  • I would agree on the Axe Movement Speed, Huntress slows down for a reason, so I dont know why Springtrap can be so fast.

Also I think Bonnies Guitar Strings should be reworked, with a map-wide teleport it is too good to have an Add On which gives you Aura Read on Gen Progress, especially when the Doors are that close to the Generators.

I think it is save to start with that and see from there if any more changes are needed. But at the very least Bonnies Guitar Strings should be reworked, this is the minimum they should do rather quickly.

It is relevant… cause without that 6% not many people used it

And I do agree to the part that if they did remove the 6% it would still be used… but that's cause people have seen it's use

Would disagree. It had 5% before and was barely used. It got used a lot when they made it permanent instead of only being active for 60 seconds at the start of the Trial. The 1% they added to it did not really cause this.

  • @RaSavage42 said:

It's due to Daja Vu was buffed to include a 6% bonus to repair speed

This is barely relevant. You can remove the 6% right now and the Perk would be almost used as much as before. 6% saves barely anything. I guess if anything it is a dopamine boost because the Bar is yellow.

The big strength of Deja Vu is simply that you can see Generators and have it easier to find them.

  • IMO the first thing they should do (and this can and should be done rather quickly) is to nerf Bonnies Guitar Strings. Showing the Gen Progress via Aura-Read while having a map-wide teleport (especially with Doors being VERY close to Gens) as an Add On is just too strong. They should completely rework the Add On.

At least then the Killer would need to use a Perk like BBQ to find Gens which are being worked on. Which is a bigger investment than just an Add On.

This should be the first step, ideally in Hotfix 1 or 2, because you really dont need to study rocket science to see that this Add On is problematic and will probably be overused. If other measurements are needed, they can do them later, but reworking this Add on should be the first step and it would be a somewhat mild nerf compared to changing anything basekit.

  • I dont think that I can think of 5 Killer Perks I hate. There are some I dislike, but hate is a bit strong. I hated a few in the past, mainly because they were overtuned (e.g. Weave Attunement, where you had to perform some triangulation to find the Item someone else dropped or original Ultimate Weapon, which had a way too big area of effect).

But if I would have to make a list (in no particular order):

    1. Franklins Demise —> This is a Perk I hate. Because it is not really good, but the second I decide to bring an Item (I usually dont bring Items, most of the time only when I do Adepts) and a White Ward, Franklins Demise will spawn in the Killers Inventory. I am also mainly seeing it during Anniversary Events, so I lean towards the fact that many Killers only bring it to be annoying.
    2. Bamboozle —> I dont hate it, but I also really dont like it. I feel that it is a brainrot-Perk, because People mainly use it to just block every Window instead of just running the Tile correctly. Sure, it helps for Tiles like Shack, but I think the strong Windows for which the Perk was initially created are very rare nowadays and nowadays it is just used by people who dont want to bother learning how to run a T/L-Wall.
    3. NOED —> This is a Perk I actually hate. I think it is really cheap and the Counterplay is still just bad, since cleansing Dull Totems is really a waste of time. But it is quite uncommon since its Nerf, but the Nerf did not change the core problem I have with the Perk.
    4. Pentimento —> Highly dislike this Perk, since Side Objectives (if someone is really doing them…) should not be punished that hard. Got better with the Nerf, but mainly because less people are playing it now.
    5. Stridor —> Just dislike it, since it is only good on one single Killer and basically worthless on any other Killer. Even people who complained heavily about Iron Will never used Strider, even when it countered Iron Will. I just think it is super bad game design if a Perk is only good on one Killer.

So yeah, out of those 5, I only hate Franklins and NOED, the rest is disliked. I hated Perks in the past, e.g. Eruption (obviously), Knock Out, original Undying… But mainly because they were overtuned.

I know for a fact you don’t have more hours lmao nice try. There’s no way you put more than an extra 1-200 hours in event modes. So still you barely play killer at all. All these stats have done is exposes people who act like they have balanced opinions. 300 hours on Billy is literally nothing when you have thousands on survivor.

