I thought the problem was the hit validation having some weird priorities or something? Not sure I understand the technicalities of it, but can't that be addressed in some way?
At leats in LoL if you have bad ping the only one who is affected by it visibly is you by lagging and freezing etc, The enemies can massacre you meanwhile. Can't the same thing exist for DBD where one's ping affects only their performance and no one else's?
If one’s bad ping affected one as killer they wouldn’t be able to hit/down/hook survivors. If one’s bad ping affected one as survivor 3 other players suffer.

Not sure what the official stats are but I think I once saw like 70-80% console, 20-30% PC. I know it’s the 19th most played game on Xbox and was the 15th most downloaded game on PS two years ago. I don’t think it’s in the top 20 on PlayStation anymore though.

Exact same thing can be said about locker saves, but I don't see anyone on the killer side being "it was stupid to remove them, it happened 1/100 games" And I also never saw them as survivor prior to their removal.
In my 800+ hours I’ve seen one locker save. I just can’t imagine they were common at all.

1. Make it a 4s stun.
2. Make Nurse and Blight have their power charges reset when stunned by any means.
I don’t like the idea of perks functioning drastically different vs different killers. Either it power locks all killers or none of them. Either you make DS viable against all killers or none of them.

Any other way you can heal survivors altruistically... is only improved by 35-45% by a medkit.
For example, I run We'll Make It and Botany Knowledge with a high rarity medkit to heal unhooked survivors in 5 seconds flat, and charge up my Renewal. Two full heals in 5 seconds. Thank you medkit.
I can get a similarly good effect with those perks and save my medkit for myself.

I must be pretty unreasonable then as I routinely use my medkits on other survivors.
The faster I heal them the faster they can heal me.
You must be. I never see others using medkits on random teammates, never use my own medkits on other survivors, and still believe there are better ways to heal others altruistically that don’t require medkits.

I guess they could buff medkit heal speeds a lot or in other ways but remove the ability to self heal. It would make them more useful whilst not creating the self heal problem we had. If medkits healed others fast enough or enough times you could bring them and they would be a good item.
If medkits didn’t offer self-healing I don’t believe survivors would bring them anymore. There are just better ways to heal one’s teammates. Players bring medkits largely for themselves. And it’s unreasonable to expect anything else.

Yeah. Why is this a thing? I block toxic people so I can...yanno, not play with them or encounter em again.
I don't even read the chat so I could not care less what they say, it's how they behave in game...
Because it would negatively affect matchmaking. DBD doesn’t have the playerbase to support people preventing play with one another.

There wasn't all these posts about gen-speed, pre healing nerf. Now ever other post is "gen speeds are too fast".
Killer mains here have always complained about the speed at which gens are completed; even during the Erupt-Over-Brine era.

and yet it still does its job if you get downed near a resource, you just have less time to reach said resource. There are pros and cons to each perk but people prefer OTR for being less situational/having a lower skill ceiling. Again, youre welcome to undervalue it all you want.
Many killers who hit when you’ve got OTR or BT (tunnelers) aren’t downing you when you’re near resources, whatever those are. I guess “resources” are pallets that you can use because you’re also running Power Struggle to make this fantasy you’ve cooked up work. Idk. I personally think DS was less situational than OTR is now. But neither of them protects well against tunneling.

I hate the survivor meta rn. Its so braindead. Seriously, explain how looping is skillful when you have MFT making you loop better by default, WoO optimizing your pathing automatically, a third health state in DH, and hope just to make you unkillable in endgame? Not that reaching endgame is hard when you've got 3 perks making every chase take an extra 30s. not to trash on people who use them or anything their just using whats been given to them. Obviously good survivors get far more value... but a decent survivor with that build will loop just a good as they do without.
i used to play huntress before MFT released. Now all im allowed to play is wesker with full meta
I don’t see DH much anymore. It’s been replaced by other exhaustion perks, or players just using MFT in place of an exhaustion perk. But yes the survivor META prioritizes surviving (as long as one can) chase.

Hypothetically, let's do that. Who should be in charge of that balancing?
If we extend gen time to say, 120 seconds, would that be sufficient?
Now the VAST majority of players CANNOT win a match and are getting stomped every game.
Congrats, you've made DBD into a game nobody wants to play. Bad idea.
Balancing around the top 5% of players destroyed Deathgarden. I think the devs learned from that so they’re much more cautious about overpowering killers in DBD.

I'm not gonna claim this is a sample size big enough to make any balancing conclusions, but I must admit I find hilarious how the fewer MfTs in the match, the harder you lost.
I thought the same. He won nearly every match by a pretty wide berth and the ones where one person got out (that had MFT) I’m assuming he gave hatch. This definitely isn’t giving whatever he thinks it is.

