who else with a game have had a forum? texas? evil dead? halloween?

Alas this is also going to kill a lot of things, discord is an open page of just comments, no threads, no real input, also what about the creative peeps and designs? they said in the next 10 years but I mean if killing this forum? it's going to kill a lot. It is all gonna be a discord can of mushy peas and how does it help or warrant or be managed by DBD peeps? a lot of people, fans, know, people who made and helped this game keep alive and streamers? I mean will it kill the game? we basically are one weird ass delusional family on here and well, taking a rose full of it stem and leaving the thorns, don't be too surprised with faithful dedicated peeps turn elsewhere.
-
Sorry BHVR you did this to yourself, why introduce once more the down vote button? and why also monitor such small mishaps? The discord is a laugh as I have seen, reddit I do like but don't post I seek info there. But I mean why create and cause means for your own demise? Perhaps if sought of ways and looked to the community and wishes etc, better and see what folk want, this isn't a step in the best direction and no doubt going to cause a whole load of ball ache.

But I don't quite know how he intends to capture the game. They used the word 'dread' a lot, which felt a bit… forced.
The Damned was a very good movie, depending on ones taste, but wan and roth haven't always delivered the best of movies, perhaps it is a forced word for a reason, I am also a person on the now full season of From and haven't a clue lol but if I have hopes for it been a fan based movie not an audience box office movie.

Same as me, the people who play 4 man slug matches
Seriously, it's the lamest playstyle a Killer can do imo. Some say it's to speedrun matches but if the survivors are even half decent, even if they lose it will drag on for an eternity
Thankfully if you get downed like 2-3 times in a row you can just abandon but I wish something would be done to mitigate this particular playstyle. Not saying I want full anti-slug mechanics but still; even if the killer is struggling to actually 4 man down everyone, they eventually win due to bleedout timers constantly ticking down.
I had a french streamer, live! tv n all and not been hooked all game, bit left me on the floor while they did a totem and a gen, then cos of their map offering they ditched to the hatch as i died i am like #########, was like yay lol I did that

Between literal cheaters, to the people in this community BHVR is not doing enough to police it. If I have a bad game whether it's on killer my team mate/ opposition when tilted will take their anger outside of the game. The SHEER amount of times that I had to clean my profile of horrendous comments or had my auto mod catch them saying slurs on my stream is crazy. I report the people who do this and nothing is ever done. It's crazy how taking the ######### outside of the game is seen as normal in this community. Between this and the lack of an ability to concede matches when no one's on death hook bhvr isn't doing enough.
Sadly, trying to police the community, the slurts, the hate on stream, you may as well tell the sea to stop been wet. Since there was the inter-google, there has always been the haters, the whiner weiners, the ones who take it too fat, but then is also the good ones etc. It's a needle in a haystack and people will always find a way to get around stuff, best to ignore it, sounds hard, but it is easy enough, to feed the trolls. It's like having mods around 24/7 to search and seek every little thing, word, expression, even the real and vt police dont do so.

The gameplay as survivor is so SO mind numbingly boring despite the gamemode being LITERALLY survivor-sided. Walk around to drop blood off to a tub. Gee, how fun. And with absolutely none of the interesting and creepy blood shrine globules from before.
The gameplay as Killer is extremely obnoxious; you have to try and catch up with Survivors that have literally 4 incredibly fast gens that can be easily knocked out of the game in no-time, forcing you to play as a sweaty meta-sucking mobility or niche killer. Meanwhile, the blood event only gives you the ability to gain extra points by kicking canisters over or hitting survivors holding them. Wowie, how fun and new.You don't have to play the event. I wish they brought some more events back, also in my opinion it is clearly Killer sided to me, it can be a headache at times, so I take small breaks in the event. Also a lot of fun has been sucked from the game, I know some peeps hated older things that happened, but I miss some certain nostalgia of this game. Be nice for some fresh ideas to add to the game, I very much have always liked the sun down/sunset, change of weather during the game, just as I seen how good it can look and be on other games. Maybe instead of the blood gasoline like things, we can drain team mates :D

I would love to be able to turn all voices off. It really takes me out of the game.
Steves scream now is awful, to me I am not feeling Lara's voice either, I liked it just having Ash as the only one who had a voice, was unique, but I agree I wish to be able to mute the voices, half the time (as I don't use subtitles) I have no idea what they are saying due to the start sounds when you are in a match.

