  • Seems unlikely. Would rather they go with Until Dawn, and not as a PS exclusive DLC, but for all platforms.

  • Spirit. Sadly barely anyone players her anymore. Been back playing since late September after a 1 year break, and the nerf she got made her one of the least played killers in my experience. I've put in like 150+ hours since I've been back and have only played against maybe 5 spirits in all that time.

Also Demogorgon since I'm a big stranger things fan, but he is also quite rare since he's a low-mid tier killer, and will be even rarer now that he won't be sold anymore.

  • At the very least they should all be B tier or above, and yet we still have C and D tier killers. Don't think anybody is bad enough that I would call them F tier currently at least.

  • Just ran into my first hacker since I've been back for a month and a half. Dude was playing trapper with increased speed, permanent auras, and the ability to teleport.

If you do an entire gen by yourself while injured it saves you 6.6 seconds.

Overall I’d say resilience is fine, if anything the only thing I’d change about it is to make it work on blessing.

For mettle of man I’d say they should just remove the killer seeing your aura and make it deactivate as soon as you tank a hit (rather than needing to be downed). It’s already hard to make it work, I don’t think it needs a downside.

I also don’t think hope being 9% is a good idea because any 110 killer will pretty much just never catch up to you. It’s meant to give you a speed boost but it shouldn’t be impossible to be downed. A good alternate buff could be to make the 2 minute timer for it pause while slugged and while on hook so it’s not wasted there.

Thanks for the ideas on Hope and Mettle of Man, edited the OP.

Did you seriously just mention Iron Will and Resilience as some of the weaker perks for survivors?

Iron Will is a top tier perk against a single killer, Spirit, as it removes one of the few pieces of information she gets about a survivor's location while she is Phasing, leaving just scratch marks and grass movement as her only signs, but now she has that new add-on that gives her killer instinct and largely negates the benefit of Iron Will against her. As for the rest of the killers, Iron Will is mid-tier imo, and it's almost entirely useless against Plague and Nemesis since it doesn't suppress coughing sounds at all, hence why I'm calling for a 50% reduction in coughing sounds.

Resilience really isn't that useful imo, I don't think I've ever seen anyone run it. While it can be useful in certain scenarios, it is usually smarter to heal than to gen rush while inured, unless a generator is almost finished and you know the killer is in a chase on the other side of the map, or unless ruin is active and would cause too much generator regression if you took the time to heal. I'm not exactly proposing a big buff for it, just a relatively small increase that might make it a slightly more common perk to see people using.

  • I feel like she has 2 vital pieces in her kit, good anti-loop and good scouting ability since she can send crows to scout gens for her. However, she is definitely hard countered by survivors who just run straight forward to lengthen a chase as much as possible instead of going for loops. The press W to delay down as long as possible playstyle is further improved by the new exhaustion perk, which gives you 5 seconds of speed boost instead of 3 seconds when taking damage, you can basically cross the whole map by running in a straight line with the 5 second speed boost, which basically means every chase you do as killer will be at least 30 seconds if the survivor doesn't try to loop until the end of their running in a straight line. In a game where every second is vital for the killer, those long chases can really hurt, especially if the other survivors are gen rushing with Prove Thyself.

  • Yeah, I had a pretty poor Wraith match just today, the nerf to his post decloak lunge really hurt his anti-loop game. Lost 3 gens before I even got my first down because the 2 different people I chased managed to pallet my face due to his poor decloak lunge.

  • Was hoping for something a bit easier to play, but she seems to have A or even S tier potential once mastered, assuming she doesn't get nerfed too bad. I also really like her design.

  • I have no issues with current Freddy personally.

  • I think I had maybe 5 and only got the 100k, which is reasonable. For 100+ offierings you definitely should have got the full 1m.

  • Ultimately it is still Netflix who is choosing to pull the license, because they have some foolish notion that they actually have a chance of success as a gaming service in spite of their 1st party being a single indie-tier studio. Netflix is never going to be able to compete with the big boy gaming services, especially Xbox's Gamepass, with what they are offering, unless they make a huge investment into gaming, acquiring and building multiple studios, including AAA studios. Netflix's foray into gaming will most likely be short lived, and yet it is costing us a map as well as the ability for new players to buy Steve, Nancy, and Demo.

