What skins exactly? Or do you mean the Halloween ones which are meant to be earnable like every year
Dwight and Jane's cosmetics are tagged with "for a limited time only".

Despise FOMO microtransactions. The tactic preys on people with less than stellar impulse control and makes people with limited funds feel less appreciated. It would be one thing if the ever increasing monetization of this game led to an increase in quality. But every release shows quality control and version control is poor.
this exactly.
if you've ever heard the term whale before, it's a gaming industry term for people who spend exorbitant amounts of money on games to the point of financial ruin, often due to, say, poor impulse control or an inability to grasp just how much microtransaction purchases pile up. often bigger studios aim to encourage and manipulate these people into doing so, this being one of many ways of going about it. it's disgusting
-
sometimes i worry i'm too cynical when it comes to this game then this kind of thing happens and i realize there is no such thing
i really hope people don't buy these. if this becomes a regular occurrence, along with some other reasons that'll be apparent very soon i think i'm done with this game. whatever enjoyment i get out of it isn't worth a blatant lack of human decency from the company making it.
-
why am i even surprised at this point, if bhvr is willing to work with companies who have long histories of employee abuse and manipulating their playerbases of course they're gonna adopt their ######### predatory business tactics too.

Ok. I’ll spell it out….
Granted: The person who DC’d is most at fault. They are unsportsmanlike.
But now let’s deal with the new reality. The facts.
Now the game is 3 survivors who are in an unfair game through no fault of their own vs a killer who has a very easy game. The game is now heavily imbalanced in the killer’s favor. You cannot say it is sportsmanlike to play this game from the killer’s perspective. You can say it’s within the rules or that it’s allowed but ‘sportsmanlike’? No.
Survivors can’t do anything to even the odds or make it fair or remedy the situation in some way but the killer CAN. There are various sportsmanlike things to do… let the survivors get a couple gens done before resuming normal play or farm with them for a bit or for the whole game. But the VAST MAJORITY of games where an early quit happens are simple slaughters. Most killers have the mindset of ‘not my fault. I’ll take advantage’. It’s allowed. It’s accepted by BHVR. It happens thousands of times every day. But no way is it sportsmanlike.
good god this is the most entitled thing i've ever read

i saved my shards for it, kind of indifferent to dredge tbh. feels veeeeery map dependent and any "stealth" is completely wrecked by how goddamn noisy it is and the visual effects on lockers. nightfall kind of helps but doesn't last long enough and takes too long to gain to have any meaningful value most of the time. the antiloop doesn't do a whole lot for me either, even if i managed to get good value from it most of the time it's just not very fun to use imo. the visual design and concept is cool but i feel like they just fumbled the execution. same with sadako and most killers after blight's release.

Texas Chainsaw Massacre gets a full chapter with Sally Hardesty as a survivor instead of just Leatherface and the Sawyer house as a map.
ANOES gets the original license instead of the remake.
Silent Hill replaces Cheryl with James so it doesn't have to tie Pyramid Head to an unrelated character.
No Hellraiser NFTs.

it might come back next anniversary but i wouldn't hold your breath. i'm missing the arm piece and it annoys the hell out of me lol

never

yay more non horror collaborations, just what we needed
as long as this doesn't intrude into dbd itself a lot i don't care, skins/charms are whatever but i do still think it's dumb. attack on titan kind of made sense, the for honor collab didn't/doesn't and neither does this. as long as there are no actual characters introduced i guess it doesn't matter a whole lot.

if rpd confuses people i think nowhere would actually drive them insane lol

yeah sure why not
as long as i get to disable it idc

why should DS NOT be meta? is there anything wrong with a fair anti tunnel that cant be forced/abused like OTR?
i don't mind fair anti-tunnel perks but i do mind when it's the same perk for years. kinda gets boring running the same thing over and over again, and with how prevalent tunneling is it'd retake its place as a required perk slot to avoid it
i want options i guess is what i'm saying

