That's so ######### false, me and my friends play together and we get killed within like 5-10 minutes, and we're all decent at the game
It's a fact that killer skill must be above those of the SWF to actually win. The game was balance for solo initially so SWF with comm get 10 free perk. SWF easily get higher rank than their actual skill. I've manage to carry 2 green rank to rank 3 with a purple rank so yeah.
-
@Axe said:
Cause majority of killers want their games to be a walk on the beach with 0 effort
while I am the opposite and only want to verse SWF. I see no way for one to get better at the game unless they actually go against teams that knows what they are doing, you can sure get good solo lobbies when you play killer but that's rarer than "death squads"
people also overestimate SWF, they have comms but trust me, most SWF does not comms with each other correctly. I played with so many parties where people always forget to call out where the killer is, who the killer is chasing, where he is going, what gen they are kicking. There is a large difference between an SWF that has comms and an SWF that use comms.
off-topic: I cant wait for MMR to be implemented for this one reason.
It's not that killer want easy 4k, the game was balance around solo and only them.
-
Because the game was design for solo in mind. SWF get the advantage of multiple information perk so they can easily optimize what they're doing. It also help in other way, making some perk even better.
eg:
Deliverance in a group of 4 solo isn't really strong since you'll often have one guy going for you, but in a SWF where all survivor know the guy who got hook have Deliverance activate completely negate the pressure the killer has & everyone can stay on their gen.
Even a bad SWF can give trouble to an ok killer just by having so much information about the killer.
-
The problem is not the speed of repairing a gen. 80s if fine by mid/late game. The problem is the early game where even the most snowball killer will take so much time to get their first down that 2-3gen can easily pop and by then if survivor play well & have big impact perk (ds/bt/etc) you can't do much afterward.
What if we made hex more viable and more fair for both side like in this video:
Survivor can still gen run but they will have to destroy more than just 1 totem to negate a strong hex perk, slowing down the game. Survivor could either play against a strong HEX perk or do a secondary objective.
Second problem I have is the lack of interaction on the survivor side. Maybe more skill check or have skill check make you press 2-3 different buttons IDK but holding M1 for 80s is just lame.

As great of a killer new bubba is, a few matches are hardly enough to make a decent comparison, that much less one.
Well Bubba eat pallet for breakfast, bring Bamboozle and by the mid game (2-3 gen done, 4-5hooks) there are barely any good pallet left and he make window tiles unsafe with Bamboozle and get easy down.
Wile Billy have great mobility & can insta down, he's almost just an M1 killer on most tiles/pallet.

how bad billy is compared to his former self has been done to death but i do give it to otz to get some of the best killers and survivors to see how they stack up against good teams. Bubbas a insane beast right now lol. Billy just has so many disadvantages right now to compete which sucks because i played him for so long when i first joined and loved his playstyle. Poor billys throne has been taken. (Then again oni took it a long time before bubba did)
I'm all for every killer having a downside to their power so if you do a missplay you're punish for it. That being said Billy is too weak since his nerf. I'd slightly buff base Billy, IDK, either a tad more ms while charging his chainsaw or faster charging + buffing his add-ons to make them useful.

That's totally not the point but to go off of what you're saying why should you hinder that person who's going down in ten seconds more than what they are already? What's the harm in giving them the slots available but they still have to earn their perks? It's not like you're handing them teachable perks for free they still have to grind but if they buy a character they should feel like they can use them out the gates and at least try the three perks that come with the survivor
- If you concern was really perk availability for new player the grind should be what you're looking at.
- It take less then 10 games before getting level 15, you should take that time to focus on the basic mechanic of the game instead of trying to understand how perks work.
- Most common perk (those that don't require a DLC) barely does anything or can give bad habit to new player like Spine Chill.
- Perk are way more drastic on the killer side as they can really buff a killer's ability (eg: Thanatophobia on Legion) but still one might need to learn the basic of each and every killer before using perk that can artificially make them stronger.
-
Perks doesn't equate to skill.
You can have 4 good perk, if you don't know how to loop you're still gonna get down in 10s.
-
First it's not my first account, second by now I mostly play red/purple survivor. I started like a week ago rank 20, 0 perk/add-ons, can't go faster than the game allow me.
On my other account I did Legion, Clown and Wraith rank 1 pre buff, those were stressful match at rank one but still the only sweaty ones were vs SWF. With Nurse I go out of my way so the game doesn't end too fast right now. We'll see when I start facing sweaty SWF red rank but I don't think it will be no where near as stressful as it was for Clown and Wraith considering she's leagues above them.

