Decisive Strike has a weakness; If I don't get found, downed and picked up by the killer within 60 seconds of the unhook then I've wasted one of my four perk slots for nothing in return. Not tunneling or slugging is the counter and has always been the counter, and even then, slugging still creates pressure that benefits the killer.
This is why high-rank killer streamers are very nonchalant about DS; They know it's out there, they've adapted their game to suit it... It's a lot like NoED in that sense, in that it requires a different play style from survivors and yet people piss and moan about it all the time.
Yeah, you love to see how high-rank killer streamers say nice things about people that jump into lockers. Totally adapted and absolutely fine about it. Should note that none of those streamers also use NoED, as well as majority of high-rank non-streamers.
-
Survivors should not hear spirit phasing too! I totally agree!

The chase interaction between killer and survivor is the best part of the game and see who can outplay who.
What is fun about hiding and just camping pallets? That is not fun at all.
By looping I didn't mean mind gaming at high walls or mixing paths. By looping I meant literal running around one object in circles 5 or 6 times before killer actually catches up to a survivor because of how collision boxes work for them. Have no clue what OP meant though. After hundreds of hours only people that think it's exiting are survivor players I guess.
-
Wow, LF and Clown? OMG, truly the face of ruthlessness.
-
@OldHunterLight said:
Ummm what? Why would you remove probably the best thing for survivor? It's so damn boring to do gens, I prefer looping and I'm not a survivor main.
Looping means running around an object, in circles. What fun about that?

Well, if someone farm you with bt and he is got injured it is a good idea to protect your rescuer while you have endurance status effect. Also I never seen someone using DS complain about tunneling. Sometimes I could tunnel the ######### out of person that DS me. I was expectig a ton of tunneling complains in the end game chat or in my steam comments. But it never happened. Somehow people that use antitunneling perk never complain about tunneling.
You're lucky. I get complains (in chat because I don't like people leaving them on steam page) all the time if I slug people around to avoid DS. I meet so many players that think sluging unhooked people is tunneling.
Heck, I had people collectively DC on me because I refused to swing at 360 and trashtalk me for that in chat, so I kinda stopped caring.

Well, unfortunately when survivors are near constantly forced to run perks to stop tunnelling, camping and slugging, then there's not really any room for a perk to deal with a niche perk that survivors should be doing stuff to counter anyway.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1544722#Comment_1544722
And sure, after they change it to Exposed immediately shown and 5 Generators Complete only.
They aren't forced though, they just chose to use perks that are actually useful in surviving, not just in obscure "information".
For info perks to be popular survival perks should be nerfed, or info perks also should give survival powers. Giving aura reading isn't very useful unless it's permanent (like ooo).

the perk itself has no capability of abusing itself. HOWEVER the player CAN ABUSE the effects to bully and harass another player. beyond what is normal. and you are making the case that tunneling is not an abuse, nor is camping or moris, or keys. nothing is abusable in this game... not in the slightest. Oh yea remember why they changed how long it took to start a mori action? that was because of ABUSE by the player themselves. you will notice that I did not say the perk was an abuse to be used but how it was used. At this point your whole argument breaks down and makes anything that happens in the game as long as it is working AS INTENDED not an abuse.
People that do these things are intending to be hooked, killed what so ever. and will call the killer a tunneler when they weren't. example that has been said here: player S with DS gets unhooked and when the killer doesn't go after them but the unhooker they then alter course and run into the killer's swing and go down. now this is done intentionally for various reasons including to now say they were tunneled. this is the abuse that I am talking about both in the forums here and end game chat. the fact they used DS isn't an abuse though it could be seen as such, the fact that they decided to run into the swing isn't abuse but what is the abuse is the intent behind it. This is where your agument falls flat, no one said that the perk abuses another but it was said that the perk is USED to abuse another. the key is the word USED or intent of the word used. the abuse comes from the player's actual actions or their intentions of what to do.
Eh. Scenario you described is the one I would be totally fine with. As a killer I get a slug and some kind of pressure. Worse is when you have no choice but chase a person with DS. I don't even talk "I couldn't see the other person". No, it's way worse: person with DS active will stay near a gen where he was saved, healed and all. You hit them to scare from the gen, unhooker escapes into the skyline and you have nothing better to do but chase a guy with DS active, with him jumping into a locker somewhere in the middle of the chase. That's a nightmare to deal with and really grinds my gears.
-
Eh. I think looping is okay, I just wish turning corners was the same for killer and survivor so distance gain would be the same as walking in straight line. It's so weird how much time running through weird shaped paths can buy.

