Usually they walk around aimlessly and not even hit you. I try to get out of the game as quickly as possible, I know what it is like.
-
Things have been going downhill for a while, at least for me personally. Last year I stacked up hundres of anniversary cakes on multiple characters. Now I just play one or two matches a day to unlock what I'm interested in and then play a different game.
-
I very rarely see her in my survivor games and the ones I do come across are usually very good and end up 4k-ing.
Playing her is a rather miserable experience, the hitbox of her birds is absolutely wild and makes me want to play Huntress instead.
-
Because the non-top tier Blight players aren't going on 1000 winstreaks, the vast majority of them allows counter play.
-
Something something something good performance at lower levels.
-
I really don't think we'll get "there", meaning the magic balanced point. If we have learned anything over the course of these years is that the developers make some...let's call it interesting for the time being, choices when it comes to "balancing" the game. Even if some things get fixed, I don't see that maps would ever truly be balanced or that SBMM gets a rework where important factors like killer/swf/items/addons/perks are taken into consideration.
I don't see the game ever not just be a one-sided curbstomp with the occasional balanced matches happening by sheer accident.
-
If you want to play an M1 killer just never pick up/place/open a trap with Trapper and bam, you are good to go. Literally no reason to play him. Garbage power, garbage perks, the only redeeming factor is his awesome mori.
-
While it is absolutely refreshing that I don't have to dodge flashlight lobbies, at the end of the day he is still an M1 killer that will be hard countered by most maps and SWFs. Can be fun against a random soloq team, but it's mostly just pallet breaking simulator 2016.
-
New map is absolutely horrible and as a Killer I won't be playing on it.
Killer is complete garbage, will get the adept and never touch him again outside of tome challenges.
-
In any sane world, this perk would have never been made.
Unfortunately, we live in the pretty good job world.
-
Also, pay attention to where survivors were sacrificed. If one of your teammate has died near a corner, hold w into that corner and you have a pretty decent chance to wiggle free. I got a tunneling Blight on my fourth match managed to wiggle free not once, but twice.
Shoutout to my teammates who stayed to help me get out of the trial.
-
Survivor: Meg P98
Killer: Bubba P12
I play every killer except for Plague and Hag. Yes, even Twins.
-
I went down next to NOED twice during the same day. Probably just bad luck, but man was it infuriating, especially against the Bubba I looped for 3.5 gens and didn't stop hitting me on hook, nodding like a madman.
-
Back with Grade Based Matchmaking, I managed to crawl my way to Iri 1 and stay there with relative reliability as a strictly SoloQ player, I've never SWF-ed in my entire life even once.
Then came SBMM and for these past two years, I would always hit a brick wall the moment I got to Iri 4. Twice, I got to Iri 3 and once, only once did I get to Iri 2 where I lost all my drive to play the game for a few weeks after a miserable string of bad games for days. I was twice a double pip from reaching Iri 1 but never quite got there, sweaty Blights, Nurses, Spirits and bad teammates made sure of that.
About two or three weeks ago however, my SoloQ matches changed. I was even accused of lying to myself because everyone else was having a horrible time. But my teammates? Almost no DC even against Pinheads and Skull Merchants. Bubba camping at five gens? Everyone was laser focused on the objective and I even saw an absolute unit of Feng Min rescue from basement about a second before the Mikaela was dead, absolute mad props to her. I still went up against super cracked Weskers, Blights and Nurses, but my teams didn't give up that easily and could at least hold double W away from the gen, buying us precious time to finish a few gens, get rescues and partake in chases. I was flying through grades and having an immense amount of fun in SoloQ.
Now, can I prove with some insane statistical research that it isn't a fluke and I'm not just particularly lucky this time around? Absolutely not. Am I certain beyond any reasonable doubt that they did SOMETHING to the matchmaking? Absolutely yes.
On the flipside, my killer games have gone to hell. If I don't tunnel it's a 3-4 men out 9 out of 10 games. Even when I can tell that I'm going against uncoordinated Solos, they put up a really strong fight and I need to bring my A game as an M1 killer to even stand a chance to capitalize on a mistake. But I'm having so much fun with SoloQ right now that I'm only doing archives and dailies. I don't know how long this will last, so I intend to savor every last bit of it, before it goes back to the time when I didn't escape a single game for like 50+ trials.
