Base kit gen regression speed is pathetic and has been for forever. Outside of using a perk, it is very rarely worth it to kick gens. It is so ridiculously slow that 9/10 times you are costing yourself more time by doing it than you are potentially saving. It's that sad.
-
Tbh they're both pretty lackluster in general. There are way better options for those perk slots. Most the killer "chase" perks are honestly pretty bad.
If you're dead set on using a chase perk you'd get overall more value running Bamboozle than either of those.
-
Nothing of material has changed since then so however you felt then is how it will feel now.
-
Thanata isn't good on anyone, even it's best case scenario (Legion/Plague). The numbers are simply too small.
-
Yeah it didn't really need a negative at all. That negative is really bad.
-
No one that actually plays the game at a high level with a high amount of time thinks the game is even remotely balanced.
What the game is balanced for is low rank/bad players. At high MMR/SWF everything gets thrown out the window.
-
Tbh most the status effects are pretty awful and not worth running. The only decent ones are generally Mangled, Exposed, and Oblivious.
All the rest of them are generally just weak effects and/or they last significantly too short to matter whatsoever. Most these other status effects could literally have their their durations doubled and they'd still be bad. That's a good illustration of how bad they are.
Exhaustion was a strong status effect, but now the durations have been made so short they're essentially trash that you can get off mid chase.
Broken is an awful status effect no matter how long you make it. You want survivors to waste time healing and this debuff encourages them to gen rush. It just needs to do more and be given an addition effect.
Shout out to Hemorrhage for being probably the worst status effect in the game that has needed a buff for years.

Wouldn’t longer gens mean more boring holding m1 though?
I think typically when people reference this topic they are referring to extra objectives that end up slowing the gens down in the process, not necessarily literal extra gen time.
-
I'm really worried this Boon totem thing is going to be a totem that a survivor lights and the effect is active until the killer cleanses it. If that is actually what they are that is an absolutely terrible idea. The dead last thing killers need right now is an additional time sink in a balance where they are already vastly in the negative when it comes to time. Killers simply already do not have appropriate time for their objective before you even throw in a totem search nonsense. We needed extra objectives on the survivor side to slow them down and instead this would be the complete opposite of that.
We're just speculative at this point but if that is what it turns out to be (and it seems like it is) then I have no clue what they're thinking.
-
Her issue is a lack of time efficiency that comes along with them, not necessarily the power itself. IE rather than make her CP stronger, allow her to collect her pools remotely through a paused/slowed animation.
On the topic as well staying sick should do more. Possibly a momentary pause when you vomit to make staying injured riskier than it realistically is.
-
There's nothing wrong with the hatchet hit boxes, just like there wasn't the last 5 million times a post like this was made over the last few years.
What people are experiencing as "bugged" hit boxes is just all latency related. IE the hatchet that flies behind you and looks like it shouldn't have hit, does hit, because it shows your character as being further back and in the path of the hatchet than what you're actually seeing on your screen.
It's essentially the exact same issue with basic m1 hits where on your screen you were no where near him but on his you were much closer.
Also, anyone saying the old hit boxes changes they attempted on her hatchets years ago was "fine" or "good" simply was not playing Huntress at any significant level back then. Those hit box changes were absolutely terrible. They were changed back because they were bad, not because people "complained".
-
As you balance for high tiers the "worse" players will initially lose more yes. However then their MMR will lower until they are back winning/losing the exact averages they were before. So balancing from the top down would in the end only improve the game for high ranks and not actually hurt the lower players overall.
All balancing for high ranks would do is essentially change the MMR ranking next to peoples names (which they can't even see anyway) but improve the balance for the high ranks.

I haven't seen you in a long time. I don't think spirit is going to be A or B. she's going straight to F-tier. Even complete new player can see dust and use directional sounds to precisely determine where spirit is.
She was like this in PTB and everyone agreed that she was very bad. your going just see survivor drop pallets and camp pallets and whenever she comes next to you, just slide over pallet meanwhile the spirit has no information on where survivor is.
I never want to play a killer that is not at least A-tier. B-tier and below might as well just auto-lose against good teams. Spirit just going to be an auto-lose killer after her changes are pushed through.
I'm finishing up my medical school so I had to take some time off for studying. I'm basically done with school now though so I'll be on more again.

They aren't that strong, you just have to play her a bit differently than how you used to.
She still goes basically double the speed of a survivor while phasing. She has an insane lunge... All you gotta do is use your brain a bit more.
People have said this exact ######### about the Nurse change. "Oh shes gonna be trash now, oh shes not gonna be viable anymore."
Guess what? She ended up just fine.
The Nurse changes weren't even close to the level of the nerf Spirit got. Apples and oranges.
-
Even with how skewed their data was, it showed she was in fact not over performing.
-
BW if anything could use buffs, not nerfs.
-
@HollowsGrief said:
I mean all these people saying mid tier killers are where every killer should be are dumb. Top tier are the only viable killers at high MMR and high tier are just slightly playable, everything else is just trash, that includes all mid tier killers.
^ Basically.
B tier in DBD is basically garbage. Even A tier still requires lots of mistakes on the survivors part. S tier is actually where you get a fair chance of winning in a good vs good match without relying on survivor mistakes to determine if you win or not.
They don't balance around good vs good though, they balance around low rank players that have no idea what they're doing which is where basically everything's viable.
-
Well PTB Spirit was considered bad and these changes put her worse than she was in the PTB. She's gone from high tier viability. I don't think people realize how heavy these nerfs are because they're just clouded with hating Spirit and happy she's finally gutted.
-
While she does need an addon pass for sure, her base kit has needed huge changes for literally years now. Traps are inconsistent, crouch is garbage, and the ambush dangles on the edge of useless.
-
Total trash now.
You're stronger not running it than running it.