Actually, can be looped, but it's actually hard. You have to dodge shocks and pre-drop pallets.

@MPUK said:
It isn't a valid tactic. It is a BS play when a killer wants to ruin the game for other people. None of this "just do the gens to punish them" BS either. Being stuck on a hook whilst a killer stands there ruins the game. If a killer claims he is having fun, being skillful or employing a tactic when all he does is stand still he is talking out of his arse.
Same goes for tunnelling. A desperate play to try and get an easy kill.
Moris don't bother me as long as it isn't tunnel off first hook to desperately mori.
I have never camped, never tunnelled and I am a red rank killer. Anyone who claims it is the only way they can win can't play the game. The ones who do play this way are the very same ones who come on the forums crying about DS.
These people also lose sight of the fact that it is a game and take every match ultra serious and make up multiple excuses as to why they had to camp/tunnel. Why go out of your way to try and make someone have a bad experience by camping/tunnelling them? Why stand still in a game for minutes at a time? Just go play something else.
Camping a hook may include standing near a hook, but doesn't equals it. That's why your point is invalid. Defending a hook is also a camping tactic.
-
This actually the only way. Nerfing SWF specifically is just stupid. Everybody else (yes, I mean killers as well) should feel as comfortable as SWFs, not the other way around.
-
With how they handled breakable walls in a saloon, I'm concerned how devs gonna add those walls on other maps. I just start imagening them in places where walls never was before (next to windows) instead of places where blocked doors or normal walls were.
Also yes, I just straight up pretend that that map has only 4 gens.
-
That's easy:
1) play Freddy;
2) make a laggy hit over a window;
It's a 50/50 DC or suicide.

During animation i think. I think the saddest part that they can also vault through a window without minding you being there.
That's not quite true, if killer vaults and doesn't move survivor can't use the window, but if killer moves an inch window becomes vaultable.

That's just a bug fix, not a nerf. You're locked into the animation at that point, you can't cancel the hook and go for that other guy.
Well, not all survivors near a hook are here to sabotage it. Maybe only those survivors that have a toolbox should be visible with that perk? Not with saboteur though, it would give out survivors perks to the killer and that shouldn't be allowed.
Seriously, how one trick a perk can get?

Mine is Thana, BBQ, PGTW, Discordance (how many months it was since devs said they gonna change it so 1lvl is better than 3lvl?).
Usually in order to 4k I have to 3 gen, and Legion are notorious for their camping skills, so 3 gen defense supposed to be pretty decent on them. (Honestly, lately it's the only strategy if you can't move faster than 175% or teleport).
Alternatively, if you can manage to kill one of survivors with 2 or more gens to go, it shouldn't be hard to seal the game from here, but Legion aren't very good tunneler (ability doesn't promote that).
If you lose a good 3 gen, just try and get as many ability hits as possible, hooking what you can. You can blackpip at reds with 0k Legion, they's one of those killers.
-
Yeah, of course, if somebody wants something in a video game because people are dying out there it means that he doesn't take things seriously. It's not like the person asking is also possibly in danger.
Just saying out there people being told to not leave their apartments not even because that way they can't be infected, it's also to delay the moment when they will be infected, so medics have the time to breath and don't have to chose, whom to treat. You probably talking from a country that doesn't have a problem yet and don't really know, what's going on in a head of a person that's locked up in the room with a real risk of scary disease on the streets.

You level one survivor to level 30 to get access to his perks and then move on to grinding them up in your main survivor BW. Are you complaining that you don't have access to all those precious add-ons you got from tiny pre level 50 bloodwebs?
-
Except you can play one survivor as any other, but killers are all different. You compare one survivor to one killer, and little to nobody plays only one killer. For each killer you not only have their own add-ons, you also have to level up all perks from scratch.

And you're sure that is nothing to do with archives? I've seen people acting so stupid since the patch due to new page, They basically suicide for protection hits and healings.

Survivors items & addons don't pool together, whether I want one specific addon on feng, I still have to get through 3x webs possibly, If I want to play a match with one of trappers specific addons I'll like only have to go through one web.
But survivors also just skins of each other. You can level all survs only to 30 and one to maximum and be done with it (what a lot of people do).
Also technically survs have 3 add-ons, one of them is an item, and they can keep it still.