I most likely have more hours on Killer than you overall. But I will not change your mind anyway, so thats fine. I obviously have nearly 11k hours only on Survivor and 3 hours on Killer.

  • @oxygen said:

Actually positively surprised, guess they do realize that having an automated system not only cause false positives but even do so when something that might've been frustrating already (getting tunneled) was then followed up with getting punished for it.

It's way way better to err on the side of caution. Will it mean people that "should" be hit by the system might get away with it here and there? Probably. Is that WAY better than false positives on innocent players? Without question.

Exactly. I would rather see some people being able to quit for free, even if they should have received penalties than seeing people getting penalties for not doing anything wrong.

”surprisingly.” My guy, every update that gets released is half baked🤣

I would not go that far, some Updates are more polished than others. But calling Bugs in a DBD-Update "surprising" or "surprisingly" is really odd, lol.

64 hours for your highest killer explains so much when it comes to your view on balance. You’re a survivor main through and through. I have 700 hours on Huntress 300 on Leon and 209 on David. You should actually play killer more.

I have most likely way more hours on Billy. As you see in this thread, many people say that the hours do not really seem to be right.

And nah, sorry, I just am not part of this echo chamber of people who claim to be at the highest MMR and act in this Forum as if they would still lose way more than they win. Sorry to disappoint you. :( You really thought you had me there.

  • Or if the Killer burns a Hatch-Offering they know where the Hatch is and can close it as soon as possible. Which is exactly your argument, just for the other side.

  • Yes, they were not lenient enough with the system. Especially because it was a QoL-Update (without the Quality…) and probably aimed towards better new player experience. Guess what, a new player dies faster and a new player is more likely to miss Skill Checks on the Hook and therefore getting a penalty.

Just imagine you are new at the game and after your first game or so where you had no idea what you are doing and die on the Hook in second stage, since you are not used to Skill Checks yet, you get a DC-Penalty. This person will likely refund the game on the spot.

They should have been way more lenient with the system. It is better to not punish someone who wants to go next instead of punishing people who did nothing wrong.

  • Yeah, you are right. Dont know why, but I only read 1% when checking the wiki.

    Such a strange Nerf.

I dont think all the stats are accurate for everyone cause i played more then 50 hours of nemesis and it says i played 2. Also my played hours are 120 when i have steam hours of 1200 and im either always ingame or in queue, so there is no way those stats are correct

Yeah, I am also not really sure about the hours the more I think about it. My most played Survivor is Nea, but I only playex her for around 770 hours. This sounds low.

For Killer it is Billy, which would be correct, but I only played him for around 64 hours. And especially before Overheat there was a time where I played only Billy for weeks and no other Killer.

  • Not played on Live yet, but on the PTB the Hook Layout was fine. So probably bad RNG?

  • I am mainly surprised by how low the hours seem to be. Since it only tracks the time in the actual trial, I realized that I spend A LOT of time not really playing the game but being in the Lobby or Loading Screens.

Killrate is what I expected, most of the time around 60%, slighly above. My most successful Killer is one of my most hated ones (with Hag, I knew I am decent with her, but around 70% Killrate was a bit surprising). Not surprised that Singularity was my worst Killer, I am too dumb for it.

well i ask since on the ptb how it worked was if a gate was 99'd it would regress back to 50% which is why it said up to 50% progression

If it worked like this in the PTB, then it will most likely work like this on Live. And yes, then it is clearly a Nerf and makes the Perk worse than I thought it is. (Even when regressing to 0 I dont think that the Perk is worth using, but if it only Regresses to 50% or even 80%, it is not worth running at all)

  • The Patch is out for a little bit over an hour. Nobody will be able to make an educated guess right now.

  • I understand the Perk in a way that once 80% Progression are hit, it will start regressing. And if left alone, it will regress to 0%.

  • Settings —> Graphics —> Gamma.

I understand "Disconnection penalty points decrease as you play matches without disconnecting (previously decayed at the rate of 1 point per day)." as -1 for each match you play without disconnecting.

