Good one.
Maybe this inspired the Legendary idea.

Sure, i'm not ever gonna tell someone they can't use Decisive Strike, even though i feel like i got stabbed IRL when i get hit by it that once in a blue moon.

I might have found a few that you missed.
For survivor, Up The Ante is pretty much useless if you get caged for your first phase as it can no longer assist in escape attempts. For killer, Monstrous Shrine is pretty useless as well. Since Pyramid Head always has a chance to use a cage, the likelihood of someone playing him might not use the basement as often or at all in a match. I'm not sure if these two perks would count as completely 'useless', but their potential to be used in a game with Pyramid Head gets drastically reduced. Hope this helps!
Sick, bro!
Nice finds!
Yes, in this specific scenario that i made in the topic, these 2 would be useless.
Monstrous Shrine works on the Basement Hooks, and this Executioner ain't hookin'!
Up The Ante raises not luck, but Luck, and Luck only affects self-unhook & Bear Trap escapes, and Executioner doesn't have any Bear Traps.
I'll be adding them, many thanks! ๐

Skill checks would be a major improvement; for me because the feeling of dying after missing a skillcheck is more intense than repeatedly pressing a button and I think the skillchecks would make you feel more involved with the game, because you actually have to pay attention to what's going on. I mean you can just mash a button while you're having a drink or have your mind somwhere else.
EDIT: Also, it would be interesting if skill checks got a bit smaller as the sacrifice is progressing.
Good point.
I mean, i bet they wouldn't allow Unnerving Presence to affect them, and that'd be fine by me.
But still, the mere thought of missing one, which i rarely do, could be pretty scary.
In that case, if they ever did implement this, i hope the Skill Checks aren't TOO big: Don't want it to be non-scary.
-
It shouldn't as the requirement is to "unhook" them.
But i'm not in the PTB, so i can't confirm it, this is based on the developers' statements.
At the end of my post, i humbly ask for information in case any of you know it better than me. ๐

Which of these perks are actually used, though? Not as part of niche builds or people who have very few perks, but used regularly and often? BT, DS, BBQ, and DH?
I really like how Aftercare changes in both a good and bad way though.
Unless Cages DO actually remove the Auras, but if they don't, it's pretty neat.

I don't know, but i personally don't view that as a good thing, but a bad one.
Though the situation is certainly rare, if it does happen, quite a few lesser-used Perks are hit.

Never say never. Honestly I don't think anyone expected SH. It wasn't in anyone's radar. I think anything can be possible. I can def see Alan Wake in the future.
I look at Alan Wake's gameplay, and i'm like: "There's quite a few similarities here..."

And dont forget that you can crouch to avoid the effect. The killer needs to get you tormented during chase
Thanks for understanding.
And yeah, i know it can be quite the challenge.
But hey, some people LOVE playing the "weaker" Killers, or challenges like Hexes only.
-
Still would like Alan Wake.
-
Expressing concerns is what the forums are for.
If we were only allowed to be happy and positive on here, i'd get kinda sick of it.
The reverse would also make me sick though...

To the killer perks: Remember when Legion was slow and didn't work with Exposed? Every near meta perk was gone for Legion. Still playable. Ever run Insidious or Spirit Fury on Huntress? Or Bamboozle on Nurse? The good thing is, killers can pick the perks that match their power, in Bloodweb and in Loadout.
To the survivor perks: Useless is desperately exaggerated. Try to count how many hooks and how many cages happen during a game. Count more than once pls. And then maybe count on live how many unhooks you do where the unhooked guy is not tunneled or the killer not even near, to validate the effect of BT. Just to compare.
Certainly none of this is exaggerated.
This post is based on getting an Executioner that does not carry & hook.
You're trying to apply this into the actual game, while i wrote in the first sentence that this is me imagining this situation.
It doesn't matter if there's only 0.1% of Executioners who do this, the point is that these Perks are changed, worse or useless once you face that 0.1%.
Whether you want to take that information into consideration or not is up to you, but the information is correct so far.

@Todgeweiht said:
I dont think you are supposed to use the cages 100% of the times.
That's not the point here.
-
@NuclearBurrito said:
Thanataphobia actually does count caged Survivors towards the buff, probably because they are still injured while in the cage or something.
Huntresses Lullaby still gives a missed skillcheck regression penalty even with no stacks. So it isn't useless although it does lose a ton of value.
Thank you for the information!

@KingFrost said:
I think some of them should work with the power, but not all. Kindred should. BBQ should get a stack from it at least.
What if B&C's requirement would change from hooking them to making them enter the first phase?
Then that should apply on Cages too, right?
Or am i thinking wrong here?

