Survivors can deliver any tape to any tv.
Sure Sadako can try to spam TP over and over, but I'm more than sure survivors will just deliver a tape to nearest TV and get those stacks off in no time. If anything, she will become annoying to play against compared to what she is now.
Is that new? Before you could only take a tape to a specific TV, usually on the opposite side of the map

They should stop trying to make Smash Hit a thing. It’s a bad perk, and these little ‘buffs’ don’t help it.

I suggest you re-read what I said then because I never said anything about running around doing nothing with OtR active.
A killer will try to wait out your basekit BT but often times don't notice you aren't making a sound which wastes more of their time and gives you a chance to get to a loop or get a bodyblocker.
Sometimes after an unhook it's wise to hide if the killer likes to tunnel. A few seconds of queit while they search the area is a great thing. Then you can move on.
Again, none of this is just running around with OtR. Since that's what you keep assuming, I think I'm starting to understand what your problem is when using it.
I don’t use it. And no killer I’ve ever seen ‘waits out’ BT, basekit or otherwise. They don’t wait out OtR either. Because hitting someone renders the perk useless. There’s no reason to wait.
-
Probably to ensure their win. I can’t even say it’s to end things quickly because camping with a DC at 5 gens doesn’t end the match fast.

Killers could the second year but that first year, killers got absolutely nothing fun to do in the event while survivors got a fun toy and a tool to use to their advantage
I honestly imagine if they do this kind of thing again with survivors and killers getting these special powers, the devs will balance it better the same way they balanced the snowmen a bit better the second go around
Likely. At least now both sides have had an event quite favorable to them.

Who said anything about running around with it active? My point is the duration is too short on basekit and killers easily wait it put. OtR lasts long enough to get you to relative safely or helps you hide by keeping you quiet.
You did, and you just used two contradictory examples to illustrate that point. If a killer hits you with OtR active then you lose the Iron Will effect and you’re placed in deep wound. They don’t need to wait it out, nor will they. If you’re running around using OtR to remain silent… that’s wasted effort because you lose the perk benefits as soon as you perform any conspicuous / useful action. And if a killer hits you with OtR again you lose all benefits. Just like BT. So you’ve essentially wasted a perk slot for what you could get from a basekit feature now.

Considering how many events have been wicked survivor sided (Hi Snowmen who literally made powers useless for certain killers), I feel like the killers can finally have a moment to be a bit OP in an event.
That was the only event that felt more survivor-favored, though. And even then killers could still use the Snowmen suits to their advantage,

Kinda agree tbh. I wouldn’t bother using the invitation powers on survivor. They’re more likely to harm you than help.

Base kit BT runs out too fast plus it doesn't have an Iron Will effect.
The point is to somewhat avoid getting tunneled. Why are you running around with OtR active if no killer is nearby? You should be doing something productive.
-
@Exxodus21 said:
The whole point was to make DS less popular and less powerful. OtR is a healthy alternative yet people refuse run it because it's harder to use offensively and it doesn't make you invulnerable to being hooked. The usefulness of OtR relies more on the survivor's individual skill which sadly many are lacking.
You could skip OtR and just rely on basekit BT. Endurance doesn’t stack so there’s really no point in running OtR. It’s outclassed.

This probably has something to do with it, but I feel like enough time has passed for a correction to take place in terms of MMR. As others have alluded to, I think they just tuned SBMM to accept such a wide range that it essentially doesn't exist at this point. We're back to rainbow ranks.
I’m not sure about that. MMR takes a while to drop, and then you have to consider queue time prioritization as well. I think a lot of these killer mains boosted themselves due to cheap tricks and now they’re facing survivors who 1.) Know how to play against cheap tricks and 2.) Don’t really have to worry about those cheap tricks. It’s not like anything about gens has changed on the survivor side since the EruptOverBrine nerf. Survivors are blasting through gens now because healing sucks and wastes too much time, boons are pretty bad so no incentive there, and being in chase is riskier because healing sucks. So the smartest thing to do since survivors can’t afford to waste time anymore is push gens. And these killers feel it more again because they don’t have their cheap tricks to carry them. Well, not besides tunneling, which still works (3v1 ASAP).

Well considering on a 40% escape chance the killer only has a 47.52% chance to win ( 3k or 4k).
Mathematically, the game would be a fair 50:50 with a ~42% escape chance, which would result in a ~42% chance for killer win.
...Atleast in the philosopy of of setting the killer win chance equal with each individual survivor.
I may be misremembering but I think Peanits explained that it doesn’t work that way. Each escape counts as an individual win for the killer, kind of like a mini-game, if IIRC. Because survivors don’t ‘win’ or ‘lose’ as a group. They do so individually. And to balance that with killers each survivor’s individual game has to count as an individual win/loss for the killer. Basically the game is (1v1v1v1) vs 1. So the kill rate being 61% means that most killers average a 2.5-3K across their matches.