I don't think her power is unbalanced or broken at all, with the charges system applied in the nerf patch, shes more easy to avoid now. I was a nurse main and from time to time i still play her but not very often and let me tell you the reason. She is still good in the right hands, but after the nerf, shes too stressful/unfun to play. Therefore i prefer to play other killers instead.
So imagine how is she for new players? When for me shes just unfun and stressful for other people is unfun, stressful and hard. Getting the point now of why asking for another nerf is crazy?
She's stressful to play?
That's my nurse. I 4k-3khatch every single games and that's far from being her best perk/add-ons. 1-2 gen get done my my first-second hook but the snowball is real with her.
-
Easiest survivor: All, I don't need perk to escape.
Easiest Killer: IFreddy, you don't need to know how to loop or patrol with him do have a decent game. For Spirit you need to set up your sound properly.

It is almost impossible to dodge deathslingers shot, dead hard is the only perk that helps in a chase.
I've yet to find a Deathsliner with more than 50% accuracy on me while my team mate seem to get hit 100% of the time whom ever they are.

I believe there's a "mouse joystick" option. Basically it behaves like a mouse but uses gamepad inputs. You should be able to select that option and then crank the sensitivity in-game all the way up and it should feel ok. If not then I'm not sure. Also turn off acceleration if you haven't
Either that or make all your controller input "mouse & keyboard" input (IDK if that's possible on Steam).

Hell, I'd honestly be fine with 2x use AND removing any healing/unhook actions from the list of disqualifying conditions provided that they actually just make DS deactivate once the gates are powered.
They did a good job by finally addressing DS, but I've come around to recognize that they over-compensated by removing too much in-game viability while somehow overlooking the remaining end-game abuse.... which was really the part about DS that always felt like the biggest BS in the world.
Anyone saved with that last minute unhook/deliverance/kobe still gets their free escape. If those gates are open, you're totally powerless to stop any DS survivor from leaving. You've seriously just gotta watch them slowly crawl their way to victory on their belly, or you decide to actually HELP THEM by eating the stun so they can sprint out since it ends the game that much faster for you.
Whether you know its coming or not, there's nothing you can do as counter-play. You're always the helpless killer who can't stop someone literally bleeding to death from escaping their grasp because you can't even slam your foot in their back to hold them in place for 60 seconds.
Nah, survivor should be afraid of healing at the hooks. Just go away/hide and let your team mate aggro the killer with his scratch mark.
If you want a fast heal there is Inner Strength or Second Wind that will heal you after 8s in a locker or 20s after unhook.

He's badly designed and feels miserable to play, Survivors still despise him as well.
I can literally list everything that makes him awful, if you like.
Yep. He's not that fun to play against and feel bad to play vs good survivor. If you buff him you just make it more unfun to play against. There's nothing they can do.

Clown is ok. Maybe 1 more bottle base kit and make his speed bottle activate faster and he'll be pretty good.

The fact that you can lose your DS by taping someone to pick them up or tap yourself on accident because you forgot is quite bad.
So why don't the just double or triple the speed of your DS timer when you preform an action?
There's a perk called Second Wind. Heal a survivor for the equivalent of one health state and you get healed 20s after getting off the hook.

As I said, here is a couple of games how I play Demo. Not high skilled gameplay though on my part nor from Survivors, everyone made several mistakes to be honest, but should be good enough to start with to see that Demo isn't just a M1 Killer. Demo needs an aggressive playstyle that has you juggle or be in random spots on the map.
Feel free to ask questions about why I did what or point out the mistakes.
There are so many mistake and I'm only at 1min45s. Use Shred to bait survivor: charge but don't ponce, they will juke nothing/don't use pallet/window and you'll get a free hit.
Your first Shred was perfectly used and you got rid of a pallet without even looping, that's how good it can be when used properly. Many tiles have a somewhat long wall and a pallet perpendicular to the wall. Force the survivor to run it that way so you can precharge Shred and either bait it, get a free pallet or a hit.

