I played Spirit a couple hours straight to see if she's really that good. She's good in chase, I find the hit then phase strategy to be her most effective. Though, she just can't keep up with Hillbilly's capability of ending chases before they even start. She has no instadown mechanics and her movement speed mechanics are limited and require cooldown. I'd put her at maybe 4 or 3 on my list now, but I feel she's getting overestimated. Keep in mind this is base spirit, no add-ons.

Except Billy can be looped, Spirit cannot. Spirit just takes way more skill than Billy to get to where she is crazy strong. I'd also say Spirit is one of the highest mobility killers with her phasing. She can cross the map fast.

  • This is over complicating what Pig needs. She just needs the roar removed or put at the end of the charge and the view point of her crouch raised.

Then maybe a slight improvement on the slow down of the RBTs, but her biggest issue is the crouch/ambush not being viable

    Yes please.

Also we need a more "demon like" spirit. Something with a face like this...

Just Google "japanese demon" that's basically what I'd like. Except instead of a mask it's her actual face.

    I like this as well!

Hi, my name is Gary from the Conspiracy Depot.

I regret to inform you that your shipment of aluminum foil, red string and push pins is going to be delayed.

    Sorry for the inconvenience.

to me it seems only the model of the spirit, nothing more

    I'll still take it lol

  • A creature type killer. I'd like their own rendition of a "werewolf" type killer that leaps through the air and can cling to sides of buildings and trees. Would force survivors to play differently by actually looking up.

  • Tbh she plays almost identical to Legion against high rank players.

  • It could use quite a buff in general as well. Remove the cooldown and make it last at least 10 seconds longer.

  • Yeah it's totally busted, I can't wait for the changes to get here. 4 MoMs, 4 DS's, 4 Adrenalines and 4 DHs/BL/BT's is basically what I'm running into regularly at red ranks. Second chances, upon 3rd chances, upon 4th chances, it's just totally not a fair match at all.

  • Both of these changes are completely meaningless. They do nothing to address the problem whatsoever.

Even without items the SWF are still broken and most of us couldn't care less about extra blood points. We want fun games, not to be rewarded for playing unfun games.

  • Killers don't want to run Ruin, they just have no choice. The devs refuse to slow the survivors down, so until then we're stuck with it. It isn't even good, it's just the best killers have. All the other "slow down" perks are just bad.

  • @NMCKE said:

    @Blueberry

That sounds great, and while we're at it, it should also record the killer's perks so they can see what exactly happened. No NOED? Survivors got greedy. NOED? Survivors were either greedy or the killer isn't viable enough to get a 1:1 ratio before the exit gates were powered.

Basically yeah lol. They also need to not count any game that had even 1 DC in it, another thing skewing the data. Literally 9/10 of my games have at least 1 DC so that definitely is a significant number affecting the data.

I'm not sure why they still haven't seen all these flaws in their data. Maybe it's even intentional because it works as a scapegoat for validating their changes.

I'd rather not be that sinister and hope it's just not realized, but those flaws just seem so obvious to me.

  • @NMCKE said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/487377#Comment_487377

    @Blueberry

Hmm, shouldn't they take the ratio when the exit gates are powered and then take the ratio when the trial ends?

    Example: Wraith

    Exit Gates Powered:

    3 Alive; 1 dead/sacrificed

    Trial Ends:

    4 dead/sacrificed

If you noticed, something is wrong with these statistics because we start at 3 alive and went to 0 alive. This could mean this killer is relying on a perk to be viable such as NOED and he needs buffs.

Yeah hypothetically that is a way we could do it. Not saying it couldn't be done just that it would be tricky with how many factors are going that could lead to easy confusion between correlation and causation in those determinations.

The way you mentioned would probably be the best though even with some minor flaws it would have.

There are some arguments that could be made for them using Blood Warden or Remember Me but not NOED skewing that data. "Generally" though, I would say the killers power should be analyzed at the moment the gates are opened. "Most" the kills after that point are greed, trolling, or NOED. I bet if we looked at all those kill ratios from that point instead the kill rates would be drastically lower. We'd probably see like an average of 1 kill. This would be a lot more accurate in gauging the killers power level than including something stupid like the 4 man snagged at the end where they all dog piled into the basement for that 1 save.

  • I'd actually argue the DC rates are higher at high ranks where their ego's are over the roof. Either way it's an issue though.

  • I'm not seeing this in the discord, please add a link in the original post so everyone on the forums can see it as well.

You’ve made good points, but to clarify:

    • the broken state is the fully infected state.
    • And if survivors knew they were always giving off an aura periodically, wouldn’t this further discourage cleansing? Because how much more vulnerable and risky it would be to do so?

We want conditions that make a cleanse imperative without it feeling risky to survivors, otherwise it’s not attractive for them to do so.

"the broken state is the fully infected state. "

    That is correct.

"And if survivors knew they were always giving off an aura periodically, wouldn’t this further discourage cleansing? Because how much more vulnerable and risky it would be to do so?"

