  • It's probably the best perk for Killers, the Aura reading is nice but the bloodpoint bonus is amazing. It's the only perk I'd consider a Must have in every build.

  • Get fed up as Killer and the game turns into Nintendogs? I for one love the idea 😂

  • Would be a nice change imo but likely not going to happen.

  • The game overall goes too fast in my opinion.

There's a drastic difference in the time it takes for a Killer to complete their objective and a Survivor to get there's done. This can change with different tactics like slugging or camping but if you want to play "Fair" meaning chasing, downing and hooking 4 Survivors 3 different times each then If both sides at an equal level usually the game will favor the Survivors.

There's also the matter of the beginning of the match being skewed in the Survivors favor since they have nothing to do but Generators while the killers is traversing the map, looking for survivors or setting up.

  • I don't know it seems like a decent idea but there's a one issue I see that being It punishes solo survivors much more than SWF. A SWF could just nominate the strongest looper to run the killer and end the start up while solo have to either just work on the gens or multiple people end up running towards the killer.

I don't think it'll fix gen times tho, There's plenty of games where you find a survivor quick enough but gens still get done easily thanks to strong loops side by side being able to waste the killers time. It's better than nothing though.

  • It's a must for me on every Killer, The default FOV is just too small after getting used to shadowborn.

  • Doc was a very weak Killer, He's now Probably Mid-tier so it was a big buff overall.

  • Shame those stats didn't consider ranks too :(

Also would be nice to know the dates which the stats were taken since a Free weekend or something similar would impact that a fair bit i'd think.

Handpicking sexualities just seems like a waste of time :/

It's just like the Nurse having had a husband. If the lore keeps expanding showing parts of characters lives those kinds of relationships are going to become known.

  • Why would it be simple to make everyone straight? What's so difficult to grasp about being Gay? 😅

  • Can't blame the Killers, Early game is too in the survivors favor right now so Killers now have to use scummy tactics to try balance that.

DC's still have no punishment so they're here to stay until the devs can fix the DC penalty causing crashes, which could be god knows how long.

The games in a pretty bad way, I don't think any side is happy right now.

  • I bet It's two things, A lack of Killers playing since a lot are finding Killer too stressful now when 2 gens can pop right of the bat thanks to the ruin nerf making early game skewed into the survivors favor.

The other is probably Matchmaking, Either the game can't find red rank killers in a good time and is matching you with the next best thing being lower ranks or the Devs are messing with it again to try speed up que times since that's a major complaint right now.

  • I remember a Dev saying that Sexuality was purposefully left out of Character lore to help people project themselves onto the characters.

This was long before the rift and expanding Lore so who knows, Let's hope we get a confirmation or new Survivor/Killer who is because let's face it, Unless It's teased or stated then It's automatically assumed a Character's straight.

Also for anyone saying it shouldn't matter and who cares. Firstly, Inclusion is important. Secondly being LGBT has huge influences on someone, it's a pretty big deal of someones backstory. So if we do get some Lore It'd be nice to know.

  • The only threat a Doc has is his shock at loops preventing you from dropping a pallet or vaulting, Considering how difficult it is to accurately pull off he's far from OP.

Anything else is just anti-immersion location reveals and a very slight slow down with snapping out of it like he's always had.

Its sad how behavior barely messes around with base killer stats, Like who no killer that inherently recovers from stun a bit faster then the average? Nothing to do with power, just part of the killer.

Or a killer whos pick up and move speed is faster then average.

I'd love this too, It'd make killers a lot more unique and probably make some killers get more use out of less used perks.

My Guess is they want constancy plus with all the perks in game it'd probably be too much to balance for them.

  • Too bad we wont even be able to tell since they want to Hide it for no good reason.

  • Personally, I find her very unfun to play as.

The constant self stuns paired with slow movement speed are painful to deal with and missing blinks can be very frustrating. There's just no reason to play her when I can play a more fun killer with less stress/effort.

  • The Game would've died long ago if there was no SWF.

The problem isn't SWF the problem is the refusal to balance for it on the Devs part, I main Killer but even I can tell Solo needs a buff to bridge the gap.

A Huge step they could even just test in a PTB would be to add Kindred to basekit for survivors so Solo players don't have such a hard time. It'd fix so many issues a big one being camping.

After that all they'd need to do is buff Killers accordingly to the new level of information sharing in the games.

  • Solo is a pain but I personally don't do that.

These kind of frustrations are even more reason why Kindred should be basekit. If itt was most these scenarios wouldn't be a problem and camping would be a non-issue.

