Yep. Shows once again that the Devs were too hasty and a good feature turned into a feature which could have been good.
-
I subscribed today when they announced the exclusive charm.
And I know that I wont get it because Newsletter-Subscription does not work for me.

basement remains unaffected by this change and the devs still insist on keeping this dull mecanic in the game.
I mean, I get that they wanted to fix the vertical camping progression. But with that the Basement is basically free to camp with ease. Which makes it even more frustrating.
-
Yeah, Killers try to camp as much as possible.
I got camped in the Basement, because the Bar did not fill up in a somewhat reasonable pace to allow me to unhook myself while I still heard the Terror Radius because the Killer was camping upstairs.
Yay.
-
Both Perks can have tweaks and can still be very good Perks for their side.
Made for This can easily have the synergy with other Haste-Perks removed, as well as the Endurance-effect and would still be a very solid pick and an alternative to the other Exhaustion-Perks, creating more variety.
Ultimate Weapon can not linger for 30 seconds or can have his lingering effect reduced drastically and would still be one of the best tracking Perks in the game and an Alternative to Aura Reading-Perks or Slowdown-Perks.
-
Not caring and just not playing I guess.
This Wraith does not want you to have fun, he uses this Build to make it miserable for the other side, not to win. (Sad things to do, queueing up to just ruin the experience for others)
So you are probably better off with doing something else while this "game" is going on.

They probably stopped doing kill rate stats because it's a lose-lose stat. Let's take the current meta:
If the kill rates are 'within BHVR's acceptable tolerance' right now, people who scream for MFT nerfs will just ignore it because *x reason*. Likely because they want the kill rate to be higher.
If the kill rates are 'low', BHVR will just get completely ######### on my those same people because 'OMG how had this not been fixed immediately?!?!?'
The community almost never uses kill rate data responsibily. Remember the 'nurse has a very low kill rate and shouldn't be nerfed' arguments? Pepperidge farm remembers.
Personally, I've always wanted to see how high kill rates got during the gen kick meta. I suspect 65-70% or even higher, but I have no actual data to back that up except the sudden 'break glass' nerf to eruption they accelerated into a mid chapter patch, which is pretty rare for them.
Well said, it is pretty much this.
The DBD-Community is not ready for stats. I remember back then when Stats were released, the major complaint was that it was not shown how it was in Red Ranks, because the usual Killer Mains here claimed that the stats did not add up. Next time it was with Red Ranks and overall, and then suddenly the main argument against it was that you cannot see platforms.
And some others said that the Devs were simply lying because Pig had a high Killrate and Nurse had a low Killrate... If the stats dont match with the personal experiece, they are wrong.
If anything, the Killrate-Stats show that Killer is not as bad as some people claim it to be. But who would have thought that players who say they are high MMR, but apparently lose every game because they go against the best players in the world every game might be wrong...

God forbid survivors ever be punished for bad plays.
Yeah, Killers should be rewarded for the skillful play of...standing in front of the Hook.
-
Would be quite a lot to see in the HUD, dont really know if this would make sense when it comes to readability.
IMO it should be shown ingame when you press ESC (the screen where you see names and Pings of each Survivor). Some form of knowing which Perks your teammates bring should 100% be in there, SWF have those information, Solos not.
-
I never got them as well. I subscribed with my regular Email adress and never received anything. And I tried many times over the past years, but since it never works, I stopped bothering.

I feel that is to close to Darkness Revealed. It's a decent change for UW don't get me wrong but Darkness Revealed already kinda do that but with aura instead of screaming. I feel that just makes the two to similar to each other.
I get this point, however, Ultimate Weapon would still be way better than Darkness Revealed. Simply because it has less counters. They have some counters which are similar (hiding in Lockers, at least after UW is fixed), but against screaming only Calm Spirit will really help and this Perk is very niche. Against Aura-Reveal however you have Distortion or even Off the Record (for a limited time), which are better and work against more things.

Yeah, this perk definitely needs this buff. 100+ perks that do almost nothing can wait another 3 years or so, while we buff already strong perks, lol.
Background Player a strong Perk? Really?
Only because OP went against a pretty inexperienced Killer (not throwing anything against OP here, but someone who lets themselves blind 8 times while picking up a Survivor is really not good or experienced) does not make the Perk suddenly good.
-
If you say you want a counter-argument, can you first elaborate why you think that the removal of Hook Grabs was a bandaid-fix? BHVR never said this and from their communication it looks like they were very sure that this is a feature that has overstayed its welcome.