Ironically I don't think you can. Slugging has a finite timer so bhvr won't punish killers for doing that.
It’s not the slugging, it’s the AFK. In the reportable section of the game it mentions AFK, and refusing to participate in normal gameplay. 🤷♀️
-
@Murgleïs said:
It’s a strat (knock out + slugging). Also, not hooking you at the end prevents 4% attempts.
The going AFK is reportable.
-
If they are a SWF why do they need Bond and Alert? Two people ran those perks. A SWF could just call out to one another where the killer is. I suppose it makes more sense if they weren’t on comms, but at that point they’re no different than any efficient team of players.
-
I think you can report that as griefing or not playing the game.
-
I want BHVR to move away from obliterating perks on either side because of usage rate. I want them to introduce stronger perks that incentivize choosing them over other things. It’s good when matches feel like a tug of war rather than a stomp.

But just with that goal in sight, they released the Eiry, Garden of Joy and the Shattered Square, while drowning the Red Forest maps in, albei beautiful to look at, clutter and foilage, that makes them an utter pain to play.
None of those maps have true infinites. They’re just safe loops and are cluttered with obstacles (Red Forest, Toba Landing, Garden of Joy). I don’t think Eyrie really has anymore challenging loops since its redesign. Shattered Square doesn’t have gamebreaking loops either, it’s just big. It does have more deadzones than GoJ and Toba Landing though.

I truly don’t understand why it’s still a mechanic. And I more so don’t understand why so many people complain about MfT when bloodlust is still a thing. If people think haste is such a problem then why do people still defend having bloodlust as a mechanic. 5% is huge when you’re already 15% faster than the survivors.
AFAIK they haven’t really said anything recent about Bloodlust. No one really knows why it wasn’t scrapped with infinites. Personally, I believe they keep it around as an aide for killers who aren’t good loopers. They use these events to showcase and test potential new features and with Bloodlust 1 = Exposed it’s possible they may eventually move toward removing the bloodlust mechanic as they’d said before.
-
@LordGlint said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3476917#Comment_3476917
I may have done the bloodlust transfer trick myself once or twice...
I definitely agree that bloodlust in general is a bandaid fix that's probably overstayed its welcome. It's annoying seeing a video where the killer will just build BL3 instead of kicking a pallet. I feel like this is more an issue with BL in general though rather than this event.
If someone has caught you in a giant dead zone to the point they can purposefully wait 15 seconds b4 hitting you, walking to deny BL isn't giving them a free hit. It's making them waste the extra time they invested if they chose to not swing sooner.
Well bloodlust initially was a response to infinites. It was supposed to go with them. Really, it shouldn’t be a conversation we’re having now because BHVR should have gotten rid of it like they said they would when they got rid of the last infinite (old Haddonfield).
-
@LordGlint said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3476785#Comment_3476785
Ppl have learned to counter that by just denying bloodlust. If someone is right on top of you and not swinging, start walking. They just wasted extra time and still gotta settle with a normal hit.
”Just get hit” isn’t a good counter. Because they wouldn’t normally get that hit you’ve now got to give them to avoid being insta-downed.

How the hell is Lerrys Killer Sided ? its 1 of the most awful Maps for Killer
There arent any Killer Sided Maps in the Game even Midwitch isnt Killer Sided except u are playing against a Aura reading Nurse
Dead Dawg is really balanced for both sides
There are some balanced Maps but way to many Survivor sided Maps to fix that they need to make All other Survivor Sided Maps balanced so its balanced for both Sides also Aura reading Nurse needs to be killed so Nurse Players cant abuse the Midwitch and The Game offering for easy 4k
Lery’s is extremely good for stealth killers.

Midwich is a map that rewards chaining tiles with one another, if you know the general layout of the map, you can usually have a rather decent chase. That being said, I forgot that it can be rather difficult to find gens on Midwich, which is another thing that the devs should probably look at improving.
There aren’t any tiles to chain there. That’s the point. The classrooms don’t link—except one. And that’s the only good tile but it can be countered by a breakable door.
-
@indieeden7 said:
I don't really think Midwich needs many changes, just something to make camping both exits harder and the removal of classrooms that don't have a single pallet in them. Dead Dawg on the other hand definitely needs a bit more looking at.
Tiles need reworked so that there aren't 5,000 breakable walls on the map, and therefore should be reduced in size to compensate, they also need to change the ridiculous amount of dead zones the map can have as well.
There’s only one good tile on Midwich. Lol. Literally
-
I dislike some of the MacMIllan maps because killers can watch both gates at once. Doesn’t seem balanced either.
-
Because killer mains are hypocrites who just want easy 4Ks? In all seriousness… You’ll find more complaints about killer-sided maps on DBD Twitter or even Reddit than here. The user base of this forum leans killer.