I seriously don't understand why the Devs balance the game the way they do. Kindred needs to be base kit to bridge the gap between SWF and Solo.

  • They're really going to have to give us a clear run down on what is considered good and bad with the new system.

but It's the Hidden part that really gets me, The only reason I can think of is that they don't want us to see if we get fair games or not.

  • Because we all know the previous matchmaking/Ranking has been terrible and now with these changes and them choosing to hide the "Skill Level" Rating means we wont be able to tell if we were matched fairly in a match anymore.

  • It makes sense since rank will mean nothing with the changes.

Let's just hope they show each players "Skill Level" as replacement so we actually can tell we're being matched with people on the same level and not just have to trust it.

  • Makes sense I guess but this new Skill level should be shown as replacement.

Otherwise how are we to know the Game is actually putting us together with people of the same level?

  • The Stats at least the ones we were given are useless.

Unless the Devs look much deeper they wont mean a thing, There's just too many variables to games to warrant taking the Stats seriously. As well there's the huge issue of ranking and matchmaking in general, People generally aren't facing people of the same skill levels, The way the matchmaking and ranking system makes it a toss up - If you want clear results you'd need to fix that first and foremost.

  • I personally use

Shadowborn - You can replace this for whatever perk you like, I just can't go back to the old FOV after using it for so long.

Stridor - Once you get used to the new sounds and judging the distance it's a Must have in my opinion because it helps when a Survivor has Iron Will that would usually be a problem.

Sloppy - Helps with Slowing the game down a slight bit but It's biggest benefit comes from Survivors who don't heal who you can hear very clearly with Stridor.

Thana - Paired with Sloppy to keep people injured for as long as possible, If they don't heal which is what you want then you also get to slow down Gens a little.

You could use Nurse's instead of Shadowborn if you want. Basically anything that slows down or helps you keep people Injured since that's when a Spirit is scariest.

  • I couldn't agree more. I've said it for the longest time. The Biggest Issue in this game is the Matchmaking and Ranking.

The Game has a lot of Varied skill levels in the player base but the system doesn't work at putting them together. Instead you get consistent games where people have vastly differing skill levels and the game gets skewed.

I guarantee if they just fixed the Matchmaking and made Rank actually compare to ones skill level the game would be in a much better place and you'd have a lot, and I mean a lot less complaints about Balance.

Sadly I don't think this is going to happen anytime soon if at all, Unless they dedicate a huge time to revamp the system but personally I think they'd rather have quicker ques.

  • Please Don't give them any Ideas, Every Killer and reworked Killer since Clown (9 total) have all had power gauges. I think we have enough.

  • I've given up on any hope that Matchmaking will be fixed.

It fixes for a short time and brakes again over and over and over. I guess the Devs don't want long ques but my god the games can be miserable when you put people with vastly different skill levels against eachother.

  • When the most boring part of the game for both sides becomes Meta (or at least Popularized) you know there's a huge problem.

  • Solo is a pain, If Kindred was base kit it'd solve a big chunk of the problem but sadly don't see that happening.

  • Honestly It's something almost everyone has asked for, I don't think it'll ever come tho since they'd have to change a lot and the Devs are kind notoriously slow at big changes plus they don't really seem to have much spare time nowadays just looking at the past year alone.

  • I did, Toxicity thrives in this game it's so off putting.

  • Noed is a much better time saver compared to new Ruin.

If Noed is Denied that's about a Gens worth of time they were on totems and if not and gens get finished too fast for you then you get a safety net. It's a win / win.

  • I'll give you perk tiers considering how insanely long it is to max out a character because of them but making BP purchasable would be a bad move Imo.

  • It's Simple, Base Gen times are okay but Survivors are allowed to stack perks and toolboxes making games go much much quicker, There's other issues like Map design and slow start up killers but Gens being able to be sped up at an already semi-quick pace at base is the main issue in my opinion.

Especially when the Devs have stated they are against Slow downs for Killers. Just think back to the Thana Buff we got in a PTB but didn't go live, Or the fact that when asked why plauges sickness had no debuffs the same answer was given.

Having one side have multiple ways to speed up the game while the other has very little to slow it down just doesn't work.

  • I'm just going to put my two cents in here, When talking about Solo then the killers have the upper hand but then you have to recognize the huge advantages a SWF Squad has, The Best Survivors in a SWF will almost always beat the Best Killer simply because of the communication advantage.

The game was never intended to have voice coms and was built with that in mind. SWF essentially brakes the game and gives survivors enough information to know what's going on on the map at all times.

