Kinda late on the kill switch, but since you guys are finally clearing things up and making improvements despite all the backlash you guys have gotten.
You devs might also wanna apologize to JocelynAwekens since you kinda threw him in a fire and made things worse for everyone.
-
This has to be one of the worst updates for DBD and their responses to not kill switching Street Wise is so tone deaf when they kill switch for less. It would've honestly been better if they stayed silent about this instead, they sent a messenger to deal with the angry wolves and riled everyone up to start criticizing them with a lot of backlash. The devs can't release a patch without breaking the game with the spaghetti coding the game has, not kill switching a perk that clearly breaks the game with the outcry about it, there's a huge lack of respect for the players here.
Please don't bother asking for "Labor of Love" you devs clearly don't deserve it.
-
I remember that never heard that game before and I thought that collab they did was awesome. Never did played that game other than watching some matches on YouTube which was amazing to watch.
And DBD just made a charm.… such a huge disappointment.
-
Trapper and Skull Merchant easily.
Trapper takes to much time to set up his traps and easily countered. Skull Merchant gutted by the devs and intentionally left in such a horrible state for a full year until her rework some time next year.

am I the only one who hasn’t seen a single bug yet?
If you haven't seen a single big yet is itself a miracle considering the game breaks with a bunch of new bugs with every update.
-
Sometimes it's the other survivors fault letting it happen such as unhooking while the killer is very close by and then hiding like a rat not taking aggro from the killer resulting in a tunnel.

I really hope not. It’s what everyone didn’t want. If they want to keep it sure, but make it a smaller part of the kit.
Idk what the buddy drone does either so I can’t say one way or another.
From the last rework idea of SM the drone buddy follows you kind of like Snug (Hound Masters dog) with a projectile similar to Unknowns, but doesn't bounce. Have to use a stealth drone to tag them with a claw trap and only then you can have your drone buddy fire an explosive EMP dart that will damage the survivor that has a claw trap.
I'm not really sure how to feel about this myself it kind of fits her.
-
Another year until SM rework devs please at c least give her since small buffs to make feel at least playable until then.

Haha thay funny spring trap is huntress 5.0 no wind up time no nerft to speed while winding up and unlimited hatches u get.7 seconds to reaction to dodge a hachet honey if u think that balance that reduclious
Biggest difference between Huntress and SpringTrap is Huntress can rapidly throw several hatches with a near global range and they travel far faster if she's on top of you your dead. SpringTrap only gets one shot with a slow limited range before he can try again with 7-10 second cooldown.
-
Artist i feel needs an overhaul on her add-ons. I can't remember them all, but she only has a few add-ons even worth using while the others feels useless or makes so little difference it feels like it's not making any impact at all. Few months ago in a PTB when the devs decided to nerf her add-ons there was backlash and the most complaints I was seeing was she would have no good add-ons to even use anymore.
-
Trapper find too frustrating with long set up times with traps being easy to shut down.
Skull Merchant 2.0 was her best version that I did enjoyed and she's got some of the best cosmetics in the game imo, but since the gutted her she feels like a pure M1 killer with no power and for all we know her rework is still in the planning phase with Microsoft paint doodles.
-
Artist since she only has a few add-ons that are even worth using and the devs tried to nerf them few months ago only to revert the changes.
-
SpringTrap has a similar problem to Pyramid Head that both of them has never once used any sort of power or ability from their respective games so they have to be given an original power for DBD that fits them. The fire axe being mostly a fan concept as a main choice of weapon might have been a better more simple choice than phantom animatronics that he never had control of. I really prefer the the enchanted fire axe as it has the Entities burn marks all over it possibly indicating that it's a gift from the Entity. Everything else I feel is really spot on.

If you don't mind me turning your question back on you, now that you've had time to dig into his gameplay (I'm glad you're liking him!), is there anything you'd change about the Animatronic?
Have the Purple guy drawing add-on be purple and not blue.

