So people can take a break from the game without fear of missing on the rift, you may think its bad but it helps preventing burnout.

Could just make the rifts longer duration. Personally I'd get less burned out if I could pace myself on archives instead of grind during its limited duration.

A free medkit for everyone on the team using only one perk that covers 1/4 the map (or 1/2 the map if it's a 2 story place like The Game) that directly counters multiple killers (Legion and Oni specifically) and directly counters the ability for the killer to spread pressure (wonder why tunneling has become so damn prevalent) and the only counter a killer has to it is to try to stumble upon it at some point so they can kick it and make it brea...oh, make it disappear for a mild inconvenience to the survivors as they just go back to it or find a different totem to bless again.

Yeah, it's a mystery why killers think it's OP. Guess we'll never know...

I'd say it actually benefits Legion. Legion is great at injuring people and now survivors will actually waste time healing with him which is less time spent on generators.

  • People don't run them because they are information perks. I'd also argue these are great perks for SWF so you can make call outs to the team and know exactly where everyone is at.

Elden Ring looks good I guess? Totally different genre though. Looks to me like Neverwinter with better graphics basically. I have basically no interest in it. ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ

Exactly its a totally different genre. Not like its going to replace DBD for them because its a completely different experience. Meanwhile if it was a game that played like DBD but was much more enjoyable that'd be another story...

  • As a killer I used to use NOED on all my builds

    Why you ask?

Because I didn't have the time or energy to grind out unlocking things like Ruin for my bloodweb. NOED is one good perk every baby killer can get without grinding like crazy. Last thing we need to do is scare off the baby killers.

The question is who will leave FOREVER, with no going back.

While I don't see them immediately quitting forever given a lot of their viewers are subscribed for their DBD content. However if they post Elden Ring content and those videos get far more viewers and subscribers that's another story. Streamers aren't like players in that they got to also earn a living. Streamers like SpaceCoconut were only able to forever quit DBD because most of his audience never really liked DBD to begin with and was looking for something new like SpaceCoconut himself.

  • Blight is kind of like Nurse in my opinion. Hard to master but really powerful if you do. Still I don't think we need to be nerfing killers while powerful boons like circle of healing exist.

    Edit:typo

  • They'd probably leave regardless, Elden Ring has so much hype.

  • The amount of iridescent shards isn't even enough to buy a purple item as they cost 7,000 iridescent shards. The honestly should have gave away a cannibal outfit to compensate but I guess something is better than nothing.

I understand a lot of people are salty over his nerf and I wasn't here for it so I wouldn't know. All I know is what we got and I take what's there and make do.

Well the main thing people were upset about was his terror radius nerf and your build helps solve that with plaything. I'd probably run corrupt intervention over NOED in your build as it helps a lot with early game. That or since you have all these totems run Rancor instead. Rancor really underrated. Gives location information throughout the game. Gives unlimited exposed that can't be cleansed by one survivor at the end of the game and allows you to kill that survivor.

  • If you can get banned for sparing a survivor a lot of killers would be banned right now including some fog whisperer even potentially.

I dont like Undying at all these days. I'd rather take my chances with just Ruin.

I prefer Lethal Pursuer in place of Undying. So in your case, I'd go Pop.

Yeah lethal persuerer an underrated perk. This is for my Legion though which I use two tracking perks already, tinkerer and discordance. So now wondering what best to combo with that.

It's not just nerfs to power. Addons are a huge part of what keeps playing a killer 'fresh', and when your killer has insanely boring or useless addons it makes them feel stale. Artist, Freddy and PH are the first ones that come to mind - I enjoy 2 of these 3, but I get bored of them fast.

I haven't seen a Cenobite since their addons were gutted.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2712035#Comment_2712035

Which is why you need to shake up the meta a bit from time to time. Artist came...close. If she had more interesting/powerful addon options, she could have been fantastic.

Games that constantly shake the meta can be annoying. Since you constantly have to pay money or grind. They should let it happen naturally. Like Thrill of the hunt should have became meta with boon perks. However they nerfed by making it so you can no longer see survivlrs working on totems.

  • Well that's most competitive games for you. People tend to stick with meta killers more because they want to win.

  • Well the reason no one hardly plays him now is he was nerfed to hard without anything to compensate.

  • I am personally not a fan of perks like sole survivor. My goal is to keep my teammates alive. Not let them get sacrificed so my perk can activate but maybe thats just me.

  • Looks like someone is salty ๐Ÿ˜‚

  • We do! It's called We're going to live forever on survivors and BBQ and Chilli on Killers!