    So:

    DC: +1, total 1

    play: -1, total 0

    DC: +1, total 1

    play: -1, total 0

No, you save those points. And the first point is only removed if you play 20 matches without DCing, since only the last 20 matches are counted.

So technically, one Penalty Point is saved for 20 games and in the 21st it is removed.

Overall, the Disconnect Penalty is more harsh, since most players probably did not play 20 games/day.

  • No. If someone DCs every two matches, they will get a DC-Point every second match.

    DC Game 1 - 1 point

    No DC Game 2 - 1 point

    DC Game 3 - 2 points

    No DC Game 4 - 2 points

    And so on.

So if you DC 5 times in a row, you have 5 Penalty Points. You keep those until you play 20 matches. Then when you play the 21st match, only the last 20 matches will count and you will have 1 Penalty Point less. At Game 26 without any DCs you will have 0 Penalty points, since the first 5 games are not counted anymore.

This is how I understand it.

Yeah, but all it takes is two healthy survivors to take hits and it is nullified.

IMO the main purpose of the Perk is anyway that Survivors should open the Gate instead of leaving it 99ed.

  • I would rather see it as a Buff and not as a Nerf, since most Exit Gates are 99ed if not opened immediatly. So whether it is 50% or 80% of Progress is not relevant most of the time, but having it regress at 100% instead of 50% is better.

  • @Daniel_Silva04 said:

The only nerf I thought was right was the Babysitter one, because it was really stupid for the survivor to run faster than the killer for a whole 30 seconds.

Since you usually have another target nearby when an Unhook happens and you are right there, this is no issue.

    @Topic:

Agreed. I dont think that any of the Perks were problematic. I disliked Batteries Included, because I think that Endgame-Builds are boring, but this does not mean that the Perk was too good, just personal preference.

To be fair, sometimes you can have a better understanding of something in DBD that no one else has, not even the balance team.

I can think of one perfect example, my dear friend. Just look at my pfp.

Sure, but the way it was worded it sounds like the Devs are doing most of the things wrong and need to be corrected. While the reality is that most changes are good, but people focus only on the bad things.

I also dont think that Freddy is a good example to be honest. Since the Rework was appreciated by the majority of the community and only in hindsight it was seen how bad the Rework was. Sure, there were some people who did not like the Rework (e.g. you), but those were really in the minority back then.

Would be great for the devs to tell us these reasons instead of blindly nerfing things out of nowhere so we can correct them on their mindset/approaches to changing characters.

We still dont know why Artist, Merchant, Billy, Twins got their nerfs.

It is incredible entitled to think that you have the knowledge to correct something the Devs do.

EDIT: Not saying that all their changes are a hit, but they are also not all misses either.

To be fair. The alien rework originally as well. To have everyone say "aliens too weak currently" to then try to nerf them again to the point like they had no power. To then realize how bad their mistake was a buff tf out of them for live release. I wouldnt say all changes are the best.

Never said that all changes are the best. The person I initially replied to said that things get nerfed to no reasons, which is just wrong, since the Devs apparently have reasons.

  • @CrossTheSholf said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3943475#Comment_3943475

Right .... That's why they proposed the changes to artist?

I mean… Yes? The Devs dont just do things because one side complains or not. Otherwise we would have had a lot of Survivor-Perks nerfed into the Ground and a lot of Killer Perks nerfed into the Ground as well (plus a lot of Killers). The Devs act if they think they need to act. This might align with what people are asking for or not.

But for some reason on this Forum, people act as if it is enough to have three Survivors complain about something to get it nerfed.

  • You did not answer my question. If you dont provide any information, it would have been better if you would have just not written anything. There is no possibility to have any discussion if you write basically nothing except for cryptic nonsense.

  • I mean, you won against the actual player(s). It is not relevant if you kill the Bot or the player in the end, you won against the players either way.

  • This is such a niche situation, especially because the 4% will be removed. But I have to say, even if they would have stayed in the game, it is very unlikely that you would recover from 4 people being in the dying state or on the Hook. Most likely the Killer would have just go after you again before doing anything else.

