Doing amazing work! Thank you for this.
No problem my darling.
This was supposed to be some kind of blockade against cheaters I believe. Tbh it seems to be bothering mainly fair players but I might be wrong.

But whats stopping me from hiding to escape then?
exactly - Survivors would automatically switch to hide in lockers until EGC. What would be the point of even trying from survivors side?
OP gave very invalid argument

No problem brother.

Now it works like it should for killers by the design. Survivors still should get penalized for leaving
-
Agreed.
I remember times when it took twice as long as now and you had to accept EVERY item you've received, just like now with mystery boxes.
We should get rid of these mystery boxes opening animations, make filling each node instant, and get rid of ALL annoying information pages you get each time you level up. It's totally unnecessary that you see it every single f'ing time you level up...
-
I would say that's it's going to be cringe once again like 400k bloodpoints. TBH, getting like 300 Auric cells would be pretty cool - Small amount that people could accumulate over months and get the skin they finally wanted.

Will not post Haunted by daylight tome however as it is short lived and you cannot probably keep nodes for later :/

This tierlist, even is very subjective and biased is extremely misleading. Placing Sadako in A+ is nuts, and your comments "Lol crazy" are not changing it by any means. Her power is underwhelming compared to any killer you've put in S/A/B tier.
Placing nightmare in B is just hilarious. These 2 killers should be placed in a category "DO NOT PLAY". The only thing sadako does better than freddy is at sharing her perks. Her perks are solid and great, while Freddy on top of being an absolute trash has absolutely trash perks.

It is not about "letting them ruin games", you cant avoid that situation if they decide to afk or leave, you are not EAC or a BHVR employee to address this and punish players.
Maybe i shouldnt have said worse, but purposely slugging someone who does not want to play is not much of an improvement.
And i dont know in what world leaving someone bleeding out on the floor can be am encouragement to start playing. You are just taking out your frustration with them.
It is an improvement. We are not EAC/BHVR but we still have some power to address it within the rules we are given. We are only utilizing it.

what do you guys think I've been playing killer a lot recently and of course I see your classic first hook leaver who die on hook intentionally so when they get unhooked before they die i slug them the rest of the game and let them bleed out while playing normally with everyone else. seems fair I either waste their time like they waste the other 3s or they wise up and play
Great idea, as a killer main I can say it's a fair approach. I always feel bad for the rest 3 survs that are left in the match when 1st hook just suicides so I try to compensate them by letting them pallet me or blind with flashlights and finish 2-3 gens before I kill them.
I'll try your solution - it seems good to me.

60% Chance someone will give up after they realise the Killer is Nurse (or any killer they dislike)
25% Chance if they go first down
15% Chance if they do a big mistake and they just can't handle it
This gentleman has the same estimation as me. Good job sir.

Incentives are good enough - the problem is with score events that are ridiculously bad at the moment.
I don't play survivors because it's unrewarding. 1250 points for sitting for 90 seconds? gruesome.
Score events for survivors are pathetic.

The math has been done, so I can no longer argue with it: the grind is more. The thing I think we can all agree on is that the 20k BP nodes that you're forced to buy are stupid. Literally, who wants to do that? Spend 20k to prestige, when before it was free?
20k prestige node should be the least of your concerns.
WGLF/BBQ removal is the biggest problem.

I agree.
In fact we're not getting any exclusive content. On top of that the content we get is miserable. I would rather see massive amounts of bp/iri or like 500 auric cells instead so I can buy a character/perks with it.

@I_CAME said:
Why is everyone obsessed with punishing people? Is there a problem with trying to give people more incentive to finish a game? There is clearly some fundamental problem that makes people hook suicide as much as they do. Making gameplay better and increasing rewards should be the route they go down.
I agree, we should be encourage to do positive things instead of punishing for every single unwanted behaviour.
Promoting over discouraging.
-
I feel you man. It is annoying for both you and the killer. Trust me.
I'm a killer main and if I see someone suiciding on 1st hook when 5 gens are left I want to quit this game.
It simply feels unrewarding to play that game. As a killer I know I lost a lot of potential BP if that survivor was unhooked and as a survivor I know this match is aleady lost and I won't be able to farm any BP at all.
We need to increase BP gains overall, make it rewarding for ppl remaining in the trial if someone suicides/gets camped so everyone has something off of this match.
-
If I manage to get a prestige for 1.5-1.6 I consider it to be really good leveling. 1.5 requires you to trick entity extremely well throughout all 50 lvls.

