Ok, I play killer nearly 100% of the time - I was programmed to scoff at this nerf plea. But I tried the WA+FD combo for the first time this morning (admittedly all on Vecna):
- 4K, two DCs
- 4K
- 3K, 1 DC (but the bot got the hatch, ironically)
- 4K, two DCs
And this is in Japan, where I normally see a bot once every 50 matches (survivors just don't DC that much here). This is hilariously OP, I was seeing auras pretty much 80% of the time. I will run it right up until it gets Ultimate Weapon treatment (my guess is the oblivious is removed and the range is reduced to 4 meters, and the effect lasts for 30 seconds after full depletion only).
-
Why? Because killers do not care about bloodpoints. 85% of the maps are survivr sided - so map offerings have very limited value. And except for a handful of killers, purple and red add-ons are mostly useless or in egregious cases actively harmful.
If I could be guaranteed a 2-4K in every match I ever play and be capped at 8,000 BP a match, I'd take that in a second.
-
Rancor, for the following reasons:
(1) If (like me) you struggle to keep gens from being done quickly, pair it with NWO. When you get to 1 gen (or 2 when you know one will blow quickly), find the obsession and stick on them until gens are done. Mori, and with NWO you still have time to claim another scalp. As long as you find the obsession at broadly the right time, this is a pretty much guaranteed 2K (at least).
(2) If you have someone on hook at endgame, the obsession can't hook bomb (they will probably never risk being farther than 5m from the open gate). That means (unless you have the obsession on hook) you are dealing with at most 2 people - and if you also run STBFL, which I do, 2 survivors can't rescue anyone without a hook trade.

My survivor queues are shorter than my ex's pp.
My killer queues are so long that by the time I find a match someone somewhere in the world had time to graduate high school, go to university, get a bachelor's, a post-graduate, a P.h.D, marry, have children despite the state of the economy and find out the meaning of life.
Please tell us your secret.
I think (purely anecdotally) that East Asia (I am an expat in Japan, mostly paired with Japanese and Chinese, sometimes Southeast Asians) naturally favors playing survivors over playing killers. In the last 3 years of playing, I can count on one hand the number of times I had to wait more than 60-90 seconds in the killer queue- usually it is 10-15 seconds at most.
I would love to see data about regional differences in kill rate, perk usage, SWF usage, etc.

If you feel bad, then don´t use it?
Well, not THAT bad.
-
As a killer, I love him- but not sure how I would react as a survivor. With increased BP during the event, I can run the purple that gives you two free nightfalls (and the green that extends nightfall for 20 seconds) every single match (plus corrupt and other gen slowdowns). I have to imagine that spending half the match in Nightfall is super annoying, even when it doesn’t cause an actual medical issue.
-
I find the higher I get on MMR, the more useful Rancor is. As long as you are careful that the person you have on the hook is not the obsession, only 2 of the 3 remaining survivors can play with you (and that makes hook bombing and bodyblocking harder). If you previously killed 1 and have 1 on hook (and one of the two remaining is the obsession), they basically can't rescue.
-
As a wraith main, I welcome the new SB (or anything) meta. Besides nurse and blight, wraith is the only killer that won’t completely lose chases with non-DH exhaustion perks. Sure, they can deny you a hit at a vault or drop same as any other killer, but you just cloak and are back on them 5 seconds later.
-
Nerfing Pig might help this.

@Marigoria said:
I'm sorry but are you implying that Nurse and Blight and even a few others are hopeless compared to Bubba?
Nope, just saying there is a FEELING of danger/fear around him that even they can't match.

The game revolves around hooking multiple survivors. This playstyle is one the devs don’t want to encourage and have plans to rectify so by all accounts killers should not be more like him
Its not JUST that, actually. If you've been a good little boy and hooked everyone 1-2 times (and are chasing the 2 hooker), for anyone else the t-baggers just get in between you and continually reset the chase between COH heals. With the saw? They stay away.