@Shroompy said:
To me its not overpowered, just over tuned.
Opening the locker doesn't cause people to scream, it makes the perk activate and the moment some one is in your Terror Radius within 30 seconds, the killer knows where you are and because of a bug that makes Survivors scream in lockers (only for this perk btw) it makes it have 0 counterplay.
My main problem is the activation time. It needs to be reduced DRASTICALLY as 30 seconds allows you to basically cover a large majority of the map, if not the whole thing. Information is a very strong tool and for Ultimate Weapon to not only have one of the strongest effects, but also having it so easily accessible is just dumb.
Pretty much this. I would ignore the Bug, because, well, it is a Bug and will be fixed rather sooner than later.
But that it follows the Killer is way too much. Playing against something like a high-mobility Killer or a Nurse is really painful when they have Ultimate Weapon.
IMO even if the Perk would not linger and would just work on a radius after opening a Locker with a 30 second Cooldown, it would still be very strong. It would basically be a Static Blast for every Killer, so a Killer Ability as a Perk. This would already be good. But that it is lingering is just too much IMO.

Did I not explain twice how that doesn't do anything. The stagger from falling off the haybale doesn't slow enough to stop them from making it to the window again without trouble, and it's easy enough to get around the harvester afterwards that the game drops chase because of LoS, stopping a window block or bloodlust. I had a match with a swf using a coldwind offering. Any chase I had, they ran to the harvesters. I was Wesker of all killers. Vaulting with his power wasn't fast enough, being 115% wasn't fast enough.
You seem to be chasing in a strange way when you lose chase. I dont lose chase while going after a Survivor. Sure, they get the Window 2 or maybe even 3 times, but it is not like it wastes that much time to begin with.
If you lose chase and cannot build up Bloodlust or an Entity-Blocker that way, it is most likely on you.

I wouldn't mind nerf if 99 heal didn't exist.
Also there are survivors who refuse to heal and gain buff from Resilience so I don't think it's very problematic.
They dont heal because healing with Sloppy Butcher wastes a lot of time, especially if the Killer can interrupt the heal.
@Topic:
I 100% agree, Sloppy Butcher is currently overtuned. IMO since they changed Hemorrhage and with the Nerf to Medkits and Healing in general, Sloppy Butcher is too good for how easy it is to apply. At the very least, it should lose Hemorrhage, I dont think that Hemorrhage and Mangled should exist at the same time, inflicted by the same Perk or Add-On (with the Exception being Gift of Pain, since 99ing would remove a good portion of the Perk).
It is also noticeable that you see Sloppy Butcher on basically every Killer who deals damage with M1s and Killers who have Add Ons which inflict Mangled often also use those.

I distinctly remember the points showing up as soon as the toolbox was empty.
This never was a thing.
The reason why Medkits grant BPs when healing someone else is an incentive to use them on others instead of yourself. There would not really be a point to add them to Toolboxes.
But IMO repairing Gens should grant more BPs. 1250 BPs for a full Gen is not really a lot considering that you spent around 90 seconds on it and other actions grant not much less or even more BPs in a way shorter timefrime. And 4 Great Skill Checks is basically the same...

Agreed on both. Survivors don't need a buff to vault speeds, that's what the whole slow/medium/fast vault distinctions are for.
Fun thing to say when fast vaults feel like medium vaults.

They aren’t, you just don’t like what I am saying. Same with those showering you with upvotes. An echo chamber indeed.
Oh, they surely are. Maybe you should consider taking a break from the game, it does not really look like you have fun.
-
Neither.
If someone wants to camp, they camp. That they have a Perk which is very good at finding out the location of Survivors when they leave the Hook does not change that they want to camp.
If anything, Ultimate Weapon is used as a excuse for camping. "My Perk said that someone is nearby, so I camped"...
-
To an extend, yes. Dont agree with some points on the list at all and some I would rank differently (e.g. I would rank Boil Over at the highest Tier, because you almost never see this Perk in a regular Build, only in Builds of people who want to keep running somewhere where you cannot really hook them instead of doing normal gameplay).
Funny thing is - since this video is up I saw way more Pentimentos than before. So yeah, thanks for that Otz...
And I totally agree on Pentimento, it is a stupid Perk. You waste so much time with it, not only have you a 30% Debuff, but cleansing Totems also takes time. And it is a Perk which impacts SoloQ more than SWF. Especially because you can have teammates who just cleanse Dull Totems... I went against a Wraith yesterday, they had Pentimento, Haunted Grounds, Undying and Devour Hope. After cleansing 3 Totems (Haunted Ground twice and Devour Hope) they only had Pentimento left. Yet a Kate on my team cleansed the remaining two Dull Totems, so that we had to do 5 Pentimentos in total...
And of course the point of Otz stays - Survivors should not be punished for doing side Objectives. I dont cleanse Dull Totems anyway, because you cannot afford it nowadays, but Pentimento is another reason to not cleanse Dull Totems.

