Ehhh I think there's enough second chances in the game.
If you played to the point were you were all slugged then it's kind of your own fault. If it's a continuous problem for you then you have the option there to bring unbreakable and get that second chance as a perk already.
-
At this point I'm pretty certain It's never going to happen. It's been years.
They know the solution of buffing solo and killers and have said they want to do it for the longest time now but nothing beyond that.
-
They said they want to buff solo to the level of SWF and then buff killers to accommodate but they haven't really done much to back it up. I wouldn't expect any changes anytime soon.
-
I always try to get it out of the way in early game. Even if I try avoid tunneling, It ends up happening anyway so now I Just outright tunnel to get rid of it because if it lasts till end game it's incredibly strong.

It's neat on paper, but then you'd run into the issue of people immediately opening the gate at the start of the match to force not only themselves, but everyone in the match to derank.
That's already an Issue for Killers tho If a survivor DCs or gives up on the hook. You could always Just make it so if a Killer opens the gates before all generators have been repaired it's an automatic safety pip for Survivors.
-
Killers don't really have a give up option other than to DC, If you don't want to DC you're forced to wait it out however long that might be. I don't know why the gates can't be opened at any time, I don't see a downside to it.
-
Clown needs a rework, His power is almost non existant Just look at Freddy he has a similar power with his traps which don't have a reload, they're pre-set up and don't have to be thrown in the moment and then he has other powers ontop of that with the dream state and gen teleport. The difference is staggering.
Cannibal I think either needs major buffs or again a rework, I'm afraid if he gets buffs he'll just be a very strong camping killer which might cause some issues.
Wraith is the most add on dependent killer in my opinion, I think at the very least he needs windstorm in his basekit. Attacking out of cloak would be a big enough buff too to make him viable at red ranks.
-
It's a toss up.
Nurse if you're good with her will always be the strongest but Freddy can handle pretty much anything, He's very easy to play All you have to do is spam your traps at loops. Spirit is a good choice too but not as easy as Freddy in my opinion.
-
I doubt they wanted that.
Her power still is very strong that's not the problem with nurse, the problem is that She's unfun to play, You can tell this because even pre nerf not many people would play her even though she was by far the strongest killer in the game. Post nerf she's just miserable, still strong but very unfun.
This is just a design issue, I feel like nurse needs a rework. Her power of teleporting trough objects makes her strong by default in order to balance this she needed some negatives but sadly the negatives impact the fun of playing her greatly. You're slow, You're constantly going to be stunned, Looking at the ground and having your screen go dark, and if You miss a blink your heavily punished.
I hope that's not the last nurse update we see because right now she's in a pretty bad spot in my opinion, Survivors still don't like her and anyone who isn't great with her definitely doesn't like her either.
-
Sadly this Game is a cesspool for toxicity that combined with it being a competitive nature game with some glaring balance issues means you either have to live with it and try to ignore or stop playing. I'm not saying every match is going to be toxic just that It can easily go that way which is upsetting.
I wish the Devs would crack down on the toxicity and start handing out even very small bans to repeat offenders. But then again it's so ingrained that I don't know if it'd make a difference.
-
I Honestly think that the main issue with DS is the Timer, a full minute of immunity is just too much. I think reducing it to 40 seconds would be the best option over a complete rework. at least then it's still useful against tunneling but not so much that you feel invincible while also being long enough that slugging isn't exactly ideal either.
-
Now do the same consistently...
One match doesn't prove anything for either side about anything.

I’m confused. How is giving up the “lesser of evils” just giving up means they aren’t helping anyone or doing anything either. It’s pretty much the same thing. so why not just let them dc if they want.
im just struggling to see what the difference is between ruining it For everyone by dc’ing over just giving up.
It gives the killer the hook and gives the survivors some time while the killers busy hooking that person, It's a small difference but it's something.
If we just let people DC we'd go back to square one. The Reason the penalty was implemented was because people were DCing left and right with no consequence. People are always going to find a way around the penalty but the fact that it's there is enough to discourage others.
Again, I never said Giving up wasn't bad, It still ruins the game
-
Majority of maps have issues for me but Loops and Balance issues aside, I'd choose all the Farm Maps.
Farm Maps give me a headache, Everything blends together in a mustard hue that's horrible to look at and then as Killer you have a face full of corn for 70% of the match.
I really wish they'd change the lighting on them and reduce the corn stalks or space them out so you can see trough them.

i’m sorry what? You’re ok with people just giving up but not dc’ing because dc’ing ruins the game for everyone?
isnt just giving up ruining it for everyone also? What’s the difference?
Never said I'm okay with it but realistically there's no way around people leaving the game when they want to, Giving up on hook is the lesser of the evils.