Sprint Burst is the better perk by a mile. Can use it while healthy, It gets you outta deadzones, and provides you much more distance, and can't be baited out. No clue why people use dead hard over it. Probably because you get the choice of using it when you want while injured.
Sprint burst is better in maybe two, very narrow situations:
(1) You hear the heartbeat, and instantly run 100% in the other direction.
(2) You are oblivious and a killer is two meters from you when you first see them. Note that this doesn't apply to Wraith, who is still faster than you in cloak and will just cancel the uncloak and catch up in 3 seconds.
Outside of that, DH is better by a country mile. You won't run EXACTLY the right direction "away" 75%+ of the time (for example, a corner gen- if they are coming from the center they will see map border runs and cut you off). And it takes skill to keep up for when you need it, unlike DH.
-
I think she is weak overall, but she is the first and only killer in the game where you can run all 3 of her base perks and feel reasonably powerful. Barely any other killer has even two non-useless perks, and nobody’s set synergizes like hers.
-
double comment
-
I think the post-manifesting flickering gives her depth nobody has completely thought through yet. Demanifesting in a loop, manifesting, and then using the invis as cover is great mindgaming potential- she really is a better pig at that point since the crouch attack is useless. That doesn’t put her at nurse level, but combined with the teleport and low TR I think she is solidly A or at least B tier.*
*Until the post-manifest flicker is reduced to .25 seconds and the extenders nerfed in 2 months.
-
i think people are underestimating what a 115 killer with a 24m TR (16 with M&A) can do. Yes, Meyers has that too, but she doesn’t have to waste 60 or 90 seconds or more to get it and she has a lot more in the rest of her kit than him.
-
Don't sleep on Quentin.
-
Right now, I get the feeling that people who say she is UP merely use her power to get the first hit, chase the survivor through a few pallets without dematerializing, and then use teleport to go to the other end of the map.
Hint: use teleport offensively during a chase. You start with someone with 3 or 4 passive stacks and teleport in front of them when they are running near a TV? You might turn the game into a 3 on 1 real quick. Played right, it is an RBT you can advance during chases.
I am not saying that makes her a super S tier killer (I think she needs a few mild buffs to condemnation generation), but there is no way we’ve completely learned her yet.
-
Glad you love it! Most people wouldn’t like that, but you are seeing the bright side and that’s important. Spend that 5 minutes with family and friends!

So there are 5 boxes. But they only need them if they finish a gen.
So if they all try to get out of the trap before doing a gen, mainly judging by the dead giveaway that y they all start with the traps, chances are, the killer is going to doubt their selection, or not, but at least they get maybe one survivor killed, not all 4.
How are they getting 4k?
The whole point of the bear traps is stalling if you use them at the beginning, just don't do gens until everyone is free from them. If the killer is afk, you got nothing to lose.
If (due to RNG) all four keys are in the box Pig is AFK in front of, there is no way for the survivors to escape. They would all die simultaneously if a gen is done, and if no gen is done the game never ends.
-
Pigs use the rare iri that makes all 4 survivors start with traps. If that pig goes afk in front of a box, somewhere between 0 and 4 of the keys are in that (inaccessible) box. The math is a bit complicated, but if even one gen is done there is roughly a 1 in 210 chance you 4K (and a 63 percent chance of at least one kill, etc.) since the survivors can’t check your box.
-
You’re right, I forgot to mention another pig nerf but it won’t be massive, will just take her from C- to D+.
-
I like this body blocking guy. Sounds like an alpha male straight shooter with upper management written all over him. Learn his wisdom and apply it next game.

I'd be shocked if that would work against anyone with at least a little bit of experience
If the killer is just standing over a downed person waiting for the timer to tick down at the EGC, most survivors know what you're doing and will react accordingly (either waiting to unhook the person to make sure they can still escape or just peace out and leave the poor bastard to die).
I actually find it works better against higher ranked teams, because they are more likely to stand around and bully you (the inexperienced just leave, quite sensibly). Plus, if you deliberately make sure your hat person is on second (not third) hook when BW activates, they usually believe a rescue and complete 4 person escape is possible. Deliberately not downing (but continuing to chase) the hatted person in EGC also can work, because it encourages time-wasting shenanigans from all survivors.

@Crowman said:
The math you posted is a bit flaw. It's a 25% chance that a single key is the box you block, but that's not the same as the chance that at least 1 key is in the box.
If you want to find the chance that at least 1 survivor will die if you body block a single box the math is as following:
1 - (1 - chance of success) ^ number of rbts
1 - (1 - 0.25) ^ 4
1 - (0.75) ^ 4
0.68359375 or 68% chance that at least 1 survivor is dying.
For the odds you kill 1, 2, 3, or 4 survivors is as following:
1 - 42%
2 - 21%
3 - 4.6%
4 - 0.4%
Note: The math here is a bit more complicated to type out, but you can use this calculator: https://stattrek.com/online-calculator/binomial.aspx
Thanks, I have been humbled by someone with actual math abilities. This actually makes the trolling more potent! A 63% chance at a 1-2K is pretty awesome for AFKing. Will cross-reference to this at the top.

BBQ, absolutely. I need the money (it keeps you in purple add-ons every match), I need the information (nothing better for snowballing and deciding whether you need to stay in the area). People who say they only run it for one or the other are...not being honest. They will never design a perk with two such powerful effects again, and I'm sure they have decided to nerf it but are spacing it out from other nerfs to not cause a mass exodus of killers.

If you equip pop, all killers have time to kick gens. It more than makes up for the time you'll take to walk over and kick the gen, its a great perk.
True, but I don't think any of the other ones (surveillance, eruption, etc.) justify the time sink.

