Woah what is that supposed to mean? One thing I can tell you is bhvr don't play around with Homophobia

I think now we can objectively say the game is killer sided with this years changes.
- Fog vials complained about until basically useless
- The Ghoul is unchanged even with numerous complains about how unfun he is to verse
- anti slugging and tunneling changes not coming to the game meanwhile killers keep buffs from it like seeing hook counter
- Healing nerf coming again
- off the record nerfs (even tho we not getting anti tunnel)
- Slow down buffs to killer (Grim , Ruin)
- go next prevention (not allowing survivors to attempt on hook and go next that only effect the survivor side, not if for example killer gives up and afks )
What buffs have survivors got in 2025?
- pallet density that is being reverted but just wanted to mention it as its the main one I see complained about on here
- Abandon feature that only works when you have lost (as it should but its not really a buff just a get out of match faster)
- I Think faster sabo speeds but cant find a source if it was this year or older change
- (adding this even tho its just a new good perk) Conviction the perk
- nothing else that I can think of.Facts

The PTBs are to test solutions, not a preview whats to come in the next update. Stop making these test out to be promises to fulfill.
Devs have already stated they want solutions to these very complex issues. Don't expect the first, second, or even third attempt to be that solution.
Except Devs have pushed stuff to live from PTB that nobody wanted in the past

'Deserve' is a good word.
This pallet update was meant to be QoL that addresses deadzones by switching the tiles arrangement. It was never meant to massively buff survivors, or combat tunnelling.
And QOL it is and yet Killers just want the easy win and take all the pallets away. Just like they camp and tunnel because they have no skill.
Deserve is a good word just like you deserve more pallets
-
Not enough bring back Elusive and boost the time to 20 seconds

Except pallet density doesn't only hurts tunnelling killers, but also every other killers that play nicely.
So no, it has to go.
No it doesn't if you can get every protections scrapped you don't deserve less pallets

I think characters that directly add new gameplay elements ie freddy, xeno are unlikely to appear due to the extra work it would take to get all the features loaded.
Freddy would need more clocks and pallet spawns, Xeno tunnels expanded tailored for every map and turret holes and turret spawns it'll take alot of work plus they still need permission from license holders

The moment Kaneki get's added this mode dies for real.
I really love the possibility to play with a friend as killer and hope they do a "Disney" 2v8 adding Xenomorph and Chucky to the roster, but if things don't truly change I'm not playing the next iterations.
The atrocity that is this comeback mechanic that is now being really abused by survivors (this is the reason you see 2 to 4 gens pop at the same time so often), the fact that they need to repair only 6 1v4 gens and, mostly, the lack of new classes or anything meaningful for survs to make them wanting to play to heavily impact the killer queues.
All this should be addressed along the damn cages that keep teleporting survs close to opened gates.There's no way there adding Ghoul to 2v8 he'll get removed just like legion
-
@azaxydbd said:
well if there is a map that needs more pallets adjustment is cornfield for sure, their pallets are really unsafe and most of the time u get a ghoul or something then u have to accept getting downed without any skill involved.
Oh yeah I forget about that map honestly definitely needs more pallets to many deadzones

money. ever since the resident evil 2v8, every time new killers get added it’s always a licensed version. we’ll probably get original killers added in but as side characters to the licensed 2v8 like legion and oni.
Yeah that makes sense
-
@MoZo said:
i’m still shocked that unknown, doctor, knight and clown haven’t been added yet. all of their associated maps are in the 2v8 mode and it seemed that the devs were gonna add the killers and their respective maps as one since dead dawg came when deathslinger was added - same with spirit and family residence.
Real talk idk why they didn't just go in order from old to new killers?

they decreased the base fill rate by 50% and made it so you have to stand within that area for 20+ seconds for it to really kick in the anti camp. if you’re just walking past real quick to kick a gen or get to the other side of the map, it will NOT have that much impact on the anti camp. yall still need to remember to bar fills way slower if you’re further away from the hook as to walking 2 inches next to the hook
Oh crap was the -minus 50% Fill rate still coming to live?
-
Buff Anti tunnel perks
Decisive Strike (DS) buffed to 5 seconds
Off the Record (OTR) buffed to 60 seconds
Second Wind buffed to 10 seconds
Babysitter buffed to 20%
Borrowed Time Buffed to 30 seconds for both endurance and haste
Duty of Care Buffed to last 15 seconds

It's not that simple.
The pallet density thing wouldn't be a problem if the gap in power between killers wasn't so astronomically big. Sure, it helps survivors against some of the top level killers like Blight, Billy, etc. (not by a huge amount, but it's noticeable). But is also renders a majority of the killer roster exponentially weaker than they already were. It hurts the weaker killers far more than it hurts the strong killers. That's the problem.
Then revert the pallet changes and Nerf the top level and buff the low levers literally Blight has been S-Tier King for 4 years proper balance needs to happen

Tbf, content creators priority will always be views. They might play both roles but for them it comes down to what gets them the most view$. Is it survivor winstreaks or killer winstreaks? Hens was honest about this not long ago when he said he's a content creator first and a DBD player second.
Facts that's why DBD content always focuses on Killer content Survivor content is just a side hustle at most they'll do whatever it takes to keep Killer and views alive
-
@fussy said:

Except all these "killers DBD content creators" are both sides players, who have a lot of survivor world records and overall play survivor on level you won't be even close anytime soon? So maybe they see slightly bigger picture, don't ya think?
Most of the DBD content creators has a major bias to the killer role. If a major nerf came to Killers they immediately act like it's the death of DbD as proof these current changes.
While if a major nerf came to Survivors they barely care since most of there content focuses on killer.

