That's weird because the wheel is not bound to the network. It's local, so maybe there was some weird task going on on your machine.
But that wouldn't be a problem because, among the suggestions in the discussion, the system wouldn't react with the first (few) detections. You'd have been safe.
I have never heard that before. I tend to miss skill checks more when I play with European friends, due to the higher ping, or are you talking about hooks and skill check are different?
-
I have been taking a break from the game since the last update, and honestly not sure when I will come back. I am a Pig main, and this bug oh, it's not game breaking according to BHVR apparently. Well, as more and more survivors decide if it's not killswitched its okay to exploit, more and more killers are going to quit the game… and then… will all those survivors be banned for exploiting a glitch? We'll see. I won't be holding my breath.

That's not true. Please don't spread misinformation. If you look at my video it takes 74 seconds to do a gen now instead of 90. It's not 45 seconds. It being 74 is still an issue but it's not as extreme as 45 seconds.
When you have a team with 3-4 survivors all running the exploit together, then yes. it can be as extreme as 45 seconds.

Just to clear things up: every Cosmetic is viewable in the Shop (also Diatech, Legacy, Twitch TV, etc).
The only strange thing is that the Bloodletting Shirt and the unreleased Prisma Shirt of Dwight shows "Available in Chapter Bundles" while every other Exclusive Cosmetic shows "unavailable".Wait so they now show even stuff you cannot ever obtain? I don't like that… I need to check though if it shows System Smasher….

The 4%, no.
But if the player doesn't react when the wheel is on screen, he is obviously giving up.
And if he is giving up immediately after "attempting a 4%" … well, that pattern is pretty obivous.
That's not true. I recently had a game were I was SWFing with a streamer who has strict rules about not DCing or giving up on hook. Well, due to a sudden bout of extreme lag I didn't run from killer as he quickly arrived to rehook me, then I missed every struggle check and died nearly instantly. The streamer was mad at first, but I swore to her that it was a bout of really bad lag, I would see if I could fix it, and if it happened again, I would quit entirely for the night. I did manage to fix the issue (forget how.)
But point is, sometimes a 'give up' or DC is not intentional. I'd say most of the time it is, but those few times it is not, are they reason that you can't blanket punish. -
To be fair, killers in some ways do have more to complain about in some sense, as the bots have wallhacks basically. Their AI is not perfect to real human behavior, it can't be… so they cannot be mindgamed, and they see you coming even when you are stealthed. Flashlights? They nearly always nail the save if they are in range for it. The bots are nice for when a player Disconnects so the survivors aren't suddenly screwed and yes… removal of the DC penalty would just make a majority of matches killers vs. bots…

Paraphrasing:
Kate: The Meg blinded you, not me.
Me: You aren't the only one I Moried.
Kate: You should pay attention to who has flashlights, I had a medkit.
Me: You ran. The only rule is don't run.
Kate: I ####### killers like you. ###### moring players who run? Trash can.
Me: LOL you need to chill, it's just a game
Kate:YOU are the one that needs to chill! I am a killer main, I get 4K every game and Iri I on both sides every month.

Is it lobby dodging/swf things or what
Because the reason for incentives is to pad the side that is currently having less players. So yes, the side with incentives is always going to take longer, as that's the very reason the incentives were introduced, to lessen the queue times.

"forces the team to open the gate"
Thats exactly why it's pretty mediocre on its own (running it together with bloodwarden is a different story).95% of survivors keep gates shut until the very last moment. Which gives the killer plenty of time to trade hooks if they manage to hook someone during end game. I had so many games were I only have like 3 hooks when all gens are done, and survivors trying to brute force the 4 man out again and again, until one or two players got sacrificed. That only works with "unlimited" time, if the gates or open, they have to abandon their mates eventually to get out of the trial.
As long as the majority of survivors keep 99ing gates and screwing themselve over with it, terminus works against you (again, if you run it on its own, with other end game perks to complement its way better).
I mean, that's true but the best perks are the best due to synergy. Take Buckle Up for example. Is it good? Eh, Yea. Take For the People. Is it good? Eh, yeah. But add them together and you make every killer main foam at the mouth.

I agree such banning won't go over too well. Dunno about Discord stuff, but how could they do a thing about comms on the consoles? They're built-in and independent of whatever game is being played. I've been in a chat party where we were playing three different games! 😜
Well it would be the same as with that MMO banning people for using mouse-based macro coding. Could they do it? Yes, 100%. They could absolutely say that using Xbox Party will get you banned, but that would **** off Microsoft and **** off pretty much every Xbox player, so it is absolutely not something they will do.