What? No he doesn’t. Do you even own this killer? Demo can’t TP to anyone unless he’s near another tunnel already, and if he’s out of portals he can’t even replace them unless they’re destroyed by survivors.
People really just blow themselves up in these forums.
You seem confused. I said Demogorgon knows a survivor is tinkering with his portal (Lifeguard Whistle) & can travel to that tunnel being messed with while a survivor is attempting to get rid of it, which is true. I didn’t say demogorgon teleports without a conduit (it does; it has to have another portal nearby to travel through, like Sadako with TVs or Dredge with lockers) because that is an irrelevant point.

Myers is mostly because of Tombstone Piece I think.
With it he is broken, without it he is the worst killer in the game. But because Tombstone Piece boosts his kill rates he appears “in a good spot”, so he doesn’t need buffs according to the stats.
Which is sad because both Myers’s base kit and Tombstone Piece are outdated and poorly designed but they cancel each other out and he statistically becomes a balanced character.
I kind of like the Tombstone piece. I think it’s unique. I know many players hate it for various reasons (he can’t be buffed while it’s here, but he’s weak without it). It’s a gimmick but I like it.
-
I mean it synchronizes really well with the healing nerfs. Running it on any killer is a no-brainer. Blight, Bubba, and Nurse players usually forego it because they can get downs very fast.

I changed platforms at the start of the year, so none of my survivors are high prestige or get dodged, but I think BHVR need to hurry up and just hide prestige until endgame. I get matched with my fair share of P100 or simply high prestige survivors, and if they're not the ones who go down 20 secs into chase then they're definitely the ones who chuck a hissy fit when something doesn't go their way and ruin the game for everyone else. There's the rare exceptions. Yet killers still dodge those lobbies.
If BHVR have faith in their SBMM system then hiding prestige won't make a difference except to ensure ridiculous backfilling stops.
They removed rank showing in lobbies because of harassment, lobby dodging, and griefing, only to create this prestige number and reveal it in lobbies. 🤦

It's a live service game things are evolving all the time. Remember Call Of Brine was in the game long before the gen kick meta and was considered fine.
Overcharge + Eruption made CoB overwhelming. It did its job much better because those perks boosted it, along with gens taking longer. Nothing really changed to help Adrenaline or Resilience become better.

Yeah this is most likely the reason. Everything comes down to the stats for balance.
Same reason why OoO took so long to be nerfed or why Trapper and Myers are “in a good place”. Probably the reason Blight’s add ons are not being nerfed too.
It’s unfortunate, but that’s how this game is balanced for the most part.
I do think MfT is a terribly designed perk but if the stats show it’s fine I guess we’re stuck with it for now and just have to get used to it.
Myers and Trapper perform well at low to mid, where most players fall. I guess really every killer does but I think people really underestimate Trapper.

A team game does not "mean your team will cost you the game". I know DBD recently has become more of a 1v1 with 3 spectators, instead of a 4v1, but that's not how team games are supposed to work.
In other team games like Overwatch, you are at a severe disadvantage if your team sucks, but put the best player on the planet against randoms they would still be able to carry a bad team and win. These games also have voice chat or at least a basic communication wheel to facilitate teamwork between strangers.
DBD does not have that. You could be the best looper in the world and you would still lose half of the time because the game expects you to literally do telepathy.
DBD is the only game I’m aware of that allows one player (killer) to completely hijack the gaming experience of another player (1 survivor). As OP demonstrated here. No other game does this; not even other assym games.

Survivor is a team game, meaning your team will cost you the game. You have to accept that if you play survivor.
OP said he was tunneled. The team tried to help him. He was still tunneled, then slugged. How did his team cost him the game? They did what you’ve always said survivors should do: Play altruistically. This might be a hot take for you but survivors cannot force a killer to not tunnel one player out. No perk or playstyle they’ve got access to can do it. It’s like you didn’t even read his post. You were just in kILLeR gUd SuRvIvOr bAd autopilot. Yikes.