I’ll echo what someone else in here said, which is that 2k is not a win under any circumstances.
I’ll add my own two cents as well: if I sweat my brow off and only get a 2k, then that makes me feel like not playing anymore. I am not satisfied with a 2k, regardless of who I am facing. If I made mistakes, then fair enough, but DBD makes it nearly impossible to get 3-4k against good squads. In order to do that you have to play defensive by using some form of proxy camping and tunneling, which is also not fun.
fortunately for you and every other killer main you aren’t really facing ‘good squads’ often, as much survivors are low to mid MMR solo queue. Lol

I usually do. Sometimes I'll try making friends with killer and get the odd farming game. And there isn't much bhvr can do about it. If 3 survs have an even chance to beat the killer then 4 would stomp them repeatedly.
As with most things the players are the problem. Survs ragequit and use hooks to remove themselves from the game. Killers tunnel and face camp. Personally I think bhvr should stop players using hooks as a soft dc. Remove the penalty for trying to self unhook and drop the percentage chance to unhook and/or decrease the number of attempts they get. Plus it would make self unhook builds and offerings viable instead of a detriment.
Even if your idea was viable… How does any of that stop a killer from turbo tunneling 1 survivor at 5 gens? You seem more upset by survivors giving up than killers handicapping the match 2.5 minutes into the match.
-
If you think killer is rough you should try solo queue. Your whole world will crumble.
-
@HoodedWildKard said:
Not a fan personally. I dislike survs unaliving themselves on hook already because when I'm a surv it ruins the game because it takes away any chance of winning and when I'm a killer it takes all the challenge away so also ruins the game.
Having killers be able to nope out of the game at any time wouldn't be healthy for the game. If I'm finally performing well in a game as survivor (which is pretty rare) I'd rather not lose out on a bunch of bp because killer decided to sulk and end the game early.
If someone dies early and you want to escape you should start thinking about hatch. 3v1 basically being a loss for survivors is a major, major design flaw of this game. But it is what it is.
-
Because if you ran the killer for 5 gens but died anyway was it really a skilled play? Do you deserve more BPs than you got for your performance?
-
Why would survivors use Plot Twist and No Mither at the start of the match to slug themselves? They could just run No Mither, find the killer and achieve the same. Least they’d get some BPs out of it.
-
@Saiph said:

They also made it impossible to apply any condemnation via TP if survivor has a tape, which most survivors will do anyways so it's 15 sec on TP cooldown. That's nothing but a nerf to global presence this killer could have.
I think you get it now if you hit survivors, and all survivors receive condemn when even one is hooked.

You might have had an aneurysm when they announced the healing changes in one of the more recent PTBs. And those three things are all in the past year. - Coup requires you to lose for value
- Claustrophobia requires you to lose for value
You are winning. Why do you care?
Also did you miss the part where they nerfed every single regression perk except surge? Killer sided as we can see. And the spirit addon nerfs. And the death of ruin after its glorious era. And how for the first 4 years of the game killer was uplayable on anyone but nurse for the most part. But nooo... 2 perks got buffed that only pop when you are losing.
Tbf in that same patch where they nerfed regression, they also nerfed healing for survivors. And that wasn’t at all a small change. Both sides walked away with wounds.
-
David King is less popular now and that’s probably due to a combination of things. It may be that the reveal of his orientation drove some people away, but it could also be because his perks were nerfed. Additionally BHVR has released more handsome male survivors and some have shirtless options. So David is loud, he has bad perks, and has a lot of competition—those are three additional reasons why people just may not choose him anymore.

It's the part of the upcoming changes.
Devs believe Sadako players will just spam TP and try to build up condemnation since it will become global and to combat it, they will grant survivors ability to take any tape and deliver to nearest tv. In reality, this will mean that Sadako will be losing stacks very quickly and very often while will build up stacks quickly only if she will focus one survivor and consider tunneling someone out.
Well yes, that’s exactly what they would do. Because why wouldn’t they? It’s a no brainer. Seems like a justified countermeasure.

Chance of getting a BNP is 1/4 * 1/5 * 1/11 = 0.0045
How would anyone "farm BNPs" off a 0.0045 probability ? Not to mention it causes the exhausted status effect and can't be used while injured or exhausted.
Like there's no way you actually think that's a viable strategy, even if you're always healthy and hit the jackpot everytime you still need to wait 40s between each BNP, so no even in the most crazy scenario you can't possibly do a gen within 30 seconds.

Yup. Bring your own and skip potentially being Exposed instead.
It’s the same hysterical antics every killer main screams when they believe survivors may get any kind of perk that isn’t immediately clear garbage. I don’t personally like meme perks or find them functional. But because Oz pulled a rare item with a **less than 1% chance** the perk is broken. Lol.
-
@Annso_x said:

Med-kits are the only items with 2 iri add-ons.
Unless my math is embarassingly wrong (which I admit is very possible) The probably of this happening are 1/4 perk effect * 1/5 item * 2/13 add-ons (for med-kits) = 0.00769. Otz just got very lucky.
And BNPs are getting nerfed, so getting one because you got lucky using a perk that risks you getting exposed is really not that big of a deal. It's a meme perk anyways, it's not like people will run it to try to get an OP item when they could just bring one.
that’s my thinking. Why would a survivor gamble maybe obtaining an item like that when they could just bring one?
-
@Crowman said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3472877#Comment_3472877
You shouldn't be able to pull double iri addons from the perk. This would mean survivors could pull BNP as well.
Also just a fun meme thing you can do is that you can deactive corrupt at the start by using No Mither and Plot Twist.
It seems random. I dunno what the likelihood of pulling a rare item + double iri add-ons is, but I can’t imagine it’s very high. Not to forget that medkits aren’t exactly good now. And BNP is getting nerfed with this PTB so I don’t really see anything that could overpower survivors, even with the best draw.