-
Every?
-
Pretty much useless in SoloQ and can be really nicely utlized in SWF especially during EGC rescues..
-
In my personal experience, the exact opposite has been true, ever since they nerfed DH my killer games have increased in difficulty drastically. I'm used to seeing Adrenaline every now and again, but now if I don't see four in the endgame lobby, I'm super surprised. Survivors don't mess around thinking that they have DH as a third health state, they instead use other exhaustion perks that are almost guaranteed to give them value, as opposed to dabbing face first into a tree only to get downed immediately afterwards. If you don't tunnel or play one of the busted killers, you'll basically lose on most maps.
And SoloQ is...SoloQ. If the Killer isn't tunneling (or is playing a DC magnet killer), there's a decent chance of a 2-3 men out.
-
SoloQ literally only exists to replace balancing. As long as SoloQ is there, M1 killers will have an acceptable killrate.
Please stop pretending the developers even remotely care about the game.
Basekit Kindred? Nope!
Letting us see what perks the other survivors are bringing? Nope!
Functional matchmaking where the 1k winstreak Blight goes against sweaty 4 men with BNPS instead of random SoloQs? HAHA.
-
Good thing that our beloved content creators didn't IMMEDIATELY drop the topic the moment they got preferential matchmaking so they can get back to making money by clubbing babyseals. Some pillars of the community.
-
There is no such thing as genrushing.
-
It used to be on every killer I played, now it almost never appears. I used to put it on for aura reading focus builds but what's the point anyway? Every team has at least one Distortion and even outside that, most survivors have more than two digit IQs and know to position the gen between themselves and the killer so that the gen's aura blocks out their own (pretty good job so far BHVR). One of the most useless perks at the moment.
-
Freddy. I used to see him somewhat regularly, but now he is an incredibly rare breed.
I would also say Dredge, but I never saw him after he came out more than once a month anyway.
-
I usually don't, it's very boring and really embarrassing if you mess it up. I just leave and let them have a nice experience.
-
I honestly have no other explanation to what has been happening for around the last two weeks, other than that the SBMM system has been quite simply disabled.
Back with the grade based matchmaking, my escape rate was somewhere around 40-45%. Did I have bad teammates? Absolutely! Did I go up against super cracked Iri 1 killers? Oh you bet! Did I still have fun for the most part with SoloQ? Yeah, actually! And then SBMM was introduced and my escape rate slowly and steadily began to plummet. Last summer's "tweak" finally rendered my escape rate under 10% constantly. Despite the fact that I would only escape 10 out of a 100 SoloQ matches, some of which were due to lucky hatch spawns, my MMR didn't actually drop. I was still seeing the incredibly cracked Blights, Nurses that just melted my SoloQ teams with no effort. About a month ago things were so bad that I actually went for 60+ games without a single escape, gate or hatch.
And then suddenly...my teammates began to be competent, I actually faced killers that you see in survivor main content creator vids that you can spin around, run for five gens because they don't realize when you should abandon one and my escape rate started to grow. Now funnily enough, I was STILL going up against the prestige 100 killers that wouldn't necessarily mean that they were tippy top 1%, but the expertise that they have demonstrated using their powers and their very on point macro showed that I was still going against people above the softcap. But now, just yesterday I faced off against a Wraith that literally had two tier 1 perks and never even managed to hit me until we were in endgame and he facecamped his second hook.
I'm now basically going up against one or two highly experienced killers and then I'm back to normal matches. And the survivor skill is completely reversed. I'm getting competent loopers and people able to time flashlight and pallet stuns when I'm against decent to mediocre killers and zero prestige bush hiding Claudettes with 7 hours in the game against the P88 Wesker that has mastered his bounds. It's completely reversed, good killers get bad survivors and bad survivors get good killers.
And then there is killer. Oh boy is there killer...