  • I really don't understand this whole push for needing to feel represented in games. I play as characters who I think are cool, I really couldn't care less about their gender, race, sexual orientation, etc. I'm a mostly white but part Native American male but I think Yui has the coolest design out all the original survivors, so I like to play as her even though I'm not female or Japanese. Killer I cycle through alot of them and don't really have a main, because variety is the spice of life, but I used to play Spirit a bit more than the rest, before I changed platforms and lost access to her.

  • Pretty strong currently from what I hear, but doesn't mean much since changes are inevitable before the final release. I just hope she ends up being at least a high B tier after the inevitable nerfs, I like her design and might just buy this chapter if she isn't nerfed into mediocrity or worse.

  • Same old, same old, Brandon being Brandon.

  • Trickster is indeed extremely annoying to go against at times, speaking as a survivor player I wish that the meter went down a bit faster between taking knife hits, because you have to evade him for a pretty long time to lose meter. On certain maps that are more open (like the cornfield) or that have long hallways with no cover where you can't dodge (like RPD) he can be truly devastating to go against.

I haven't played him myself yet since I don't own him, and I kind of doubt I will buy him since I'm on console and I hear the recoil between throws makes him too difficult to use on console.

  • I don't play killer as often as survivor and only own like half the killers currently (though I have owned more in the past before I switched from PS4 to Xbox Series version), so I can't really comment on the current state of many of these killers, but I agree with most of the tiers for the killers I do own currently. I also noticed that the killers in your top and bottom tier largely match with what Tru3Ta1ent said he thought were the strongest and weakest killers in recent videos. I just saw a video from him earlier today where he said he thought clown and Ghostface were the two weakest killers in the game, and he recently said that he thought the 4 best were Nurse, Blight, and two others who I forgot.

  • Balancing anything around killrates seems like a mistake, due to people who tunnel and camp. Any killer just about can get a 2k if they tunnel or camp.

I'd record some gameplay for you but I'm lonely and don't have multiple devices I can use (since Switch can't access PTB) so my best advice is to wait for some videos to release playing her.

Yeah, I'll just wait for Tru3Ta1ent's videos later tonight on Youtube, he always plays the new killers on PTB.

  • I like her design, but I need to see that killer power in action because the description is kind of confusing.

  • There are definitely less killer players, that much I can say for certain. Which isn't really surprising, playing survivor is a much more chill experience than playing killer, most of the time you are just doing gens, a killer has to be concentrating the whole match just about. But there are certain times of day when it is better to play survivor and times when it is better to play killer. From what I've seen it's easier to find a match as survivor during the day than it is at night, I can get a match as survivor in less than a minute usually during the day, but at night it can take as much as 5 minutes sometimes. The vice versa is also true, it can take me a really long time to find a match as killer during the day (often 2-3 minutes), but at night I can get matched in seconds. So clearly there is a killer shortage at night and a survivor shortage during the day.

  • It's a real shame that BHVR didn't spring for a renewal on their 2 year timed deal. Hopefully none of their other licensed characters had a timed deal.

  • @Crowman said:

MMR calculates based on kills and nothing else so a camping killer that gets a 4K is just as good as a killer who 12 hooks. Why would you pick the harder path to victory?

If that's true, what an utter garbage system they designed. It should be based on your medals, like the old system was. If all it does is count kills it encourages killers to camp and tunnel. No wonder playing survivor is so awful currently.

ehh I get what you’re saying but I doubt behavior will just give us these 2 boon perks that we have and never make any new ones. It’s kind of like the new hexes for survivors. But we’ll have to wait and see I could be wrong.

Oh, I agree, they will give us more, I just doubt we will see them so soon. They'll definitely want to come up with a survivor where the lore makes sense for them being able to make a boon totem.

  • @DbDCasual said:

    Boon: Vengeance

Survivors who have been hooked at least once and are within the Boon Totem's range benefit from the following effect:

    • The next time they stun the killer, the killer is instead put into the Prone state.

Prone: While prone a killer may be picked up by a survivor and placed on a hook. The killer must succeed at a difficult skill check to escape the hook.

Lol, could you imagine little tiny Feng Min picking up Clown or Nemesis and hooking them? Would look hilarious.

  • I kind of doubt we'll see new boon perks this soon, on the next season survivor. The reason that Mikaela can make them is that she is a literal witch, I doubt the next survivor will be a witch.

