The fact you are dedicating half your build to a situation where you have already lost the game is why you are getting trolled and bullied, just FYI.

If you don't reach the endgame (because of a 4K or 3K+ hatch), then by definition you didn't need the two perk slots anyway. If you do reach endgame, those two perks can turn around the game. I've had very, very few intermediate situations where I thought "oh, they never would have reached the endgame if I had picked sloppy instead of BW". If I am at 0 or 1 when gens blow, its because the team was far far better than me- but BW/NOED gives you a very good chance at a 2K, and maybe even a 3K or 4K if they are arrogant and stupid enough.

  • Nurse's calling isn't necessary if you are using the 12m aura-reading add-on plus a windstorm (with that combo, you are slingshotting around the map anyway). I play that combo every game if I can.

If you are running that, my faves are:

    1. BBQ/Blood Warden/NOED/Devour Hope: This is a streaky build, and actually works better against purple/red than green. I had 4 or 5 games last night with one person on hook, all gens done, and the gates 99ed, but since the reds wanted to troll they got 4Ked by NOED/Blood Warden. Really really cautious teams will play around blood warden, but it must not be ran enough because most don't bother. There is no other perk in the game that will turn a 0-1k into a 2-4k more consistently than blood warden.
    2. BBQ/Corrupt Intervention/Dragon's Grip/NOED: CI for the slowdown, and dragon grip for invisibly camping gens that you know they'll come back to.
  • I've had great success maining wraith up until mid-purple ranks, and have the following pointers.

As others have said, he is the worst killer in the game without add-ons. But if you P3 him and have your pick of add-ons, there are a few great builds:

    • Green/purple windstorm + purple all-seeing (see all survivor auras within 12m when stealthed)- this is my personal favorite. You will never, ever have problems finding anyone or losing anyone in a chase (note that this is not the same thing as being GOOD in a chase). You'll be the only killer in the game that WANTS Yamaoka to pop up- you can get so many free hits on survivors hiding in the pitch blackness behind rocks. You can win nearly every jungle gym guessing game- just re-cloak in the middle of the jungle gym, and wait for them to come too close to you.
    • Green/purple windstorm + purple pallet smasher- this is a pallet eating build. Re-cloak anytime someone drops a pallet, and destroy it near instantly. Combine with bamboozle, and you don't need enduring + spirit fury to be semi-decent in a chase (three perk slots left open).

I personally don't get a lot of utility out of the distorted clapper (survivors usually run if they hear the bell no matter what), but at a lower learning level it is useful.

Next, don't commit to a chase for the first hit (if spine chill tips them off 30m away and they start running). Get very, very close to someone who isn't 4m from a pallet or vault, and you should be able to land the first hit. As others have said, start right on top of them if you can.

For getting the second hit, you should be cloaking and de-cloaking CONSTANTLY in a chase (zoning, blocking vaults, etc.). You can get that first hit, and still be back in front of 5 seconds latter. The idea is that you are constantly right on top of them, and one wrong move means you get the hit. This doesn't work against great loopers (Wraith gets annihilated by great loopers), but you will absolutely destroy the "Hold W" crowd if they aren't also strong loopers (having Bamboozle really helps).

As to perks, I usually run BBQ, Devour Hope, bamboozle and corrupt intervention. Wraith can get great utility out of DH, and protect the totem better than almost anyone else in the game. Even 1-2 free hits at 3 tokens is usually enough to turn the game around (since everyone else will be frantically searching for the token at that time).

  • Unfortunately, that's probably right. But I do wonder if it could possibly work if the killer (while disguised) gained the benefit of the disguised survivor's perks (where applicable). In other words, disguising as a survivor with bond gave 36m survivor aura reading to the killer- some neat possibilities there.

  • The purple add-on that lets you see all auras within 12m (while cloaked) is godly. You can do drive-by patrols of generators in buildings, win all jungle gym hiding games, and absolutely stomp people on Yamaoka or the indoor maps. Wraith with this add-on is the single best counter to a stealth/immersion group in the entire game. At P3 and with BBQ and black wards, I can keep myself supplied with it for 90% of games. There really is no better combo than purple wind-storm and this purple add-on.

  • I would recline on my back, and wave all four limbs in the air while wailing in the manner of a very small child.

Afterward, I would go on the internet and write a 5,000 word essay about how women starring in superhero movies is bad.

That's pretty much the formula for any killer if they don't immediately focus on gens. One player out of the game snowballs hard.