For the past few months, the matches were pretty similar. One or two tough matches and then one or two somewhat more chill ones. I don't tunnel nor did I use the Eruption/CoB/etc meta. Survivors now though, are a completely different breed. No weak links, four adrenalines in almost every single match, they wait around edges/corners, don't fall for mindgames, manage hookstates really well and focus on generators, leaving most chests unopened. Unless I tunnel it's a 2 out in the best case scenario. Tunneling or a lucky snowball still gives a 4k, but unless I'm sweating for my life the maps are just too safe against M1 killers that don't tunnel. For the first time since SBMM came out, I'm actually having more fun playing SoloQ than Killer and that's not a sentence I have previously thought would be uttered.
-
Had a very fun Billy game on Sheltered Woods where none of the survivors even finished a gen. They just all followed me around sandbagging each other to get the chase. I offerd the last Ace the hatch but he crawled back under a hook. It was the most fun I had as killer in months.
-
Judging by some threads, I'd say they are having a lot of fun with their power trip. Kinda sad that getting good at the most broken killer in a niche game is the greatest achievement of their lives but to each their own.

Curious how some people seem to have match after match of harassment. Think I've had maybe 5-6 in my entire DBD experience since 2016. Not saying it doesn't happen, just weird to see posts make it seem like it's every match.
Something's in the air. Got DDOSed by a salty Blight yesterday, first time it happened to me as survivor, pretty wild.
Oh, I forgot, there is no DDOSing in DBD, only random internet crashes that magically fix themselves after a new IP address.
-
Why would there be?
It's the same cycle as it has been since at least RPD. The map is visually a work of art but is absolutely miserable to play on as Killer.
In 8-18 months they'll rework it and make it even worse with introducing infinites or add even more random clutter to make sure Bubba and Billy won't even press M2 once during the entire match.
-
I feel like it's less them being very interested in hearing feedback and more about them coming up with some insanely unbalanced things that they realize after five minutes of experienced players playtesting would be a horrible idea. I still to this day don't understand why they don't consult with their fogwhisperers, some of whom are far more knowledgeable about balance than anyone on the dev team.
Still, I guess we are getting a slightly worse chapter so...technical W?
-
If you tunnel out the first survivor and they aren't good or it's not one of the bazillion 50+ safe pallet map, you might actually be able to 4k with them.
-
Good, it would have been way too oppressive for sweaty players. Kind of a bummer I'll never get to try it out though.
-
Botany+Self Care.
Not as quick as a medkit, but has unlimited uses and cannot be Franklin'd. Wasting time looking for totems when others might have already gobbled them up is also prevented unlike Inner Healing. As opposed to Renewal, you don't need to unhook someone safely first.
-
They say love wins, and I do sure hope that's right, because it very often feels like we are taking one step forward and two step back as a species.
-
I'm actually with the minority on this one. I don't care about the que times or people abusing the system anymore, anything is better than what we have. Give us a casual and a competitive mode BHVR. Even if only 1 out of 3 match is casual and chill, that's already an improvement.
-
There is absolutely nothing inherently impossible about balancing an asymmetrical game, it's just not as intuitive to do.
-
It was definitely rude to take such a rare item, but the Meg definitely went too far. Still, letting her bleed out was probably not warranted. Understandable, but a bit too much.
-
Man, I miss the good old days.
Also, when was the last time there was any positivity towards a Cenobite player?
-
Props to that Legion player.
I had a Knight spare our team after the Thalita gave up and just stood still. He killed her in the endgame, but everyone else was let out. Huge W for not being a whiny kid throwing a tantrum.
Last time I tried to play nice after a survivor DC-ed when I downed another survivor quickly I wanted to 2hook everyone and let them go but they all gave up and hook and the Nea teabagged on the hatch.
-
Every single time I load in the map as Killer, I feel like I'm one survivor playing against 4 Freddys.

Do a string of friendly games. Be active enough to not be reported as plain afk-ing, but don't kill anyone.
That should bring you back to an mmr you can have fun at.
Whenever there's a recent nerf to one side or the other (in this case, nerf to regression + HUD I would guess), mmr has to reevaluate where you belong under those new circonstances. It's normal that you would have a time needed to adapt.
