Generally don't like playing against her. I haven't grasped how to loop or avoid her effectively. It also doesn't help that a huge majority of Huntress players I go against are heavy tunneled and campers which, while are fair strategies, suck to be on the receiving end of.
I run into more camping Huntresses than camping Bubbas.
-
Any time I have a bad game playing Nemesid I was wishing I was playing Pyramid Head.
Nemmy is fun but there is no greater feeling for me in this game than landing those insane Punishment shots or getting the better of a Survivor and hitting them for trying to juke me.

Can you please start working with balancing team in BHVR?
Would be really nice to have a rep of the balance team actively on her forum

Random totem spawn sucks the most of all of them. Nobody wants to see their "powerful" Hex totem cleansed seconds into the game.
I'll also throw in another issue - you can't tell which is which. Some hexes want to be cleansed i.e Haunted Grounds, Retribution, but if you run these perks with other hex totems like Ruin then it suddenly becomes harder to know which totem you need to actually defend

NO. You can't keep getting away with it! Repent NOW.

A fine example. More killer beans should be like you.

That's kinda funny lol
They don't care how I feel, so why should I care about how they feel? :P
It plays to Conehead's strengths. Hook, cage, then hook again. It's not my fault if I want to play the Killer at his fullest when I know the Survivors aren't going to give me an inch regardless.

You were entitled to the hatch and to defend your totems. Well done!
However, tunneling with Pyramid Head is frustrating for many. I recommend just having a meme game every now and then if you don't already.

Toxic SWFs deserve to receive justice. You are essentially a Paladin in the community. Congratulations on the coffee and bloodpoints, that's a good day.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2666392#Comment_2666392
....You played the same guy four times? From the community? After banning him? There's more to this story.
Do the Survivors care if I am frustrated? Never....they reap the seeds they sow.
-
To back this up: I just had a match on Groaning Storehouse where I go all the way to the other end of the map to check on a totem because I thought it might've been Ruin. It actually wasn't Ruin, it was one of my Haunted Ground totems.
I didn't see anyone in the trial for like a full 3 minutes to start with.
-
Yes. Plenty of times. Some survivors will be salty over anything.
-
I tunnel with Pyramid Head since it plays to the strength of the Killer.
I think it's perfectly fine to tunnel you if I catch you doing my totem.
I once caught a slugged Elodie on the hatch, picked her up, threw her down a bit away from it and then closed it in her face when she tried to crawl back to it. I was really mad that match.

Ruin makes the game feel really easy or it gets broken in the start of the match. It's not rewarding or fun to use because of how passive it is in nature. The only thing I have to do with ruin is chase people off of gens and keep up pressure. It's very useful but I like a little more challenge in my matches. Ruin is a crutch especially with some of the ruin dedicated builds you can use. And I just don't feel good using that.
But I also don't see people use ruin correctly. There's been many matches where the killer will commit to one person the whole game and then tell my team that we're gen rushers. If you want ruin value you need to learn a very basic killer tactic, pick your chases wisely.
Most people run Ruin/Undying and Ruin/Pop but lately I've been running Ruin to bait Survivors into breaking Haunted Grounds to a most enjoyable success as of late.

Getting some pretty creative ideas here! Maybe BHVR will add them? Haha just kidding....unless.....

Sorrows of the Endless Mire
Once per game, you may activate all your remaining traps simultaneously, summoning a mud phantasm at their location. These phantasms will run at 115% speed towards the nearest survivor or generator and attack. If they hit a generator first, they strike it, causing 5% regression. If they hit a survivor, they are placed into the injured state and suffer the Broken status effect for 20 seconds. Mud phantasms last for 15 seconds or until they attack once.
I really like the name!
I called Pyramid Head's a simple "Otherworld Transition" but maybe I should have named Nemesis's rocket launcher power "Advanced Armaments"
-
This is literally just the opposite of the pity party crowd lol
-
The simplest solution to t-bagging is to just attach a status effect to it where crouching and standing rapidly induces Hindered or something like that.
-
Because Killers are just an asset for the Survivor experience

It shows that putting equal skill survivors against equal skill killer, is actually hilariously unfair on the killers side.
Killer REQUIRES some level of chaos to the survivors matchmaking, bad players need to be mixed in with the good to balance the playing field.
Keeping the MMR will require several survivor nerfs or outright perk removal in a ranked setting to lessen the insane burden put on a Killer when playing.
Honestly it might just be overall better to make a non-ranked queue

If you're feeling stressed, that's when you know you're taking a game too seriously. I'm clueless on how a bunch of pixels on your screen moving about can make you feel that way. Take the game as what it is - a game - and you'll start to have fun. This isn't a job, or a hobby or something you're obliged to play - it's a game.
Games aren't a hobby? Think I have to disagree there. People typically feel emotions, including stress, when they're passionate about something, including their hobbies. I don't get as stressed out as I used to since I stopped taking it as seriously, but I'd still like to have a fun time more often than not and, more often than not, I am putting effort into just staying not stressed.
Maybe your cluelessness comes from a lack of ability to see things as others see them?

