I believe thatwhile he doesn't hit the skill cap of other rank 1 killers, he is viable if played near perfectly. I've had games with legion where I steamrolled a team. I'm talking perfect plays almost every chancethereis.
-
wheres this screencap from?
-
@Paladin_Goo 1 manthanataphobia, it only affects the injured survivor.
-
The difference between the two is that GF has to stalk each survivor individually. Chasing someone who you've marked but see another survivor really close? Too bad, either keep chasing or go full m1 on the other guy. Myers affects every survivor. Pop it and you can down and even straight up murder entire teams by your hand. Get lucky, you can eliminate everyone in one pop.
-
entire screen I believe.

I miss my blendette. I can't loop for #########, so I took up stealth as my way of avoiding the killer, to the point I became a ninja. RIP stealth clothes, I only had you for 4 days, but you will be missed.
Seriously, @Peanits , is there any chance I could get an iridescent shard or auric cell refund on those? I had them for 4 days for this exact purpose, only to get that taken off me, so if I'm forced to not use stealth, at least let me replace them with something flashy and that didn't look like I went diving in a sewer.
-
@Peanits what about my idea of a reduced timer with a Terror radius blocker on it, so it doesn't tick down like deep wound or the RBTs. If you escape the killer's TR, it continues counting down. Of course, Myers and Ghostface can hardcounter this, so perhaps make it so it's a set distance from the killer. Low timer = can't be used for detection, while the blocker means that unless the killer decides to follow you from really far away and just stay at the edge the perk does not lose it's usefulness unless it's already outlived it.
*Crosses fingers for acception of idea*

@Ember_Hunter 1956
I began my search in the summer of 1956 after hearing of the town of Weeks, a place that had an unusual number of missing persons reports. America is filled with such towns. But what made this one more odd than some, was that there had never been a report of a body found. Indeed, the number of open missing cases stood at a staggering 364, the last of which happened a mere ten weeks ago. Thus I embark on my journey
-
I'd be fine with that if it was triple the prices, so something on the bloodweb worth 5000k is worth 15000k in the store, but we can have the bloodweb and the store.
-
@TheLastGreatStar The only way to escape with a powered trap is the hatch.
-
I really want to do this myself, just to test it, but It's probs gonna get an emergency patch.
-
I can imagine Bodyblocker hag using them to defend hatch and just hunt

When he shines white that means I have exposed him? Then during the chase do I need to keep looking at him to stop him charging up again? What is the red meter around my character name?? So confused..
@Rex_Huin That red meter is your exposed timer. You are able to be downed immediately, ignoring all perks (with BT excluded I think). Once that meter is empty, you are able to take a hit, assuming you are still healthy.
And you need to be really accurate when detecting him. Might be best to use an external program for a crosshair if you don't know where the middle of your screen isl. I played CSGO a lot and learned to aim snipers without scoping, so I've learned where to aim and have no problem detecting him, though someone who hasn't played any game where you need to keep track of the center of your screen may have had problems.
-
TBH I don't give a ######### if he's OP as a survivor. Anything that isn't billy, nurse or iridescent huntress is welcome, at least for a while.

As far as I know steam doesn't refund any DLCs of a game. They can't even measure how long you played a DLC, they only keep track of the time you played the basegame.
@prof_teabagger They simply track how much playtime you've had with that DLC installed
-
@GenSim12345 thats incorrect, steam will refund it if it has a very low play time (in case of accidental purchase)
However, if you played him a while, I doubt you'll get a refund.

Ghostface is much better than Plague. People are really underestimating how much not having a TR affects survivor positioning, especially when you bring instadowns into play. I've run into a lot of standard Ghostface players that constantly get broken out of stealth and get looped, but still have the instadown and Enduring/Spirit Fury. I've also run into some really skilled red rank Ghostface players who can stalk, do it quickly, not be seen, and be on you without you knowing it. Those games don't last long.
The kind of game where you have the survivors looking around and then out of the darkness behind them they get grabbed and pulled into the dark? Spoopy.

I can understand footsteps and all but the breathing. It sounds like Dwight Ran a marathon while crouched sitting. Let alone when he moves.
Fun fact, survivors will breath heavily after running. Make sure he's been still and standing for a minute.
-
On off please, I really like the red flash at the edges of my screen, It'd be cool if it faded out at the same time stuns ended.