Direct cheating to me would be messing around with game files for advantage, but ultimately it's up to the devs to determine what goes or not. Now things like equalizers and filters etc. cannot be really detected let alone controlled by them, nor comms for that matter. How could they enforce anything along these lines?
Visuals and especially sounds are so important to DBD gameplay, and the devs have spent countless hours & resources to get the game where they want it to look and sound. Players going around all that purposely just feels wrong, and to those who cannot mess around with these things very very unfair. To someone on Switch reading for example about "this at 60 frames and that at 120 frames" it can feel downright criminal.
Sadly issues like this widen the disparity between the game experience across the platforms, which is already disproportionately large for DBD. But again, unenforceable.
I mean for a short time a certain MMO was doing a game-branded promotion with Razr who makes computer mice with all kinds of macro features, but then they started banning players who used those very game-branded mice's macro features, as the game does not allow the use of macros. Of course, this caused a huge uproar in the community, and so they ended the partnership with Razr. So technically BHVR COULD technically crack down on those using equalizers just as they could crack down on those using Discord, but that's a can of worms they don't want to open as other companies have done so in the past, and it didn't go well for them.
-
@jmwjmw27 said:
lol @ everyone saying "but I use an equalizer for this reason" or "but gaming gear", not understanding the argument.
Some very sweaty spirit players use programs that load in all DBD sounds and specifically equalize out everything so that they can hear footsteps and breathing. They even specifically target the relevant survivors in their match, so they will load in say, dwight claudette meg and bill audio to their equalizer program to target those sounds and remove everything else. This isn't some generic noise filter.
Exactly. That is most definitely cheating. But it's not something BHVR has any control over.

I feel like it is. It counters Adrenaline heal, it shuts down resets for the team and forces the team to open the gates and wait it out a bit before they can even start healing. If you manage to have at least two people injured when exit gates are poweres its pretty powerfull.
You can combo this with delay exit gates perks to make them broken for like 2min+ to make saves and trades very difficult or put Blood Warden to finish the game off.
Its not A tier or strong perk on its own, but the fact when Adrenaline was in its prime and it is still very good perk... Nobody runs this perk. I mean nobody in my past 150+ Survivor matches never ever played this perk.
It's a key part of my "Perkless Pig" build, which I jokingly call it because of how often I get a 4K without the last generator being finished, and like a tree falling in the forest when nobody is around to hear it, if you never needed the perks, did you even equip them?
Blood Warden, No Way Out, Remember Me, Terminus.
Slowdown Meta on Pig? Nah. Don't need it. -

Those are unfortunately part of those packs, same as for example if you purchase the entire Something Wicked Chapter (not just Sable and/or Unknown separately) then you get an exclusive cosmetic for both Sable and The Unknown.
That said, I do agree that there should be some other way to get these for those that did not know or something in the future. -
There could be some issues with Microsoft not letting them just add achievements that are not tied to a DLC. I know everyone loves to jump to the conclusion that a gaming company is lazy, bad at their jobs, or just out to get you, but it's almost never those cases.
-
IT has never happened to me as I am on PC, but I have heard that this is a bug on consoles that has happened in the past. I'd be sure and make a report to BHVR's customer service if you have not already.

sadly has to be a debate cause theres tons of people like hens saying its not cheating
They say that because they have the idea that if it's something that BHVR can't do anything about, it's not cheating. Anything that gives you an advantage over other players is technically cheating, however the point becomes moot when it's something beyond BHVR's control.
Great example, many killer mains hate Discord, they say it's cheating. Is it? Well, yes it is. You are getting information from other survivors that the game does not intend for you to have. However, BHVR can't (and won't) stop us from using Discord any more than they can stop console users from using Party Chat. The fact that its accepted as something we have to deal with doesn't change that it technically is cheating by definition. -