Pretty widely known and talked about bug. If you don't know what this is, the Nurse blink bug is where you cannot use your second blink. It doesn't last for very long, but you make the spam gasp noises that Nurse does when she charges a blink, and you don't go anywhere.
https://youtu.be/cPlyNqsXKeE?t=41
Video starts at where the bug is if you don't know what I'm talking about. Super annoying. It's not uncommon, happens in almost all of my Nurse games and I'm sure other Nurse players have seen this bug. Why has it not been fixed yet?
I've seen this bug on many youtube video.
I've played maybe 20 Nurse games in the past few day and I've yet to encounter this particular Nurse bug. Thing is I started at level 0 and if it's add-on related that could be the reason why I haven't got that bug yet.

You simply do not belong to red ranks. You probably boosted your rank with spirit and now suffer because of that
And that's why I really want a decent match making. A somewhat decent player playing Spirit will face good survivor and they will both have a decent match. That same killer player could then play a killer he has no experience like Nurse and face weaker survivor.
Learning a new killer is hard when you get red rank with 1 particular killer because all killer play differently. 100h on Legion only mean you should be good with M1 115%killer at looping, the skill doesn't translate to any of the ranged killer or other killer.
-
I like them and just by reading them none seem op. Gearhead force survivor to actually fail their skill check <3

@Dragonshensi said:
Nurse and Spirit are the only ones who can counter and have a chance at high ranks. You want to nerf Spirit? Ok. Well prepare to only face Nurse forever. Instead of asking for nerfs, you need to ask for more buffs for killers. Except those two killers, it’s almost impossible to have a decent match in high ranks.
First I don't think it's a good idea to balance the game around 4swf sweaty squad. Most of the SWF you'll find are just people who want to have fun with other player and aren't sweaty. They'll bring perk to help against tunneling/camping to try and get the most fun out of their gaming session but that's all. Plus getting more than 2k vs random is quite easy even at high rank.
I don't think people really have an issue with nurse. To do well with her you need to be good with her and you don't learn her overnight.
Spirit's issue is that she can stop moving and as a survivor you don't know how to react properly. Also her only real counter is Iron Will but Stridor counter it.
Nurse is not really frustrating to play against unlike Spirit.

Not my fault most killers can't cover the whole map super fast. Just had a match as trapper, I started walking 2 steps and I hear tinkerer trigger on the opposite side of the map. What am I supposed to do? Nurse teleport there? As trapper? Didn't even have time to set a trap before they did a gen already.

If you are going to abuse big maps and how fast you can do gens then of course i'm gonna tunnel and camp, why wouldn't I when it's the only way I have to at least assure I have some fun and not end up the game with 0 hooks and teabagged at the exit.
3 survivor on a gen take 38s, 4 take 36. Try again.

It has absolutely gotten worse in the games I play (I didn't use DS before the nerf). Killers know DS isn't that good now (pretty much everything deactivates it) and are now tunneling more. I still like DBD, but I've been playing way less because of the tunneling and camping.
Well as much as I hate tunneling, if you had time to to an action by yourself you didn't get tunneled.

When you see a Nurse, 99% of them are either really good or really bad at her. Some people want to learn her but your first few games you're gonna get destroyed no matter what.

Have you looked at what percentage of players hit rank 1 killer on steam?
It's 4% of the player base. Wouldn't it be much higher if it were incredibly easy? Heck even rank 1 survivors are only about 6.2% of the players.
It would be nice if playstation and xbox had trophies/achievements linked to rank as well, but they don't.
Do you have any idea of how many people bough the game & barely payed or people that have many account?
Also some people are just not super good at doing some stuff & that's perfectly fine. Like many I have no struggle getting at rank 1 both side if I play a lot while some people will find it almost impossible to get rank 4.