I like playing Pyramid Head. He is one of my favorite horror monsters (second only to the Xenomorph) and Dead by Daylight gives me the opportunity to play him as an actual monster.

I havent seen a ghostface in a month.
What region of the world are you in? I'm sure it varies based on that.
East Coast US Ghostface is pretty popular.
-
Mostly Legion, Doctor and Ghostface. I think I get a good variety of killers.

@StarLost said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/288887/this-game-needs-to-be-buried-and-forgotten
Woof.
Okay, going point by point:
- Wraith was 'B' tier before his nerf. Now he is hot garbage.
- Freddy's lunge is the same as any other killer. He's smaller, so it looks longer.
- Ghostface can be revealed. What?
- Are you really complaining about Myers?
- That's Billy, not Bubba. Just dodge him.
- Clown is one of the weakest killers in the game. As is Trickster.
- Hag is strong, but vulnerable to healing. Figure out her zone, when she hits you just run away and heal. If you keep running through her 'zone', you are going to struggle. She's also vanishingly rare - you are unlikely to see her until you start playing at a very high MMR and even then, you'll find maybe one or two in a 'season'. I've literally only ever gone up against her once, and we crushed her.
- Cenobite is the furthest thing from OP.
- BHVR have already said that they are adding a feature to discourage facecamping. Proxy camping, tunneling and the like are how the game is meant to be played.
- This game is absolutely not killer sided.
Look, OP. It sounds like you had a few bad games. But these are all issues that, with a bit of experience, will mostly vanish. Rather focusing on 'the entire roster of killers is OP because they can actually kill survivors when played right', focus on what you can do to play better.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2653707#Comment_2653707
Sure.
Cenobite, Wraith and Slinger were solidly 'B' tier, but got nerfed to the ground within months.
Stuff like OoO and DS took years to get minor nerfs.
There are still actual infinites in the game. These have never been fixed.
More than half the maps are moderately to strongly survivor favored.
Dead Hard was a strong perk, but got 'fixed' (see: buffed) and now is overwhelmingly strong.
Killers that do well at the low end are nerfed with no regard for their performance at intermediate/high MMR, but killers that struggle at the low end don't get buffs.
There are still tons of bugs that make life hard for killer, but will likely never be fixed (validation bugs, survivors can't be picked up in certain places, killer powers/addons not working correctly etc.)
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2653720#Comment_2653720
Every time someone complains that BHVR are 'killer sided' and then post-hoc claiming that they play a lot of killer, I always imagine Elmer Fudd in a bunny costume.
What infinites still exist in the game? I'm not super familiar with all the maps. Haddonfield houses probably have some right?

The game is frustrating by design. Once you understand the deck is stacked just going with the flow of the match is the best way to keep your sanity.
This is typically the issue with asymmetrical games. Evolve also had it rough with balance but the devs of Evolve felt way more responsive and made a lot of effort in buffing Monster to a point where only at the highest level did it really feel stacked against Monster.

What gives me the killer jitters and anxiety is the toxic behavior from survivors when they outplay me. I get looped for days and whenever there is an opportunity for the survivor to BM, they do it.
I just feel like crap when like four people are bullying me, even though I'm the killer! I'm still considered a beginner I guess (around 200 hrs), but every game as killer, even when I don't want to care about winning, I just worry about getting harassed by survivors.
It's so funny when people start saying survivor queues are longer, and then they treat killers like crap due to the broken balance and matchmaking.
Maybe I'm just having the beginner blues. It just sucks being outplayed all the time and I feel powerless, even though I'm supposed to be the big scary killer.
Also about 200 hours here. And I 100% feel what you're saying.