There was a charm that looks like a digital drum machine. Lights up with all the buttons… Wanted it for the longest…originally missed it. It's been in-game forever, but I can't find it on the charm store. Having trouble even remembering the name. Has anyone seen it yet to confirm it's available?
Edit: name is Mightee One Music Pad. Originally available on Rift 9.
It's not currently there, but as they said above, future charms will be in bundles (also if you already have stuff in the bundle, then it's discounted accordingly) so it's possible.
As for what others have said about Rift charms being exclusive, I say no. Honestly, I will never understand the idea of "I have this you, don't so I am special." mentality. I bought a certain SPACE MMO's Collector's Edition 12 years ago, so I had access to a special in-game vendor that only those who purchased it did. Even when they released the Digital Deluxe that included the rest of the CE digital content, that vendor remained locked. I spoke against this for years. I had access to the vendor, but I did not feel that made me special, I wanted to see everyone with an opportunity to get the items on the vendor to see them in game more often would be fun. Now, finally, after 12 years, they've added the ability to purchase access to that vendor. I couldn't be more happy for new players, and the same goes for Dead by Daylight!
We have Legacy Skins and Deep Rift skins that are exclusive. That's enough. -
Little rant.
Why is it that whenever a bug happens with a new skin, the first thing everyone jumps to is that BHVR (or any other gaming company) purposely made the bug (or in this case feature) in order to sell more skins? Like, do people honestly think that every gaming company is out to screw over their playerbase in any way they can? -
My current stats according to Nightlight (I am not a subscriber, so only last 60 days) are 27.6% escapes as survivor and 41.03% escapes when I am playing as killer.

If you bought Surge before they removed the Stranger Things DLC then it’s probably a bug and you should send a ticket about it.
“Jolt” was never in the shrine though. If you only got it after the DLC was removed then you most likely didn’t buy it from the shrine and got it because it was given to everyone for free as a generic perk. They went back to teachables when Demo returned. If you didn’t buy it before he was removed then it isn’t a bug and you need to buy it again sadly.
Yes, pretty sure that any killers that already had it usable kept it, but not 100% sure as I owned Stranger Things before the removal. But new killers, it for sure won't be on.

That's a good point. Does it even show how to stun the killer with a pallet at all? Been forever since I did the new tutorials.
-
3-Gens are very niche, and the point wasn't ever to remove it as a strategy, it was to remove the endless stalemate it becomes. So 8 works for that.
With exception of a few killers known for 'forcing a 3-gen", when survivor's end up in a 3-gen it's their mistakes for doing so. When you make mistakes, there should be consequences that you have to overcome. -

Dying to know what corvid you’re referring to there.
Ah I was mistaken on which non-black corvid it was, but here you go. They are much more prevalent in Brazil and are a threatened species. So with how rare they are already, its unlikely but still possible they might occasional be seen elsewhere in South America.
That said, my point was that the Entity sent the crows to watch Carmina, so the fact that crows are not native to South America is irrelevant. -
@GentlemanFridge said:
There’s no crows in Chile.
Yet there’s a Chilean killer who’s whole shtick is crows. Even the map she came with, also supposedly in Chile, has a giant murder of crows.
It’s also entirely possible that part of the Saloon was pulled from Zarina’s memory, who followed Caleb’s life for a story. Zarina might very well have seen tumbleweeds rolling around there.
Yea, so many missed the entire point of the crows being there. They were not native crows (technically South America does have crows as in a corvid family bird, but not the common crows the rest of the world has that the Entity's crows are. South America's corvids are a blue bird known as an Azure Jay in English, so most don't know they are in the crow family) and that was the entire point! The Entity sent them to watch Carmina and corrupt her to eventually bring into the trials as a killer.

A few results for you guys so far. It seems tunneling is pretty uniform in every region (Except Asia, except the N value was only 38 so its pretty inaccurate). Time of day also slightly influences rates, and people feel as if they are tunneled more often if they play very late at night and early morning.
But what IS "tunneling" though? So many survivors make that accusation when they aren't being tunneled. Granted, as big a content creator as you are, I understand you probably have a better definition than the average survivor main, but still.

Don’t need to let them continue repairing that gen, but if they’re still injured and it’s a brief to nonexistent chase, (if I even bother to hit them w/o going to find someone else first) I’ll at least just leave them slugged while continuing on to the next. Not a fan of Double Hooking, I just don’t play that way
but everyone has their own gameplay preferences
Then they complain that you slugged them. As bad if not worse of an offense.

Yea, I think the comments in the main post say it all.
Those survivors made so many mistakes, Billy was just taking advantage of that. -
I did it, but I think it was kind of bare bones… You got the right idea with that one question of bodyblocking with endurance but… as someone who plays both sides, I can't tell you how many times I've been accused of tunneling when I just happened to run across the same survivor 30 seconds later on a generator…. Is that really tunneling? Am I supposed to go "Oh, well you just got off hook, so I will let you finish that generator."

I agree, even more so let us opt out of killer or survivor dailies entirely. There are some players who, for whatever reason, cannot or do not want to ever play killer at all. Whether it's an issue like motion sickness in first person games, or its' just a matter of being the killer is not fun, the fact is that the system seems to quit giving you the role you play the most.