  • Well the perk undying largely fixed the spawn issue but survivors complained so it was nerfed and now we are back to square one.

  • Aren't most non meta survivor perks memes as well? Dev's are afraid to change the meta after the backlash they got from undying.

You can tell someone who doesn't understand how DbD works when they claim Nurse has counterplay that Slinger doesn't.

Only bad Nurse's have counterplay, and it's the same with bad Slinger's. Just wiggle a bit and don't fall for that idiotic zoning, and they'll miss most of their shots. Same as playing against a crappy Nurse and using LoS blocks to mess with her prediction blinks that she shouldn't be making because that's just dumb gameplay.

Good Slingers have counter play, its not fun counterplay though. Basically involves stealthing.

You can also pre drop pallets early forcing a good spirit to guess or preventing a good deathslinger from pulling you with his gun.

In my opinion they are both not super OP. Just not fun to go in chases against which is the core of DBD.

  • I recommend running corrupt intervention on slow-medium speed killers. That should fix your issue. I wouldn't say you need all meta perks but having at least one like corrupt definitely helps!

Imagine not figuring out this post is a meme.

Literally all of the perks are reworked version of older ones except for the Hex, which is genuinely worse than Bamboozle and the best maps for totems (Lรฉry's, Midwich and Hawkins) don't even have that many windows and have more pallets over anything.

Given this games community, its impossible to tell what is and isn't a meme these days ๐Ÿ˜‚

  • None of them are OP lol

    1. First one just don't body block, killer is slow while carrying survivor anyway.

    2. Hex, can be broken and waste of a perk.

    3. Do totems are just cleanse Noed, its not that hard to find once the fifth generator pops!

  • @boostedsurvivormain said:

    In my opinion, kills.

I would rather end a game in 3 minutes and get 4 kills than get 8 hooks and everyone escape.

Funny enough I had a game where I double hooked everyone. I wanted to avoid tunneling and be the survivor definition of a good killer. Despite this though they were toxic to me so I went back to kill by any means. Much more satisfaction so I agree!

  • @dezzmont said:

This is a long standing requested mode that would solve a lot of the problems with killer from a logistical standpoint: Killers are less likely to recruit other players, killers are less likely to care about the social aspect of the game and thus cosmetics, killers are more likely to get demoralized, killers lack anyone 'anchoring' them to the game via a playgroup.

There are a few reasons why such an obvious path forward hasn't been done. First, and most obviously, balance issues. You would need to somehow prevent killers from just double teaming every survivor all the time, but if you can't ever cooperate in a chase what is the point of coop? Map size is also an issue, a lot of maps, even the largest, would just give killers too much coverage to lock down gens even in a say... 2v12 scenario. From a technical standpoint its totally possible (as double killer was a bug for quite a while), but there may be legal issues as well. It is fully possible the license holders said 'Hey you can have this character in the game but they may never appear in any way alongside other killers from rival IPs.' And there is the playlist issue: survivors would never Q into an alt mode that put them at a disadvantage, and map offerings 'fizzling' if two killers Q'd would be weird.

Finally, and most cynically, there is the very obvious fact that survivors are the golden boys and girls of DBD. This is just a reality that has broken every asymetric vs game that has a player count imbalance between teams before: One team is more economic to cater too and because of asymetric player counts there isn't that much cross pollination to create a cohesive community, ergo the devs have a pretty large financial incentive to try to cater to survivor desires, and part of the survivor mindset is, frankly, to be jerks who torment a player and enjoy making them feel weak or powerless and alone. Cyberbullying, as ugly as it is to say, is part of DBD's economic model, even if decisions aren't overtly being made to encourage it (and I actually suspect they are to SOME degree. BHVR is at the very least AWARE of this dimension based on their surveys, and its hard to argue the way end game collapse was implemented was not a 'we are doing everything in our power to allow survivors to continue to be toxic jerks while they win the game while doing the bare minimum to make the game function and prevent killers quitting en-mass' play) and it would be much harder to bully a duo killer than solo.

Personally, I think some of this could be fixed just by making a coop specific killer: It is weird for example that Legion or Twins didn't have coop functionality in some way. One could imagine a duo killer, for example, that has one 'active' and one 'passive' player, who can swap who is active and able to do standard M1 stuff while the other scouted and maybe had situational ways to down. But its something the devs just aren't interested in it seems.

Yeah I see your point, a co-op designed killer would be cool though and would help bring people back to the game. Especially since killers now often just recycle other killers powers.

  • Trying playing killer during a different time of day, see if that helps!