Yeah, i am quite sad my bbq is basically dead and i have no longer my personal lucrative goal in game.
But you are disregarding the possibility with the new system to systematically target perks on your main. You level them until you have all perks available and then prestige the character whose perks you sepcifically want and boom, only those appear in the bloodweb. No more random waiting for dozens of bloodwebs to get a specific perk on your main (seen from the perspective of a fresh account). Then you level your main again until you have those 3 perks all on tier 3 and go for the next teachables. In comparison this should save you dozens of bloodwebs.
And to the 10 levels for prestige, you save on average 1,5 bloodwebs by getting all 3 tier one perks immediately which would be generally 90k with the old system at level 50.
And that couple with the fact that once you have everything you will never have to do it again but the new character and still get all perks on them is a heavy reduction.
It's just in the long and not the short run.
Your way of thinking is invalid.
If I had a main just as you say, I would greatly benefir from the old system, since all perks I would have already unlocked. If there's a new killer with new perks I would lvl him up to 40 then toss away, and focus back on my main.
Now I have to level up new killer to 50 and prestige him paying a fee wasting around ~500k-600k.
New system is bad without BBQ

I'm not so sure about it being better for killers. With survivors you can just unlock the first tier and focus all BP on the one main you play. With killers, you ha e to unlock t3 on nearly every killer because nobody plays just one killer. Then you jave to sink further BP into each killer to get a collection of addons and offerings.
somewhat agreed.
Maybe let's say it differently: Old system was better for survivors. New one is inefficient and the value it brings is worthless for survivors.
New system is straight up worse for killers. Especially for new players.
-
@burt0r said:
It only FEELS worse because you don't have any intermediate or fast gains with the new system. Everything comes AFTER prestiging a specific character and then only one perk tier at a time.
In contrast before you would have to get lucky to get your desired perks and perk tiers from the whole pool but would get small kicks when something popped up in between until you had everything you wanted.
Now there is no longer a random factor but the time between the individual visible goals has become longer but predictable.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3134673#Comment_3134673
You don't have to prestige characters 3 times for their teachables, afaik. Just once, to unlock the perk on all other characters and then you can obtain the higher perk tiers just like before by leveling your main.
So the only increase is from level 40 to level 50 plus the prestige fee.
But in exchange you can specify which non general perks you want to be in the bloodwebs at time if you are a new player. (To a certain extent, depending on the amount of general perks left)
It's much worse since you have to level up much more characters you wouldnt like to play. Additional 10 lvls is A LOT at lvl 40.
So in order to get some sort of old system we need to P1 all characters and STILL look for desired perks in the bloodweb.
It's even more ridiculous for survs who has to do the exact same scenario for every character. 10 Additional levels. Insane.
New grind is bad. It feels worse because in fact it is worse. Espacially with your avatar icon gone. Period.
-
The grind feels worse because it IS worse. The new system gives GREAT advantage to veteran players who had prestiged at least once most of the characters. For them it is indefinitely better.
On the other hand, new players have to prestige each character 3 times to make the most of the new system. On top of that, BBQ and WGLF were taken away so comparing old and new system New players:
- have to prestige each character 3 times instead of leveling them up to lvl 40 (massive downgrade from the old system)
- farm roughly 2x more for each prestige level due to bbq and wglf removal.
The grind is simply terrible right now and it greatly scares off any new player who realizes how much does he have to farm to play the build he wanted.
It's just hillarious and miserable at the same time.