If your objective is just to have fun and not to win, you will for sure eventually find a spot in mmr where you can.
I've been playing very relaxed for a while, giving hatch and sometimes having full on friendly games (which I happen to enjoy), and my mmr is staying at a level where games are very manageable for me if I give a little effort, generally as Legion, Hag, Ghostface and sometimes Nemesis.
Do we still even lose MMR anymore? Last week with the plus bloodpoints I played Doctor with the farming build, 0-1k ing for like 10-20 matches and my survivors skill doesn't seem to be dropping. I did have one Meg drop shack pallet in first chase, but otherwise most folks focus gens, hold W, predrop etc. I feel like the MM system is just bugged.
As to OP:
Same. I don't know what they've put into the water, but with M1 killers I literally need to tunnel from the first second if I want to 4k. If I don't, I might get one lucky endgame kill.
For the record, I've never partaken in the Eruption/COB/OC meta and just ran passive slowdown, but those seem to have stopped working. Or at the very least my survivors are super efficient and coordinated. I also almost always see multiple Adrenaline's proc, sometimes timed way too suspiciously perfectly to be done by SoloQ randos, but that might just be the salt.
-
Killer games have been especially frustrating for the past couple of weeks. I usually do my absolute best not to carry over grudges to complete randos that just want to have a fun game and do nothing wrong, but I would be lying if I said that I have never taken my frustration out on someone completely unrelated.
If you don't feel like you have done anything wrong, just try and imagine that the person on the other side is probably too tilted to think straight. It sucks I know, but none of us are perfect.
-
Wraith is just the perfect way to encapsulate the rage I feel when I'm going against survivors who know how to abuse some of the insanely broken maps to their very limit.
Ghostface is also me, after I have given up all hope of having fun in the game.
-
Ever since people started using exhaustion perks other than DH, I've lost significantly more matches. Now they actually get value out of their perks instead of wasting a slot trying to be the next [favorite survivor main content creator] and going down in five seconds.
-
Depends on how long whatever else I'm playing will hold my interest.
-
I'm honestly super torn on whether or not to dodge when I see 2+ flashlights in my lobby. I once watched two Adam's absolutely take a Blight to town and save me from certain doom in EGC, but it's far more likely that I'll just see people go down in quick succession.
-
Rare, but huge BHVR W. It's easy to be all doom and gloom with some of the stuff happening in the world so it's nice to see some companies actually caring and not just paying lipservice. Good job and keep on rocking.

SBMM is fine in the way it calculates MMR. All it's looking at is relative win rate. That's perfectly fine. But they have the matchmaking range tuned to be so wide that it puts perfectly average players with soft cap players. That's a recipe for a terrible match.
It amazes me that people believe that a system that doesn't take into consideration:
- SWF or SoloQ
- Items
- Survivor Perks
- Map
- Killer Perks
- Killer Addons
- Killer mindset
- Survivor mindset
Has anything even resembling usefulness. Even if you could magically ensure that everyone had the same MMR number, you would still get nothing close to balanced games.
-
Matchmaking is very weird this week. Had a game against a clearly new Spirit that could barely hit a single phase and then immediately after a 6.8k hour Russian Nurse player who got all of us without a single gen popping.
-
It's been going on for a little while actually.
I think they widened the MMR brackets again for better matchmaking time. I played 14 different killers this week and all but 2 of them had one super sweaty match against a bunch of skilled survivors denying me more than 4-6 hooks, only to be followed up by a poor SoloQ team getting 12 hooked at 3 gens remaining. And then this literally repeated one after the other. I didn't have two consecutive wins/losses with the exception of Cannibal and Huntress, I ended up snowballing with them.
Survivor is the same. One match you get the P100 Blight that doesn't miss a single rush, only to get a trapper that you can spin around in the open 2-3 times.
-
I just wish there was a magical matchmaking system where those people got one another and the rest of us could just chill and have fun, whether we are hatchet only Huntressing or stun the killer 4 times in a single trial-ing.
