The map also has an infinite in the tower thanks to the portals.
-
I have experienced this. The map is shockingly unplayable for any killer without mobility.
-
Ironic that the literal dungeon of torture has the fewest hooks on the map.
-
Chucky is definitely a lot blander of a killer now. All he does now is run at you fast every 15 seconds. Fun?
-
I like fantasy horror. I just think Vecna himself looks stupid, he looks like a big purple taffy man.
-
I'm noticing my survivor teammates are also playing with 0 perks. I was confused as to why. It wasn't a one-off either, I've seen two or three matches with a perkless teammate and they definitely weren't new players or using the new survivor.
-
Even as survivor I don't really enjoy this map. Unsafe pallets are all I find, and some of the dungeon parts (while cool-looking) can be so visually darkened I'm actually struggling to see the environment.
-
Not touching it. This update has been miserable so far, and these characters look utterly ridiculous. It's a circus.

One involves risk, reading the opponent /Mindgames, game knowledge and I dare say : skill.
The other does not involve any of that except sometimes mindgames.
Looping is usually also more fun for both sides.
I don't feel like reads, mindgames, or skill come into play when I have to chase someone around a car 5 times.
-
I don't think the buffs will be enough, but I'm not interested in the chapter anyway. Vecna and the survivor (can't even remember her name, Aezir?) look lame, and their perks look mostly bad, and Vecna himself doesn't seem very fun to play. Map looks nice though but I already foresee it as a popular survivor pick because of those portals.
Maybe I'll change my mind in the future but for now, I'm giving this chapter a pass.

Bill. Man's a war vet and died by three steroid zombies to save his friends while fixing a gen and was ready to finally be free from the world just to be brought into another world and forced to fix more gens. Not to mention man is old.
I wouldn't worry about Bill. Last I checked, a battle he can fight forever is exactly what he wanted.

I main Pig and Sadako. I get shift w'd almost every chase despite these killers not having g a strong chase ability.
Shift w is incredibly powerful and is done against every killer if possible.
Both sides makes the chase more unfun if it is the optimal thing to do.
Personally I don't see much difference between running in a straight line and running in a circle.
-
I'm not interested in DnD, or the characters, or the perks. I'm curious to play against Vecna, not as him, and I don't have to buy the DLC for that. I don't really care, and not in an upset way, I just feel indifferent.

Isn't Cheryl/Heather underage? That makes 2
She's aged up for DbD, her bio states it's been years since SH3.
-
I've also struggled with this a lot, and haven't been able to figure a workaround. Lately it feels even worse and I'm seriously wondering if the engine update had made it harder to hit survivors, at least for us console players.

I think his recent Dracula movie was also supposed to be horror.
Renfield, with Nic Cage as Dracula? Definitely another horror comedy.

for free? Nah no way. Also he is a real life person, so he is immediatly less fitting than any fictional character you could come up with. If we talk about immersion, then having a real life actor playing as himself in a video game… not so much.
I like nic cages movies but i have never seen anything remotely horror from his career.I like nic cages movies but i have never seen anything remotely horror from his career.
He's done some horror and horror comedies. Vampire's Kiss is one, Willy's Wonderland is another and I recommend that one. He was also in the ridiculous and hammy remake of The Wicker Man, as well as the recent modern adaptation of Lovecraft's "Color Out of Space." He's been in a few other horror films I haven't seen, Nic Cage does a lot of obscure movies. He's not super-strongly tied to the horror genre but he's definitely not a stranger to it either. He's a very unique kind of person and he is the ONLY real-life person I don't mind being included in DbD, but I hope they never do it again.