Wraith is fine, play Wraith against a competent team and you'll get destroyed. He's trash in certain tiles where you'll need to be a M1aith.
Err, no. If you are visible in a chase for more than 1-2 seconds at a time, you are doing it wrong. Cardinal rule with Wraith: NEVER chase while visible, unless you are uncloaking in lunging range.

Being able to run one of his strongest Add Ons (if not THE strongest) for hundred games just shows how stupid the high BP-Gain in combination with the low number of different things in the Killer Bloodwebs can be.
It should not be possible to run a purple Add On every game IMO.
For using it, I only used it a couple of times for Grab Challenges on Indoor Maps. But other than that, I never use it.
Actually, I've used two purple add-ons (ASB and purple shadow dance) for 100 games in a row. My stockpiles of both have actually gotten bigger over that span, all you need to do is:
- Prioritize black ward over everything
- Prioritize ASB next
- Prioritize purple shadow dance next
- Always run BBQ
- When you don't have a black ward, do a pudding/streamer/cake for double BP
- do tome challenges
- otherwise buy the cheapest brown add-ons to save cash, avoid all other yellows, greens, purples and reds if not double BP items
- get P3 for the slight increase in purples

If you need the red addon to play a killer, you shouldn't call them your main
Luckily All Seeing Blood is purple.

I'll have to try that- never really done the "hit and run" build, since survivors seem to heal up so quickly (but then again, I don't run anti-heal perks to lengthen the time period). But chases are generally extremely short with bamboozle (combined with shadow dance) since you can short-circuit any gym or the shack pretty much immediately.
-
@JoByDaylight said:
What perks are you running?
You really shouldn’t be dependent on a broken wall hack add on. It will ruin your gameplay with other killers as well.
I only play wraith (perks are BBQ, Corrupt, Bamboozle, and a rotating 4th- Devour, NOED, Blood Warden, No Way Out, etc.). Other add-on is always purple shadow dance (for chewing through pallets and bamboozle synergy).

All seeing blood + silent bell isn't overpowered. The type of people who won't run when they hear the heartbeat and see the red stain are the type of people you can catch with a loud bell anyway.
All seeing blood + purple shadow dance (plus bamboozle) is the true power combo. Fake the uncloak at every pallet, and half of the pallets in the game will be gone in the first 60 seconds. Try avoiding wraith with no pallets and windows blocked.
And the bestest power combo is purple shadow dance, uncloak-when-smashing-pallets addon, brutal strength plus fire up. Fake the uncloak, smash pallet, and you'll catch up with the runner before your mini speed boost runs out. That's the only build I've ever ran that caused red ranks to DC and rage afterward.
-
Wraith is only oppressive if he runs all-seeing blood and shadowdance together. At that point, you can't ever stealth him, you can't lose him in a chase, he'll win every gym mindgame because he sees you 100% of the time, and he eats pallets almost as fast as bubba.
Before the wraith buff, I could BARELY get him to 8 or 9 (over several months of trying). I got to 1 with that add-on combo within a couple weeks. I'll bet anything that all-seeing blood gets nerfed sooner rather than later. Without that, he's a solid C+ or B- killer.
-
This is wraith right now (and I say this from the POV of a wraith main):
(1) Uncloak and get first hit unless they are very near a pallet or window
(2) Cut off the window with Bamboozle (an absolute must have for any wraith), and go to the pallet.
(3) Most survivors will just stand in the pallet, waiting for you to uncloak. Bait the pallet by going to 95% uncloak and twitching forward, then immediately destroy with purple shadow dance. Stay cloaked, catch up to survivor in 2 seconds, and repeat.
(4) If a survivor tries to loop you, stand in the pallet and fake one direction while going the other (while uncloaking). You'll either get a hit or a drop in one rotation. Shadow dance smash it, and repeat the above.
If you combine shadow dance with all seeing blood (and run bamboozle), there is no chance to escape. At most as a survivor can chain 3 or 4 pallets together if you are on Ormond or something else ridiculous (and then have half the map deadzoned after you are downed). I've had "chases" where I never once uncloaked and smashed 5 or 6 pallets.

