That's a perk called "Flip-Flop" and it comes with Ash.
And when paired with Power Struggle, it makes picking up a survivor at a pallet impossible, so best to leave them slugged. Combine with killers occasionally having to check the area to make sure no survivors are around to attempt a save, making Flip-Flop basekit could cause more problems that would encourage even more slugging.
-
Every time I have perks that benefit me for healing other survivors, everyone insists on healing me first. Unless I'm running Lucky Break, then I want to be healed first so I can recharge it after, but then they refuse.

As a veteran I just cant stand them at all and i would really appreciate it if I could just turn them of in the settings. So everyone could make their own choice by doing so. Why was this never considered at all?
I'm fine with licensed survivors having voicelines because these are recognizable characters with voices, but the original survivors having voices has felt weird to me. I agree there should be a "disable voices" option, for both in-lobby and in-trial.

I have never once seen a person ask for Lara Croft to be added to this game. What would be the point? People will play her, but with a list miles long of iconic horror franchises that could come to this game I feel like Tomb Raider wouldn't even be part of that conversation.
I'm still waiting on Frank West from Dead Rising, especially now that Dead Rising 1 is getting a remake. I'll also take Rick Grimes from The Walking Dead, and Dale Cooper from Twin Peaks, and RJ MacReady from The Thing. I'll even take someone from House of the Dead, like Agent G. The list goes on and on and on.
You know what would be a dream? Ben, from the original The Night of the Living Dead.

there have been plenty of people in this community asking for Lara Croft to be added though?
Definitely way more than people were asking for Nicolas Cage and also for a pretty long time already..
I haven't seen a single person ask for Lara Croft until this month.

Lmao that's dramatic. I was literally just making the point that it's ill-founded to suggest Lara doesn't fit in the game compared to additions we already have. Mostly because I think trying to gatekeep what counts as horror and belongs in DBD only hurts the community. I didn't see this kinda push back when we got rainbow six siege even which makes this especially bizarre.
For what it is worth, I thought the R6 tie-in was very dumb, and I would take Lara Croft over that any day. I'd take her over the DnD elf too.

I did make an argument, you're the one cherry picking what's valid from evil dead to acknowledge and what's valid from tomb raider to acknowledge.
The version of Ash we have is from a show that's more comedy before horror, the version of Lara we're getting is from a game that while not strictly horror literally took inspiration from a horror movie. It's silly to ignore both these facts and say Ash is fine but Lara isn't.
And I said I prefer horror movie Ash and I would swap TV Ash for him, and I said horror Lara still isn't horror enough for my tastes. I don't even know what you're arguing, other than trying to vilify people for their opinions on horror.
I wasn't even talking to you to begin with, I was just saying I prefer ordinary joe schmoes as my horror characters, and you butted in to complain about it. This is a waste of time.
-
I don't think she does, but she fits better than that dumb elf, I'll give her that much.
-
They added Rainbow Six Siege skins. The only thing horror about that game is its community.

This is hilarious to me when the TV show version is literally the version we got. Meanwhile we're getting the 2013 version of Lara which is the most horror tomb raider ever was. So most horror version of Lara bad but least horror version of Ash good tells me how absolutely arbitrary these complaints about Lara's inclusion in DBD really are and it's literally just gatekeeping for gatekeeping's sake.
So most horror version of Lara bad but least horror version of Ash good
I said I didn't care about the TV show version of Ash and preferred the original movie depictions. If it was up to me, I would have put in his Evil Dead 2 depiction 1:1. Don't put words in my mouth, and stop throwing around buzzwords you don't understand the meaning of. Make a real argument.
And I don't care about the Tomb Raider remakes either. I never liked the idea of taking the cool and confident OG Lara Croft and turning her into a scared little girl. I guess it fits choosing that version for DbD instead, but I still don't care for it.

By this logic was Ash a bad inclusion? By the time we get to the TV show the deadites felt more like annoyances to Ash than actual threats.
I don't care about the TV show. In Evil Dead 1 and 2, he is an ordinary everyman trapped in overwhelming danger. Even in Army of Darkness (which is barely a horror movie anyway), he's still a pretty regular guy who just happens to be thrust into a heroic position out of necessity, but nothing he does is all that special. And those are his most popular depictions.

It's not reportable. Move on instead of dwelling on it.

True. Alot of the survivors are just average folk dropped into a horror setting.
That's what makes them good. I like average folk, horror characters should be vulnerable underdogs or else there's no tension, that's basic storytelling.
-
If I was to rework Legion, I'd make them function like an actual legion. All four Legion members would be on the map, with the player as one and the other three as wandering NPCs, like Nemesis's zombies. Each Legion NPC would have a vision cone like zombies do, and if they spot a survivor, they'd follow them at a somewhat quick pace (a little below a survivor's sprint speed) but stop if the survivor made enough distance away. If a Legion member gets close enough, they'd attack a survivor with a standard attack and cause Killer Instinct to activate. Like Nemesis zombies, they'd be drawn to loud noises, but can also search lockers if they see a survivor enter them like Knight's guards do, and they would also passively destroy dropped pallets if they get near them. For the sake of balance, I'd program them to stay away from generators and hooked survivors, unless they hear the loud noises like a failed skillcheck, then they'd get closer to investigate for survivors. They'd be vulnerable to flashlights and pallet stuns too but obviously wouldn't die, simply be disabled for a while.
If we wanted to get really crazy, the player would also be able to switch between them like Charlotte and Victor, but I doubt BHVR could ever get that to work with the spaghetti code. They probably couldn't do the rest of the idea either but it's fun to imagine.
-
Mario and Luigi fight ghosts and skeletons in haunted houses sometimes, so I'm looking forward to their inclusion in DbD. They'd bring us perks like "YAHOO!" and "LET'S-A GO!" and "MAMA MIA!"