  • @TheGoone said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3943446#Comment_3943446

Still sucks when even mid add-ons get destroyed for no reason though

If there would be no reason to nerf them, then they would be nerfed. It should be obvious that the Devs thought those Add Ons were too good, even if you might disagree.

  • Why does it matter to you that the Survivor sees it? You see the Mori either way, regardless if you mori a player or a Bot.

  • I think it is fine that it is afflicts Broken and also that it does this from the start. In the end, the Perk is some form of Challenge-Perk AND it fits to the character, since it basically puts a Target on your back so that the Killer goes after you and not your friends/the other Survivors.

I would just change two things:

    • It should reduce Grunts of Pain by 100%.
    • It should not spawn any Blood Orbs.

And then the Perk will be fine. Obviously still a Perk you dont want to use if you want to maximize your chance of Survival, but still a Challenge-Perk.

  • We have Nicolas Cage and FNAF in the game, so why not.

  • The Perk does not seem to work with some Perks. E.g. I was unhooked with STB while having DS and my DS did not activate.

  • I dont really know why they had to slap Deep Wound on him at all. It was not really needed.

But yeah, something about the Cooldown after a Leap, whether it be cancelling it mid-leap or slower movement speed after cancelling or longer cooldown.. Something like this. Because those Hits are sadly still way too cheap.

And I dont understand why he has to vault so fast over Pallets and Windows… Guarantees a Hit at most Pallets.

But honestly, I have come to peace with Ghoul. I know I wont have fun this game and just accept that, because they wanted to have an overtuned cashgrab in the game.

I think the perk is bugged. I haven't noticed any increase in healing speed when using Do No Harm at all.

I think it increases healing speed, but you will not really notice it that much, since nobody is using the Perk, since it is quite bad. Most of the time you heal after an Unhook and We Will Make It is just better at it. (Does not help that they are buffing Botany Knowledge right after the Patch where Do No Harm was released.)

However, the Bar not turning yellow is a Bug.

  • What thing are they doing right now which hints on an unexpected license? I cannot really follow your thought.

Got em! We need to balance for the average clueless player if you start talking about how imbalanced tryhard SWF is but when it comes to killers we need to balance the game like every killer player is KnightLight or Hens

Aside from that the person you are quoting managed to chase themselves around Shack for so long that they triggered the (very generous) AFC-feature… So, an average clueless player indeed.

    @Topic:

She probably will never receive any meaningful Nerfs. Meaningful in a way that not every Tier LIst starts with "Strongest Killer is Nurse, you know why". I am also not really sure what exactly they should do to make Nurse a Killer who is still strong, but not the best Killer without question. She probably needs a full rework, since I think that you can only nerf her by making her the worst Killer in the game with her power.

Overall she needs to be more accessible for people who learn her, but also should not result in the player winning almost all of their games after learning her. Because she requires way less effort than other Killers who are weaker than her.

And this was already said - as long as Nurse exists like she does, the Devs can counter every "The game is pay2win"-argument by saying that the strongest Killer is free and comes with the Basegame. So players can complain about Ghoul or Dracula all they like, the strongest Killer is one where you dont have to invest a single Cent.

Also, another obvious reason why we will not see meaningful Nurse-Nerfs is simply the backlash. Killer players spam the Forum for every little Nerf or Survivor Buff, you will turn this into a hell-hole if you do a meaningful Nerf to Nurse.

well yk how most of these situations where ppl act like "omg killer is so op and easy to win" and then other people offer them to play fullon optimal match against an actual competent squad? They become silent, absolutely silent.

Why should those players have to play against "an actual competent squad", when Killer Mains themselves only rarely play against those players?

  • You dont even know what those changes will be. And most of the games you can win without any tunneling, camping or whatever. SOMETIMES it is needed, yes. But not all the time.

MAYBE we can wait what exactly will be changed? Then we can doompost that Killers will be leaving or whatever, just to realize that it was all an overreaction. The usual stuff.

