need is ears and you can find them again. Doesn't matter if you have Iron Will either, any killer with a brain can deduce the survivor is still nearby if they come to a dead end of scratch marks.
I guess survivors who get chased all game and dont get to do anything else should get 0 BP while the killer gets 64k BP for constantly failing chase, wasting their own time, and throwing the game. But it's never the killer's fault right? Blame the survivor for not getting a safe opportunity to hide every second of the chase.

DS isn't a good play. Its barely even a play. It activates for free after you are hooked, and then you just have to make an easy skill check and then you have 5 seconds to get to safety, which most likely will be that close for a survivor. Enduring should work against it.
No it shouldn't. DS should be respected at certain times, and if you know a survivor has DS ask yourself "Can I afford this stun right now?" and play accordingly. Making Enduring work against DS will make the perk useless and if will ruin its anti-tunnel function.
If you can't remember who you hooked in the past 60 seconds that's on the killer, not the survivor.

I think survivors should get more rewarded for being able to hold the killer a lot of time and carry the match even if that results in 0 points in the rest of categories
And a nice reward would be to not get capped at 8k and depip.

Mmm ok. Typical. Abandoning the discussion when your argument is shown to be weak. Dont blame you honestly. Have a good rest of your night.
PS: you were the one who brought up DS in the first place.
She dropped it cause this isn't a DS thread lol. Let's all just relax and talk about the topic at hand.

If a killer is tunneling or face camping, they were probably up against toxic swf last game. I know I'd still be pissed.
killers who do that need to stop playing and take a break, never understood why they think it's ok to take out their frustrations on players that had nothing to do with their last match.
Regardless, I shouldnt be leaving with a few BP cause the killer wants me to be his/her lover.

If you get tunneled the whole match and that doesn't suppose an instant win for the other 3 survs then you need to get better
???
How would me constantly winning chase be equivalent to me being bad and needing to get better? Solo q is hell when you get tunneled cause gens get done slow and you running around won't be worth.
I honestly did expect so many people to be against the idea that survivors shouldn't be cheated out of points because of something they couldn't control.

Alright I think we're straying off topic here, It's not a perk argument thread, you both make good points but let's talk about the BP cap and how awful it is to be rewarded so little for putting in so much work. ^~^