Vee is just an example. She represents the "New Feng" in my eyes from a business POV.
Who said I'm speaking for everyone? Also there's nothing stopping them from re-doing the entire dub for a character. Bill's VA is dead but all he does is mumble and stuff. It can't be hard to get new
Sable is a great example. She's the most picked survivor. She simply "existing" reduces pick rates, buy rates, and overall cosmetic output by BHVR for other survivors.
I bet you anything Sable gets full voicing or a new Sable 2.0 releases with full voice lines, and that survivor becomes the #1 picked survivor. Then people, like you, will complain "please BHVR…it's been 370 days since Claudette/Jake skin….."
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4071022#Comment_4071022
I hear this argument a lot. It's a made up excuse or fails to see the alternative - redo the entire dub. Can't get Meg's original VA for whatever reason? Get a new one. It's not rocket science.
oh my christ you sound like every director out there doing a remake! leave stuff alone where it doesn't need to be touched!

The point is old survivors will age like milk left out on a hot strait of hormuz summer afternoon. No one will buy them. Therefore no new skins will be made, or less skins.
Let's not talk about the OG survivors for one second. Let's look at the LICENSED survivors. Suddenly a licensed survivor has less quality than Vee for example. What.
When I bought Geralt (Witcher), it was because he has voice lines and etc. So when I see new licensed stuff, I think "why am I paying real money for a survivor that doesn't even have voice lines?"
I had to slowly blink to your post, first of all milk doesn't age it goes off, wine and some cheeses yeah. You can't speak for everyone that they wont buy they just because they dont have a voice? Also what the heck is the obsession with Vee? Ash is a classic OG King, also no one is asking you to purchase anyone, you do you, people will do them, this is a vast community of different ages, wishes, wants and likes. Me and my other half, go team Jake in his old coat and love heart bottoms and me as my girl Claude in what ever. It boils doin to popularity, Vee, can't say she has much skins like some other characters because they are not popular. A brand spanking new surv doesn't mean everyones going to go fan girl on them and buy them or their cosmetics, I buy what I want with real money and shards of things I like not by who a character is.

Give it some time.
One of these scenarios will pan out, I am not saying which one cause I don't have sales data or play data. Only BHVR does
A) The status quo, people keep buying OG skins. Therefore, my opinion is wrong
B) The status quo changes, people stop buying OG Skins because the new survivors are just so much cooler, and thus BHVR only makes the best skins for them
C) An overhaul occurs - BHVR overhauls the game for Next-Gen (Think PlayStation 6) and every non-licensed character gets new model, new voices, everything. So we're technically both wrong, because this is just a complete graphical, character, art, asset, UX, etc overhaul. They have technically done this before, but in small incremental steps. To say this can't happen is saying you are BHVR themselves
Lastly….ask yourself this. What do you think will happen when/if a Sable 2.0 survivor releases and is fully voiced. Think people will just keep playing Sable? Look what Sable did already, she's the most picked survivor. She had a net-negative effect on play rates on other survivors by simply being created. This isn't opinion, this is math and statistical data now.
M3GAN 2.0 wasn't very good………………………..just saying :) not really sure the point of this thread tbh? if you wanna keep playing Vee and buy new stuff, you go for it dude, and I will keep purchasing goods I like for older characters :)