yeah I had the basement bug happen to me
and for some reason killer called me a hacker after I finally died, no idea what happened to him!
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1135383#Comment_1135383
you cant really force someone to play a game they dont enjoy, people still give up on hooks, I find it useless
True but it's an online multiplayer, DC penalties come with the territory and should've been in the game from the beginning. If you DC you ruin the game for 4 other players. That kind of behavior needs a punishment. At least now players will give up instead of outright leaving.
-
A Small price to pay. Games crash, It happens but not so regularly that this should be a problem. It's a once of thing, I'd rather on the very slight occasion have this happen then go back to the DC epidemic.
-
Didn't they take those stats from all ranks? Meaning It included all those new players and people coming from Free to play weekends where the number of players sky rockets who have no idea what perks are good/bad? If that's the case then of course the results would look odd.
Just think how often you see a match with no obsession, 9 times out of 10 someone is using DS. If I had to guess It'd be the most popular perk in red ranks. I really wish they'd separate stats like this for each colour rank.
-
Doesn't matter if he had a good average Kills or not that's not the point. The Point is that Matchmaking is putting him against higher ranks which isn't fair. You can still 4k while having a Miserable time.
I don't get why people think getting a Kill means it's balanced, There's so much more to it than that.
-
Uhhh I don't see the logic in this at all.
A very basic level of communication throughout the match has drastic differences on the outcome. You don't need a degree in communication to just say "Killers chasing me", "He's Camping", "It's safe to go for the save"...
This is all stuff anyone would say in coms even if they aren't taking the game that seriously.
The game was built from the beginning around no communication of course It's going to be busted when your able to relay everything that's happening on a map to the team.
-
Matchmaking is the biggest problem in the game in my opinion. The fact that this happens so regularly and for such a long time over and over again is shocking. This is just going to force even more KIllers from the game if they're constantly being matched with people way above their level.
Imagine if the game were to actually match you with people on the same skill level which is supposedly what the new system will do but the fact they want to hide ranks and possibly not show MMR either just makes me think the devs want to get rid of que times more and then hide any reason someone would have to complain.
-
This stuff Happens, The games not going on constantly crash tho unless It's a problem with your system, even than that'd be on you and not the game.
Removing the first few DCs would just give people a free pass to DC which is what the whole system is in place to try and prevent.
-
With great difficulty, Seriously don't understand how we're nearly at the next chapter and that maps lighting hasn't been fixed.
-
You Can't punish players for wanting to play with their friends, That's just not appealing to anyone.
What needs to be done and something they've danced around for years now is to just Buff solo survivor for example by making kindred basekit and then Buff killers to accommodate, That way there wouldn't be such a drastic difference in SWF vs Solo games.
This would take a lot of work and knowing how slow the Devs can be I honestly don't see this coming especially since it's been suggested over and over.

Absolute bullshit. I play both sides of the game and I have seen it a handful of times ever.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1110805#Comment_1110805
They pretty much have been removed. They do next to nothing. We all knew they would get reduced because people who only play killer kept crying about them but the level that they have been nerfed to is beyond a joke. If a nerf of that magnitude happened to a killer's ability or add ons there would be endless tears on here about how the game was ruined. Look what happened when ruin got changed.
You really think old toolboxes had a place in the game considering how fast matches have been going since the ruin nerf? The Devs should've done both at the same time in my opinion, I for one am happy with the ruin nerf because it's getting rid of a bandaid fix to fast games, the toolbox nerf was inevitable after the changes to ruin. Would you rather longer gen times instead?