  • I don't mind it too much, but then I already knew the layout well from watching some let's plays of Res 2 Remake when it released. I feel like it's harder for survivor than killer, can be very annoying to find a gen to work on once you get down to just 3 or 4 gens left on the map, or to find a hex totem. I think every killer match I've played on it since I came back to the game after a 1 year break about a month ago has been at least a 2 sacrifice match for me.

  • I took a break for about a year. Been back for about a month now, playing pretty regularly. In that time I think I've gone against maybe 5 or 6 pinheads. I've seen pinhead more often than quite a few other killers. I'd estimate that the killers I've seen from least to most are: Hillbilly < Hag < Blight < Twins < Legion < Freddy < Demogorgon < Oni < Pyramidhead < Nurse < Wraith < Clown < Pinhead < Ghostface < Trickster < Pig < Myers < Deathslinger < Doctor < Huntress < Trapper < Bubba < Plague < Nemesis.

  • I'm going to guess it's a crazy bird lady, think the old woman from Home Alone 2, but more horrifying and twisted by the Entity.

    intro-1576007707.jpg

2 powers, one is passive, the other active. Passive power is the ability to see where crows fly within a certain distance of you, like the perk Spies from the Shadows, but with a longer cooldown and shorter activation distance and shows the aura of the survivor for like 2 seconds instead of just a loud noise notification. Active ability is that she sends the birds who are roosting on her arms, shoulders, and head after you, which harass you obscuring much of your vision and slow your movement speed by 5%. Maybe a 3rd ability that causes a single crow attack on each survivor in your terror radius, which causes them to scream and give a loud noise notification, which would be useful when paired with starstruck.

Add-ons that do things like increasing the duration of the aura you get from the passive crow ability, increasing the range of the passive power, increasing the duration of the bird swarm power, increasing the slowing effect of the bird swarm to 10%, adding an oblivious status effect while being harassed by the birds, etc. Maybe an iri add-on that replaces your normal swarm power with one that lets you teleport to crows that survivors disturb. Maybe another iri that lets your bird swarm do one damage state to healthy survivors at the end of the duration if the killer hasn't managed to get a hit in before the end, but with a downside like a longer duration and longer power cooldown.

  • I doubt I personally would use it, but I see no issues with adding it.

  • Probably Swamp or one of the indoor maps, mainly because of how hard it is to find totems on those.

  • I find it odd the people saying huntress. Lullaby is decent at least, it can really F up a survivor team if you get a really good spawn location on it. The other 2 are bad I'll grant you, but all 3 of wraith's are pretty meh. Who cares about a slightly bigger field of view, or scratch marks or blood pools that last longer? So many better perks than those.

  • @drpynz said:

He found the cube immediately because he was running Lethal Pursuer, running two addon's that make solving the Lament Configuration take longer are Larry's Remains and Liquified Gore. More than likely they were not cheating.

You will usually know when someone is cheating. I had a killer playing Trickster who came out of the walls, touched generators and 99% them and dropped pallets and broke them himself and also used the Wraith's wailing bell.

Well, the thing is that hooks were spawning as soon as he downed a teammate, then stopped while he was carrying them. Then as soon as the teammate was hooked they started spawning again. I saw that happen at least twice that game. Seemed really odd to me.

  • Wraith is pretty bad I think as far as killers go. Survivor, probably Ash overall, Flip Flop is decent if you are up against a slugging killer, or a killer who is scared to pick-up out of fear of DS, but Mettle and Buckle are kind of garbage.

  • I got the 100k, which is nice, because I think I only had like 3 of them left, which I spent less than 100k on.

  • Shadow is fine, Circle of Healing is pretty OP and largely makes Self-Healing and Inner Strength/Inner Healing feel less useful. Boon Totems in general make Inner Healing feel less useful because you feel like you are harming your team by destroying a totem that could be made a boon totem by a teammate later in the match.

  • I think Totems need a major rework. On some maps they are ridiculously difficult for survivors to find which can allow ruin and lullaby and devour to completely ruin a game, on others they have such stupid spawns that all of your totems are gone within a minute of the start of the match. Then there was the recent stupid nerf to the killer's totem defense perk, which got rid of the sound notification when a totem is being destroyed, that was put in just so that boon totems could be used more. Then there is how ridiculously powerful Circle of Healing is, so powerful that it made Nancy's totem healing perk seem awful in comparison.