It would be interesting to see a version of BBQ to be introduced as base-kit to the game to encourage killers not only with BPs but with info not to proxy and camp.
I think that aura reading is a little bit too much. Overbuff to the killer. There should be some sort of incentive NOT to camp, i.e. bonus points for every action with a survivor encountered at least 40m away from the hook etc.
There should also be some sort of compensation for survivors camped like bonus points in every category for every second when a killer is within 12m from the hook
We should Encourage people not to camp and give some compensation for players affected by unfun mechanics. Simple as that. Camping and tunneling shouldn't be forbidden, but there should simply be a reason for players to avoid such behaviours.
-
@Deathstroke said:
Good ideas here to makes offerings better the brown and yellow bp ones are just terrible. Grind is bigger than ever and bhvr still took away BBQ bo bonus which was stupidies idea ever that's why killers camp ans tunnel more as they have no reason to leave hook or to go chase someone else. They just want the match quickly over if there is nothing to gain. But if there is even one cake killers will always play more fair then but that does not happen every match.
Another agree. killers took BBQ because of BP bonus. Side effect of this was reduction of tnneling and camping because they could see next targets.BHVR decided to get rid of it in the name of health of the game...

They re-arranged the grind but it doesn't feel improved.
We still waste insane amounts of BP on things we don't want and will never use. If I have to get through two purple meme add on nodes to buy a good green one, the green add on actually costs 17k. That's complete BS, for lack of a better term.
The removal of tiers is the solution in combination with the prestige rework. I know the devs say it's too time consuming or difficult to do, but they shouldn't have waited this long to address the grind in the first place. It's only going to get worse, and that is the long term answer. Prestige rework+keeping perk tiers is a band aid that falls off after two chapters when everyone has to prestige all over again, and we'll be here talking about the asinine grind again.
Effectively cutting BP gain in half while parroting the "grind reduction" line is some high tier gaslighting. Really bizarre stuff.
The whole issue has been handled in a bizarre fashion. BHVR seems weirdly committed to having an adversarial relationship with the playerbase on QoL issues like the grind.
Another respectful gentleman.
It's about damn time to get grind readressed properly. Prestige rework is fine but combined with WGLF and BBQ removal the grind actually feels way worse than before.

I don’t think anybody “relies” on brown offerings, yellows and greens are common enough that you can use those every match and never touch a brown in the first place.
But yeah, I wouldn’t turn away increasing the bonuses on the offerings to make up for their costs.
Nobody relies on any of these offerings as all of them are clearly trash -.-.
Even if they were 300% nobody would rely on them. They just wouldn't be considered total garbage anymore.
-
I absolutely Freaking agree with this gentleman. Finally there's someone reasonable on these forums. Damn, long time no see.
And your ideas are great! Very, very balanced and fun changes. These would bring fresh air to most annoying parts of the game!
we also have these MFers that need to be buffed hella lot. I think they should begin with 100% bonus in a category and go up to 300% for green ones in order for them to be reasonable.
But tbh - I don't expect any of these changes to be implemented as bhvr is clearly satisfied with the amount of grind. They don't have to progress through the game so they can't taste their own medicine sadly.

@konchok said:
I don't necessarily agree, but I do think that survivors should be earning more points.
Here are some of my suggestions
- 500 points for completing the first generator or last generator (This can be earned by anyone that is on that generator when it completes)
- 100 points for recovering from dying state
- 2000 points in survival for being the last survivor to escape if all other survivors escaped.
- Great skill check when healing another survivor can be doubled to 300
- Protection can also be increased by 100 to become 300
- Escaped can be increased by 100 to become 500
- Cleansing Totems should have their bonus increased by 500 points. (1500 for non-hexed, 2000 for hexed)
With these changes, I feel that survivors would escape with a lot more points.
Killer bp is basically perfect, but I do think there's one change that I'd make
- 2000 bp in the sacrifice category hooking each survivor twice. Right now, getting to 10k is impossible if you don't get to end game collapse. This would allow for 10k even if you kill all survivors before end game collapse happens and it would encourage spreading hooks. You cannot get the bonus if you one hook any survivor.
Totally agree - survivors are frustrating to play exactly due to reasons specified above. This role is not rewarding. Amounts of BPs gained on survivor are hilarious.
-
Uncap the categories completely but make the cap for total BP gained per match i.e. 64k (2x more than the old system since we had WGLF and BBQ bonuses removed) and increase BP gains overall. Currently the grind is just hillarious

why can't the dev make the bonus from BBQ and WGLF basekit? I mean the grind is not that much less.
the grind is not less at all. These bonuses should be basekit + we should get incentives. Then we would have true grind reduction everyone is asking for.