That's just details, not really a QoL fix
A QoL fix would be if they fixed getting hit through pallets
That'd be a bug fix.
these would be a QoL fix for ghostface, who can determined where they're looking at.

Shack isn't an infinite though? I can send you a very educational video on how to run basic tiles as killer.
Can I get that vid @JetTheWaffleCat ? I've been learning the hard way.

Maybe the Observer is Benedict? After all, it makes sense. He's tied to it, and he's been there long enough that he might have found a way out, like Vigo, and got lost in the spirit world.
-
@Ember_Hunter survivors get a temporary debuff when working on a gen with other survivors. What he meant is that if each survivor got seperate gens done, then there is more progress then having all 4 on the same gens.
Basically, 4 survivors working on 4 seperate gens is faster then 4 survivors working on 1 gen then moving to the next.
-
@TheBean There is a point to doing gens. Bloodpoints. And any decent killer will abandon chases temporarily to scout out hatch, assuming the game isn't on the verge of ending. saving others offers BP as well, and getting those gates open offers a lot more then just jumping hatch.
I carry keys into the fog not to get out, but to get everyone else out when situations are dire. I prefer to finish the game through the gates, but in some cases it's not possible, so I treat the hatch as an emergency escape. It doesn't earn you BP by getting it, doing gens and opening gates offers a lot more.
-
I prefer to have my last survivor up and moving while I insidious on the hatch in tighter maps, or as a wraith being invisible on it.
-
Ghost is stronger, since he can 99% like myers (if you're careful) and is very stealthy. Plague has no way to follow up onon the broken status, but ghostface can follow up on exposed much easier since he can get really close before being een if careful.