60% isn't 3K on average. It's less than 2.5K on average (2.5K is 62.5%). But you also have to factor in the fact there's 5 ways the game can end, 0K, 1K, 2K, 3K, 4K. If BHVR wants the killer to have less 0Ks on average, then the kill rate will go up.
I am bad at math, but yes I know that 66% is actually 3K, but my overall point stands. They intend for there to be more 3Ks than 0Ks. Survivors are not supposed to be escaping every match. But many survivors think they should be able to.

- If any, in what ways would you change the Deep Rift to improve its value?
I answered with this:
More BP in the free track. 5000 points per level is not much appealing when you first get 20.000 points in the last page. Maybe up it to 50-100k, since the deep rift is something special since the skins may or may not return to the store. And maybe shards, enough to buy 1/3th of a skin of your choice since there are so many skins in the game nowadays.
What is your answer or what would your answer be if you did the survey?
I also said in the last option, where you could tell the devs something, that the skin price for shards is way too high. It costs almost one entire devotion level to even get one skin.
There is no may or may not. They have said outright that Deep Rift is the one exception to the "Every Very Rare will eventually come to the store" caveat. Deep Rift skins are the only true FOMO that exists in this game (that and charms, though if the store changes currently on the PTB is evidence, that's changing as there is currently on the PTB a Clown bundle that includes the 3 Clown-related charms and his chicken outfit at a hefty discount. Like 700 for me, and I am only missing one of the charms.)
-
They balance for a 60% kill rate. That means that 3K is an average game. So, ONE OF THE FOUR SURVIVORS ESCAPES. Will that one survivor be you? Sometimes yes, sometimes no.
Anyone who tells you the game is not killer sided is either lying to you or drinking the Kool-Aid, and I say this as Pig Main that thinks Kool-Aid has way too much sugar.
While this might change somewhat at different levels, it still does not change the fact that the developers have stated on many occasions that they try to balance for a 60% kill rate on average. -

Whether or not you get a penalty depends entirely on if the server can tell that it is at fault. This is an unfortunate case with all online games. Many times the server cannot tell whether you unplugged your modem at your router or whether a computer in Dallas that you are connecting to BHVR through had a hiccup, or that it actually is their fault. Sometimes they can tell when it is truly their fault, but many times there is just no way to know where the problem occurred, so you have to get a penalty.

I'll just looking for specific skins for Ash, Ripley, Gabriel, Trapper, Hux, Alan. I just want optimize my IS spends.
Yes, they sometimes have sales on skins, though when any particular sale will be there is no way to know until BHVR announces it.
Two things to note however
1. Iridescent Shard costs are not at this time included in sales, so if an outfit is 50% on AC, with shards it will still be full price.2. Licensed characters, which includes Ash, Ripley, and Alan as you have noted there are only available for Auric Cells and will NEVER be available for Iridescent Shards.

Note that it says my video card there, and despite what the error says of the minimum required being 23.3.2, the latest drivers for the R9 380 Series cards is 22.6.1. Same, I'm located in the midwestern United States. For some reason the only two servers they have in the US are in Oregon (literally about as far north and west you can go in the continental US) and in Northern Virginia (on the Eastern Coast). No servers to be found in the whole middle of the country… I'm about 500 miles away from the Virginia server and have never seen my ping (which is typically around 20 on any other game) go below 60 before. I don't know if it's a money thing, out of the cards or what, but it shocks me how a game as big as this has so few servers.
Same, and thanks for that actually. I knew my ping tended to be high, but wasn't sure why that makes a lot of sense… We need a darn server in Texas. While Kansas would be best for me, I think that Dallas tends to be a better place overall for the midwest as its a central hub for many ISPs already.

Actually, if my memory serves me right, the mode was essentially one of the new mode types they had in that one survey they did several months ago and I believe it even said in the general description that the killer would be giant and the survivors would be tiny.
Yes, it was but they still decided to do it as an April Fool's because of how silly it is… so that's why it only lasted two days instead of a full week like Lights Out did.
-
I mean it isn't necessarily a bug with his hitbox, but it IS his hitbox. He is freakin' huge so yes his hitbox is bigger too.
Let me tell you a little secret. This event is a silly two-day event for April Fool's Day. It is not and was never intended to be taken seriously, and it's unlikely much time was taken to balance it. It's HIGHLY killer sided and they never say it isn't in the tweets, in fact they outright tell you that it is killer sided.