@BlackRabies said:
There's far more survivor players than killers so que times won't really be impacted even if some decide to go on break.
Is that why Survivor queue times are 1 min and Killer Queue times 30min?
The harsh truth of the matter there is to many Killer players and not enough Survivors. 1 killer needs 4 survivors that's why there's a high need for Survivors.

@cogsturning said:
I will just continue to play killer when no friends are available to play. They're the only thing that make survivor bearable. I'd love to solooq again but as long as BHVR has no interest in helping the experience then I have no interest in participating in it.
if the killer queue times get too bad, I guess I might take that break.
Basically my plan I'm no longer playing Survivor just Killer from now on I'll still do play while you wait survivor in 2v8 that ain't as miserable as 1v4 soloQ
-
Yeah what happened to Elusive they should have kept that

@Skillfulstone said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4030226#Comment_4030226
I mean, not to sound pessimistic, but BHVR has effectively no incentive to do more than the bare minimum.
There's no meaningful competition (every other assyms are either dead or dying).
The licenses alone could keep the game standing (let's be honest, if licenses never came to DBD, that game would have died years ago) and every new licenses bring in a wave of players from an entirely different community (retention is bad, but it's enough).
Even after every repeated disasters this year (all those disaster streams/collabs, major changes being repeatedly canceled etc.) people are still buying stuff. So from a business point of view, there's no need to put more effort and resources on a formula that already works and isn't in any real danger no matter how many mistakes are made.
Sad but true

Just put a "Play while you wait" on the 1v4 and i see no issue LOL
But for real, although i understand some people wanted the PTBs changes, they were half-baked and lackluster. It would push casual killers - they do exist, even if some people claim they don't - to other games without helping too much SoloQ and casual survivors. In the end, medium experienced survivors would end up facing tons of comp level killers playing S tiers and very good survs would be gods.
And for survivor… i'm currently playing survivor and i see no issue with the current state of the role. SoloQ is miserable, of course, but not due to lack of perks or because survivors are weak, but because randoms troll a lot.
Without real and effective forms of communications - not voice comms only - SoloQ will still be hell
Hope BHVR works in better solutions and ways to refresh the gameplay without breaking the game balance.
they any sense of changes affecting killers DbD content creators will make "the death of DBD" videos and get it scrapped everytime

I'd say there are a few blight add-ons that need toning down, but I'd also say iridescent billy needs tuning too.
In saying that, I'd sooner verse a blight than any of the newer killers. There's something about how easy to play the latest 4-5 killers are compared to Blight.
Basically just rework the speed addons

Scrapping everything is the right move.
This iteration was bad. It didn't punish tunnel, but made not tunneling more difficult.
First iteration was better, and could have worked with some relatively simple adjustments, like adding an additional hook state or two to trigger the anti tunnel penalty. Big punishment, yes, but the rewards could have been adjusted appropriately.
Scrapping it was the correct call.
Oh great instead of something we get nothing I completely believe Devs ain't gonna try anymore to solve slugging, tunneling and camping we just gotta deal with it apparently. im just gonna stop playing survivor.

Could they maybe try first so we can see? All we've had for the longest time are half baked ideas that end in failure (in my opinion). On the very rare chance we get something really cool and fun it's fleeting, either because it's a novelty that wears off (Nic Cage) or it's nerfed into oblivion (too many to list).
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4029844#Comment_4029844
I really fail to see the difference of how one system that denies gameplay is worse than another. It's all accepted by the game. All you can do is improve the experience and hope for the best, which is not what we've seen. All we've gotten are anti-measures that harm the game and/or feel akin to threats.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4029867#Comment_4029867
The craziest thing about these suggestions too is that we've tried it all. Unless anyone arguing for harsher penalties came around in the last 2 months, they saw bad players being punished like you mention.
The discourse on game balance is always stuck in 2016 for some reason.
We couldn't even try the unhook protections and anti Slug devs scrapped em all i give up tbh

