Force is a strong word. Mind you, people have map preferences, but dont always get the map they want. Yet, at most times, they deal with it and play the map they are given.
That's right, i deal with map RNG cause i never cared what map i'm on.
I do not want to deal with being forced into a role, it's why i'll never like Friday The 13th.
-
"force"
No, thank you.

I know but I don't think it's a good one. If the killer is dead center then you can't pallet save. If the killer is closer to you but fully under the pallet then you can't save. It pretty much negates pallet saves at all.
Ah you knew, okay my bad.
-
Yeah, this is written in the patch notes as an intende change.

Even if they did know a week before release that they were gonna be removed, it would seem quite odd to single it out and announce that the lines would be removed. Even more so when they can't elaborate on why (in the case it's a legal issue).
It would look quite odd for them to say randomly last week for example "yeah the voice lines are being removed due to complications and we can't tell you why or elaborate beyond that. Sorry".
Idk, i'd rather hear that then nothing at all.
Situation's weird regardless of their notification.
-
True, i don't think i'd like the game anymore if all Killers used Bear Traps.

Thanks for clearing this up. I was under the impression we could lose the pips we had let's say on iri 3 but could not drop to iri 4. So you can drop to level 4 of each color but never drop back to gold if you hit iri. Got it.
This helps a bit for finishing the month off right instead of loosing rewards on the last night.
Please do not quote me on this, i myself am confused now due to bug possibility.
-
Yeah you can still drop from I to IV, but you can't lose your grade's color anymore. (Apparently this might be a bug?)
That gets a hard reset to ASH IV on the 13th each month.

I will say that it's pretty scummy to advertise a feature of the Cenobite for weeks (in this case the voice over lines) in the PTB, and then announce that you're removing it in patch notes right before it's released. It may not be a case of theft, but it's definitely false advertising.
False advertising assumes they knew they couldn't keep the voices.
And you can assume that they knew, not gonna rule that possibility out.
You can also assume that something unforeseen happened and that they were certain they could keep the voice in the game up until said unforeseen thing happened.
Just so you know: From a customer's perspective i don't blame how you feel about this ordeal at all.
Of course it feels pretty bad that such a big part of the product is removed shortly before its launch.
But we're missing context, and i really want to know.
-
Spirit either wins or it's a tie.
Spirit winning is by her being a better fighter, or they're equals and Spirit will wear Wraith out.
A tie is by Wraith being the better fighter but Spirit being a ghost, so he'll just disable her in a way instead.
Heck, maybe forcing her into the Spirit Realm would somehow ironically kill her. (Psst: She doesn't use the Spirit Realm for her Power.)

Lol yeah literally an hour and a half before it was released?! When they've watched game play footage up until that point and yes I get sometimes things change but I mean who literally is going to read the "notes" before they go and buy something they've been excited about for what at least a month now? And I did read the notes before I went and downloaded and bought pinhead and I saw no mention of it in game. Who's going to go and read all the fine print if something literally changed like voices being taken out withing an hour the dlc got released. I stick with my wording.
who literally is going to read the "notes" before they go and buy something
Yeah guys, why would you check on how that upcoming product is coming along?
Just buy it blindly lol, it has Pinhead in the name so it's going to be 100% okay.
"fine print" Okay, now you're just being funny.
-
It used to be high pings.
Now it's nothing.
-
The usual.
But you probably mean the next big thing.
We'll probably see some Killer visits now.
-
Oof, we just got a hit with a "maybe".
-
Good that they're going after sounds, but i'll believe that it's actually fixed once i see- once i hear it.
Sounds being bugged has been a thing for quite a long time now.
-
Wraith's are terrible.
-
Nah i don't like Bamboozle on him, not enough benefits since he shouldn't have to deal with most windows anyway, thanks to his awesome lunge.
But i like the hit-and-run style even less, i play more like how you describe you play.
Shadow Dances are ones i pretty much only put on for the Anti-Pallet meme build.
-
The part that gets me confuzzled is that this map doesn't get disabled.
-
I like the automatism of Hex: Ruin, but Pop Goes The Weasel fits my playstyle more.
-
I don't like it, which i should on paper considering i like doing the chase as Wraith.
Even before his buffs: Going through windows is really not necessary to significantly shorten the chase unless you're in the Killer Shack or that one super-long wall that looks like this from above: |___ ___|
And at least in my games, Survivors often don't vault the same window twice in 16 seconds.
So to equip Bamboozle only for those 2 Windows, i'd rather put on Fire Up instead.

lol, I think it could also be cool if you see him get startled when finding a survivor in a locker while cowardly stabbing them before picking them out
Huh.
Y'know maybe it IS time to have a lil more variation in the "grab from a Locker" animation.

I don't think I have, if I wanted to pressure gens as wraith I would use the ultra rare for tracking gens and probably a windstorm addon.
Experiences may differ of course, but bruh: Explosions all around!
😈⛏️😫💥💥💥
-
That there's always someone else to blame for your mistakes.
-
Obviously Philip would give his Wailing Bell a lil jiggle.
-
The perk helps against survivors playing stealthy
I don't like to nitpick but this might confuse some peeps, i know for certain it would confuse me on one of my less-good days. 😜
Anyway @Yords, have you ever tried "All Seeing" - Spirit on a "Pressure the Generators" build?
First of all you can abbreviate that Add-on to ASS, which is awesome. (I wonder if it'll censor it, i can't see it as i write this.)
Secondly i'm liking it more and more which is weird.
I've always preferred more Power Perks, like Make Your Choice, Devour Hope, Brutal Strength, stuff like that.
But having multiple Generators go pop with Surge, Eruption & Oppression, IDK it feels very nice.
And because of ASS, i know with a simple cloak where those Perks are needed the most.
-
Damn, giving up on someone before they might be dead.
He could have the highest rating of all Killers, i'll only play Wraith.