  • As someone who plays both (roughly 70/30 survivor/killer), I definitely think that Killer has it way harder currently. Between bullying SWF groups. META killer perks that got nerfed, and the fact that killer is always more stressful since you have to be at 100% the whole match (while survivors get to chill on gens most of the match).

  • There are other games in this genre of multiplayer horror? Only ones I know of are either cheap indie junk that barely works, Friday the 13th, which was awful on release and has no playerbase now afaik, and Predator, which looked quite meh based on some gameplay I saw of it on release.

If DS were to automatically go off because your systems can't handle the game that makes it worse for a whole other section of players lol

It only really makes the game worse if you are a killer that tunnels. I never tunnel personally, I always go after the survivor that freed from the hook, rather than the one that was just on the hook. If the just freed survivor runs from the hook right at me I will just slug them, gives the match some slowdown as other survivors run to heal them.

  • Personally:

    1. Conjuring season- Ed and Lorraine Warren for survivors, not sure which villain I would want the most but there are lots of choices between the 3 movies, maybe the Nun demon.
    2. Until Dawn season- Sam and Mike as survivors (with premium skins for the other characters), Wendigo for the killer
    3. Tucker and Dale vs Evil season- Tucker and Dale as survivors, no killer
    4. Alien season- Ripley for Survivor and Xenomorph for killers
    5. Fatal Frame season- Miku for survivor (with premium skins for some of the other Fatal Frame playable characters), not sure which villain I want
  • It doesn't, and it's the main reason I don't run the perk. Feels like a waste of a perk slot when many killers fear it so much that they will just slug you and go after someone else. If they removed the skill check or at least made the zone bigger I might use it more often.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

Ranks aren't used for matchmaking so they really don't mean much anymore.

I thought they used a mix of MMR and ranks these days. So they match you with people of a similar MMR and a similar rank usually, unless there is a particularly skilled player at low rank, in which case they can be matched with red rank players (like I have been seeing after the reset, today while I was Iron 4 I got matched with 3 red rank teammates).

Either way, my matches are definitely worse after a reset. Both yesterday and today I have only only had like 3 good survivor matches out of probably 15+ survivor matches. Before the reset I was getting a good match like every 2 out of 3 games.

  • Crazy bird lady killer? Think the bird lady from Home Alone 2, lol. Power is a swarm of crows that harass and slow enemies in chases, as well as some kind of interactivity with the wildlife crows around the map? No idea, lol.

  • He is very situational, on certain maps with poor cover he is super deadly, on others you can loop him for quite awhile, especially if you have the right position on the map. While I agree it is annoying to get downed by him due to the bad luck of running into him in a spot where there is no counterplay, I'm really not sure what the best way for BHVR to go about nerfing him would be. Slower knife throws? Lower knife carrying capacity? Slower move speed while knife throwing? They definitely don't need to overnerf him, his whole character is his ability to end chases quickly, he has poor gen pressure and speed.

What is kobe and sandbagging? I'm sorry, still haven't heard all the terms yet apparently

Kobe is when someone frees themselves from the hook right before a teammate comes to save them from the hook, it's a reference to Kobe Bryant. Sandbagging is when someone just gets in the way of a teammate when they're trying to get to a pallet or something, like a big useless sandbag blocking their path, or drops the pallet early right in the face of their teammate, and then the killer gets a free hit on them. Both are very insufferable things to do to your teammates.

  • Sometimes I will back out if I see a key and some flashlights, because that is often an indication of a sweaty SWF.

  • It was bad for me the first day, but I only got one infinite loading screen yesterday, so it seems to be improving.

  • I only got to play like 2 matches with it before they killswitched it due to framerate issues it was causing or something, so I can't really say. From the 2 matches I played and the description, it feels pretty powerful.

One thing that I hate about boon totems in general is that they make me feel dirty when I run Inner Strength/Inner Healing, I feel guilty for destroying a totem that my teammates can turn into a boon totem. I kind of hate that they introduced boon totems because of that, because Inner Healing is generally better than self-care because it is faster, but now I feel like I can't use it.

  • Are we playing the same game? When I play survivor I feel like I have all the power, except for when a killer decides to tunnel or hook camp me. As a killer I often feel powerless, especially when matched up against a good SWF.