That doesn't make any sense. It would encourage cleansing because they don't want their aura shown. It wouldn't be more vulnerable or risky to cleanse.

"We want conditions that make a cleanse imperative without it feeling risky to survivors, otherwise it’s not attractive for them to do so."

This seems exactly what I've suggested. I still see no real downsides to my idea.

  • The reason he didn't lose a ton of points was because there was at least one survivor within the hook radius. If there wasn't, he would've lost a lot of points. IE he stuck around because he knew someone was there and he was right (or just wanted to be a dick, but at least one person on your team let him get away with it). Also means you didn't punish his camping by doing gens.

  • No.

The Plague needs buffs, not nerfs.

  • Is this your personal list based on your skill with them or how powerful you think they are in general?

If it is a personal list based on your personal skill with them alright that's fair. If it's how powerful you think they actually are in general, then I think you're way off on a lot of these.

I use plague semi regularly and use black incense at every opportunity it becomes available because it’s a ridiculously strong add on. Broken Survivors that then give off the aura when vomiting infect lockers when they hide in them making them easy to spot, and the vomiting can still be heard within a few metres of said locker (useful if Plague is on the other side of a wall). Hiding in lockers to hide an aura is a terrible idea for fully infected survivors to do.

Black incense as a base kit feature would be way too strong, because the pings happen frequently enough to make her tracking almost as good as Freddy.

So even if this forced survivors to more urgently seek out fountains, it’s too easy to follow where they are going and down them at a fountain mid cleanse.

"Broken Survivors that then give off the aura when vomiting infect lockers when they hide in them making them easy to spot, and the vomiting can still be heard within a few metres of said locker (useful if Plague is on the other side of a wall). The key takaway from what I said had nothing to do with hiding in lockers when she's nearby. The infected lockers and hearing them vomiting are just a given. I was referring to when you are cross map.

"Black incense as a base kit feature would be way too strong, because the pings happen frequently enough to make her tracking almost as good as Freddy. "

I don't think it's nearly that strong. I'm also referring to it only working in the broken state, not infected at all times. It's also still quite easily cleansed if they don't want it.

"So even if this forced survivors to more urgently seek out fountains, it’s too easy to follow where they are going and down them at a fountain mid cleanse."

You must be playing at low ranks because this scenario isn't happening against any survivor that isn't just stupid. There are plenty of pallets and windows that they aren't getting caught mid cleanse, that's just ridiculous.

I would go as far as to say that even if she did get my change, she still wouldn't be rank 1 viable. Aura reading isn't nearly as strong as you think it is against competent rank 1 survivors because finding survivors is never the issue in this game. Pallets and windows are still so strong it doesn't mean much.

  • This is the most upvotes I've seen on a post in quite a while. I think a lot of people seem to agree she needs help.

@Peanits @not_Queen @Patricia Is the team aware of her needing some help?

  • All they need to do is up the numbers on it, make it include dead players and not have it affect healing anymore.

  • @Peanits Have yall also been looking at survivor addons and offerings that are underwhelming and rarely used as well? IE like maps, shrouds and luck offerings?

  • I really like this idea way more than even the other ones we thought of. We'd just need to think of a new affect for the current Black Incense.

    Any ideas?

I agree. I feel like the very nature of her power messes with her brutality scores, but also her devious points suffer as well. Throwing up on objects should be at least 100, it would also be cool if the longer a survivor is sick or infected, Plague periodically gets a passive amount of points too.

Here is to hoping we hear more about her soon!

If they’re looking at Leatherface, surely Plague is on the menu right???

Increasing points for how long they were infected for sounds pretty nice!

They upped her bloodpoint gain a little in that hotfix the other day from a bug she had but I can't even tell. Compared to when I play other killers she just gets so few points it feels pitiful.

From the way they talked it seemed Leatherface was on the menu but much further down than some other killers. I'm hoping Plague is right after Freddy and Legion. She's definitely in the lower bracket of killers right now imo which is another reason you rarely ever see her. I mean seriously I see more Clowns than I do Plagues and people think seeing a Clown is rare as hell lol.

  • Basically what Owl said. Theoretically from how players play against Plague she would be one of the best killers to make use of Thanata and even then it's still just weak. There are better perks imo

We don't know that. All we know is that they have no intention of doing anything about disconnects until dedicated servers come out. For all we know, the only thing they'll do is add to what counts as a disconnect and not make the punishing limit any tighter at all.

This is simply incorrect information. It has indeed been stated multiple times that they will be getting stricter once dedicated servers come.

EDIT: I'll even throw you just one example posted by Not_Queen only minutes ago..

"We are continuing to punish DCs after they go over a certain threshold (that's the only thing we can do until Dedicated Servers are live) With the migration to Dedicated Servers, we will bring a new and improved way to handle leavers, which, hopefully, will include immediate punishment (I can't say more on this Design until it is final and approved)"

  • Maybe a couple things I disagreed with but for the most part I agree with almost all of it. Nice post!

Well, before call you dumb, why is imposible?

Did he literally say a new game mode was coming?

I've only heard him say a new game mode would be cool.