  • Is Undying OP, it can be but it can also be absolute trash. Varies map and where your totems spawn.

  • @MasterofSFL said:

The entire point of DS is to help stop tunneling and the game is inherently a 4v1, so "equivalent" perks should not exist. A better, less broken idea would be something like Spectral Shreik, which causes any healthy survivor completing the rescue to scream and show their position for X seconds.

Yeah and this perk would be made to help killer from losing map pressure as that's why killers hate DS. It costs them map pressure ๐Ÿค”

  • @Skullgrind said:

I've only been a killer "main" in DBD for the last year or so. I play all killers but tend to like ones that are not considered "good" like Trapper (my main man). I always play to have fun and hope to make a fun game for the survivors.

The amount of hate and toxic behavior I have seen in this game as killer is huge. Every day I sit down to play DBD I actively have to force myself to play killer. It's not fun. It's stressful and a bad time.

So yah I am not surprised that new players/new killers get a bad taste in their mouth and leave the game.

Yeah and from the hundreds of hours I have played I have learned that your playstyle does little to change their toxic behavior.

So just play how you want. Your a killer after all and what killer asks for advice from his victims. None to my knowledge. ๐Ÿค”

  • Wouldn't that just lead to more dcs though ๐Ÿค”

    stop with the aboutism

if you're doing bad, you will go against bad survivors and most of these survivors do not know how to use these perks efficiently

DH is a joke atm, so its pretty funny that you wanna use it as an argument.

Not true with matchmaking in the current meta. Bad killers go up against good survivors all the time. I have been with red rank survivors in a lobby and gone up against not even green rank killers. Its a lot more common than you think.

Also if DH is a joke why do so many survivors use it? ๐Ÿค”

  • I take it OP has not played that much killer. I recommend OP try it in red ranks and see if they can do well without the meta killer perks, should be quite in

  • I think he is fine the way he is personally. Its a good thing to have some killers with low skill ceiling to get new killer mains out there.

  • Oppression should honestly have no cool down at all given how little regression it gives. Even with no cool down I doubt it'd be meta!

  • I'd definitely recommend Save the best for Last, it cuts chases significantly shorter if you can build stacks and Sloppy butcher as the survivor will have a tougher time getting a heal in the chase plus additional tracking

  • What? Fat shaming and map issues are two different things. What even is this post? ๐Ÿ˜‚

Exposed only works with normal hits I believe, so that's why it doesn't work with Victor. Pretty sure they won't change this because of consistency. But I do believe it might be better that way anyways, being able to one shot down with Victor could be a bit over the top. You could easily go on a rampage with Victor when using NOED during end game.

Now that I think about it, Victor with NOED would probably be completely broken.

Lmao ๐Ÿ˜‚, that's exactly what I wanted to do!

  • She's a poorly designed killer in my opinion and there is no way to balance her since there is no real counterplay survivors can do!

  • @CaulDrohn said:

No need to disallow moris imo, it screws your emblems so you won't get merciless regardless.

It doesn't if you mori after second hook :)

  • Meta perks are fine when compared to the fun alternative of the ebony mori ๐Ÿ˜‚

Also no shame in using a mori as long as its justified. As a killer I did mori a P3 claudette because she was hiding for the majority of the game and figured she had decisive which she did. That being said I try to avoid the mori if I can since I know how unfun they are to play against.

  • I mean if the gates are spread out on a large map thats surprisingly effective so I don't blame you.

  • I'd honestly be happy if badham got a complete rework or deleted altogether.

  • Freddy is a great beginner killer which sucks since he's DLC! That being said I am curious to what kind of nerf they'll give him. Hopefully he'll still be viable!

  • I know this is a little off topic but Charlotte and Victor are fine as is if not straight OP for two reasons.

    1. Facecamping with Victor

    2. Injuring everyone and snowballing with Victor

You do either of these and you'll be quite deadly although its not fun at all to play against.

  • @Slendy4321 said:

I don't mind him actually I think they need to give him a bigger TR so they can't pair it with M&A and basically have no TR

If his Terror Radius was bigger he would be Clown tier. The only exception would be if they increased his movement speed to 4.6 m/s to compensate for it since a lot of his hits are caused by the art of suprise.

  • One of my favorite killers to be honest since he can get even the best of survivors down in chase

  • If Devs nerf Spirit more killer players will quit this game and the devs desperately need those for nighttime que times!

  • Yeah the obsession buff is what kills it for me. Why would you wanna run something that helps survivor?

I'd say its trash tier apart from build specific slowdown as its synergy with other slowdown perks can lower survivors morale.