  • Dont understand why OP gets so many Downvotes, they have a point. I would not say that Gen Regression is in such a bad spot currently, I manage with 1 or 2 on most of my Killers and I am doing fine.

However, they should have done something to prevent the stacking of Slowdown-Perks instead of nerfing the individual Perks. But nerfing the individual Perks was the easier way and there is no way that they currently can be buffed. As I said, they are still decent and buffing them would NOT result in players not stacking 4 Slowdown-Perks. However, the people hit by that were those who usually only used 2 Slowdown-Perks max on their Killers.

But I dont see them doing anything to Slowdown anytime soon, because their approach, while not ideal, worked.

This whole issue has been kind of eye opening for me.

Whenever the issue of the remaining survivors just standing at the exit gate tbagging the killer comes up everyone seems to post 'that's BM, it's not good, people shouldn't behave that way, but most of the ideas on how to fix it wouldn't work'.

I never expected quite so many people to be open about not just wanting to win as killer, but feeling it necessary that survivors be there as they spike the ball.

Yeah, I did not want to say it, but it sounds like it is important that the Survivor sees that they lost. Because gameplay-wise, there is 0 difference if there is a Bot or the actual player being hooked. Hooking a Survivor requires 0 skill. And I personally dont care if the last Survivor abandons once I downed them, since I downed the actual player, so I won against them. And if I hook them or a Bot, this should not matter.

And when it comes to actually beating a player, it also does not make a difference if they abandon or not if they were running to the Killer and giving up. Because regardless if the player or the bot get hooked, the Survivor gave up.

  • @Mr_K said:

They really should put in a delay timer to give the killer a chance to hook. I've seen survivors purposely run towards me just to get down and trigger the abandon feature.

But why does it matter if you hook the remaining player(s) instead of the Bots?

  • @mecca said:

Killer behavior is why the abandon feature was even added.

^ This. And for some reason people who complain about such a disparity just ignore this fact.

When a Killer decides to slug until Bleedout, the Survivor can do the following:

    • Crawl around the map at the lowest speed possibly.

They cannot speed up the process or anything. And this for four minutes.

If Survivors decide to wait at the Exit Gate the Killer can do the following:

    • Force them out to end it quicker
    • Walk around the Map, gathering BPs, using their power, breaking Pallets

And even if they decide to just go into a Corner, it would be only for two minutes.

This of course only applies if you are a somewhat mature person and dont get annoyed by the immature pressing of a single button. (Even tho this is quite hypocritical considering that the first thing Killers did with Ghostface was teabagging and it was not uncommon to have Killers humping Survivors for 4 minutes straight…)

If anything, there was a disparity before. And the Abandon-Feature is probably the mildest solution BHVR could have gone for, because it only applies if all Survivors are slugged. If the Killer decides to just not hook someone, you can still be slugged for the full 4 minutes and just bleed out, as long as at least one other Survivor is standing. (Yes, there are Anti-Slugging measurements announced, but we dont know what they will be and they can arrive as late as December…)

I find it ironic and a bit sad that things like base kit BT and AFC get responses like "what are killers supposed to do, they're removing every play style" when it's barely noticeable that those features exist in the long run and trivial to either power through or play around them.

Then the devs go and actually delete "stealth" from their "hide and seek" marketed game.

Yeah, this is kinda sad. It is quite clear that stealth is not wanted anymore. Every Killer nowadays releases with some form of Killer Instinct, which is cannot be countered by any means. Including some Killers which dont even need Killer Instinct (e.g. no reason that Wesker has it).

Distortion nerfed to the ground as well, even tho the Perk was completely fine. The main argument was always that it is used by players who rat out their teammates and guess what - those players still exist, now just more often in a locker. And if Distortion was such a problem, I wonder what Killer players did who dont even use Aura Reads…

That the game overall got brighter is also Anti-Stealth. The Gamma-Settings as well, even tho, I am fine with those. I think they are too bright, but since you can do that with Reshade already, it makes sense to implement it to make it fair for all Platforms.

So yeah, Stealth as a Playstyle is gone and not wanted.

1 … 29 30 31 32 33 … 341
