  • You dont actually know what a skinwalker is…do you?

  • Im sorry but those are some of the worst balance recommendations I have ever seen. You basically want them to butcher the character and make him almost useless when he’s not even that strong of a killer.

  • Yeah, survivor players are getting a bit too strong in this meta. They really need a nerf soon

  • He’s one of the easiest killers to play on console. You’re not going to get instantly good with any killer with only 3 matches played. I suggest playing some bot matches and watching guides on youtube to get better at him. Definitely do not refund him.

  • @MoZo said:

They said in the FAQ that killer adjustments can still be made even without the license. But I doubt they could or would do a rework without the license. Him and plague got their tweaks pushed back so I guess by the time plague gets changes we should see pinhead there too.

Ive seen that answer, I was just wondering where it was at because they said it would arrive in November but now its April and nowhere to be seen.

  • Its a cool idea but we already have a pirate killer in DbD. The Houndmaster is basically a pirate killer.

  • @Tyler3 said:

I'm sure there is already a well established reason for this, but I can't help but wonder why Lara Croft doesn't just build a makeshift weapon from some sticks, climb up a tree, then pounce down on an unsuspecting Legion walking by. Or why Ada and Leon don't use all of their knife defense skills against Michael.

    Why don't the survivors fight?

We know they can, somewhat. They can throw a pallet on the killer, blind them with a flashlight, or burst out of a locker to stun them. But we know they can be more aggressive than that.

I've heard before that if a survivor attempts to build a makeshift weapon, the entity will simply make it disappear. This is not true. Decisive Strike exists. So do flashbangs, blast mines and chemical traps. Why does The Entity allow survivors to get their hands on these weapons?

Another thing, when a survivor uses DS, why don't they just go for the head? It's already strange that The Entity allows the survivor to do this, as it seems to contradict the rules of the Trials, but even stranger that the survivor doing the DS doesn't go for the head or neck and instead the shoulder.

Why are survivors allowed to craft aforementioned flashbangs, blast mines and chem traps? All of these weapons visibly hurt the killer, especially blast mines, which stun them for a good 5 seconds.

My point is, if survivors are allowed to stab the killer with DS, why don't they all sharpen some sticks and attack the killer together? Survivors like Lara are more than capable of doing this.

Even with no weapons, some survivors, like Ada, are masters of martial arts and could easily beat any opponent that comes their way, especially killers without supernatural abilities, like Legion or Trapper.

In short, why don't the survivors, especially the more capable ones, fight back, as there's seemingly no reason why they shouldn't, or couldn't.

The devs explained that trying to fight back against the killers in the Entitys realm is like one of those bad dreams where you get into a fight with someone and every attack you throw at them is really slow and doesnt do any harm towards them.

  • The “Intolerable Hunger” quote is apparently a foreshadowing to a Tokyo Ghoul chapter thats coming out soon. In the anime, the main character becomes a ghoul and cannot eat normal food and had to eat human flesh for now on. He refused to eat humans which made him starving and going insane for the first few episodes.

I can't imagine them socializing with each other when it comes to killers like Myers, who is just a walking killing machine we never saw speak in the movies as an adult as far as I'm concerned. And as for a Killer like the Legion, they literally have themselves as a group of four people so I don't know if all four seek communication with others besides themselves, because considering their lore, I heavily doubt that after the trials the four of them just sit there in silence not saying a word to each other, that's just stupid imo. but for killers like Demogorgon or the Unknown, i can understand they probably communicate with no one seeing as Demo can't talk at all unless you count screeching sounds as legible language and Unknown is just Unknown. Like do they get food and drinks? do they just stay where they stay? can someone please fill me in, i am very curious

According to the devs, they dont really do much except maintain the hooks, prepare their weapons and equipment, and wait until the next trial starts.

They dont sleep, eat, or interact with other killers. They just prepare for the next trial over…and over…and over…and over again…basically forever.

Is it just me or is it really easy to play as killer? I can hit survivors from a very far distance and even when they 360 me I just swing and I am still able to hit them. My wifi and ping is very strong so that cant be the reason. I also noticed that slugging a 4k is extremely easy and seems to be a quick win when playing as killer.

Its extremely hard to get 2 kills for me at rank 1. Try playing killer at rank 1-4 instead of rank 10 lol

  • @bluesidesoul said:

This new system where the killer can automatically kill the last survivor has made it where every match ends with slugging while the killers bm you on the ground. Either add basekit unbreakable when there are two survivors left or remove entirely. It's ######### insane how many killers slug as if their whole family will die if they don't get the last pity mori. I love it, don't you guys!

You realize that slugging for the 4k was extremely common even before the finisher mori was introduced right? Fixing it is not going to automatically fix slugging lol.