You don't need a number to understand if a trial was fair or unfair.
Except then you're talking subjective material. People could simply have a bad match. You're essentially just guessing then. While heavily flawed, the current system still at least gives a rough overall idea.
-
Need a way to hide the bad mm and ranking. If you can't see it, you can't complain about how bad it is.
-
Yes, almost every day. Usually unrelated to the matches though, just general talk about DBD.
-
It should slowly regress if not finished. 99'ing shouldn't even be a thing.
-
You said 3, but honestly any killers below A tier need buffs of varying degrees. Which B tier and below account for more than half the entire killer roster.

I actually managed to get out LOL. 2 died, 2 escapes. It was a really good match though. Everyone earned decent BPs. You play a good game, that's why I remembered.
And that evening I saw you on the forums and asked if you went by the same handle in game and you said yes :P.
Oh wow y'all must have played well, I very rarely don't 4k with Twins, usually at 4 or 5 gens as well.

Look obviously we're not agreeing on this I've tried this counter play everyone says works it doesn't a good Spirit will just hear you stop moving and down you survivors make noise. Especially with Stridor. This counterplay is assuming the Spirit won't hear you which good Spirit's will hear you Slow walk or standing still doesn't work we see videos again and again of a good Spirit hearing this and just hitting you and ending the game. if you somehow juke she could just have her add-ons to cover this mistake. And she can just phase around the pallet not that hard. Your mind isn't changing and mine isn't. So respond if you want. And would you care if Spirit got nerfed?
Spirit doesn't need nerfs.

At loops you can use factors like hearing the killer footsteps, breathing, and the red stain. When Spirit is phasing you have nothing to work with but guessing. Slow walk or stand still. Doesn't work against a good Spirit or one with Stridor. And you said I did not think Old Nurse was fine. the did suggests you use to believe this. And why wasn't she fine. By your logic because only a few could master her she would be fine like Spirit. And are Haddonfield loops fine because only a few know how to properly use them.
"At loops you can use factors like hearing the killer footsteps, breathing, and the red stain."
You are generally not hearing footsteps or beathing of the killer, and the red stain is gone because everyone moon walks to hide the light. So yes, those are guesses.
"When Spirit is phasing you have nothing to work with but guessing. Slow walk or stand still. Doesn't work against a good Spirit or one with Stridor."
It works against the vast majority of even decent Spirits. The Spirit is guessing, not the survivor. This is also at rank 1 I'm talking about, so especially all these people complaining that are in lower ranks would have all these things working against those Spirits.
"And you said I did not think Old Nurse was fine. the did suggests you use to believe this. And why wasn't she fine. By your logic because only a few could master her she would be fine like Spirit. And are Haddonfield loops fine because only a few know how to properly use them."
You are assuming things that I'm not implying or saying. You've immediately taken the assumption that because I point out how rare god tier Spirits are, that it is also the reason why I should have thought old Nurse was fine. That's not my sole reasoning. Even a god tier Spirit has some counter play because even in worst the worst case scenarios you can just early pallet drop, but you couldn't even do this against old Nurse. They are not the same. They were on different levels. This is even talking solely base kit, throw addons in and that's another one of old Nurses issues and another difference between the two. IE the skill requirement and rarity of them showing up isn't the only factor, there are multiple other reasons.

While yes there is guessing involve at many loops. You can still physically see what a killer will be doing which other killer minus an insidious bubba. Where standing still is a viable strategy? And why do you think Old Nurse is fine now?
"While yes there is guessing involve at many loops. You can still physically see what a killer will be doing which other killer minus an insidious bubba."
You generally cannot see what the killer is doing for any of those "guesses" at loops bar like shack. If you could see them then there would be no guesses.
"Where standing still is a viable strategy?"
Because lots of people play bad and fall for it. You never guess into her body first of all. You sprint for a direction for a couple seconds to make her think you've commited which forces her phase then you slow walk or stand still. Once again she is forced to make a random guess. Again we can nit pick small nuances here if you want, but the vast majority of Spirits you're facing this stuff works on. I do it all the time.
"And why do you think Old Nurse is fine now?"
That isn't what I said. I never said Old Nurse is fine now. All I said was Old Nurse was not fine. Those are different things.