  • @Peanits said:

Leatherface is on our radar, but it's a very, very big radar. Killers like Freddy and Legion took priority over him in the past since they were more in need of changes. I can't promise anything just yet, but we have been watching and we've seen your feedback and suggestions.

Do you know if we'll have a new roadmap coming soon?

  • @Peanits said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/489996#Comment_489996

Correct. So if the killer is tunneling everyone they hook, that's not cause for a ban. It's only if they're targeting that one person specifically.

Thank you for the clarification for us.

  • @Peanits said:

If they're targetting one single person over the course of multiple matches, it would be considered targeted harassment and would be reportable. This does not mean "This guy tunnels every match", but rather, "Every time I play against this guy, he tunnels me and only me and then lets the rest of the survivors escape." (Or something along those lines.)

Again, you need to have proof that you're getting intentionally singled out over the course of multiple games.

Ah so the determining factor would be if you're treating that one individual different than everyone else on the team? IE tunneling ONLY him repeatedly.

  • @MasonMyers69 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/489957#Comment_489957

You can't determine if they're trying to ruin the experience or play the game, you could play the game once, get one kill and you could say that one kill has ruined their experience, there is no exact determination if they've ruined the game or not.

Exactly, that's my point. It's not something you could truly determine.

  • The Terms of Service some are referencing is this:

"Targeting specific users repeatedly in order to ruin their game experience"

However my key take away is "in order to ruin their game experience" as this is highly subjective.

If they were toxic in a previous match I am trying to kill them as fast as possible to limit that amount of toxicity coming to me so I am better able to focus on the rest. That is strategic, not the intent to ruin their game experience. Similar to how they describe tbagging and flashlight flicking, it is distracting the killer and getting him unfocused on priorities.

  • I don't see the issue. I keep a mental list of people that were toxic in game or in after chat and I make sure they are dead in any future game I see them. Karma comes around, especially at high ranks where it's a small pool of people.

  • Well we know they are getting much stricter once dedicated servers come so it seems we're just kind of SoL until then unfortunately.

  • @Schwifty said:

I've started playing him since the nerf and have been doing pretty well relative to my efforts on other Killers.

    Is this in red ranks?

  • My dream announcement would be that they are working on large map reworks. Not that they are almost done but just that the maps are being worked on and it's in the process.

  • That would be a terrible change. It would defeat the entire purpose of fixing the hatch standoff.

  • The DC's to give the other survivor the hatch are quite annoying as well as against the games Terms of Service. They don't care though as the ban levels are too forgiving and they know they'll never get punished for it.

  • @Steve0333 said:

I love Freddy's red paint brush. The slight movement penalty doesn't trash it in my opinion. WIth the red paint brush if you put a survivor into dream world it's nearly impossible for the survivor to hide from freddy. I love that I can see their auras whether close or far way. If I take a mori into battle, I make sure I always have my red paint brush to go with it. At least somebody is dying.

I agree about The black box though, it's pretty worthless. Okay I can see where the survivor is to begin the game: furthest generator from where I start (like I didn't already know that.) Maybe start ALL the survivors in dream world. (Even then it's so easy to wake up the benefit of that wouldn't be that great.)

You don't need to hide when it's so easy to wake up.

"If I take a mori into battle, I make sure I always have my red paint brush to go with it. At least somebody is dying."

I'm trying to balance these around a normal match, not a mori.

Are these games where you find it strong at rank 1? At low ranks everything seems strong. At rank 1 even without getting slowed with this addon you are already getting looped to oblivion by competent survivors. I'm trying to make these viable assuming the survivors are intelligent and not low ranks playing stupid.

"Maybe start ALL the survivors in dream world. (Even then it's so easy to wake up the benefit of that wouldn't be that great.)"

That would be interesting. You think that's stronger than the idea I mentioned in my post?

  • @Frozenscum said:

Doctor's Iridescent King could use some buff too, it takes 5 hits to put survivor in all afflictions which is pretty bad. Most of times I put them in T2 just by my static field, and zap them sometimes on loops, so I never use this addon due to some much time I need to waste to make it work at full. Since its Ultra-rare it should put surv in all afflictions with one zap.

Trapper's Ultra-rares are pretty strong, but you trade traps visibility and quantity you carry for it. On big maps they are wasted in a lot of times. They probably should increase number of traps you can carry by 1 as well, but do not stack with each other.

For Doctor's, what if we also added a 50% range on the shock? Similar to his other yellow addon but without the downside and baked in.

You'd still have to shock them a lot, but it would be way easier and more consistent.

  • Agreed. This can be said for a lot of other killers ultra-rares as well.

  • @Yohan said:

    @Blueberry

    What is "boosted" ?

People that are at the high ranks that shouldn't be. They ranked up with a SWF group of higher ranks that carried them.

  • One more point to take note of. Don't get too discouraged if you can't hear them well as the sounds are currently still messed up so normally you'd be able to hear the survivors a lot better than you can right now. The devs noted it in the last stream but it's still being worked on.

1 … 204 205 206 207 208 … 255