playing well =/= being able to round the entire map multiple times with the help of an unbalanced perk (perk combo in this instance)
Doesnt change the fact that OP did not want to build pressure, but tried to be sweaty and is now upset that it did not work out.

because they are going for a slug play for pressure since it's end game.
You should have read OPs response. They were not going for a slug to build pressure, they were slugging because they wanted a 4K. Assuming that they had 2 Survivors dead already before all Gens were done (No Way Out probably triggered with just two Survivors alive) and they could have gotten a 3K, it is their fault for messing up.
If someone cannot accept that they won with a 3K and want a 4K so desperate, they should not be mad if it ends up in a 2K because the Survivors played well.
(Same with Survivors who want 4 people out and throw themselves at the Killer and get at least another Survivor killed instead of just accepting that "only" 3 Survivors escaped...)

Voice Chat would not close the Gap between Solos and SWFs.
@Topic:
Yeah, I think you should see your teammates Perks once you are in a Trial. Just add them to the screen which shows names and pings. I would not put them into the Lobby since this might lead to dodging.
Would not be against a Indicator for Deliverance as well, but seeing the Perks of your team is a must IMO.

I had no idea, that explains so much. I thought they either really loved RE or just wanted to annoy me.
Thanks, now I'll know it's probably for a completely wholesome reason.
I mean, at least I would think that this is the main reason. When I would want to send the Killer to a map where they have a hard time, RPD is probably one of the last maps I would choose. It is not really a favorite on either side. (Except for Stealth Killers probably)
-
@BubbaDredge said:
If RPD is killer-sided, why do survivors burn offerings for it so often? That's second only to gradeschool in my experience.
The achievement is hard to get and takes some time. (To open the Gates on RPD 20 times)
I was in a lobby with a streamer two times in a row and they sent us to RPD because they grinded the achievement. I would also not really say that it is survivor-sided and that this is the main reason why it is burned.

you missed the part where that only worked for blight, because hes so mobile.
That you think it only really works on Blight does not mean that this is the reality. I see Ultimate Weapon on other Killers than Blight as well. People would not run the Perk if it would be only good on one Killer.

"I replaced Lethal and BBQ with UW and slotted Pain Res into the empty slot, same info, more regression."
That's part of the problem with it. It's just better than every other information perk. You removed 2 perks from your build and got the same information (or better) with only 1 perk.
The Blindness is fine. It countering WoO is fine. What isn't fine is its ability to be an on-demand, moving version of Static Blast that can basically cover the entire map in that 30 seconds it's active. It's not just a Blight problem either. It shouldn't last nearly as long and the cooldown needs to be longer.
+ that this opened up a Perk Slot for a Slowdown-Perk, probably the strongest Perks Killers have. Should just show how good Ultimate weapon is.
@Topic:
It is still the best Information Perk released since Lethal Pursuer, and maybe even better than this. Plus the synergy with Dead Mans Switch can be really disgusting. And there is not really a counter against screaming, since Calm Spirit is more of a trap than anything else. (I would say that it will still be overtuned when they fixed the Bug that it works against Survivors in Lockers)

Blight, Freddy, Twins and Billy are already on the list.
Probably it will be around March~July 2024 I guess.
I think even later. Twins are early 2024 and I doubt that they will really squeeze Blight and Freddy before Twins.
But would be nice if he gets Updates. Myers is the prime example of an outdated design. When I started playing, players rated him as an A-Tier Killer, nowadays he is among the weakest Killers. And yet he has some of the most broken things with Tombstones and Unlimited Evil.
He deserves some Buffs and also his broken Add Ons should be nerfed/reworked.
-
We dont do this here in this forum, please stop.
On a more serious note - not really sure what they can do to Midwich or RPD. They wanted to stay really close to the material they get from the respective games, so they either they move away from this or they are very limited. And IMO RPD was better before they split the map. It is still bad for the same reasons it was bad before, but now it is very easy to hold a 3-Gen there because the Map is so small.
When it comes to Dead Dawg, I think they would need to change the whole concept of the Map. And remove many breakable Walls. Their idea was to make the structures slightly stronger but add Breakable Walls, which make them much weaker. The small size adds to it.
So for starters they should remove some Walls and replace the structures with the standard structures (e.g. Shack should not have a breakable Wall, but also shrinked down to normal Shack, T/L-Walls dont have a breakable Wall, but are also replaced with regular T/L-Walls). And if then the Map is still as Killer-sided, they might want to increase its size a little bit, but nerf the Main Building to compensate for it.