So a guessing game? Which leads to gameplay as exciting as facing Freddy. And side question do you think Old Nurse was fine if only a few people could master her?
Do you realize how much guessing is already in the game even aside from Spirit? A ton. It's nothing different than what we already have. Also, the difference between a mind game and a guessing is that one side provided false information to mislead the other. IE if we're getting technical, that scenario isn't even guessing. The real issue people have with her is how good she is, the "guessing" is an escape goat.
I did not think old Nurse was fine.
-
Factually just not true.

Explain please what mindgames are possible against a good Spirit with Stridor.
You basically have to be pro-active, not re-active. IE if you're looking for feedback from the Spirit you're already playing against her wrong.
You provide false information to her and force her to make a guess. There are many ways to do this, but one example would be sprinting to a window and the Spirits phasing after you. You fast vault, wait a couple seconds, then slow vault back over. All the Spirit got from this was tracks to a window and a loud vault. She now has to guess which side you committed to. While uninjured you have the advantage, while injured she does.
You can get as nit picky as you want and be like oh she can hear the soft breathing even while uninjured or the soft sound while slow vaulting back over, but let's be real here, 99% of the Spirits you face even in rank 1 matches are not hearing any of that. These mind games work on almost all the Spirits you go against bar the god tier Spirit with expensive headphones you see as rarely as you see a god tier Nurse, aka once every few months.
These mind games especially work because the vast majority of the community has no idea how to play against Spirit and instead come here to complain. Aka most Spirits don't expect these mind games because most people aren't actually using them which is why they work.

So when a Spirit is running Stridor which most do. With her good add-ons most of them. With other great perks. How much of a chance do you believe survivors will have?
Quite a significant chance. The vast majority of Spirits you run into even at rank 1 are easily mind gameable. Most people just don't understand how to do it.

An actual god tier Spirit is about as rare as a god tier Nurse.
You don't counter god tier S tier killers in the 1v1. You string the chase out as long as you can in the correct part of the map. Your teammates have to do gens and also know how to string the chases along in the right places. That's why those killers are S tier.
I think people just don't accept 1v4 for whatever reason. Just a difference of opinion I guess. I think it's just as fun for 4 survivors to have to coordinate and play well against an utterly oppressive 1v1 killer. Yeah, it can be frustrating when teammates have zero game sense to deal with killers like Nurse or Spirit, but I don't think those killers should be nerfed because of it.
Agreed. I don't think people realize how fast chases have to be if the killer wants a chance at winning against good survivors that are trying to just do the gens and get out. Like chases over 25 seconds are losing you the game and even that's generous. IE how long people want the chases to last is non viable if the survivors are good.
Ideally I'd rather the matches be slowed down so that we can have those long (fun) chases without it costing the killer the game. Rather than the alternative of forcing fast chases (unfun) for the sake of competitiveness.
-
2-2 is a tie for either side.
3k is still a win on killer as all that typically means is they got hatch which you can hardly count as it's just a freebie pity escape and most don't wanna be forced to slug for the 4k.
1k on killer is a loss.
For survivor 3 escapes is a win, 1 escape is a loss.

I mean I’ve been running into a couple more often then not. Most of my spirit matches are the same people with thousands of addons for her and spend thousands of dollars on headphones for spirit.
99% of the Spirits you run into are mind gameable. The Spirits with expensive headphones and where those counter plays don't work is extremely rare. I can't even remember the last Spirit I ran into where I couldn't pull off some mind games on her, it's been months, and I play way more than the average player.
-
And how often does this god tier Spirit show up? Almost never.
-
Other than trying to break LoS as much as possible you literally just randomly wiggle throughout the entire chase guessing when he's gonna shoot and then hope he misses.
This is why people find him very boring to face. He'll win the 1v1 but lose the game, boring for everyone.
-
Generally speaking no, bar a couple killers. Other than a killer like Twins who gets Ruin/Undying defaulted on them from negative synergy with the others, Undying is near never worth taking, it's complete trash now.

Their last nerf was a terrible decision that did nothing to solve their problems. All it did was make them less fun to play and kill off what few Twins players there are. The nerf shows a misunderstanding of what the Twins issues actually are.
The nerf made them more unfun to play as since you're just sitting there doing nothing, it makes them feel sluggish and allows inexperienced survivors get away with things they couldn't anymore. If they want to make victor more punishing if he is crushed, just increase his cool-down.
The Twins actual issues are hook camping and taking Victor hostage. The slugging is not an issue, it has tons of counter play.
That's an easy fix:
- Hook Camping: Replace killer instinct effect by making Drop of Perfume basekit. Rework the add-on to cause the hindered status effect when within range.
- Victor Hostage: Have victor inflict deep wounds to healthy survivors. Then have skill checks pop up that gets more difficult the longer he stays on. Missing a skill check will remove half of the meter and reverse the controls for a split second. However, crush progress is saved and isn't reset upon canceling the action.
I could see that possibly working.

As a solo, it is beyond my control what team mates I get.
Why do I not see games like this almost ever then? Could you have carried them better?
Even then, that admits the issue isn't Hag, it's matchmaking, ranking, and rank reset problems giving you bad teammates in solo queue. Your focus should be on fixing those, not Hag.
