there is basically no chance of that.
if the game works well the player retention is better. good player retention is better for business.
they already get enough press when they release the big licensed chapters.
-
abysmally low.
a paragraph/update to add the survivor? maybe but still low chances.
chapter? nope.

Now you just have to explain me how a slugged Survivor can do Totems or Gens.
I'm saying the slugged survivor got to play the game. even if the killer just afk they can't deny points to the survivors.
-
I'm already playing trapper and I can't even protect my bones? seriously?...
-
you are too nice to put myers in just "could use a few tweaks".
he needs big tweaks.
that is a good first step for trapper.
and it's REALLY hard to figure out what to do with nurse. because as you said, she doesn't play dbd. at least not the chase dbd we currently have.
but you can't just change it. because then it's not nurse anymore. and that is always bad. we should never delete characters.

Teabagging neither wastes the Killers time nor does it impact their gameplay at all. Those are not really compareable.
Not saying that slugging until Bleedout should be a bannable offense, since it is not holding the game hostage, it is a dickmove, but not bannable.
it does if they do it instead of leaving the game, and just don't leave until you go watch it for some reason. also never said they are mechanically the same.
dickmove is fair. it's annoying when there's no reason for it. don't know what exactly you decided to defend here...
@Aven_Fallen said:

Yeah, of course, both should not be bannable.
But IMO Killer Toxicity has more impact on gameplay than Survivor toxicity. A Survivor cannot really be toxic and deny the Killer points, make it unable for them to play or waste their time without any other option.
But Killer Toxicity can exactly do this.
why is it a competition? toxic is toxic.
survivors can farm gens and get survival bp for surviving. + bones. unless I missed something don't think you can get hurt by yourself... but survivors still get something to do. they can play and get points.
so don't really see any meaningful difference here

So we make the few people happy and let the overwhelming majority suffer. 2024 style.
a minority of players care for any singular character here. following this logic we delete the entire roster.

Yes I'm judging by time because what else do I judge it with? Entertainment wise waiting for someone to bleed out rather than engaging in a chase seems illogical.
Yeah it would trigger. It wouldn't prolong the game as much as the four minutes since endgame collapse is two minutes. Gate spawns being bad doesn't excuse bleeding out a survivor because you're that desperate for a 4k.
Oni slugs because he's a snowball killer. Solo queue pubstomper most of the time.
and time is a bad judge. tells nothing about the situation and motivations.
the game would end if the survivor wasn't that desperate to not go on hook. just let the killer take you and end the game. but gotta crawl to a deadzone, struggle...
and then complain when people just leave them on the ground.
but I guess it's ok because only the killer gets any blame apparently...
glad we agree.

It's very easy to figure out how long a survivor has been slugged for. If the game for some reason cannot do that, recordings always exist.
What would Adrenaline do when hatch is closed? If you can't find a injured survivor by just patrolling two gates, that's all on you. It is simpler to wait it out indeed. When you close hatch, the endgame timer begins and, if you struggle to hook a survivor in that time frame, it still costs less time than waiting for them to bleed out (two minutes vs four). It's simpler, as mentioned, but a time waste for both sides and mind-numbingly boring.
Oni is a snowball killer. As long as the team know what they are doing, slugging doesn't help.
time is the only thing you are judging here?
trigger? prolonging the game? gate spawns can be bad and the killer might not be able to patrol them. but I guess you don't care...
oni slugs. always has.

This discussion very explicitly talks about being bled out for four minutes, and not slugging as a strategy. A teabag is nothing compared to being bled out for four minutes and isn't even comparable. You could compare it to the humping part for sure in some way, but not that.
If there are no hooks nearby, just close hatch then let them wiggle free. I mean they won't be able to escape, right? Issue solved.
Twins is getting reworked because BHVR is steering away from the slugging playstyle so no killers should have their powers revolve around it anymore.
you cannot separate the two. because it's just "he said she said". the devs can't know which is which, so they can't ban anyone for these. otherwise everyone would have to be banned.
so let them bleed out on the ground for awhile, go look for hatch, close hatch, adrenaline doesn't exist, go find them because they moved, pick them up, they wiggle maybe, another chase, down them again, hook.
seems much simpler to just wait the timer, or the survivor just let the killer hook them. issue solved.
oni isn't.
-
because that is just the game.
harassment, and other stuff is what would actually get them banned.
this is the equivalent of asking a ban for a t-bag.

not when everything is strong in different ways. look at dota 2 for example.

That would lead to power creep though and I would rather not have every killer at Nurse/Blight level and have survivors then buffed.
though lower tiered killers do need to be brought up of course and not only high ones down.
balance by everything being strong is more fun than balance by everything being mid.

who said it needed to finish burning before the trial? it's in the fire, the entity accepted it, so it takes effect.