The concept that people keep missing here is survivor requires teamwork.
Effective teamwork can be hard to come by when its among a bunch of strangers with varied skill, experience and motivation especially in an online environment.
Both sides are challenging in their own way.
Killer challenges stem from managing the game on your own and maintaining control of the game
Survivor challenges stem from cooperating effectively to take control of the game from the killer.
It’s easier with teamwork but survivors can technically prosper alone. While I have many different survivor builds, I’ve got an entire survivor build dedicated to making sure I get out alive. It’s solo player geared and works.

Altruistic healing speeds weren't touched at all, just cause you cant self heal in 10 seconds doesn't make healing weak.
Actually, altruistic healing was changed (nerfed). The devs reversed that change following the PTB because so many people complained it was a step too far. And when could anyone heal in 10 seconds? I can’t think of any perk or scenario + perk that allowed it.

That's not what I mean
It's just strange for me, nerfing the "gen perks" for killer, but not nerfing the "gen perks" in the same times for survivor
Like, in the past, the dev try to nerf the healing perks and buff the anti healing perks in the same times, and it's some kind of logic
Because killers don’t really have many perks that target survivor healing. Sloppy Butcher and Thanatophobia, I guess. They’re both very good. Killers had way more perks that slowed Gen repair to a crawl so it was easier and smarter to target that. Because if healing sucks for survivor (as it does now), and generator regression perks are very strong (as they were), survivors can’t heal efficiently because that’s been nerfed and they can’t repair gens because the killer’s perks are too oppressive. So they just die faster. Think 3-Gen but with terrible healing efficiency for survivors and extremely good Gen defense. Survivors wouldn’t be able to handle that. And it goes back to the first comment I made here.

i am not gonna take every word otz says like a gospel he is a pretty experienced player but he doesn't get stuff right all the time and this is one of times he has been wrong.
and even if we argue that he is right it doesn't change the fact that these maps are considered unfun to play on by most of the community for obvious reasons, there's no fun in going from pallet to pallet on the game insta breaking them as killer or not looping them as a Survivor cuz most pallets don't allow you to do any fun plays.
i personally like both sides equally and argue for good changes for both sides also equally this is me being frustrated that bhvr don't learn from their mistakes.
i want gameplay changes for the Survivor side that gives them something new to do and not have problematic perks every other chapter that usually get nerfed or useless perks all together.
the Survivor side really just needs something new to do other than waiting for a new skin every 3 months.
ps :- i could think of at least 3 perk ideas for Survivors that are strong and balanced over a cup of coffee while bhvr seems to struggle doing so over months in development and we end up with stupidly broken perks like coh, dh and mft.
Most of the community is made up of survivor mains (or people who lean that way). They do not consider those maps unfun. The vocal minority of hard killer mains do.

That was probably the most confuse thing about the nerf in 6.0.0...
Why nerfing healing when you nerf gen regression from the killer side? Nerf the two of them, for me, that was the most logical thing to do, but it was not the case
I can understand that, major nerf after major nerf, survivor gonna be very mad at BHVR because at one moment, it's just like Amanda, she did nothing wrong and got a slap in the snoot for no reason when everybody else got a beautifull buff and some love
Devs nerfed healing to compensate for nerfing generator regression, or vice versa. The goal was to make being injured riskier without making it impossible for survivors to finish enough gens to escape the trial (like it was before patch 6.1.2, I believe?). They can’t have strong healing and weak generator regression on the killer side, either.

I avoid healing handicaps with Inner Healing, it's such a good solo perk, granted you can find totems, although it still requires the same time as a self heal, just distributed differently.
Tbh, now they are also complaining about exhaustion perks in general, at least pre-nerf DH got all the focus. Now we have killers wanting to buff/add exhaustion everywhere.
Because the argument was never really about game balance. The motive was making 4Ks easier to obtain. It’s transparent, and that is why BHVR hasn’t really listened to it. They aren’t going to nerf any current exhaustion perks, they’re not changing how exhaustion applies or functions, and as they recently stated they see no reason to change Made for This.

It's just unlucky that the current meta perk is a strong counter to her. But many killers have strong counters as perks. Like if everyone ran Calm Spirit against a Doc (or old Iron Will vs Spirit), then he'd also have a very difficult game, as he'd lose a core part of his gameplay, which is the information his power offers him (unless he brings specific add-ons). But as survivors don't know the killer they're up against, they can't counterpick perks.
Resilience also becomes stronger vs killers you have to stay injured (like Plague or Legion).
The problem is that they MfT, while also emplyong a counter strategy. Do you think if they cleansed and gave you your power, you'd have any trouble hitting them even if they all brought MfT?
One issue many killer mains have with MFT and perks like it, is that they’re universally practical (and thereby good). They aren’t situationally valuable—like Calm Spirit or Distortion; perks that counter specific powers/perk scenarios. Survivors don’t have many perks with broad practicality. But killer mains only seem to complain about those survivor perks that always work.
-
I think their answer to it was the healing nerf. They can’t have healing weak (as it is now) but also Gen repair weak (like it was before) because survivors would never escape their trials. And then people would stop playing that role, it would affect queue times, BHVR would lose out on the revenue they gain from survivor cosmetics, etc. so they have to be careful. Players must understand this game isn’t a murder simulator; it needs to at least have some semblance that either side can win.