The game isn’t competitive, devs keep making changes rank 20s ask for. Freddy wasn’t anywhere close to the best killer and they still nerfed him.
Freddy's kit is bloated, he's easy to play and do well. He's just not fun to go against and I'm pretty sure that's why they went after him. Beside he apparently have the most kill on average.

@swager21 said:
decisive strike needs a buff. i doubt theyll do it but it would make the perk actually help prevent tunneling:
right now the killer just eats the stun and forces you out of the game anyway. a great buff would be to make it so your scratch marks and pools of blood were gone for the duration of the stun. also increase the stun duration to 7 seconds, it may sound like a lot but those 5 seconds feel like 3 seconds. not to mention the fact that the stun animation already eats up a solid second or two.
I've been saying this since the dev said they were gonna change it. Give it two used & make BT activate in a certain radius of the killer. That way there is no undetectable bullshit for BT. As for DS it get deactivate the moment the survivor does anything but in the situation where a killer want to tunnel one person out of the match he's gonna have to take 2 DS + a BT that actually work against an undetectable killer.

A 110% killer that gets run around a tight obstacle and therefore can´t use his power at all. Because whenever you try to use the power, you get slowed down even further.
Let's see.
Hag wouldn't put down a trap in that situation, she shut down bigger loops
Huntesss & Deathsligner-> it depend on how tall the tile is
Spirit-> we really don't give a ######### if she get run on a small loop
Plague->If survivor cleanse then she have a strong ranged power so same as Huntress/Deathsligner if they don't then all she need is 1 hit to down survivor once they are injure.
So yeah it happen, on loop where the killer's power doesn't shine. 110% Killer have strong power, what do you want? Survivor not being able to run them on any tile at all? I guess we should remove pallets in your games.

I highly disagree, killer is much harder than Survivor to get to rank 1. Unless you're using some boosted add-ons and builds for some of the killers and playing sweaty every match then you wont make it to Rank 1 that easy. Killer is a lot harder than people choose to believe and survivor mains actively ignore.
Meanwhile, I can chat with my friend or watch YouTube while cruising to Rank 1 as Survivor without breaking a sweat. Good survivors will trounce killers that are not Spirit, Nurse, Freddy ect ect.
I got Wraith rank 1 like 2 years ago without any good perk as he was my first killer. Not only his perk are bad but he was way worst that what he is now. He was really bad. Same goes for Clown & Legion a year ago. PGTW on Clown and Thana on Legion, other perks were decent to bad.
Believe me or not most survivor pre drop pallet or try to stun a Legion in Feral Fenze when it's so easy to bait them/vault a pallet and still injure them. They try to loop or mindgame a Clown with his bottles. Yeah, survivor can be so bad that it's not hard with even the worst killer to get rank one once you learn how to play them properly.
Will all the recent buff to killers in the past 2 years & many nerf to survivor perks it's really not that hard to get rank 1 killer.
The problem is you guys think you are good killer in general and won't take into consideration that each killer should be played differently to get the most out of their power. Each and every killer play differently at loops or mindgames but many killer main don't want to understand that hence why they have such a hard time getting red rank or rank 1. Most killer that played 2 or 3 years ago, laugh at how easy it is compare right now compare to then.