Jeff. Guy just wanted to make art and enjoy music. He had a troubled childhood with parents who fought a lot, then divorced. Didn't get to see his dad again, then his dad died. Then he got kidnapped by a cruel alien god for no reason. And no one took care of his dog.
-
I think it's going to be Daryl Dixon. If it was from Telltale's games, I'd prefer Lee or Kenny, personally.
-
It used to be worse. It's only two uses now and not everyone uses it nowadays so it's tolerable. It can definitely still feel like BS but it's not a nonstop pain in the butt anymore. If you're running into it that often, try baiting it out. They most often use it at pallets or windows, or do a 180 and run into you to get you to swing at them out of reflex so watch for signs.
Vecna's upcoming perk that makes crows cause Exhaustion will be a significant counter to Dead Hard, too.
-
If Vecna doesn't get any buffs, he'll die off faster than any other killer. Will be fun playing against him for the first week and that'll be the last we see of him.
-
DbD is a game made to play with horror themes, and the horror theme should be respected. I don't mind an evil undead wizard torturing people with black magic, because magic and fantasy can be very horrifying. "Curse of Strahd" is basically Dracula in DnD and it's one of the most well-known and popular DnD modules for a reason. It can work, and a dark and dingy dungeon filled with arcane secrets and bloody torture rooms is a fine fit for DbD.
However, I will agree that Vecna looks really lame. I was expecting a skeleton or a gnarled corpse or something that actually evoked the menace of an unnatural undying evil that bends life and reality to its cruel whims. Instead he looks like a cartoon character. He looks like a villain from a low-level World of Warcraft sidequest. Doesn't help that of all the spells they could give him, none actually feel like necromancy, and they're all really underwhelming in their implementation.
-
Hopefully BHVR has learned that red and orange are bad colors for maps when so much of the game is already red and orange.
-
Used to be you could look at any killer on the in-game shop and get a description of their power so you can get a rough idea of what everyone did, but the shop menu has been reworked now and I'm not sure where to find that feature anymore if it's even still there.
This game needs a compendium. Something that lists every killer power and add-on, survivor item and add-on, perks, and basic gameplay features like generators and totems and pallets. Loading screen tips aren't good enough anymore.

So you would buff Flashlight Add Ons, because some players are not able to look up or down when getting blinded?
And I thought people want to balance for the Top…
Chain blinds happen most often during animation locks where looking up or down is impossible.
-
Can survivors still phase through the killer during pick-up? If so, there's nothing you can do, and there won't be anything until BHVR changes that.

I do think BHVR needs to be a little careful with how they're going to do collabs in the future but there's no way it will be like fortnite around here. DnD and Nicolas Cage are both amazingly fun collabs that don't take away from the horror aspect of DBD. The only collab that really bothered me was the Rainbow 6 skins. Those were kinda goofy.
The Rainbow Six collab was ridiculous. A fast-paced team-based tactical military shooter has nothing to do with the horror genre. The only thing R6S and DbD have in common is toxic communities.
-
You can't solve people's bad attitudes.
-
I feel like it's gotten worse. Hitting survivors with simple M1s feels a lot more difficult recently and I can't explain why.

Well they cost a lot of F2P currency to get you to use real money. They have over a thousand people to pay, and the game is only $20 so they have to make money however they can. And cosmetics are there number one seller.
This game sure doesn't feel like a thousand people work on it.
I agree these cosmetics are overpriced, especially for a game you already pay to play.
-
We're already there, I only have to look at Trickster, Skull Merchant, and Vecna. They're bigger clowns than the literal clown.

Please give it old MFT or Increased vault speed this would make this perk actually feel useful and very fun to play with. Still sad we never got the vault speed compensation they took from spine chill. Please give us a perk with extra vault speed. 🙏🏻
-Killer Main btw est 2017
Please give us a perk with extra vault speed.
Resilience. And I think it shouldn't do that because it already does a bunch of other good things, so I'm in favor of taking faster vault speed off Resilience and putting it on Spine Chill or No Mither.
-
I would prefer to stick to the source material of the games. I didn't care for the show.
The roadmap shows no map for the Castlevania update, which sucked all hype for the chapter out of me.
-
Updating the HUD to show more perk effects would help a lot more with easing the lack of communication in SoloQ. While I think comms should be limited, I also think that if a survivor's perk is in effect with you, the game should tell you. Especially when it comes to healing perks. We'll Make It shows you when a teammate has it active, do more of that.
-
This community has a serious problem with victim complexes. Ironic since this is a game about people literally being victims.
-
Oni and Knight have to be in there for sure. Add in Deathslinger and Huntress, and fill out the rest with Blight and Hillbilly.