He did have addons changed in that time period, which was a nice change and sorely needed, but his basekit hasn't been nerfed in that long.
The wiki lists increasing his terror radius as a nerf, but that has upsides and downsides so I wouldn't count it.
Yeah his add-ons needed it badly but he definitely needs to be looked at
-
@jesterkind said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4029618#Comment_4029618
To be fair, not like it's stopped being a problem since the last time it was a hot topic, lol.
Seeing this thread and a few others pop up had me go check the wiki, and the last time Blight got a direct nerf to his power (exempting addon changes, though those were quite good) was in 2021.
So Blight has been touched for 4 years which is honestly ridiculous being S-Tier for that long
-
@Firellius said:
I think the difficult bit is; how do you nerf Blight in such a way that he's still Blight, but not busted?
I think he's got a similar issue to the Nurse, where his kit just kinda has the game in a stranglehold by its base function.
Not really Nurse Design ignores basic survivor counterplay Pallets and Vaults while Blight still has to adhere to the basic counterplay pallets and Vaults.
If we just make him 110%ms and Make him lose 2 tokens when breaking a pallet he would be alot more fair to go against. He'll still be blight just more fair

@Pulsar said:

No, it's because they half-ass everything.
It's like the anti-tunnel changes. They are gonna half-ass them and never touch it again. They fix nothing, make new problems and move on.
Even if they didn't half ass things it still wouldn't be enough for y'all
-
@CrypticGirl said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4029563#Comment_4029563
You can no longer wait out the penalty; you have to clear it by playing 20 matches (which is dumb, because it prompts those people to keep queueing up rather than stepping away) . And you have to queue up for the timer to start counting down, again meaning you can't just wait it out. There's nothing weak about that.
But sure, let's make the penalty even harsher one more time. Maybe then everyone will realize that they're using the wrong medicine entirely.
Or maybe they won't, because no one ever learns.
You absolutely can if your smart about it however I do agree it should just auto lock you out without having to queue up without having to sit there.
-
@Pulsar said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4029568#Comment_4029568
Go figure, people don't want to sit in a lost match, and they don't want the game to be decided in the first minute.
More BP, a comeback mechanic for Survivor, less strength in the 4v1 and more strength in the 3v1, etc etc
And there you have it you have proved my point even when they try it's never deemed worth it enough and always want more go figure.

I disagree, even if Blight was brought down to Wesker's level he'd be far funner to go against. In comparison I feel Wesker is way fairer and more fun.
Agreed Wesker feels fair due to his limited dashes 2 while blight has 3 times that
-
@OmegaXII said:
This is like saying Wesker needs to be 110% and lose token when breaking pallet.
Blight's chase power is FAR from the strongest in the game to justify the 110%, because it's not usable in so many loops, just like Wesker's Dash.
Unless you're a Blight main who put hundreds or thousands of hours, then it's probably fine. But those are extremely rare, and I doubt you'll see one in months.
For average players, he's not really performing much better than other Killers, so I don't see any problem with him, being one of the hardest killer to learn with high skill ceiling.
When Wesker get 6 dashes then you can make the comparison until then there's no point comparing the two when there strength differs so much
-
@OmegaXII said:
Here's the hope of having more rewards for Killers spreading hooks…😞

Just because children's Tylenol is "weak" doesn't mean you should overdose on it. And if children's Tylenol doesn't work, why would you take a more potent form of the same thing when the better solution would be to try something different?
The point was Devs are using a weak form of the system and using regular Tylenol will fix the problem a stronger more stricter system it's not overdosing when it's the correct dose and not a weak version of it

Right right.
We've seen this double down method absolutely doesn't work.
Why not give a different approach a try?
We've also tried making thing worth it and it doesn't work and people still DC.
Your approach has already failed yet you can't see it.

NGL when I play guide I just trap a Gen when I hear a killer near run then point and laugh when they blow up the gen.
Also does anyone else feel like opening gates faster as a guide not really matter? Or really make a difference.

No we're not drip feeding nerfs to blight across multiple patches who's been Top S-Tier for years.

When the complaints are consistent, yeah we might want to take a look at things.
When people realize we get something changed by complaining everyone will complain about everything fun or not since people's fun is different to the person
-
@Pulsar said:
I wonder how many times we'll have to keep doubling-down before we realize that this isn't working lol.
I predicted this years ago, the literal exact form this would take, and what people's responses would be.
Until you make the average game enjoyable/worth playing out for a reason that isn't brownie points, people will find ways to quit. Instead of doing that though, we're gonna double-down on punishments that demonstrably don't work and waste resources doing that instead.
Your meaning of worth won't be the same as someone elses your logic applies to your own argument you can keep trying to make it worth staying but people will still be dcing over every small inconvenience. Heck I remember you saying DC penalties shouldn't even exist and I know that's completely wrong
-
@CrypticGirl said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4029113#Comment_4029113
Yeah, the first DC or so is supposed to be forgiving in case of crashes or other accidental/unintentional DC's. If the penalty is supposed to be a medicine for the game's illness, and it's not working, you don't fix it by taking more. The overdose would do more harm than good.
Its not an overdose when the medicine is comparable to children's Tylenol it's weak and pathetic and that's why it has to be more potent.
-
Everyone said it best already so I'm gonna make a joke the power distance is Blight go fast while Ghost face stares at you.