If this really bothers you that much then just run Unbreakable…

  • Dont ever cook again

  • I wish this was a thing soon

I saw a theory on YouTube and it's the best explanation of what the Unknown is so far. According to it, the Unknown was created by the Entity worshippers — literally a tulpa fueled by the fear of the unknown and feeding on theories. This is why thinking about Unknown can summon it to the person's location — it comes into existence as soon as the person learns of it and starts digging. So, it is an alien. And a serial killer. And an eldritch power. And a former human mangled by horrible experience. All at once. I don't remember exactly what (according to the theory) the cultists wanted to achieve by creating the Unknown, but it was either to harness the Entity's power and experiment with it or to make the Entity a gift it would like.

Thats pretty much Dredges lore, he was created using the dark thoughts of people who lived in that town. I dont think this applies to the Unknown, I genuinely do think he’s some sort of alien or eldritch being thats been on Earth for centuries.

  • Im so glad none of you guys are devs lmfao what a god awful idea….

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/416769/mage-hand-should-break-pallets

No it should not. It allows for an interesting gameplay loop to block it off if they greed it or lift it up instead when they just drop it. I find this way better than just another power to destroy pallets.

I fail to see whats “interesting” about a power that’s basically useless.
Explain to me why do you prefer a power that barely works over a power that actually works?

  • Killers stay in the realms (the playable maps) that they belong to.

They dont actually do anything interesting except prepare their equipment, sharpen or fix up their weapons, maintain the hooks, and wait until the next trial starts.
They dont need to eat, sleep, or drink since they’re basically immortal now.

  • @justadreampallet said:

1: I don’t remember the unknown having cults,

2: unknown doesn’t cause Instand madness but reaserching him makes him attack is as close to it being madness

“There were many theories as to The Unknown’s origin. Some said it was a malevolent entity conjured long ago by an ancient cult.”

Several of Unknowns add ons and cosmetics say that people can go completely insane just by looking at him.

  • Its gonna be Frank West from Deadrising mark my words!

BHVR recently shown a player stat that had something to do with zombies which has everyone thinking that was a hint for a upcoming TWD licensed survivor paragraph…I believe that they used that stat to fool people into thinking its a TWD paragraph when its actually just a Deadrising chapter and they’re trying to make it a unexpected surprise.

Why do I think this? Because they used a stat to show off how many of Nemesis zombies were killed since his release which may be a reference to the Deadrising player stat that shows you how many zombies you’ve killed during the entire playthrough.

Also, both Resident Evil and Deadrising are owned by Capcom, maybe they used that Nemesis zombie player stat to tease another big capcom icon who’s coming into the game.

  • @CountOfTheFog said:

If you didn't report them in game, it's too late

I reported them in game but I doubt that’ll do anything. I was saying like should I report this player to Xbox? I messaged them and they said they were “glitched out” but I doubt that.

  • @Wibwob said:

    Yes and no.

Absolutely yes to more monster killers. Bugs, aliens, werewolves, things like Xeno or Demo. I'd love to see them.

But no more body horror monsters. The three monsters original to DbD (Dredge, Singularity, Unknown) are all "creatures made with twisted human flesh", each with different spins. They're all pretty cool but that's enough of those for now. I want to see straight up beasts!

I agree but I would like to see The Thing eventually come into the game.

  • @MaTtRoSiTy said:

I don't mind at all so long as they have NO HINDERED OR HASTE effects and they are NOT boring anti-loop killers like Knight.

Id imagine that a spider killer would have some sort of web ability that traps or slows down survivors lol a hindered or haste ability is a must for a insect like monster.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/410759/more-monster-killers

I GREW UP WITH WAR OF THE MONSTERS

YOU JUST HIT ME WITH A NOLSTAGA BOMB

Same here dude lol, I bought the game on Playstation a few years back so I could play with my little nephew. Who’s your favorite monster? Mine was Preytor, Congar, and Raptros

  • @Yharwick said:

I had an idea for a killer that started as a mutant caterpillar and evolved into a moth man as the trial went on that was an extreme version of a power up killer like Myers and Oni but that's probably too involved considering the average length of a game.

Sounds really cool tbh, I feel like that shouldve been Xenomorphs power instead of what we got now.

  • flashlights and flashbangs appearing in almost every game annoys the hell out of me but other than that, the game is fine.

  • I think you havent played enough games with it because its definitely not OP like you say it is lol especially with the new anti 3 gen changes, you’re just going to get yourself blocked from kicking gens faster with surge and the gen regression isnt all that great.

  • He’s really fun to play imo, he’s not strong but he isnt weak either. Im definitely going to start maining him for now on lol.