Yes, but Bubba is the only one who is guaranteed to keep the first victim on the hook. Nobody else can do that if there is coordinated hook diving by 2-3 survivors.

  • Play wraith with the add-on that lets you see all auras within 12m when cloaked. Stealth and immersion is impossible. This is the one build where (as a killer) you WANT to get the yamaoka estate.

It says that in the description.... Dude... Make sure you read the description and test perks in kyf so u don't have that vital mistake happen again

Technically it doesn't say that, it just says "performing a vaulting action causes..."- the sentence has no subject. I always thought that meant a survivor.

  • We have a ghost already, so how about an H.G. Wells-ish steampunk Victorian inventor? On his back is the intangibility contraption- brass, beakers with different colored chemicals, whirring gears, etc.

  • The God-tier add-ons are purple windstorm and the purple add-on that allows you to see all auras within 12m when stealthed. The latter essentially eliminates the ability for anyone to be stealthy or lose you at a jungle gym. Purple windstorm means you can hit, stealth, get in front of the surv, and un-stealth (in much less time than it would take to similar chase un-stealthed).

If you are P3 and curate your black ward, purple windstorm and purple aura-seeing add-ons corrrectly, with BBQ you will be able to run both purples almost every single match (maybe occasionally using the green windstorm or purple re-appearing add-ons if there is a bad run of bloodwebs).

  • Er, the point was that as a killer you get the benefit of the perk without equipping it. That's a tier occupied by only DS currently.

Honestly I would suggest picking a different Killer. Wraith has good first hit potential, but his power doesnt help much in actual chases against good survivors. A better choice would be Billy if you don't have any DLC Killers. You're gonna want Killers with good mobility for the genrush meta.

A great idea, but playing an invisible killer has crippled all of my other DBD killer skills. I literally can't ever find anyone with a non-stealth killer, if I try a 32m killer sometimes I only see 1-2 survivors the entire game until the gates open. Once you've experienced invisibility, its hard to let it go...

Run Corrupt Intervention, your early game will be FAR easier.

I do that, actually- I started running recently, and was surprised by how much it helps (except for ultra-focused SWFs, everyone isn't instantly on a gen). Now its mandatory.

But since all of matches are people ranging from ranks 1-6 (even though I hover around rank 11-12), I still need to do everything else I mentioned. Like I said, I'm not a good killer.

  • An M1, 110% ghost with the following abilities:

    (1) Can phase through any solid objects on a cooldown and immediately attack (i.e., no distance gaining like nurse, but could just walk back and forth through the shack wall/pallets/etc. at will, say for 5 seconds at base with a 15 second cooldown).

    (2) Locker teleportation on a longer cooldown (for instance 45 seconds at base).

  • I don't know if it is killer or survivor-sided objectively, but as a killer it is one of my most successful maps. There doesn't seem to be enough pallets, or at least in my games survivors can't seem to find them easily- lots of dead space without any cover except trees and rocks.

  • ?? Sorry for not being clear enough in the first post, I AM an aura-reading wraith. I don't plan to stop either, I was just observing that my other killer skills have really suffered.

  • I've tried that, but (unless you are on a couple of the smaller maps) I feel like gens are popping as I slowly lumber across the map. Not uncloaking right in their face (and uncloaking from the "open" direct so they have to go sideways instead of vertically away from you) usually makes them hesitate for a split second and generally seems to work almost as well as the silent bell.

  • Main post eaten again, here is the idea: "If you stand perfectly still you become invisible for 3 seconds.  Any movement will immediately end the effect.  This perk causes you to become Exhausted for 60/50/40 seconds".

  • EDIT: Don't understand why every post I make is eaten, but to try again:

    (1) Only one totem can be picked up at a time, and while held the killer cannot pick up survivors or attack (or alternatively, can attack but the effect of the totem is deactivated). You could put a timer on picking this up (for example, it takes 10 seconds).

    (2) The killer can put down anywhere that is reachable by a survivor. You could experiment with other restrictions as well (can only re-position a specific totem once, etc.).

Thoughts? This would solve the problem of survivors memorizing totem spots.

  • EDIT:  Lost the entire post somehow.  Anyway, idea is give each character a one-time "swap" at the cost of 15 or 20 seconds of being stationary and loud (or in the killer's case, maybe let survivors see the aura).  Will allow "mind games" and use of situational perks as you see what kind of player your opponent is.