Survivors have perks to counter camping, tunneling and slugging. Survivors have the map at their disposal and control how long the match will last. Survivors have the hex spawn right next to them and glow like crazy. Survivors have flashlights that can blind the killer at bullshit angles and now pallets that can stun the killer even when he's picking the survivor up. And most importantly, Survivors have an option to easily win the game immediatly with a key, or even if they finished zero gens the very last survivor is given a ticket out.
All of those things that are not fun for survivors, they can easily counter them. If you have some basement bubba hook you and he won't leave, then, even if you're not having fun you can still buy plenty of time to your entire team to leave. Or you even have the option to suicide on hook and move on the next game.
A killer can't counter gen rush because Hex Ruin spawns is a joke. Most killers can't apply good pressure on big maps and some are completly ruined in indoor maps like Billy and Blight. Killers like Trapper who are told to "Snowball in late game" don't even have a late game because of the hatch.
Having fun as survivor is not just easy but cheap.
BT for camping and DS for tunneling. Those two merely slow down a killer that really want to camp/tunnel a specific survivor.
Most map are balance.
Most map have decent totem placement.
Pallet & flashlight save used to be way stronger, why can't you take 2sec and look around you for other survivor? + kIlLeR hAvE pErKs FoR tHoSe TwO tHiNgS.
Key are getting rework and End Game Collapse in it's current state was made so the game couldn't be taken hostage. Who cares for that 1 survivor that get a hatch escape 1 game out of 10? Gate spawn usually favor killer and if you have a mobility killer if there is less than 3 survivor by the time all gen are done it's easy to get a 4k.
"Most killers can't apply good pressure on big maps"
Wraith, Hillbilly, Nurse, Hag, Nightmare, Spirit, Legion, Demogorgon, Oni & Blight have good mobility.
Trapper, Doctor, Cannibal, Clown & Deathsligner are strong vs looping.
Plague either play vs injured survivor or AOE range attack.
Ghost Face can stalk & 1 hit survivor and/or free hit survivor.
Thing is you need to learn how to play these killer, they have different power, different gameplay.
At this point I'm not sure if you're just an entitle killer main or simply just a troll.

And so is the killers to kill you.
"But it isn't fun to get tunneled!" Neither is getting your fourth hook and the 4th or 5th gen pops, just because you were nice and lost all your pressure by chasing people who have not been hooked.
Go ahead try it yourself. Play nice at red ranks, survivors won't be nice to you in return.
Most survivor, even in red rank, don't do that well. Pressuring gen is ez, running a killer for a long time is an other thing. I can completely understand skipping 1 survivor in a match against a sweaty SWF but that's rare AF. Most SWF aren't sweaty, not much more coordinated than good random survivor and will often be overly altruistic & try to save their team mate from tunneling/camping which then give the killer some free hooks/kills. Don't believe me? Go on the official discord server or any discord server dedicated for DBD and you'll get what I mean.

Tell me about snowballing when survivors don't find or bring a key that allows 3/4 of the team to escape as soon as someone dies without even having to finish the last gen, open the gates and go through them. Since they keep doing that, and will keep doing so, keep your "snowballing" to yourself and enjoy getting tunneled as I count to 60 to make sure DS is useless.
Not my ######### problem if you're so bad at the game you can't snowball with Billy, Nurse, Huntress, Nightmare, Spirit, Oni, Blight or can't do well with literally all the other killer. I got Rank one Wraith like 2 years ago, rank 1 Clown & Legion about a year ago. Even against your sweaty SWF team I get a minimum of 6-8hook and even with no kill I'm satisfied with that because both side played well. About 4/5 of my games are 3/4k the rest is mostly 2k with like 9-10hook which is completely fine and maybe 1game on 50 I get 0-1k with 6-8hooks vs a good coordinated team.
It's funny how the newer player base still complain on the killer side. The game was way, I mean way more survivor sided 3 or even 2 years ago yet lot of killer were still about to do 2k+ on most of their games without needed to camp or tunnel.

Rank doesnt matter in this game because it's not a real measurement of skill, it basically just measures how much time you put into the game per reset. If you play enough eventually you will pip to 1 or 2 (Survivor anyway). There are a bunch of Red Rank Survivors that I encounter that are absolutely brain dead in my solo games.
Killer rank is the real skill, god knows what people or SWF you run into as you play.
"Killer rank is the real skill" These day rank 1 killer is about as easy as rank 1 survivor. Play enough, even with C tier killer+ C tier perk and you'll get to rank 1.