I recently did some custom marches against her with a friend and I have to say, with a bad 3gen, it was basically impossible to beat her with mutiple drones overlapping on one gen. You either waste time disabling the drones over and over or you accept being injured and broken. You have to stragecially play for that 3gen as her though.
But I don't know what she was like before. I rarely encounter her in matches.
You know the scans can't even touch you if your crouching or working on a gen. In that situation just work on the gen and ignore the drones so she won't know someone is there be the best option.
-
And what you know Pixel Bush just uploaded a vid just 30 min ago.
-
Yeah this is unacceptable what the devs did to nerf SM so hard to the point to discourage anyone from playing her ever again. They have a history of trying years to rework or change something so I highly doubt her rework will go through this year all we know is that she's still in a planning phase with Microsoft paint doodles several months later and her past 2 designs they shared were negatively received by the fans. She's a trap/stealth killer not another projectile or dash killer. The past 2 versions they did shared were changes for the worst potentially making her worse than twins or a 3 gen monster again with the controlled drones. The base game gotten a number of changes since then they should just revert her back to her 2.0 state since that was her healthiest state she's been in until a proper rework is made.

Me disagreeing with people isn't me instituting a grand conspiracy im just regularly dumbfounded that people can actively play this game and hold that opinion at the same time
In order to facilitate discussion, what exactly do you like about her? What character fantasy is she supposed to fulfill or portray? What does she do compared to other killers that makes you want to play her?
Genuinely curious what merit other people see in her and I've never gotten a straightforward answer so maybe the BHVR forums can give me one
For me it was simply because she's 1 of 3 area control or trap killers in the game along side Trapper and Hag, but they're all really bad in since way. Trapper too easy to shut down and takes too long to set up his traps, Hag can't chase and SM quick setting up her traps with a large coverage, but was less lethal than the others. Few problems they all have survivors hate playing against them claiming they're too boring so they either gotten nerf in SM case or feel so bad to play as no one gonna want to play as them.
I just never understood how SM was still hated so much in her 2.0 state when that was her best version. Her drones are clearly obvious from across the map with large neo lights going off like fire alarms and people really couldn't figure out how to avoid them? I never had any issues going against her and the proposed changes will potentially ruin her identity and make her into a worse version of twins and becoming a 3 gen monster again if they keep trying to push for active controlled drones.
-
Really getting your answes from Google? Nurse certainly has one of the highest skill floor in the game to be good with, but once you've figured her out her skill ceiling isn't really that high. Just because she's potentially the strongest killer in the game to play against doesn't equal to be the hardest killer to play as.
-
The fog vial is mostly alright with only the iri add-on being a problem and the changes to Knight and Clown are huge red flags that everyone is complaint about.
-
Is there any other killer in the game that gets punished so hard for just using their own power that Knight has? These changes to the banners can't go through.
-
Would making it loose a flat amount of charges be better than continously losing its charges over time?

So is clown
Meanwhile, pyramid head got a severe hit too
How so with Pyramid Head? He seems to gotten an overall positive changes with the add on rework that was long overdue. The BT and haste from cage saves I'll give it a meh.
-
They really nerfed the jailer hard with the banner changes. Was 10 now it's down to 4 seconds making his long chase now worth nothing if his banner shows up so fast. Carnivex having the 10 second banner spawn does nothing if he's saved and only used for pallet breaking. Assassin I guess it's fine losing only 1 second being faster compared to the others.
Really don't like the changes. The add-on that increases the banner spawn is now gonna be a must pick every single game. Why they lowered the banner time spawn again? It's gonna make the guards that are solo chasing on their own when worse and it's just going to encourage double teaming with the killer.
Revert the changes let Carnivex and Jailer both have 10 or even 8 seconds banner spawn and Assassin can stay at 5 seconds.
-
Bucket Head really needed it his add-ons are long over due for a rework having only 2 even worth running.
ClownI'm not sure about. Gonna c have to wait for official patch notes it seems ok, but really depends how much they changing his purple bottles.
-
I never bring in items so I'll give this one a shot.
-
Started since Oni released, seen them all. Hag, Artist and Twins are the most rare for me.