Yes the Stats say other things but there's also a whole lot of variables in those Stats to the point where they're almost useless to draw any conclusions from. Hopefully the devs release more in depth and accurate stats in the future.

I will say another huge problem and in my eyes the biggest problem is Matchmaking, The Matchmaking and rank system isn't that well done. If people were matched constantly with people of the same skill level I guarantee the game would be in a much better place but as you have it now someone with 1000 hours can go against someone with 50 and it's considered fair because they've played long enough to reach red ranks. I really think hours played and devotion should be considered in matchmaking.

  • Ruin was a band aid fix to a much bigger issue. I like that they had the idea to change it however, What I don't like is that they changed it without acknowledging the initial issue that caused ruin to be a must have perk.

  • Yikes and I thought removing ranks from lobbies was shady.

It's pretty obvious they're matchmaking is and has been pretty terrible but instead of fixing it they choose to hide it so we can't see the problem.. These Devs.. wow.

  • Time to use NOED as a slow down perk, buy me a generators worth of time if they cleanse totems or the insta downs. A Win-win in my eyes and much more reliable than Ruin.

  • Ehh It has potential to work but realistically, Ruin being a Hex perk it's not going to last long at all especially once survivors know what you're doing. Then you've wasted two perk slots on a gimmick that no longer works.

There's nothing that warrents running new ruin, It's very high risk for a sub-par reward.

  • I find it shocking that they decide to nerf Ruin while not addressing the glaring issue that caused ruin to be over used, Gen times.

That time spent searching for the first survivor is vital, Without ruin you have no pressure and it's safe to just start working on gens from the get go...

  • It goes up with every DC in a time frame.

DC penalties should have been in the game from the beginning like every other online multiplayer. It's insane how long DC's have been a problem, Let's hope they role out the dc penalty pretty swiftly because it's getting difficult to get full matches with how many people DC on their first down.

  • Wraith is a pretty bland killer to be honest, Far from overpowered. He's probably the most add on dependent killer there is and relies heavily on the rarer side.

I Love wraith but unless you're running his best add ons he's middle of the road.

  • To be fair with all the bad, and there's been a good chunk this year, The whole Ash thing and MoM made me quit the game for a while, It just put a bad taste in my mouth they were either that oblivious to original MoM or did it to sell Ash but anyways there was also some good.

We got the End Game collapse, Closing Hatch for Killer, DC Penalties (Kind of), a Change to SWF Matchmaking to make it more fair, Two Perks in Bloodwebs to lessen the grind and probably some more I'm forgetting.

  • This is the whole point of Hex Perks, they're strong but easily taken out. A Gamble to run.

If you make a Hex perk weak then what would even be the point of running it?

  • @konchok said:

I literally started to play pig yesterday. It took me 2 days to go from rank 20 to rank 10. Now, to be fair I really like the pig and the build that I've got on her. But give me a break if you think that playing killer is hard.

20-10 Is generally where killers do best, Wait until high ranks where you get some competent survivors and SWF.

Nothing in this game is exactly easy unless you're talking about the obviously unbalanced things like SWF, Keys or Mori's.

  • I don't mind nurse getting a Nerf, It was needed but what It don't like its that it made an already difficult killer with a high skill cap even more unfun to play.

This has nothing to do with Balance just that in my opinion punishing a missed attack that heavily while adding in more counter play (Her appearing before the killer has arrived) just made her stale to play.

I'd rather they rework nurse's teleport to be honest, The game is 99% about looping and her mechanics are fundamentally broken.

  • I don't get the Devs sometimes, They say over and over again that SWF isn't as strong as people think and most are just casual then why is this such an issue? SWF in coms already have base kindred so giving it to solo players wouldn't change that much.

Kindred being base kit is one of the best solutions to bridging the gap between solo and SWF, Then all you'd need to do is buff the killers a little to compensate.

Honestly I don't think it's ever going to happen anymore, It just seems like the Devs don't want to take on that load.

  • I feel like there's way too many variables too make a conclusion that the changes where a buff.

Did the play rate go down so people who were better at legion continuing to play him bumped the numbers? Or maybe the drastically different time frames the averages came from has something to do with it? Then there's the new rank reset and how that might effect stats.

Realistically we'd need very specific stats to draw concrete conclusions from.

  • Good lord, the amount of complaints about a DC timeout just shows how ingrained it was with some people.

Almost every online game has this system and so should DBD, If you want to ruin the game for the other players you get a timeout.

Don't find a killer fun? Too bad. You shouldn't be able to choose what you do and don't play against in a PVP.