Yes we are because anyone with a brain realizes how stupid that it. Camping, tunneling and slugging are the most complained about and hated thing in this game and has caused more people to quit then anything else. The fact that the devs keep trying to say those are legit strategies is only hurting the game in the long run. Keeping those things in the game only increased toxicity, divides the community even more, and make people hate on the devs an extreme amount. Literally nothing good comes from keeping those things in the game and nothing good comes from the devs continued defense and support of it.
Above about rank 10, if you rotate hooks among four survivors (i.e., before anyone gets a third everyone has two) you. will. lose. the. game. with. a. 0. or 1. k. every. single. time. (unless you are a god nurse/spirit maybe).
Solve that problem, and we can talk about banning tunneling. Because the one thing worse than tunneling/camping is 1 killer for every 100 survivors and 3 hour survivor queues.
-
All of these comments about wraith being a helpless M1 killer if there are windows ignore the existence of Bamboozle. Run that and purple shadow dance, and wraith’s one big weakness Is erased.
-
Wraith with purple shadow dance, purple all seeing and above all bamboozle can’t be stealthed, can’t be shaken in a chase, and eats pallets at a bubba rate if you are good at the fake decloak. And if you run BBQ at P3, you can run both of those addons virtually 100 percent of the time.
One big hint with that build: if you are ever visible for more than the 2 or 3 second window where you actually hit the survivor or cause a pallet drop, you are doing it wrong. Cloak and decloak constantly.
-
Before the buff, I had a hard limit of about r6 on him (for years- I simply could not pip above that). Since the buff, I rocketed to rank 1-2 in a couple days and can stay there fairly easily.
(1) The primary reason for this is you don't need windstorm anymore (I haven't ran it once since the buff). Pre-buff, purple windstorm (or at least green) was mandatory. Now, you can run all sorts of interesting add-on combos.
(2) As everyone is beginning to realize, All Seeing- Blood is the most powerful add-on in the game. It trivializes stealth and jungle gyms. At P3 and with BBQ always in my build, I can run that add-on 98% of the time (just prioritize it and black wards in every bloodweb).
(3) All Seeing- Spirit and Coxcombed Clapper are NOT the second best add-ons- you can't run them 95%+ of the time, even with P3/BBQ.
Purple Shadow Dance is actually the second best add-on, and it can also be at 95% uptime (when not up, use the green version). For nearly every single loop (except extremely long ones, like the one near the pre-rework Thompson house) you can do the following:
(a) The survivor will stop in the pallet, you stand next to him and uncloak 95% of the way, twitch forward, and then insta-kill the pallet when dropped (still in cloak).
(b) the survivor will stop at one end of the loop. Stand cloaked on the pallet, twitching both directions, and then use the speed burst for a hit (if the loop is a bit too long, at a minimum you'll get close enough to force a pallet drop- recloak and insta-kill it).
Shadow Dance makes this possible, you will tear through pallets at a Bubba rate and virtually never get in a 3 loop/pallet stun situation.
-
NEED FOR SPEED
Start the trial with a .04 m/s reduction to base speed. Every time you hook a survivor you receive a token (up to a maximum of 6/8/10 tokens). For each token, your base speed is increased by .02 m/s. [i.e., going up 5% takes 10 hooks]
WALK OF SHAME
Activates when at least one set of Exit Gates are opened. If you hit a survivor with a Basic Attack or Special Attack, that survivor may not pass through the Exit Gates for 8/10/12 seconds. Cooldown of 60 seconds.
-
At the border between red and purple ranks (which is my skill level), I will get 0-1 kills if I try to rotate hooks to get a 12 hook. It simply isn't feasible. It only works on people that are a few notches below the killer's skill level (and the killer is trying to be somewhat nice and/or double pip).
-
Just make gen repairs 50% slower in the first 60 or 90 seconds (figure out the timing in the PTR). Sure, some survivors may try to wait that out (ala corrupt intervention, although even at high ranks I've seen very, very few teams try to completely hide for 120 seconds), but that creates some fun cat and mouse in the beginning anyway.
-
Generally I'd say it won't be nerfed, because it (like Stridor) is a perk that gives incredible value but only to a very small cast of characters (Spirit, Nurse, Wraith and maybe Hag), and for everyone else its very weak. Those types of perks generally fly under the radar.
-
Dragon's Grip is fun, but too chancy for me. You can chase 2 or 3 away from the almost done gen, but if they are paying attention they'll notice if you stop and go back to set up a gen ambush.
-
I haven't gotten to play yet, but this looks like it could be pretty strong on the new Wraith (especially if he is running the 12m perma aura reading add-on) even without supporting it with other perks. Zoom into an area, see a couple auras, down somebody and just take off in the general direction of whomever fled- with zoom zoom and the aura reading add-on you'll probably find them again even if scratch marks are gone.
-
I've said this before, but Pennywise's power is easy- let him morph into the 2 or 3 killers that the 4 survs you are facing DC most to (on average). Then you're REALLY hitting their greatest fears!

So, this just happened to me like an hour ago:
I managed to get the last gen, doors powered. I ran to the door, opened it. Went back for my wife ALL THE WAY ACROSS THE MAP, then as we were turning back to get out, NOED popped. We circled the outskirts of the map to find the Trapper hooking a teammate and guarding the open door. I managed to outplay him at the pallet near the exit and Sprint Burst right into a closed Blood Warden.
Which part of that was me being a bully or a troll?
Trying to help someone when gates are open is (by definition) bullying and trolling. Value your own survival! Greens and yellows mostly do.