thoughts:
phobia mode is interesting. never heard of a game doing anything like it before. not against it as long as there's no advantage to using it
wouldn't hillbilly's addon changes bring back instasaw? i don't think we need that back
i'm sorry but choice restriction sounds really bad. having agency taken away from the player like that would suck. it's justifiable for the killswitch to prevent abusing game breaking issues but perk combos that aren't causing bugs or abuse don't need a system like this
map changes are good
some of the shape changes are good, i could see them being applied to current myers (reduced stalking for drained survivors, stalk regeneration, etc.) but a lot of the add-ons seem to have lost what made them unique (particularly scratched mirror). tombstone piece was busted but judith's tombstone requires so much setup and only really works well in conjunction with fragrant tuft of hair. i say combine the effects of those into one add-on and give the hair tuft a different effect altogether. the one proposed here would easily be the strongest add-on in the game. the achievement change and charm also don't sound great to me, we don't need more exclusives of any kind
really only on board with blight's add-on changes, the rest are kinda iffy imo. iri tag might actually be stronger with 4 rushes, usually you intentionally have to use all your rushes to get value from it even when you have an opportunity for an early hit
perk changes are mostly good but:
breakdown change is horrible
decisive does not need to be meta again
lithe is strong enough in its current state imo, although with the resilience change this might be okay
prove thyself change is unclear. is it just a number reduction or a different effect?
forced penance change is kinda eh, i'd prefer it to remain unchanged except the broken effect lasts until the survivor is downed.
play with your food change sounds like it'd be pretty strong. wouldn't this just be a permanent %15 speed bonus for killers without special attacks?
trail of torment just shouldn't show the generator aura. the undetectable ends after a hit so it's only good for 1 stealth hit anyways.
i'm on board with most of this but i think there are definitely some issues

I'm curious if people will take issue with this change. I remember a thread some months ago where a large portion of people seemed to have the opinion no changes should be made and photosensitive people just shouldn't play.
those people should try staying quiet for once

isn't legion having a larger terror radius a benefit? feral frenzy's detection range is tied to it

I'm glad somebody else said it, I'd much rather an original take on a scary Knight than a licensed one that's not even horror related. I get it's a good marketing opportunity and you gotta get your coin but I really hope that's fake somehow
my main issue is them collaborating with a company known for widespread harassment and abuse and resultant coverups, but honestly a full chapter from a non-horror license is such an absolute letdown too. really hate the direction the game seems to be going in now
-
favorite is silent hill, least favorite is the one releasing in like 2 months.
-
it's hard to understate how much this is going to impact the game's balance and how little thought it seems was put into it.

So you asked what will happen to No Mither. It will provide a 75% reduction to sounds of pain, no pools of blood, and increase the self-recovery time down from 45 seconds. There is no unique benefit, but it compiles multiple other benefits together at the cost of needing to be injured all game.
true but those benefits don't really fit the trade-off at all. no mither had some niche value before, now it just makes you an outright detriment to your team
-
devour will be about as strong as it was before but now significantly less unique, and rancor is literally just a worse noed now
-
i think just straight up erasing an entire strategy from the game is a horrible, short-sighted decision made with no consideration whatsoever for how that's going to impact it solely because of a new, shoehorned in mechanic for a feature that was already nerfed to the ground.
-
i don't think this is going to kill the game but it's going to make it a hell of a lot less enjoyable. might take another year long break if any of this makes it to live tbh.
-
oh that's a custom icon for unbreakable lol
-
legion's hunk skin actually has a unique run animation which is a first
it's also bugged and looks janky as hell though
-
i think traps should have something to partially hide them depending on the terrain they're placed on. traps placed on dirt or grass like in autohaven and macmillan would be covered in leaves and twigs, traps placed in sand like on eyrie would be partially buried, traps placed on floors would be covered by general debris (bits of wood, dirt, that kind of thing). i don't know how easily this could be implemented but i feel like it would cut back trapper's map dependency at least a little bit.

make alchemist ring set your base movement speed to 4.4 and make the speed bonus on crow/rat not stack.

His counterplay remains the same regardless of the add-ons he's using. That's why I've never been big on "Nerf Alchemist's Ring! Nerf Adrenaline Vial!" Should a killer's add-ons not be useful, even at the pink and purple rarity?
useful add-ons are fine, overpowered ones aren't. nobody's asking for blight to have pyramid head levels of useless add-ons (or at least they shouldn't be) but some of them are way too oppressive on an already strong killer.
-
he is a killer in the game

bumping this

are you out of your mind

play blight with unrelenting and enduring and you will not notice it at all

if this game was balanced off of the opinions of redditors we would be in a very, very dire state rn

probably related to the weird new tiles on macmillan

Her appearance may be influenced by her original VA Sandra Wane, but I'm not really sure as I can't find any pictures of her. If that's true (just as it is for James and Maria) then they would have to pay her royalty fees and they may not want to.
actually silent hill 3's cheryl was voiced by heather morris, sandra wane was cheryl in the first game
this is her. i think the issue is less in not wanting to pay royalties and more actually getting into contact with her in the first place as she is retired. a lot of the original silent hill actors are retired and are likely very hard to contact (except thessaly lerner who voiced lisa garland who i really hope they get to reprise the role someday). guy cihi, who voiced james, is a different story but he has a whole other array of issues
-
why are her arms twigs