######### is aim dressing?
That's how devs call that mechanic. Its purpose to make hits look "better", and devs made sure that it doesn't help with getting hits that otherwise would be undeserved. So it actually doesn't help (killers), but sure interferes a lot.
-
It's called aim dressing. Main difference is auto aim is helpful, and aim dressing is harmful.
-
Probably if survivor had the same effect for chase music as a killer it could work. I mean, music wouldn't give a hint if you can be seen or not, i.e. always intense or always "uncertain".
-
No.
Also your problem is far from being usual. Maybe something is wrong with your ROM/RAM and data gets corrupted as it's written on your PC?

The reason a notification is immediately given for Huntress Lullaby is because it has 2 effects. The additional 6% regression on failed skill checks is effective without any HL stacks.
Except survivors don't require to experience that extra regression to see that it's there.
That's like with secondary ability hits that can't use exposed effect, but notify the survivor that it's here. Very one sided consistency.

The majority of people who post on this forum are massively biased towards playing killer. This is very clear by the topics that get posted on here. This is absolutely nothing to do with who the devs favour because that is just a standard delusion in a killer mains mind.
Yeah, that's why so many killers complain about long queues and lack of survivors in higher ranks!

It is too early to discuss this right now. But ds is not strong they really exaggerate. I stopped taking DS because I eat all kinds of heavy camps and tunnels. DS always wait for the time to expire, then when the time is over, they pick it up off the ground and hang it. It doesn't matter if you abuse DS. Every killer has the power to abuse his advantages and is free to use any deficit. In the past, murderers knew how to deal with this, because skill control ds would arrive within 3 seconds of being picked up from the ground.
However, the nerf came up and they applied this method again, and the solution for this was the skillcheck while we were picked up directly from the ground and this was great. However, murderers will abuse all kinds of mechanisms to gain all kinds of advantages. Decisive strike is not strong enough to punish the tunnel. But as I said, it's really early to discuss this. If you ask why:
3.6.0 version will come, however map dimensions will be resized, pallet amount will change, safe places will be reduced and there will be frangible walls. What solutions will we resort to if it really causes a big problem for the survivors? Especially when we use Deliverance + DS, the killers get angry with us and do not leave us until we die. Now that means we're using this feature badly? The killer wants us to die of any kind.
Now you are thinking nerf because of the Salvation advantage? If this nerf comes in, it would be really bad, because if the killers find out that we're off the hook on our own, the killer will do their best to end my life immediately. The old DS should be brought back, but as I said to everyone, it has to go through a little test and this will answer version 3.6.0.

What everyone says is not my concern. Murderers are free to exercise their legal rights, but this is true for survivors. I don't care what everyone says, killers are free to play as they want, but this is true for survivors. They are free to use their advantages for good faith or malicious purposes. Nobody can interfere with freedom of play! However, as I said, it is too early to discuss it. Don't forget what I'm saying @Peanits. Even in the old DS, 4K was still easy to do. You just enlarge it in your eyes. DS is not strong.
>DS always wait for the time to expire, then when the time is over, they pick it up off the ground and hang it.
Just wait? Really? It's that simple? Or according to your screenshot killers supposed to pick you up even if there is no reason to hurry anymore? (EGC, everybody is dead or too many gens to handle for those who isn't dying atm). I mean, why not just facecamp people then? It's basically the same.
-
All killers you've listed are licensed and must be bought with real currency, so it's not strange that newbies never play them. Buying killers with ingame currency isn't quite cheap as well, and starting choice of simple killers is pretty limited. But I would expect a lot of Wraiths (OMG OP permanent invisibility1), not Huntresses.