used a lot - but do they massively increase the kill rate of the killer? It's not just a simple "it's used a lot" which is what I'm trying to explain.
Kinda find it a bit hard to believe that based on kill rate and not just pick rates. Most recent proposed changes to Artist add-ons nerfs that got rolled back with the only complaint I've seen to not go through with them was due to her having no other add-ons even worth using. Pyramid Head and maybe a few other killers are in a similar spot with so few add-ons even worth using. And there's Blights busted add-ons that took years to nerf with the constant complaints it was having.
-
There's been lots of others before you with the same complaint and every single time it gets shot down few of them even had a mod response. Slugging for the 4k might be a bit scummy, but it's not a reportable offense or holding the game hostage.
-
A kitsune and a walking corpse.
-
That screen shot appears totally valid why the killer would slug. 2 gens left, 1 dead, the 2 survivors haven't even been hooked once and he's looking for the one on death hook. Seems legit to just leave the 2 slugged since they haven't even been hooked yet.
-
I wanted to complain after some frustrating games I had yesterday, but it's so conflicted idk what to say v other than maybe bad match making.
Playes 4-5 games as SpringTrap gens were flying maybe getting 4-5 hooks and 1 k. Had 1 game with a 3K. Then played 4-5 games as survivor no one seems to be don't gens, kept getting found first sometimes tunneled after getting unhooked and killer gets 3-4 kills with maybe 1-3 gens done.
-
No cooldown? Has to wait 7-10 seconds before he can throw the axe again.
Axe grabs? Overcome and looping easy to deny him or remove it.
Wall hacks cause of axe? Just doing the animation alone will turn off the wall hacksso opens up to mind games.
BS axe? We forgotten about the all the fridge size hachets that Huntress throws?
OP zoning? Artist, Demo, DeathSlinger, Wesker and several others are just as strong or even better given the situation.
-
Finding good advice gonna be incredibly hard to come with a pick rate probably not even 0.5%. I used to rely enjoy her 2.0 version, but haven't touched her since she's been gutted so I can't help other than direct you.
Know "Pixel Bush"? search his YouTube channel he's got a lot of DBD content and turns out SM is his favorite. IDK the exact video, but he has a few good video guides on how to play her current version just have to look a bit. He's the only person I know of that has any legit content about her.
-
Never heard of them.
-
I really doubt think he needs the changes and his zoning is fine. Having the cooldown be any shorter will make him to much like Huntress able the rapidly throw his axe without ever having to reload.
As for the zoning I still can't understand how people claim he's so strong at it when we got other killers that are potentially stronger at zoning given the situation. Huntress, Demo, DeathSlinger, Clown, PyramidHead, Artist, maybe a few others I can't remember.
-
SpringTrap is fine as is. Those 2 haste add ons been nerfed from PTB so they're not that great since survivors also get the haste. Might as well complain about Clown, they're both very strong in a 1v1 chase, but have no potential for snowballing like other killers can. Being faster than Huntress when they have an axe raised is fine he has a 7-10 second cooldown that's short-mid range then becomes a useless M1 killer while Huntress can rapidly throw her hatchets several times.
-
NO, voice coms should never be a forced thing there's plenty of people that just don't like it and it can potentially bring a whole mess of problems. If any it should be a simple system in game like some sort of quick chat with pre built messages and or voice lines.
HellDivers 2 imo has done it best. It does have its own voice coms, but I've never once heard anyone use it cause the characters you play as are already so good calling out their actions to others. Throwing grenade! Hell bomb actived, clear the area! Calling down "object"! I need stims! Reloading! Last reload! etc, etc, etc.