Not healing is free instant downs so I don't think any killer is complaining about free instant downs.
But killer mains are (loudly) complaining about survivors prioritizing gens over healing. They complain that survivors avoid the healing handicaps by using Adrenaline and ‘rushing gens.’ They complain that being injured isn’t risky enough for survivors. Most recently they’ve begun complaining about how MFT nullifies playing injured since survivors are ‘so fast’ now.

Only while charging Of The Abyss, or if they have lifeguard whistle then it displays killer instinct. Otherwise, no notification is given.
Lifeguard Whistle is ran so commonly (for obvious reasons) it may as well be basekit. And yes while charging his power he can teleport through tunnels that survivors are actively disrupting. It’s natural gameplay that doesn’t really cost anything.
-
I see it more than several other killers (Hag, Freddy, Skull Merchant, Trapper, Hillbilly, Knight to name a few). It’s not much to go by but I think the Singularity will remain decently popular.
-
I never saw those perks, and like 4/5ths of all survivor perks stink so it’s no break from the norm. Eventually BHVR will either rollback or in someway lessen their healing nerfs because survivors are pushing gens and not focusing on healing as much. It’s upsetting killer mains.

When pulling up the menu mid-match; you can see the order of offerings. The order of the offerings correlates with the Survivors who brought them. If a Survivor didnt bring an Offering, there will be a gap or displacement present.
Survivors top to bottom; Offerings left to right.
Good tip for knowing who brought Map Offerings, so you know who may have brought perks around the map (Balanced on Haddonfield; Boil Over on Eyrie; etc).
But it takes awhile to get use to, if you practice looking and predicting which belongs to who, youll become a master at it in no time!
It’s not sure-fire. If survivors don’t bring offerings the remaining offerings don’t necessarily correspond to the correct survivor. You always know the killer’s offering though because it’s on the second line.
-

Is this true or is there an add-on dependency here? I always close portals and he never appears there.
He’s notified if you’re messing with the tunnels and yes he can still access them while you’re trying to get rid of them (before you finish getting rid of them).

You forget that most survivors aren't that bad. The vast majority of all players are in mid MMR range. This killer is specifically designed to be as easy to counter as possible. Singularity is not oppressive in any way. That might sound good but it only makes this killer undesirable to play, which makes it irrelevant how nice it is to go against this killer.
They did a good job designing a killer that is fun to play against. But that is useless, if no one wants to play it. You can make an argument that Singularity isn't so bad when you become good with it but who wants to put in a lot of hours on a killer that is outclassed anyway. Why not play Wesker, Blight, Oni or Huntress instead? They are all much stronger and have lower skill floors.
“That bad” is relative. All we know for sure is most survivors don’t escape their trials. The kill rate indicates an average of 2.5-3K.
-
@Xernoton said:
Super high skill floors don't match well with mediocre powers. There will be a few Singularity mains but other than those you probably won't see the killer in the future.
It's sad honestly. They went out of their way to make this killer fun to play against and added a million safety measures, so that even the most mindless baby Meg would have a good time against this killer and completely forgot that all of this won't matter when nobody wants to play as the killer.
The Singularity outclasses a lot of killers, and I personally don’t think it’s weak. But it’s good that the devs anre appealing to the most common demograph (low to mid-skilled survivors). Not every killer needs to be as oppressive as Blight or invalidating as Nurse. I hope in the future they make more killers as fair and balanced as this one. And I hope you personally play them, and only them.

Pick rate does not mean the perk is bad. Nor does 1% of the random players on one platform mean anything either. Autodidact I'm sure has a low pick rate as well but it's came up clutch in more than a few games for me. Good perks are not always good and bad not always bad. That's actually a good thing.
If nothing else I would stop using Nightlight as a basis for arguments at the very least.
A perk coming in clutch doesn’t make it good either. Any perk can be situationally ‘good’. What makes perks good is that they provide consistent value, not one-off or fluke benefits. Thanks for the tip (Nightlight).