Maybe if survivors weren't tryhards that pop 3 gens before the killer even finds them the killer wouldn't have to resort to tunneling to secure at least one kill so he's not only not humilliated but also doesn't derank and has some fun.
If you want tunneling to not exist then make it so the killer can chill and kill at his own pace instead of being forced to tunnel or all 4 survivors will escape and teabag at the exit.
Survivor will always be able to do 1-2 or heck even 3 gen if you lost lots of time for your first hook. Now if you're unable to snowball from that as a killer it's a you problem not a survivor/game design problem. If you really resort to tunnel/camp for a killer because of that reason it just prove how bad you are.

even after like i think it was 2 times they increased how long it takes, you can just ######### bum rush those shits so quick. I usually use gen perks and put pressure like you would. Doesn't matter who it is, by the way people regularly play it takes time to down someone and by the time u get ONE sometimes TWO hooks, 2 gens pop and the games half over.
Killers current state of play is still rush everything and i feel there isn't much time to do really any planning whatsoever. Survivors can literally stand there and win.
There's some serious imbalance heading into the 2021-2022 state of dbd compared to like 3 years ago, killers just become more and more frustrating. It's so old seeing how this game is geared towards SWF and cosmetics.
(This is my Opinion you nerds btw)
It is completely normal for one or two gen to pop as you get your first or second hook. The thing is Killer are then able to snowball & apply much more pressure while survivor will be slowed down because it become harder to split properly.

Certain killers SHINE on the indoor maps. Doctor, Demo, Even Plague can be good there. Just need to have a detection perk that works on those maps like Spies (Doc has built-in detection so he's exempt). Whispers tends to be almost useless on indoor maps (especially The Game). I've seen many killers who rely on Whispers, and those are the ones that have the biggest issues indoors. Indoor maps are the #1 reason I use Spies and/or Surveillance. Gotta rely more on game sense and audio than line of sight, too.
tl;dr Indoor maps are just as viable for killers as open maps, just require different skill set.
Wait, why do you think Demo shine on indoor maps? Outside of Midwitch, other indoor map aren't that much linear compare to outdoor map.
The only indoor map I like is Midwitch. Most pallets are decent & have mindgame, the hallway are good for some power like Huntress, Deathsligner, Billy etc while still being indoor. Couple of window unlike The Game with 3-4?
Lery is just a ######### fest. Mobility and range killer get no power at all, but what kill it for me is traversing the map: it's trash for both side.

Meaning someone looking for totems without it is screwed.
Someone running without it with the current version doesn't get more or less info. So IDK.

rats liver and tail should be baseline at least, give him 2 starting portals arleady placed at both ends of the map (+the default 6) and maybe tweak some addons to be more useful by adding an extra 2-3 seconds to alot of them, replace blind addon with oblivious at 30seconds as you recommended and i could see demo being used more often.
been playing with him alot recently and rats liver+tail feel mandatory because portal setup is a slog, for a time saver they sure eat up time.
Exactly. They should make all base killer decent and make their add-ons modify their gameplay/stats a bit so all can shine in some situation. Obviously some add-ons will always be less viable than other but they should try.

You never got looped with a slow killer, huh?
You mean the 110% killer that all have strong power that can down a survivor easily? Or many of the 115% that also have strong anti looping power?
There are only so few tiles where you need to loop more than 3times as killer before forcing a pallet or get a hit and I'd argue that on those tile you'd rather go chase someone else to get more pressure/value.
It's unbelievable how many DBD player are entitled survivor or killer main who think they are god at the game and would never consider making some mistakes.

I love when survivors vanish mid chase. That's exciting!
Running 10 times around the same pallet isn't.
If you ran a tile for more than 3-4 times then you're doing it wrong.

I get your point.. but why does it really have to be a totem counter in the first place? Why survivors have to get things for free when killers don't even have the hook counts like survivors do?
And i don't think giving solo players the power of a swf is a good idea at all. Facing SWF teams is horrible as a killer as it completely breaks the game balance.
If solo have the very same info as swf that mean devs will have a better picture of all their statistics and if a killer/perk become too week they can then buff/change it.

Not having blood pools at all wouldn't be that strong.

To an extent I agree but that is map dependent. Some maps like asarovs and suffo pit have easy 3 gen opportunities for the killer to take
That more of a map issue.
For me gen tapping vs gen kicking should be more balance but right now the game is already quite balanced so IDK.

Mayne people complained.
Personally I haven't experienced it yet. I was playing killer & didn't seem to get hit I shouldn't get.
I'm playing survivor now and for the 2 games I've played today I didn't have this issue.