Springtrap can close chases much more quickly and consistently than Ghoul. He makes Ghoul look D tier. The only thing about Ghoul is that it's mostly up to him if he hits you but you have time to get away from his lunge withdrawal.
Close chases with what? SpringTrap maybe B tier at best has no mobility other than the doors and those are fixed teleport location while Ghoul almost S tier has free mobility and gap closing that puts him almost on par with Blight.
-
It has to be a bug or some sort of mistake there's no way that they'll have a killer that can't earn anything in Deviousness. Maybe the update coming Tuesday will fix it.
-
SpringTrap isn't the only killer that can start a chase in 10seconds or less. Throw on lethal pursuer Hill Billy, Blight, Xeno, Vecna, Ghoul maybe a few others with fast mobility are capable of doing it. Having the security doors right there facing a gen is actually a bad thing for ST if you look at the panel and the lights flicker then that's a tell he's coming. It should be about a 4 second head start. Sure he still has bugs that needs to be fixed and once people figure him out better i'm certain he's gonna be around B tier. Just be glad he's no where near Ghoul. Also his add-on Bonnies guitar string might end up getting nerfed since it's clearly his best add-on being blue while Demos, Wraith, and Legion are iri class and they can't teleport to the gen.
-
Disagre, he needs that nerf since he can fly much farther and faster now there has to be a larger window for survivors to have a chance to do something.
-
The killer or survivor offering? Those offerings got reworked with the new survivor spawning rule so double check those offerings. I can't remember what they're called since names got changed.
New base rule all survivors now spawn together at the start of a trail. A survivor can use a offering to be separated from the group at spawn and the killer has an offering that can deny the survivors from separating keeping them together.
-
I never knew that, it's such a subtle thing i bet the majority of the players won't even know that.
-
yeah, this is gonna be one of the more harder achievements to get that entirely dependent on the survivors. Either pray they use it or stand in front of a door and M1 it and hope the survivor gets the idea you want to farm.

Do you have a source for that? The Thing I can understand, due to its only logical power being useless against SWFs. But why Candyman?
Took me forever to find it in all the massive history log i got. Not sure if i should even post it since it's a channel that goes over possible leaks.
CONFIRMED Southeast Asia Killer, Darth Vader in Talks, and Stranger Things News - Dead by Daylight
-Schmuckles, skip to 2:35
It mostly goes over leaks so take everything with a grain of salt, CandyMan being blacklisted was listed with no explanation why. I guess it would be similar to The Thing it's not because of the character itself, but likely because of the actions of the real-world people have done that owns those characters.
-
Those 2 haste add-ons were busted. Poster giving %20 haste to the killer and one survivor was way too much and made it way too easy for the killer to chase and hit someone else that didn't had the haste. The Foxy hook and the others didn't get hit so hard with the nerfs that's what the PTB is for final testing before release.

Because there were players who would slug everyone and then hump their bodies while they slowly bled out. There was nothing they could do to progress the game besides copping a DC penalty. So you can thank those players. And you aren't forced to watch anything, you can progress the game by escorting them out. You still have agency in this scenario.
That is a good thing, but it's becoming a problem of it's own now the instant all 4 survivors are slugged they have the freedom to go next as a convenience time save to jump into the next match while the killer has to stay and clean up the match or the killer just leaves as well so the whole end game gets skipped completely. Maybe If anything, i would suggest making it active after everyone is slugged or dead and 10-30 seconds pass with no one getting hooked.
-
ehhh if you didn't know The Thing and CandyMan are 2 licenses that i know of that DBD decided to blacklist and will likely never be brought into DBD. I don't know the reasons why, but the devs likely have a very good reason why they're excluded.
Also yes keep the killers primarily horror icons.
-
Yes and no, it's been really confusing myself is that I've found that some challenges/tomes mostly the older ones won't get added and it'll be wasted while mostly the newer ones will be added. I haven't figured out which ones can and won't, so I've dropped them all completely until SpringTrap releases.
I recommended claiming a small one first that's worth very little like 15K to test the tome before you grab any of the bigger ones from that tome.