if you play football or any other teamsport, do you just care for your statistics? do you only care that you score a goal? or do you want t o archive something as a team? if you have dont care for your team then survivor is maybe not the right side to play on. it is a 4v1 game, not a "1+1+1+1v1" game. i know there are people who just care for them selfs and dont care for others, but i highly dislike that attitude. i mean comon, are you really putting these 5000 escape points, above someone elses fun? in my opinion thats very unhuman and i hope we dont get in a team ever
What people forget is that DbD is not a team game. Each survivor can shroud themselves in isolation and follow the rule that it's easier to hide when you're alone, and hope the other survivors are doing gens like you are, or they can collect other survivors and attempt to work as a team. Both have benefits and downfalls..
-
@Injuryble said:
"Helping my team escape, why?? There is no benefit for me as a solo player." thats really sad to read. i always see the team as a TEAM. if 3 survivors die and i escape, i consider that a lose, because my team died. i go in again to save my mates, even tho i know i will certainly die. i just fell like thats what people should do in a team. but it looks like you dont see the game as a team game, if you are solo.
Some people play alone for their own win. I'm a medic, but I'm a loner. To me, my survival means more then yours. If your survival means my survival, congrats, you have someone who'll save you over and over. If you don't? I might come save you if it has little risk and I'm not busy with a nearly done gen or a totem.
-
@Dreamnomad Good point.
0-5 actions points: No pip
6-9 actions points: safety pip
9+ actions points: 1 pip
What an action is:
Completing a heal for 1 health state on another survivor, +1
doing 20% worth of a gen (collects across gens, so you can do 10% on one and 10% on another), +1 point
Taking a hit for a recently unhooked survivor, +2
Cleansing a totem (dull/hex), +1
20 seconds of a chase, +1
Opening a gate, +2
Late save (save during EGC), +2
Escape, +3
No-one left behind (take a hit for an injured survivor after being recently unhooked and in the exit gate area), +3 if less then 5 points, +1 otherwise
Hatch savior (open hatch with a key and have other people escape), +2 for first other escape, +1 pass that.
-
I can't believe I'm agreeing with what's probably bait, but @miaasma is right. Killer's is not an infinite. It's a mindgame loop, you just gotta catch them offguard. And most killer can catch up if you optimally run the loop.
-
It doesn't trigger if they detect you while they're in cover for some stupid reason.
-
@Paladin_Goo It's not infinite, m8. An infinite is a loop you can notcatch up to at all.
BTW I still like this change, but I just don't think killer's shack is a true infinite. Except maybe to T1 myers.
-
0-2 gen done: de-pip
3-4 gens done: safety pip
5 gens done: 1 pip
escape: +1 pip (so hatch escape on 0-2 gen is a safety, 3-4 gens is 1 pip etc)
Hows that sound
-
@keenko I'm not sure if you're being serious, but in case you are, it's the short term for a generator.
Anyway, ontopic, @TheBean , the game's becoming a sought of class system at this point. People are falling into roles, and that's what makes SWF have an advantage. Their 'classes' will line up better then others.
But about classes, its best to look at the 4 original survivors for what a class is.
Dwight: Team leader: Does objectives and boosts team.
Meg: Decoy: Is meant to keep the killer's attention off the other survivors.
Claudette: Medic: Keeps everyone able to take 2 hits when possible.
Jake: Rogue(?): Is able to be silent, and sabotage the killer's tools.
We have a lot more classes then this nowadays due to more survivors, but these are the base 4, which interact directly in the game's mechanics.
Everyone plays their own class because that's their skill/preference. You like keeping the killer distracted while your teammates do gens, so you fall under the decoy class. Me, I can't loop for ######### so I hide, and like to keep myself and other's alive and try to get everyone I can out. I do objectives alone, but I make sure everyone else is capable of taking hits for me. I fall under medic, keeping myself out of sight and keeping other's in the fight.
Play to your preference, and only go against it if you need to pick up the slack.
-
@Paladin_Goo no, this is inline with it's antitunnelling. As I said, if you're in the terror radius of the killer the timer pauses. If you are being tunnelled, then DS will be able to trigger. If you aren't, then you don't need a 60 second timer. It doesn't need a hard timer, it just needs better tunnelling detection, which the TR is perfect for using.
-
@Paladin_Goo It's not really. It's easy to mindgame, and 115% killers can catch up fairly easily, enough to hit people through the window if they try vault it.
-
No, it's not. It's like streaming a video of the game to your phone, just that you can send controls back. Doesn't give you an advantage.
-
the pips should be basic
0-1 kill: No pip
2 kills: safety pip
3 kills: 1 pip
4 kills: 2 pip
Same for survivor
0-1 gen done: No pip
2-3 gens done: safety pip
4-5 gens done: 1 pip
escape: +1 pip (so hatch escape on 0-1 gen is a safety, 2 gens is 1 pip etc)
-
It's not that it needs an inbuilt counter, but rather GF just needs immunity in night shroud.
-
I like it; the muted tone lets me know I'm in a chase, while still allowing me to hear other events and adapting to them if necessary.
-
@keenko He wants DS reworked, because it keeps triggering despite having already downed/hooked another survivor.
@Paladin_Goo not really. It can punish a killer simply because of a survivor being an idiot. It might be better for it to have a 15 second timer that doesn't count down in the TR of the killer.
-
Ghostface's ability isn't like other killers, where you rush them with your ability to get the hit off (Even myers, keeping T2 at 99% then popping it when you get to point blank). Ghostface wants you to stay away, just enough to keep out of sight but enough to see them. Succeed this, and you're rewarded with an immediate downing ability. He's not a rush killer, he's a true stealth killer, built to stay away for survivors until his ability pops, then he rushes. People are rushing too early and complaining when the ability doesn't work well.
Sometime's its worth letting the survivor go then stalking them later. Just gotta figure him out.
-
I don't think that killer shack is an infinite, since if you can actually play well you'll be able to mindgame them straight into your arms. I've only ever encountered it being truly infinite with legion once because the survivors were SWFing and one hiding nearby told him which way I was going.
######### SWF...There's way worse infinites, like one I've recently discovered on haddonfield where the survivor always gains more distance then you unless you're playing Billy or nurse (assuming as nurse you're following the loop with your blinks and aren't just teleporting through it to hit them). I was looped on it for the entire EGC and they were faster then me on the loop, whether I went around or through the vault as well.
-
Kille shack nerfed? Hallelujah! That's the one place I can't loop, with the exception of the fence ininite in Haddonfield.
-
@Vancold Thats worse. Grass blocks stalking.
-
@White_Owl in all fairness, Wraith is actually nearly invisible, and not just a removed red stain and lower TR.
-
They couldn't get the license to the killer, so they did the next best thing and got the license to the mask itself. This would mean that they had to make their own GF without infringing on Copywrite. Considering this, they did a damn good job. And I guess Ash can be a surrogate survivor, though there's no map still.
-
I'm not sure about live, but back from PTB I loved the muted tones. I knew I was in a chase, but I could hear people
-
If you bring 2 BPS I'm more lenient, but any less and your ass is grass.
-
As devs of ghostface, in your opinion, what would be the most successful build to run on GF?