Makes sense when you consider the absolute ridiculous size of the survivor hitbox. The head area is like 5 heads wide. This is from the recent dev stream btw. I'm all for simplicity but the size of these hitboxes needs to be reshaped/reduced. This coupled with latency ensures you're gonna have a bad time.
Hitbox size is fine, If you were to have accurate hit boxes where the weapon actually hs to touch the survivors model it'd be incredibly hard to get hits You'd need to rework the game. The problem is Latency.
-
Not useless but they have less of an impact now, It was needed. Even without toolboxes you can finish gens incredibly fast, Better them nerfed than removed entirely.
-
I think like all chapters there'll be a Spike in players but it'll drop back down afterwards. The Game's been pretty steady for years now not really gaining nor loosing that Average players, Atleast on PC.
Personally I'm not a fan of the chapter it just doesn;t appeal to me it being a shooter and cowboy theme, I don't know how many others feel that way tho.
-
Killers get add ons eaiser yes but majority of killers don't get great use out of most of them. Just take wraith for example, He needs windstorm add ons and gets little use out of a lot of his other ones.
If Killers weren't add on dependent I'd agree but so many of them are whereas survivors can do a great job with just perks and items with the add ons are just a bonus.
It's already so easy to hoard items as a survivor and now with the item change you'll be swimming in items, just go for the add ons in the bloodweb instead of items.
There'll be no variety if all people do is bring the same strongest items and add ons every game because they don;t loose them. Use strong item, Escape, Keep item and add ons, Use BP to buy more of said items and add ons. You'd rarely run out.
-
I think that's an issue with low settings?
That or there's a day and night time variation because I've seen people playing on both dark and bright as day maps.
-
Killer wise I don't see them getting much use, The Hex perk might work with Haunted grounds but two perk slots for a one time thing might not be worth.
Survivors got a good bunch this time round, With survivor you're more free to experiment with builds so some of these could be used well with others.
The Hook one is good especially for solo players, It's a free heal of the hook if you play it right.
Red herring is basically pebble 2.0, Not the best but might be able to get you out of a bad situation if the killer falls for it.
For the People has potential to be very strong with a SWF. an Instant health state to give to another player could be the difference between a killer getting a kill and having to start a new chase.
-
If you'r DCing then you're ruining the game for everyone else. Why is it so hard to grasp that that needs to be punished? If you really want to DC go ahead but take the punishment you earned.
You could always just let the killer get you and die on hook too if your that desperate to leave a match.
If you are talking about crashing and If your crashing that consistently, That's a you problem and not the game. Get a better system and/or internet.
-
Sorry this is a bad Idea.
DCing should be peanalized from the very first one. That's why the system gives u a lesser timer on the Earlier DCs. If you really needed to DC for a situation outside the game you'll be back just as the timer is up. If not just listen to a song or something 5 minutes is nothing.
Gving people the option to "forfeit" would be the same thing, You need DC penalties in any online multiplayer game because one person leaving a game ruins it for the other 4 remaining. DC if you want but expecting no Punishment is ridiculous.
-
This could happen at any moment in any game if plague has a fountain available.
As soon as you hear the ding you should spread out, plague's power is like leather face's chainsaw, you never want to be huddled together when they use it.
The counter is just to spread out and play cautiously while she's powered up.
-
It's not all walls.... I don't get why you're freaking out. It's not going to change much in my opinion.
It's most likely going to be walls with strong loops to make them more fair and give killers a way to counter the loop while also giving the survivor time to get away while the killers breaking it.
The others are probably like when you complete a gen in Meat plant and the room opens up, That's it.
-
It'll only be some designated walls, not every wall. My guess is they'll be put at strong loops to give killers a way to deal with them. and then open up pathways like when you complete a gen in the Meat plant
-
We'll have to wait and see, It'd be a nice buff to franklin's considering how it's going to be even easier to hoard items now.
-
I think it'd be better if the Devs focused on turning the game away from Slugging. As unfun as it is to sit on the ground helplessly, Right now with how the game is Slugging is just the way to go.
The ruin nerf really showed a huge flaw in their plans. They did a big change to the game taking away early game pressure from most the Killers and didn't considering the outcome or thought very little of it. Anyone could've told you that this would mean quicker games which also means killers having to slug/camp and play dirty to combat it.
If the Games didn't go so fast there wouldn't be a need to slug or tunnel, some would still do it but you can see online killers that normally wouldn't are starting to.
Your proposal would just give another way to DC from a match without penalty, This Idea of "don't like this match, Onto the next" is what brought on the penalty int he first place.
-
Does seem very fishy too me, I'd report it anyways so it gets looked at.
-
Sorry but Games are just too Fast now and Noed at it's worst when it gets destroyed adds almost a Generator worth of time and at best when it's still up gives you a shot in end game (which is survivor sided) if gens go too fast for you to do anything about.
-
It's pretty bad, but have you seen Kate's Paper Mache pigtails? 😂

As of now, this is funny. 😜
I was honestly shocked, Eating my words now 😅
-
5 seems good, not too long but not short enough that people would brush it off.
-
It's an online Multiplayer, DC penalties should've been in it from the beginning.
One person DCing ruins the game for 4 other players. If you're not having fun then DC but don't expect that you're actions wont have consequences considering it effects the game for everyone else.
If you actually have to leave the game the penalty shouldn't be that bad since you wont be doing it often. If you're intentionally DCing to the point where the Time gate is an issue then you deserve to wait every second of it.
-
There isn't any disadvantage to SWF, A commed SWF have the potential of knowing almost all the information of everything happening on the Map. As well they can coordinate plays and perks to their advantage, yes.
You're beating a dead horse, everyone knows all of this already the Devs included.
-
Get used to it tbh, Happens pretty regularly since there's no DC punishment. It's on the way but nobody knows how long.
-
Honestly the gates should just be able to be opened by the Killer from the start, Survivors can give up and move on but as Killer you're forced to play trough till the end.
-
Highly doubt it, Anything Spirit, Nurse, Hillbilly level would get nerfed right away.
The closest we've got is Freddy's rework, He's pretty effective and fairly easy to play.
-
I doubt anyone is questioning weather a business should make money.
It's more so about how much is too much in terms of monetization on an already pay to play game. We'll never know the numbers but let's not pretend that DBD isn't an insanely popular game that's done very well for itself.
-
Gameplay wise nothing drastic is going to change, The base game has stayed the same for Years. End Game collapse was the biggest recent change to the game but it didn't change much just added a timer to leave the trial.
What keeps the game from dying is the RNG factor to the trials making each unique and the DLC releases bringing in a new Killer and Perks to help spice things up.
It's not for everybody and I can definitely see how you could find it stale after playing for a while.