Cages are basically slugging without its downsides. Definitely beneficial.
Not my point, but yes.
-
@TheButcher said:
Ok.
No seriously, like with how frequently he can even acess the cage the loss for getting caged isn't even that bad. Honestly I would sooner say every killer should have a mechanic like this to make the game more fair.
Idk about how beneficial it would be for you, just informing y'all. ๐

Well they say that the lights are off or flickering in rooms where an unfinished Generator resides.
And i know The Game has signs pointing towards Generator locations.
Does the new map not have any flickering lights near Generators?
-
None have been announced for years now, and they never addressed it either.
Don't think it's on their radar.

I think do offering to increase totems. Would increase totem locations for killers running hexes, survivors running Inner Strength have extra chances for heal.
Yeah, i've recommended those before.
Nothing came of it though, guess it's not a necessary thing at the time.
-
Ohhh, if you perfected the previous levels, you are allowed to start further in?
That's...kinda cool, but if you're on a quest to complete them all, it's not that useful.
At most, it gives some freedom on what you want to do first.

No doubt.
I've always found it weird that an asymmetric game tries to force symmetry so hard on things like perk slots. It would make sense that the killer has at least 1 more perk slot than survivors, they are supposed to be more powerful after all. But that's why I feel if the new slot is dedicated to hexes only it will stop the rampant abuse of 5 perks that would happen.
What's the worst that happens with an extra hex that most people never bring in anyways? Hex builds get 5 perks but they can't be in 5 places at once.
They'd have to put in a 6th Totem btw.
Hexes in all slots + 1 of them being Haunted Ground + NOED not being one of them = 6 Hex Totems for at least some time.
Indirect, tiny Thrill of the Hunt buff, lol.

I liked using Hexes, and I wish we could use them more tbh. I run Ruin but most games it's useless.
I wish killers got a dedicated hex slot on top of 4 perk slots. Then everyone would know there's almost certainly a totem, and we don't get shafted for running one and losing out on 1/4 of our loadout.
They seem quite scared of adding an additional slot for any role in any way.
I don't really blame them of concerns regarding this, it might create loads more needed balancing that'll take time away from other balancing.
But i'd figure a PTB would be the perfect place to try out 1 or multiple additional slots...

I feel that the chance to lose a 1/4 or more of your loadout shouldn't really be straddled on killers. Why do we have the ability to lose a perk forever before it even got used, while survivors have 16 perks and hardly ANY of them are single use.
Idk, it made a fun addition for me. *points to my profile picture*
-
Except equipping Hex Perks is optional, while being hooked is an integral part of the game.
-
That open middle section really helps me keep track of the Killer.
-
As far as we know, they're not going to be gameplay changers, just visually.
And there's no visual differences between those 2 Nightmares.
-
Obviously, one legendary outfit should change you into cute lil Billy!
-
Yeah i know, we all hate that one.

I want Wraith to change into Azarov, except it's just his skeleton.

Weird is a weird word to use. I personally connotate it with "unfamiliar" and "uncomfortable". I think "unique" would fit better but that's just me. I'm just being that annoying person that judges people's statements based on their vocabulary at this point lol. Fair enough.
Okay.

How is it weird? Neither are strong enough on their own and making these types of effects too annoying by making them stronger is easy. Slapping them together, like was done with Nemesis, was a clever play in terms of perk design. At least imo :P
It's weird because of exactly what i stated.
It's like 2 Perks became one, this has nothing to do with what's strong or weak.
Nemesis is weird like that too.
-
I don't really mind the 2nd effect.
But i find it weird how it's like they slapped an additional Perk effect onto this Perk.
"Yeah, you get the Endurance effect for 8 seconds once healed from the Dying State. Pretty neat, right?...
...
...Also, Cursed allows you to get up now."

Who?

And after a while of being bored, that boredom annoys me.

Licensed Killer i'm most excited for so far.

No, not really.
In fact, this might be the first licensed Killer i'm going to be (somewhat) excited for.

I'm more curious how this will work with original Survivors & Killers.

If they made you happy, someone else would've been disappointed.

Maybe Im just bored with it cause I use it on every killer and every build for the last 6 months ๐
I can get behind that.
I really disliked Brutal Strength back in the day, cause it was just way too good to pass up unless you were Nurse.

Its meh. In general things like thrilling tremors is better because theres no counter, thats not to say bbq isnt useful but since most killers run it most survivors know to counter it. If i wasnt grinding so much id pick other perks over it. Like im all ears, thrilling tremors, survellance, whispers
There's probably a big difference between knowing how to counter it & actually countering it.
I get plenty of Auras.