Unbreakabill/DS
For The People/Buckle Up (or now WGLF)
Power Struggle/Flip Flop
Pain Res/DMS
Ruin/Undying
Enduring/Spirit Fury
Open Handed, Thrill of the Hunt and pentimento need aura reading/hex perks to be usable. Perks can just serve critical points in a build to be good. It's not bad because it requires two perks it's bad because it's not worth two perks
Nearly all of the perks you mentioned don't require each other to function. You are mistaking synergy for necessity.
-
BHVR seems to go through phases where they keep trying one idea, throwing it at the wall to see if it works, then backtracking and moving on to the next. Right now we're in the Haste phase. Haste perks, Haste add-ons, Haste powers, etc. Personally I really don't like them sticking Haste onto weak killer powers as a lazy buff, and the perks they're putting out are underwhelming.

Its gonna be Frank West from Deadrising mark my words!
BHVR recently shown a player stat that had something to do with zombies which has everyone thinking that was a hint for a upcoming TWD licensed survivor paragraph…I believe that they used that stat to fool people into thinking its a TWD paragraph when its actually just a Deadrising chapter and they’re trying to make it a unexpected surprise.
Why do I think this? Because they used a stat to show off how many of Nemesis zombies were killed since his release which may be a reference to the Deadrising player stat that shows you how many zombies you’ve killed during the entire playthrough.
Also, both Resident Evil and Deadrising are owned by Capcom, maybe they used that Nemesis zombie player stat to tease another big capcom icon who’s coming into the game.
I really wish it was Frank West as well, but the speculation I've seen is pointing to The Walking Dead instead, a very popular character from the TV show that isn't Rick Grimes. I'm not getting my hopes up for Frank, much as I'd love to see him, especially since the current tome is about fellow journalist Zarina.

I go into SoloQ expecting difficulty and attempting to overcome it. Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't. That's how games are. Most of the time, i still prefer it over playing killer.
-
What would stop people from playing sweaty and tryhard in the "casual" mode?

Perks that require other perks are bad perks.

True, especially since Oblivious will proc a maximum of one time per decent survivor using WA, since it has a tell it's in use.
One of Vecna's purple add-ons applies Oblivious for 15 seconds when a survivor opens a treasure chest. What is 15 seconds of Oblivious going to do? Few survivors will open chests unless they already know Vecna isn't nearby. Another purple applies Mangled+Hemmorhage for 30 seconds. Why is BHVR so scared of applying status effects for any amount of time that actually matters?
-
What I don't understand is that it feels like survivors glide off obstacles but killers feel like they stick to them like glue at the slightest touch.
-
Because it would lead to 4 people bullying 1 to death, frequently and repeatedly, at the expense of the rest of the game. That's what killed other asymmetrical PvP games, I'm pretty sure it's one reason why BHVR's previous game Deathgarden died, and they aren't going to repeat that mistake again.
-
BHVR needs to learn that 30 seconds is too weak for most status effects. Oblivious and Blindness perks should last longer like how Mangled is now. Oh no I can't hear the TR for a little while, how terrible, whatever will I do…

The stereotype that bothers me is that their tome seems to present Brazil as this beautiful and happy place. It was probably to make an homage to the country, but we who live here know that, while Brazil's nature and culture are beautiful indeed, the reality of living in it is not that pretty…
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/5KHTEFP2TD6M/20240522030106-1.jpg
The whole chapter was made to pander to Brazilian audiences (and also weebs), so there's no way BHVR would have written anything that showed the country's rough side. They wouldn't risk upsetting the people they're trying to please. But they did go too far in the opposite direction, their writing comes off as too idyllic, too eager to please.
-
I haven't finished the Rift because I haven't been playing DbD for several hours every day, so I like having a fragment boost.
-
The Unknown has convinced me to stop buying new chapters because they always turn out disappointing after a month or two.