Your monetization scheme has always been weak, I say that as a "whale". I've probably spent $1000 in League of Legends on skins and while I'm a bit shamed to say so, it was over a period of 10 years and I was happy to support the game.
For DBD? I'd like to give you my money but it's hard. I'll keep this concise though. When you release new survivors who have voice lines, better polish, better modelling, better everything - it begs the question of why would I ever bother getting a skin for the older survivors?
You have to see the dilemma right? Why would I buy some old jank legendary killer/survivor skin when the MiNa exists? A concrete example is blight. I could just buy the Resident Evil Birkin skin and get new voice lines or spend almost the same on an ascendant one with no new voices.
Why would I buy skins for my old mains (Yui, Zarina, Mikaela, Claudette) when new survivors like Vee and Tae have voicelines and way better polish?
I'd love to buy the Saga Anderson skin but it has no voices and it sucks.
I know some fellow DBD'ers will say "But I adore character X,Y,Z and that's good enough for me" - Ok that's great but I am talking about my own experiences and as a paying customer.
Sorry I disagree with this, remember these are the OG characters that began this game, before voice etc was even approved as it seems to be a law now that characters created have to have voice lines etc and I get that. Claude is my OG girl and after many many years, money spent i still spend money on her, why? because she is an OG, she is my girl, would I want now some other voice? oh heck no. Would I want feng to not sound like a squeaky balloon animal or Jakes whines and cries that make me chuckle? No, it's what makes them unique, it makes them the character, it's your choice what you do with your money or shards but hell it's still worth it. BHVR obvs think they are still worth it as they keep creating and making clothes etc for them, I get more annoyed with the constant voices now apart from Ash as he is a Sceam King to me. You keep saying polished, also when the originals came out, this wasn't a huge game then, resources and money and time, people working on this game wouldn't of been as big as it is now. So, no………………………………………………………………………………………keep buying stuff for polished, Vee peeps, your choice, no one is asking you to "waste" or spend money on older characters, but we need to leave what doesn't need to be changed, alone.

I have mixed feelings about this, but we don't know what people will do with the info yet. I'd guess the average player won't even be looking at it. I'll probably be reviewing it when I'm on hook or before unhooking someone.
People want more info for solo. Well, here it is. When I'm spectating, I tell my friends what perks the randoms have. The info can be very useful. Knowing if someone has Deliverance or Adrenaline is big.
yes but even knowing that? You get players that well, are twats…..even if you know what can you remember what team mate does and so? so its like trying to remember all 12 perks and who has what and who is going to do stuff while a skill check, event and a chase is a happening…..

Yes it will, because if I bring perks that a player doesn't like, they can sandbag me and/or leave me to die on hook. The presence of that info DOES hurt me, even if I don't look at them.
Maybe the Killer now should know all perks of the survivors……..
-
@zonkednb said:
Teammates perks is fine tbh. Useful narrowing of SWF/Solo gap.
I'm a bit less certain about the killer visibility, however. Yes, sometimes it'd be nice to know that I'm not bringing a full healing build into Legion, but my bigger concern is killers getting out-perked.But again how the heck are you going to keep track of EVERYONES perks and their duties and roles while trying to do gens and live and not be chased???
-
@cogsturning said:
Tbf, people have been asking to see teammate perks for awhile. BHVR is responding to requests. The problem will be how people utilize the info. Will they correctly recognize that they shouldn't unhook someone on two hooks against a tunneling killer if a teammate has StB or Babysitter? Will they grief someone immediately for meme or rat perks? Will newer or lower-skill players be able to use the info at all?
But if you dont like it, don't look at them. The presence of the info won't hurt you.
really? so while trying to do gens, not be chased by the killer, trying to do an event they are gonna try to keep track on every other team mate perk? really? lol……no……just no……it isn't a game where we need such…….and apparantly there is no option, I havent seen anyone asking for this personally………but hey, why not have alerts instead? like someone with a particular perk that can unhook dodge, flah light, why not it be lile on screen like a this persons perk has activated.

No…………….just…………….no. Pennywise HAS TO BE THE OG, Tim Curry. Bill who portrayed this Penny wish was goofy, sounded like shaggy and was just so comical, so just no……….IT was a series, not a film, even welcome to derry was a huge flop and was just so comical, was no suspense, no pure horror, no nothing. Yay Bill can make his eyes go left and south but eh, his voice is awful, no just no.
-
@ShanoaLegendaryPlz said:
Ill admit Tim gave the original concept its own life. Like he was this creepy man in the sewers dressed as a clown but hinted that he was allot more then just a man. Which made him more creepy and intimidating, even more realistic. He didnt need jumpscares or loud noises or going crosseyed he was just somebody you didnt feel like messing with.
Meanwhile Bills felt more like an alien from the start, pretending to be a human clown. And their idea of improving from the original was jumpscares, loud noises, janky movements, going crosseyed, 10x more teeth and just acting more like a creature that speaks english than someone trying to blend in and lure people to their deaths.
I enjoyed both but most of the new movies are spent comparing it to the original. I remember watching the original on vhs several times, only to watch through the credits for once and discover there was a whole 2nd part movie on the same tape! Lol my mind was blown.
I think as a young one, watching so was different, if I or a friend out when raining or near drains or even hearing a weird sound in out sink, we was freaked out. Bill brought humour and comedy to it, alien or not the characters was more believeable in the old IT. Also IT part 2 had a not so needed barbaric scene at the beginning, not needed, also welcome to derry was a laugh and stopped watching it.