That's not what it means I'm afraid, that's reading too much into the words that we're saying. We are clearly stating that there's other ways to earn bloodpoints, and the ways in which BP can be earnt - it's most definitely not saying that MMI are a replacement. Especially as MMI will not be available at all times, they will be there for if/when which side needs it at any specific time of day, region, MMR rating etc.
I'm literally shocked and disgusted by how toxic you are towards the community. The grind reduction BS has been mathematically debunked multiple times using calculations and even excel spreadsheets. You don't even need f'ing spreadsheets to notice that your "grind reduction" reduces the grind for veteran players. New players are screwed up more than ever. I don't even feel like playing a single match since the amount of BP I get (~38k per game) is absolutely trash. I would have to farm for over 28 hours to get ONE character to P3 and REMEMBER!!!! We have to prestige p0-p3 every character one after another in order to make the most of the new sick system.
I'm done.

@Mandy said:

They are not replacements for the bonus BP on BBQ/WGLF - they're purely there for matchmaking, there's nothing hidden about "making up for something" in the slightest.
So this is even worse for you - You still haven't acknowledged, and DON'T want to realise that these bonuses are MANDATORY TO MAKE THE GRIND BEARABLE!!!!!!!!

Probably just going to be focusing on tomies for a while, I guess.
Just a weird shift I noticed in my own gameplay habits @_@
I absolutely agree. Once BP bonuses are gone I'm more likely to play 1-2 matches and go to sleep as due to amount of BP I get every game (it's ~38k every time) I feel like I cannot unlock anything in reasonable future. It seem like what I have unlocked pre-patch is everything I'm gonna get unlocked.
The progression system is just straightly bad and new players are extremely discouraged to progress as the current pace and the amount of perks to unlock are... horrendous to say the least.
-
it's still not about what is balanced or not balanced.
It's about having something in return for spending so much time doing nothing because killer sits you... duh.
-
distressing - increases terror radius, crucial for this build
Caulrophobia - makes healing hard, synergy with distressing
unnerving presence - makes skillchecks hard, synergy with distressing
Last perk is one of these two:
Hex: Lullaby - makes skillchecks hard, synergy with unnerving presence and caulrophobia. Risky choice - gets found relatively quickly
Overcharge - makes kicking gens meaningful, synergy with unnerving presence.
Add ons - 2 "Calm" editions to increase terror radius even more, synergy with caulrophobia, unnerving presence and overcharge
Strategy is not to spam static blast whenever possible. Use it only if you cannot find someone for an extended period of time, and don't raise survivors madness level above 2.

Oh gosh, another day where I got my butt kicked 6 times out of 6.
I am giving up for today.
- STBFL is very insane when used for camping
- Gens are too slow, and boring when paired with the slowdown meta
- Chases are too short
- And finally, the grind is still terrible. Maybe slightly improved, but still too much for a paid game
Can we get an official statement? are the devs happy with the situation, or is something being done soon?
I am alright both ways but I would like to know to decide whether to give up on DBD or not
Disagree with everything except the grind:
- STBFL is not a problem - whether used for camping or not. It's just slightly better. Still not amazing, but definitely step in a good direction
- gens are ok. You know why killers use slowdown perks? Because survivors are abusing loops and bully killers. Slowdown perks are used to make the chances even.
- chases are perfectly fine now. Killers are still loopable, not as asnnoyingly long as they used to be. It's also a step in a good direction.
- Grind is ridiculous, disgusting absurd. New players don't even want to get involved in this freaking mess. It takes roughly 57 hours to get single character to P3 and new system basically forces you to level characters to P3 one by one. Grind should be at least cut in half.
-
Lack of BP bonuses and new grind that is a crap.
It is unbearable and makes me honestly not willingly to play more than a one game daily because after getting 35k of BP I know it will take me more than a month in order to get P3 on one character.