Yet they still decided to release it. Full price. Stop making excuses.
I mean...Are you ok?
Why should they not release something they worked on and invested money in?
-
The Skin was probably in the pipeline long ago. They also released Skins for her even if she is quite an unpopular character to play, so I guess those were already worked on when she released.
You can expect that this Skin was being worked on several months ago before they even knew that there would be a rework. Let alone that the Balance Department will not be involved in anything what the design team does and vice-versa.
-
Harassment is one thing. This happens usually to streamers, so it is a feature for them. However, this can also happen to regular players. Back in the day there was a small Streamer who seemingly hated me. Apparently I went to his chat to insult him (at least this is what he said when I watched the VOD of a game we played against each other). Obviously I dont do such things, I watch the VODs of Streamers I go against, but I dont interact with them (neither in a positive nor negative way).
And back in the day switching Killer in Lobby was still possible. So this streamer always switched to Nurse with a Mori when I was in their Lobby. Back then an anonymous mode would have made sense for a regular player like me. (I did not really encounter said streamer back then, Dedicated Servers increased the player size I encounter so much that I rarely go against the same person twice nowadays. But I have faced them in fact a few weeks ago, and they were still targetting me, lol)
Another things is just that some people dont want to go full private on their profile. They enjoy that other see their profile, but dont want DBD-players to see it. One reason might be comments since this community is really whiny and you get some childish -rep-comment on your profile for basically everything. Also maybe they want to hide things which might lead to increased queuetimes. Like, my profile is private because of my high hours in DBD. This leads to a lot of dodging, so I just go private to avoid this and get games in a reasonable time. If I would play other Onlinegames on Steam where I want people to see my profile, I would not go private on Steam but use anonymous mode.
It is good that the feature exists. It was asked for this for a long time.
-
Some people will probably disagree, mainly because it does not suit their narrative. But you cannot really have some stats on Nightlight and take them as gospel and then say that others are not valid.
And for me, I would not call RPD or The Game survivor-sided. They lean more towards killer-sided. It is very easy on RPD to 3-Gen, you almost always have two Gens in the Main Hall and at least one nearby. And even if there is only 1 Gen in the Main Hall you have two or more nearby.
And when it comes to The Game - people always complain about the safe Pallets, but once a Pallet on this Map is broken there is not really anything to work with in that area.
-
Eh, depends. Mainly on my mood and how my experience with a certain role was.
Currently I prefer Killer because my Survivor-experience is not really good. I got sandbagged by the same Elodie twice today and in the same game had to bleed out for 4 minutes. And I had a Haddie today who was always cancelling my heal when I tried to heal her against a Spirit with 4 Slowdown-Perks (including Sloppy Butcher). This lead to the heal regressing all the time, because she apparently did not understand what Hemorrhage does.
And stuff like that makes it really hard to enjoy Survivor. As Killer I dont have any teammates who can annoy me, when I lose, it is on me and not anyone else.
-

The DC BOTS are like a 3rd team. You have The Killer, The Survivors and The DC BOTS which are in their own world.
Yeah. They also seem to be drawn to Z-Walls. Sometimes I watch a Bot when it gets chased by the Killer and they almost always end up at a Z-Wall where they try to crouch. I would guess they go to the nearest Window or Pallet and in the end, it is a Z-Wall.
-
One game I was injured on a Gen (last Gen, I have Adrenaline and Resilience). The Bot which was around for some time came to my Gen and wanted to heal me. I ignored it, so the Bot went on the Gen and immediatly let go of it to crouch next to me. Waited for a few seconds before he went back on the Gen. He repeated this all the time and got 4 failed Skill Checks (the ones you get when you let go off a Gen...really annoying).
Really helpful Bots...

The same reason why 0(!)/1 hook Mori's, 5omega blink nurse, instasaw billy, machine gun builds, burger king Myers, og wraith/spirit, forever Freddy/legion, old ruin, etc aren't a thing anymore.
Exactly. Because both sides receive Nerfs and Buffs and people who focus only on one side getting Buffs or Nerfs are simply ignoring a lot of stuff.
I just think that it is a bad take to think that Survivors never get Nerfs, since they got a lot of Nerfs over time. And so did Killers. And both sides got buffs as well.
But saying that Survivors are kept strong so that more people spend money and Killers are drawn to the game via licenses and BHVR does not care about Killer players who play a long time is just made-up nonsense.