I'm tired of people saying that the devs are somewhat justified in having such a poor game state all of the time because "they keep putting out content", basically saying that they need to take a break from making new content to work on the game.
I'm sure there are studios, smaller than theirs, able to put out good content often AND balance, fix bugs, make the game more fun, etc. So that's the standard I hold them to, and I am continually disappointed.
That's fair. Just because they're putting out content doesn't mean they don't have time to playtest the current build of the game. But certainly if they weren't busy trying to make concepts and push out everything every 3 months they'd have some time to do a major rebalancing and QoL update.

my issue is the amount of pressure they get from second chances is draining, then they buffed the ######### feeling second chance survivors have. Dead head.
Are we ever going to get grab validation or something like that?
-
@[Deleted User] said:
No. In response to a question about what killers are getting looked at next they responded with they are looking to add some improvements to survivor right now, but also that they are looking at Legion and Ghost Face. So basically general killer gameplay is not a concern to them at this time. They want killer to be challenging, they consider a killer that has barely a 60% average kill rate to be overperforming. I think we should just accept that.
Because the Survivor experience is definitely where the problem's at. Survivor is super relaxing compared to Killer.
-
@SunsetSherbet said:
I doubt that. I think a more likely outcome is forcing/bribing people to play killer in some way. Incentives, like they talked before, are likely. They'll just start offering big rewards for anyone willing to put up with it.
Did they say this is what they'd do? That's pretty heartbreaking and pretty much confirms that Killer and their players are just assets for the Survivor experience.
-
I had this too. Finally felt ready to jump back into Killer again
First game is a hacking Meg who takes no damage from two hits and then DDOSes me off the bat.
Has this been fixed yet? I want to play Killer again but between the typical difficulty and stress of it, and all the cheaters running amok, there really is no point in playing anything except Survivor at the moment

i mean ruin undying or ruin pop are basically the same thing, one is just more stable then the other
Ruin Pop I think is much stronger than Ruin Undying on Killers of equal skill level precisely because of the stability.
-
This will probably be a hot take but unless you are a mobile enough Killer or very experienced, its usually not worth running both Ruin and Undying. Better to do Ruin Pop.

ok yeah thats more what i mean like in current meta do you think the perk should be changed? maybe to activate once?
It shouldn't be changed at all.
-
It's not really OP by itself. It just has strong synergy with meta perks.
-
Toxicity.
Ik thats an umbrella term which is technically cheating but I think this game would be a lot more fun for everyone if we never had to worry about whether we'd have to invest energy into ignoring someone who is purposefully trying to make us miserable.
-
It's definitely the way to go. I started on a build that let's me focus solely on practicing Punishment hits. Nemesis/Enduring/All Ears/Nurse's.
There's no point in playing sweaty anymore and I have more fun just focusing solely on improvement.
-
BHVR tried to do something to punish facecamping and survivors wound up abusing it so they removed it. You're new here so you probably don't know that facecamping gets talked about here extremely frequently.
Just slam gens when someone is being facecamped.

I like this idea. Especially when I'm already playing the (technically) tallest killer in the game and the survivors hear "HROOOOOGGGGH....HRUUUUUUUUGGGGGH.....HROOOOOGGGGH....HRUUUUUUUGH" and the Great Knife is still loud af

Damn. Just when I was about to make a thread of the Great Big Book of Beaten Dead Horses here on the forum, someone comes through with a nicely made thread that basically discusses the same issue. Kudos.
-
I'm gonna throw in Pyramid Head's other perk, Forced Penance, as a pretty forgettable perk. Taking protection hits happen all the time at higher levels, but it's so rarely worth using as a perk because of how fast the gens fly at those same levels.

Well most hex totems are pretty much high risk, high reward since typically their effects are pretty strong, but can be wiped off the map due to something dumb like RNG
Ah, he was speaking generally. My mistake, thought he meant a specific perk.

Shadow step boon:
Up to 4 can be active at a time (4 survivors.)
Can be reapplied by up to 4 survivors (spammable.)
Can cleanse a hex totem whilst blessing said totem (2 actions at once.)
In addition to removing scratch marks, it counters a bunch of killer perks rendering them mostly wasted slots, including an actual one-time use, supposedly “high risk high reward” hex perk.
This is fine.
Just curious, what is the high risk high reward one time use hex? Haunted Grounds? Not that familiar with all the Hex perks

The idea is to spark conversation. Could just prove to be a theory, though. I stand by what I said, however. Tunneling is fine. There's nothing wrong, or immoral about it in any way.
I mean what can be said of it that hasn't been said before? There are plenty of people who say there is nothing wrong with tunneling and there are plenty of people saying it's for bad killers only, and the conversation has been had countless upon countless upon countless times. You can type 'tunneling' into the search bar and there are 1,000 pages of discussion on tunneling. Probably would be more, I'm sure it's been discussed since the dawn of the forums.
I don't think there's a distinct problem with tunneling. Survivors have plenty of perks to get around it. But the tunneling conversation has to be the most beaten dead horse in the history of time. There's not even a horse to beat anymore, just the dirt where the horse died. Yet people keep beating it.
-
Here comes the page-long arguments about how you're wrong or how you're right and how he/she is bad and then there's those other guys that come in and say it's part of the game and everyone needs to stop whining and yadda yadda yadda....