They do. They have 1000 people in the art department and 1 lonely guy in the software engineering department, who keeps leaving on vacations, while they could've instead hired 1000 engineers for the same funds.
1000 artists yet Gabriel and Jonah can't get good clothes.

May I ask why? I’m interested in all of your opinions.
I'm not a Tomb Raider fan, I never played the games old nor new. What I've seen of them, they never had much of a horror vibe to me, not enough to make her inclusion in DbD feel like a natural fit. I don't feel a strong attachment to Lara Croft as a character. The perks seem okay, at least, so she has that. Maybe if she goes on sale at a later date, I would pick her up for those.
-
I had a killer match last week where I hit the regression limit on a central generator thanks to Surge, and it was in the Twisted Masquerade mode, so it should be working.

Yeah, it's horrible, feels like I'm debuffing myself just to use my power.

I don't think I'm going to buy her.
-
I don't like bright colorful outfits or wacky costumes or avant garde fashion. I prefer cosmetics that are actual clothes that the characters would believably own and wear.
-
I'm not a Tomb Raider fan, and I don't see Tomb Raider as a horror IP, so I'm not interested in her inclusion.
-
Considering their recent reworks, if BHVR buffed Dredge, it would read like this:
- Teleportation speed increased by 5%
- Cooldown increased by 20 seconds
- Nightfall reveals Dredge's aura to all survivors

Make brighter maps like Coldwind darker.
I can live with Coldwind, but Ormond and Eyrie of Crows would look so much better if they were nighttime.
-
My favorite buff idea was two points:
- Add exit gate auras
- Show auras of survivors interacting with generators, chests, and exit gates
Could add totems to that too but I'd prefer the above first and foremost.
-
Considering their recent killer reworks, I don't want them to touch Dredge. They'd probably remove one of his powers and then marginally buff the remainder (while lowkey nerfing the actual useful aspects of it).

Finally, we can give survivors guns.

3rd zombie. Tentacle hits give only a small speed boost on infection, like what Licker Tongue should be doing but doesn't. Heavy-duty add-on reworks.
-
What are the guards supposed to do now?
Break pallets.
That's it.

if the killer is more than 10 meters away than the hunt bar won’t go down in 5 seconds. In only applies when your closer.
So you get closer and the bar goes down extremely fast and disables. Or you don't get closer, and the survivor outruns the slow and stupid guard AI.
You accomplish nothing.

5 seconds is more time than you think. It’ll also be more than 5 seconds by the way according to their numbers.
5 seconds is nothing if a killer is farther than 10m away.

It's more exciting than forcing a survivor to leave a loop because you pressed a button.
Honestly his chase is the same if you actually setup guards from range. They literally just made him less free and that's it.
If you set up guards from range then you're rewarded with nothing because the guards can't catch decent survivors on their own and they're quickly disabled if the Knight tries to follow up. His power will be good for nothing.
-
No you should not have respawning pallets.

Then have bleedout bans just require you to show (video evidence) you died under a hook when bledout. With that standard of evidence, it shouldn't be an issue.
Then you can get cases where a killer has legitimately lost track of where they left a survivor slugged, while said survivor has crawled across the map to die under a hook.

I don't think people are grasping how big a change it is that you get to choose your guard now. Being able to use healing poultice whenever you want is actually fairly huge and will make stealthing against knight impossible. And carnifex on command means he basically just has base kit better brutal strength.
We also have to wait and see what his 3 use the same guard twice in a row gets changed to. Just because they made Knight less brainless doesn't mean they got nerfed.
So all he can do is break pallets and use niche add-on builds, while his anti-loop is dead and his chase is nerfed to uselessness.
How exciting.
-
They're all going to be useless in chase after this update.

You can still launch the guard 10 meters away. That’s not far. Then still double chase.
I’m glad it’s gone. It was needed. And then the guard only chases for like 5 seconds because of the proximity nerf. So it does literally nothing.
-
Would it be a good idea to relegate this effect to an addon, rather than making it base kit or scrapping it entirely?
No.

No offense but some games/characters are simply not meant to be played on controller. I can understand why BHVR wants to pander to controller killer players though, sadly.

Or pick themselves up after 20 seconds of being fully recovered. If you cannot pick someone up within 50 seconds, they deserve to pick themselves up.
So no one ever has to pick anyone up ever again, they can just stay on generators.

Do I really need to further explain how knight getting 2 addons partially basekit is infact an objective buff or can you just think it through a bit more without being needlessly biased?
Pillaged Mead could be made 100% basekit and it would still be worthless.

It also practically nullifies missing skillchecks while healing. Not a common problem but still valuable if it happens.

Playing Singularity with joysticks is agony, aim assist is necessary to make him less of a nightmare for console players.

I say this every time it comes up: rework Hemorrhage so the healing regression only happens if the survivor is running.

These changes are absolutely horrible. His power won't do anything after this. The changes read like no one on BHVR has ever actually played as him.