Well, with the Nurse changes, those who only played her for her strength ditched because she required actual skill to play, (MORE than before, but not much.........) so those who remained truley cared about the character and could still use her to her full potential.
It feels like they all moved over to Hillbilly.
Overall I'm hapoy for Nurse. Those who play her WANT to play her and want to do well with her, not just picking the top pick because it's an easy win.
Uuuh. from your own description she's now like an old ripped apart and stitched back teddy bear, that has no value he used to have, but some people still love him because they have a personal attachment to him or have a thing to that kind of aesthetics.
Only those who truly love her still play her. Like, really man? That's a way to design a playable character? That's like a joke about Adam or Quentin (all 5 people that main them).
-
Well, they did address high ranks by adjusting the killer that performed well only in high ranks (and a perk that had outrageous use rate only in high ranks). So it seems they do pay attention to high ranks and satisfied with it as it is.
-
You could at least make a screenshot with a high rank killer. If it was a spirit with a mori, you would even find sympathy. So basically you did your 4 escape bragging thread wrong.
-
There's a little bit more to it...
I have one very fun game as example of key interactivity.
1 guy died, 1 gen left to do, hatch spawned. Surv with a map finds the hatch, but gets injured in the process. Surv with a key runs to the hatch, right to the killer, killer sees them, hits them, but doesn't follow immediately, because he knows that he has no chance here, he looks out for another surv that is still around injured. He see them running to the hatch and intercepts them, and THEN he closes the hatch. Even though 1 gen is still unfinished, EGC starts and gates get powered. Killer picks up the downed surv and hooks them... but doesn't run to the gate to prevent escape of 4th surv, because, guess what, when there is only one surv left hatch opens. So he waits for a hatch to open (by itself this time around) to close it AGAIN and then flips the coin, which gate to approach first.
It's a whole chain of BS to deal with after use of a key. Probably EGC shouldn't start if hatch gets closed with more than one surv left. Probably hatch shouldn't open by itself when EGC is already in progress. But that's my personal opinion.
-
Sacrifice emblem is very bipolar. For 2k you don't get even 50%, you also have to hook everybody else at least once. I. e. in order to score 1/2 of that emblem you have to do 2/3 of the job. And no further hooks count. Even if you hook all 4 survs once, it's only 10 of the emblem. Instead of devotion, hook states count towards brutality emblem and score only two points (each hit scores 1 to compare).
To get a black pip you should get gold in everything in red ranks, it means with 2k you have to practically almost kill everybody, and 2k is VERY close to 4k in amount of effort you have to apply.

Except being hit with DS is 5 seconds, not an entire generator being undone. So your idea is completely different to the actuality of what DS currently is.
I didn't say that a survivor couldn't do scummy tactics because they have been in a queue. I said they can't really do anything "scummy" because nothing removes the killer from the game within a minute or so. The killer gets a full game no matter what. A survivor if they ate unlucky can be grabbed off a gen and put on a hook within 30 seconds and either never gmcomenoff that hook or when they do the killer that has stood next to them the whole time tunnels the ######### out of them in a desperate attempt to ruin their game.
You have given no evidence of what a scummy survivor play is but it seems to be using their perks in a way that you and other killer mains don't want them used? Yet those survivors aren't allowed to tell you how to use yours.
Instaheals being nerfed was an over the top action brought on by killer mains crying. Toolbox nerf another over the top action brought on by killer mains crying. As for the nurse, I never really use her on PC but on console I still use her in red ranks and don't have much of an issue so the changes didn't really bother me.
The iridescent head is irritating yes but like I said, I just shrug it off and get on with the game. I don't post endlessly on here crying at my PC about how an iridescent head has destroyed the game for me and how I will quit unless they are changed. That's the kind of reaction a killer main has to every single thing.
RUIN GOT CHANGED, I QUIT!!!! etc etc.
The fact is people who play one half of the game are in no position to ######### and moan about what the other side has as they never see it from the other side. They just want the game to be easier for them because they want to win. "I shouldn't have to make a decision at a locker when I'm tunnelling someone, I should just be able to put that person back on the hook because I want to win"
Hey, just last night got one of my best DS experiences in my whole DBD career.
Played Pig, Claudette that I hooked not so long ago was unhooked and ran to the box that happened to be right next to me. When I've approached her to scare her off she didn't budge. Why? Well, that's obvious, I just down her and keep going to the place where I was going to in the first place. Just some time later the same Claudette rans at me and denies me a down on another survivor. Alright, I can take a trade, what gives. But wait, here's your 5 seconds of shame for tunneling. What happened? Apparently that Claudette got downed, got recovered and had enough time to reach me before DS ran out. Tunneling in it's finest. But that's not only thing why that game was memorable. In the same game I had two Ashes with identical skin. Nobody of them healed when there only 2 gens left. Wanna guess why? There is a certain perk that makes it safe to do. But I'm drifting off. After hooking another person (4th one), I've come to the place where Ash was unhooked (surveillance also showed me that somebody touched a gen nearby), I've seen an injured Ash running from that place, so I guess that's an unhooked guy and walked to the gen, made a grab (accidentally, but whatever). Well, in this days of dedicated servers there is only one type of grabs exists: when survivor lets you grab them to activate DS. It was second Ash, that has exactly the same skin and also injured. Seems balanced. Games like this not happen often, but when they happen, they really make me apprentice DS strength.

Yep, that's a point. Choice is you lose more or you lose less. In the end it's still a lose - lose, and that's what kinda sucks about it.