- Why does garden of joy window still exist?
- Why hasn't badham been nerfed?
- Why is MFT still not nerfed?
- Why is buckle up + FTP still a thing
- Why are they gutting skull merchant to be completely useless despite the fact that 3gen is beatable, and they could have simply fixed it by taking the "while working a gen drones don't affect you" part and just made that as part of the currently live kit?
- Why did they nerf alien tail attack even though alien is objectively weaker than blight and nurse and neither of them have been touched?
- Why do they STILL not have something in place to deal with the fact that SWF using discord get literally, and i mean literally i counted, 90+ perks for free, and many other things that aren't perks?
- Why are tournaments such a joke that only 2 killers are viable in them?
- Why are tournament such a joke that the only way they become playable is by:
- Creating some kind of "point system" that isn't about escapes vs kills so that killers stand a chance
- Hindering survivors in some way by preventing them from bringing duplicate perks or items, or locking down addons to a certain level?
- Why is it this community for some reason thinks that this is the only multiplayer game in existence where you can't balance around the top level
- Why is it that the game, despite being in its "most balanced state ever" is still extremely survivor sided at the top level
- Why is it that the devs continue to ignore killers like trapper because "won't someone think of the new players"
Man, I dont answer to over 10 strawmans just for you not accepting my answer. But nice try.

Dont worry, some Solos dont work on Gens when someone else is chased. The indicator means nothing to them. And the good Survivors already know what to do when they dont get chased.

Typical survivor logic. Blaming killers for all their problems and thinking they can't do anything wrong whatsoever. News flash my guy both sides have tools to make the game infuriating for the other. Not every survivor is poor lil angles who are being bulled by the big bad killer.
Meh.
The thing is, Survivors cannot really do anything to prevent the Killer from playing the game or earning BPs. Killers can do that to Survivors. Like, a Killer will not have a worse game when they get teabagged, they can still play like normally. If they feel offended by someone pressing crouch, it is up to them.
However, if a Killer decides to be toxic and just facecamps everyone to death for the joy of it, this Survivor does not really get anything from it.
Both sides have toxicity and you will probably see more from Survivors, simply because there are 4 times as many Survivors compared to Killers in a game. However, Killer toxicity is more impactful.

Yeah, but according to the person I quoted, those Killer players are drawn to the game with licenses. Their point was that Survivors are kept strong because they generate more money and Killers are drawn to the game (replacing old Killer mains) with new licenses.
And yet, if this would be true, why nerf Survivors at all?
(I mean, the take I quoted was just really bad and everyone should know this)

@Zenislev said:
The mistake you're making here is assuming that the killer experience matters to BHVR. It doesn't. There's 4 survivors to every one killer and considering survivors play the game in 3rd person and the characters themselves are mostly just skins, they're going to be way more likely to buy cosmetics. That means that BHVR has a pretty vested interest in keeping them as happy as can be. if that means giving them a ton of information, making perks like BT basekit, on top of giving them busted perks that let them extend chases forever, while designing maps such that they have an easy time looping killers forever, all while gutting any killer perks and strats to ensure that survivors have a good time, then yeah, they're going to do all of that.
Killers sell on name brand recognition. There's always someone that'll go "Oh #########, a game that lets me play a freddy krueger and nemesis? I'm in!". There's always going to be new killer players to feed to grinder, so they don't have to bother trying to retain them, so the killer experience is going to get worse and worse and worse, and it won't matter. Killers aren't getting #########.
If BHVR wants to cater to Survivors, why have Survivors received so many Nerfs since 2016?
Why did they not keep Infinites in the game? Or Perks in their base state? No Exhaustion, but Perks on 20 second Cooldown?

Neither Looping nor Flashlights are bullying. I can somewhat get behind to get upset about T-Bagging, but if this is the biggest offense... I dont know if this is really worth to complain about.

Did you try to restart your game? Verifying your gamefiles? Re-installing?
Usually restarting should help, sometimes (it has become pretty rare), the game tells you that it is looking for a match, but is not actually doing anything. For me a restart always fixed it.
-
"I could be wrong, but I have already seen some 'upset' people stating as much on the game's various socials."
This happens all the time. Whenever Killer gets a slight nerf, players come up with "Guess there will be more camping/tunneling/slugging" and "We will only play Nurse/Blight/Wesker from now on"...
As if both things dont happen anyway. It is just blabbering, I doubt that we will see more slugging. I also doubt that the Anti-Camp Mechanic will have much impact. At least not to the degree people are claiming it.

Reinstall your GPU drivers and check if the game is actually running with the GPU.
On my GPU it happened that at some point it was not used anymore, so when I tried to start a game, it would use the graphics chip from my CPU, which had similar results.