Are you being serious (I ask because it could be read as sarcasm)? If so I'd be curious to hear more. That sounds intriguing.
In the first year of DbD, i put this up as a joke question for the weekly streams they used to do.
Why would i? You'll have to ask my younger-self why, i have no clue.
Mathieu was one of the ones at the table and he read my question.
They said they couldn't do it in Haddonfield cause license, but it isn't out of the question.
Now i don't know how licenses work and if this reasoning is still applicable today, but godamn it i'm gonna get my cul-de-sac map.
-
I prefer indoor maps, but i'm still waiting on my urban-setting cul-de-sac map.

@Crowman said:
Wouldn't this just make Mindbreaker a new meta perk, because it would be a flat increase to the time it takes for survivors to finish a gen.
I thought about that Perk before, so it would need a change, and not just a number change.

20% might be good, if you want it to to be something to be toyed around with other mechanics. Otherwise probably 12%
Well sure, a value you can influence is usually more interesting.

Yes. It's just outclassed by medkits and keys. Also people like bringing flashlights for saves.
Sooo...
Med-Kits -> Keys -> Flashlights -> Toolboxes -> Maps?

if its only a liltte bit its probably fine
Oh definitely, i wasn't even going anywhere near twice as slow or something ridiculous like that in my brain.
This idea mainly stems from the thought of Exhaustion maybe being more of a burden in general than just among other Exhaustion Perks.
-
But they are abandoned.
-
Little stuff like this i do really like in games.
-
I am.
If i don't play Killer, i'm not playing at all.

In the context of the other buffs he got, this one put him over the top. We either keep the buffs we all wanted him to have, or we lose the one that broke him and now allows him to be ridiculous cheesy and boring/frustrating to go against.
True invisibility from a distance is a buff everyone wanted.
Everyone thought it was ridiculous to see him from the other side of the map.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
You want to keep it %speed related, ye?
Aye, and everything affected by it would only be twice as fast if it was 100%.
-
@AGM said:
Yes.
Sick!

@Brokenbones said:
It's 20% off of 2.6 seconds
which is 0.52
I think in the context of dbd 100% of a speed is usually cutting it in half
Like we'll make it for example - (100% healing speed increase)
normal healing speed = 16 seconds
we'll make it = 8 seconds
It's really confusing but yeah
Thanks m8!

@SunderMun said:
Just nerf all-seeing and remove the 'true invisibility' buff that he got, and we're good to go.
Wait, do we now want to be able to spot him from across the map again?
-
They said it'll make it easier to see what performs (too) well/poor.
They're basically telling you that, if there's something that's obviously not right and nothing's changing about it, that means they see it and do nothing about it.
Or they're working on it and not telling you, but that doesn't change anything from your PoV.
-
That would be extremely silly since we can still walk around as Nancy, use Steve's Perks, buy Demo's Add-ons, etc.
It's just the censor being the weirdest censor i've ever seen, as is usual.

That's an unreasonable assumption then, imo. Those were addons that either didn't work at all or not to the full extent, but that changed nothing about the value that they were coded to have.
Let's assume the unlikely scenario in which an addon is supposed to have an effect of 40%, but is only half as effective for whatever reason. If the wiki were then to tell you that the addon has an effect of 20%, that would be wrong information, 'cause that's not the coded value, it's the result of a bug or unintended behavior.
From what I can tell, the wiki only ever goes by what is coded, which is the reason they have changed a bunch of descriptions around, as I've previously said. The wiki doesn't adjust the value, they adjust the description to fit the value.
No i didn't mean things would adjust the value.
I simply mean that they tell you that the presented value is wrong within the game itself as a bug or whatever is messing up the Add-on.
-

Doesn't make a lot of sense and what you're saying here is completely unreasonable, you can't expect these guys to test values on the off-chance spaghetti code might make it not work.
I'm not expecting them to, i'm assuming them to.
They've stated Add-ons not properly working on their pages before, and i don't see why they wouldn't have contributors test that out.
-
After the names we already got in here, Dead Space is honestly a no-brainer at this point.
When (and i'm on purpose not using "If" but "When") DS gets its teaser trailer, i won't even be surprised.
Might be the first license ever that i'd get a bit excited over though.
-
@Alionis said:

And what makes you believe that?
Things seemingly unrelated to recent fixes sometimes tend to bug out after said fixes.
Could be at times that a value is correct, yet what you get is different due to other things.
-
@Alionis said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2470114#Comment_2470114
That doesn't make sense. The values are datamined from the very files the game itself uses, of course they're the correct ones, the game doesn't use any other.
No i mean that some other things might influence said value.
-
Awww, i'm not a top Killer main. 😪
-
I bet it could look really cool and ominous in the MacMillan Estate ambiance.