I own about 30 books on Tibetan culture, religion, and history. One of them is a collection of folkltales called The Prince and the Zombie. Voodoo zombies I know less about, but I don't need Wikipedia's help with Tibet.
I'm talking about the RE games. Those garbage movies might as well not exists to me.
Like i said, they're not zombies, but you're definition is still too restrictive.
Why is it? do You feel and think twilight vampires are so? things are based on so I dont care about the books you read etc, but your answr was wiki based. So why is it too restrictive please tell me? cannot they be called other things? defintions are there is why movies based on so but calling this a zombie movie is by no means and well, no.

Though you are right, they aren't zombies (it's just easier to call them such), what you're defining is the George Romero zombie, and the concept did not begin or end with him. The modern concept comes from folk traditions adapted to fiction. People think voodoo when they think zombie origins but the Tibetan ro-lang is where much of zombie fiction gets its ideas. A corpse possessed by a demon will infect others through touch. A second type, brought about through necromancy, has a particular weak spot, which varies by type. Most people consider the infected humans of Resident Evil to be zombies yet they aren't undead. Re-animator features corpses reanimated through scientific means and that can be fully cognizant. Even Frankenstain's creation is a sort of zombie. If the rules are slow, eat brains, and undead, that's basically nothing. That doesn't even fit the traditional zombie.
Incidentally, Romero was heavily inspired by Richard Matheson's post apocalyptic I Am Legend, which is about vampirism as a virus, so concepts kinda blend and change over time. Romero rules are limited in their application. The concept has gone well beyond him.
I undersand what you are saying, to the point Wiki came into play of your answer. Resident evil the film, everyone in the movie with the Hive was dead, fair point and set out to enjoy blood and human flesh. Other films yes they use science but on a corpse, a dead being, again no one was dead with the rage virus.

I feel like this is splitting hairs a bit. Sure, they lack a lot of the classic zombie hallmarks, but they still pretty clearly are based in that genre and fit the formula for infected humans that begin animalisticaly attacking each other.
The director himself doesn't consider 28 Days a Zombie movie, so you are correct and I wanna make that clear, but scrolling down the Wikipedia article, every single outside reception piece calls it a zombie movie and even how it caused a resurgence in the genre. I don't think the original post is out of line for calling one, y'know?
Nope. No one will convince me other wise, the reason they lack classic zombie hallmarks, is because they are clearly not zombies no matter how one looks at it. Sure yes they both fit into the formula that they are infected, but it's very clearthey are not the same, I would put this in the Apocolyptic genre. Also thr infected attack due to the rage, zombies well attack for the guts, brains and are clearly brain dead. Also you have to put into account on 28 years later, they adapted, the rage virus adapted, said cant be done for zombies who are……..dead. It's like saying vampires are wherewolves as they are affected to silver in some horror movies such as Blade and Dracula untold and I could delve into Twilight a little. Sorry but no I am not and will not be convinced, splitting of hairs aside, it irks me when people just throw that movie with it's a zombie movie when it isn't.

One of the greatest zombie movies from the 2000's it would be sick to see Jim in the game its sad it would only be him cause idk how a Rage Virus Infected would work as a killer.
The 28 days/weeks/years is NOT a zombie movie. Depends which one you would wish to see in the game as 28 years later sucked big time. It is a rage virus, they vomit up blood, get infected and go on a rage destructive path, they do not go for brains, eat people, move slow and do not go for brains, those in 28 days etc later are NOT corpses etc. Same as world war Z, again they are NOT zombies.