I can only speculate, but I think it is easier for them to see the result of the Add On-changes first before changing the Basekit as well. They probably wanted to change both (Basekit and Add Ons), but only pushed the Add Ons to Live for now and the impact of this will determine how much Blight will be changed. If Blight keeps stomping Survivors left and right, the changes will be more significant than if Blight is noticeable weaker than before due to the Add On-Nerfs (which will most likely not be the case, lets be real, he still has many strong Add Ons).
That being said, even a change to Blight should not happen as long as Nurse is even more busted.
then they are doing this backwards. basekit changes have a big impact, so starting with them and changing the add-ons later as needed would be the best option.
now the changes will be, add-ons, basekit, add-ons. which is more time devoted to blight instead of another killer.
-
the entity doesn't always messes with people's lives. sometimes it justs takes them.
entity causing the accident would be weird. it would make more sense if it was influencing the nurse in the asylum.
and I think it would make the hillbilly story worse. sometimes it's better to just let people suck than make it be a big bad.
as for the question... some would be living exactly the same as before, like huntress.
some would be in jail, like clown.
some would be living a normal life, like the artist.
any movie or game characters, just watch/play the series.
too many characters and lore to just list here from the top of my head.

this is a game all about all the stereotypical types of slasher killers from movies. and we got most of them here.

I really hope that's the case here. If it is, wouldn't it make more sense for the devs to roll it out when it's actually needed rather than in this weird transitional state where it looks and feels awful?
There's also a good chance that this was yet another case of putting resources into something nobody was asking for, was universally disliked by the community, and made it live into the game anyway.
no. having the menu be always the same is better than changing it during events.

I have a question about why it took so long for these bugs to get fixed. Did it really take over a month to fix them, or have they been fixed for a while and we just have to wait for a game update. If the latter, why couldn't there be an interim update so that as soon as the bugs were fixed so that people didn't have to wait so long for their characters/perks to be restored?
probably something to do with the way updating works on consoles.
so bundle it with the other update so you only have to deal with it once.
-
I vote for a rework of the basement so it isn't just a deathtrap. because that's less fun and interesting.
like a second entrance to it that is time sensitive. so survivors have an option early but it doesn't last or isn't repeatable...

Do people genuinely just not read people's posts before responding? I could not have possibly been more unambiguous in explaining I wasn't talking about in game rules here
by the game rules, as explained, with no context given beyond "they did X so I decided not to unhook them", it wasn't called out as griefing.
the things people are saying here, fall under that.
-
@ratcoffee said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3634653#Comment_3634653
I think I figured out the problem here.
You think the subtext in my original post was "failing to unhook a teammate in any context is greifing and should be punishable by a ban"
It wasn't. I was saying "the specific hypothetical scenario that a few people have presented here, wherein they intend to rescue someone, see that they've done a 4% attempt, and then change their mind and intentionally go out of their way to not rescue that person, meets the social definition of the term 'greifing,' regardless of the specific in-game rules regarding behavior and logistical challenges inherent in detecting such gameplay choices."
since the response when directly asked was
I think it's safe to say it can't be griefing as defined by the rules since the answer wasn't "yes". or something like "yes if no extra context matters".
it falls into a gray area of "you don't like it and think it should be consider griefing 100%". but it doesn't sound like that is what is happening.
Personally, I see the answer as "I don't see any rules being broken but I don't wanna answer it's ok". which is a fair stance to take.
after all harassing players and targetting users to ruin their experience are by themselves against the rules. whichever method is chosen to do it is equally bad in my eyes, it's not like it changes the answer if you change the method.

That's actually not true. There's no specific key, but rather each head trap us assigned a set number of searches required from 1-4. You'll never have to search 5 boxes. By default, the 4 head traps will require a total of 12 searches. In the event of a 5th head trap, it goes up to a total of 15 searches.
@Seraphor said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3634660#Comment_3634660
This is how traps used to work, but it was changed some time ago to what LordGlint said above. No matter how many traps are in play, they always have a combined total that averages to 3 searches per trap.
4 traps = 12 searches
5 traps = 15 searches
@Reinami said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3634660#Comment_3634660
That's not how it works anymore, you are guaranteed a number of searches based on your trap counts. What this means is, if someone gets the trap off on the first shot, then the other ones are going to take longer.
@AbsolutGrndZer0 said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3634660#Comment_3634660
That was changed awhile ago to counter the "AFK Pig" strategy. Now there is 5 boxes and each trap is assigned a number of searches, all adding up to 12 by default. Adding or subtracting traps adds 3 searches per trap, but no trap will ever take more than 4 searches.
THis video from CoconutsRTS explains how it works now.
I stand corrected. thank you.

I've been very specifically using language to that effect. You saying 'but one person does it slightly differently in one of those situations' doesn't in any way make what I'm saying wrong.