  • I just got done playing him for like 8 matches straight

  • A new killer and new survivors that’ll eventually make their way into Dead by Daylight

  • Ive beaten him countless times as survivor. He always gets gen rushed and I always make a sharp turn as soon as he dashes towards me

  • I think he’s pretty fun to play as and against. Reading some of the nerf suggestions on here seem to be a bit extreme and would ruin him imo. I think his footfalls need to be a lot brighter or noticable during loops so we could know where he is and where he’s going. His dashing turn rate could use a slight tweak. His dashing attack should be like Hillbillys chainsaw sprint where as soon as you break into a sprint you have a crazy turn rate but after a split second your turn rate is slowed down and you can barely move around during the dash. This might make him a bit more fair to play against for survivors having trouble against his dash ability. You can even rework some of his add ons that increase his turn rate sort of like Hillbilly.

  • Put up a few biopods in a high place where you know survivors will mostly run through and use the rest during chase.

  • Bye! See you in 2 months!

  • @Ghoste said:

For reference, Xbox bought Arkane and then they released Redfall lol. Market consolidation is generally bad for the consumer.

Redfall was in development years before Microsoft acquired them. They were forced to make a multiplayer game that would make Zenimax a lot of money back when the entire company was in financial troubles.

  • @HoodedWildKard said:

Probably just as well they didn't. When big companies like microsoft get their claws into smaller companies they tend to ruin games.

Look at what happened to halo. The original 3 games were amazing. Soon as microsoft got a hold of it the last 3 games have been absolute dog #########.

I find smaller companies tend to make better games. They care more about making a good game versus just churning out prepackaged crap for quick turn arounds. I'd hate to see a big company get any influence over dbd.

People say that about Microsoft all the time but dont realize that Microsoft doesnt even touch their studios because they have a “hands off” approach when they make games. They let them do whatever they want with their games.

If it does happen... would BHVR get new coders, writers, testers... so on and so forth

Also... we might get console optimizations for the first time

But really if: Sony, Xbox, Nintendo and Steam all had a hand in buying out BHVR... what would happen

I dunno about the others but Xbox buying BHVR just might be the best thing for the company. They wouldnt have to worry about losing another license due to financial problems anymore since Microsoft is a trillion dollar company and they would actually have the money to improve the game massively.

Sony istn event that bad with exclusives anymore. Almost everything comes to PC now.

    Rarely

  • @RaSavage42 said:

But then what about Steam, Sony and Epic

We would lose a lot more then we would gain if that were to happen

They wouldnt remove a game thats already published on those platforms. They’re not as bad as Sony when it comes to exclusives. They’ll most likely just make certain cosmetics exclusive to xbox and gamepass

  • @JustAShadow said:

After the nerf of EMPs ubiquity, I think the only thing Singularity needs to be perfect is to have the 5% haste after teleporting from the iri addon(Soma Family Photo) basekit.

He honestly just needs a addon rework and his bipod placing mechanic needs a bit of touching up because most of the time it doesnt work properly.

  • @youshisu said:

Cmon more than one year has passed, and you did nothing to fix this

If people want to leave a match then let them and dont punish them for it or else they’ll be AFK the entire match or worse they’ll sabotage the entire game by throwing down all the pallets, refusing to do gens, or memeing around with the killer.

  • @Raz_cr0w said:

Every time no matter who I play if it's not nurse or blight 2 or 3 gens get done by the time I down and hook the first or second survivor... I hate having to tunnel and I try my best to avoid it but there's little else I can do at that point. I mean yea I get good matches every once in a while but even then they get gens done before I even get there to try and defend it. I'm not saying gen speeds are a problem but something's going on with it right now and it's really stressful to play killer atm, at least for me

Yes, they honestly need to make corrupt intervention basekit for killers.

Ah your okay with the killer meta destroyed when gens fly already even with it, but you're not ok with it taking longer for you to heal and not more than once without a team mate.

Right my bad buddy. Let's revert your needs, and just destroy killers only fully effective gen defense while keeping survivor (the power role) unchanged.

Not one person in existence would disagree gens don't fly in this game, yet you want the survivors unnerfed but killers left destroyed.

Holy hell what am I seeing. Deluded. Your survivor role is being nerfed. Accept it, they may make it less harsh of the nerf but the nerf will go through, you won't be healing more than once without a team mate. Period.

No more unlimited heal cowboys trolling survivor.

You need to chill out lmfao, im a killer main dude and not some salty survivor main. Idk where you got that idea of me being a survivor main but all im saying that the healing changes are a bit overkill and probably need to be adjusted. Relax and stop making yourself look like a fool.

  • Im okay with everything except the Hillbilly and the healing changes.

The healing changes are a bit much imo and orobably need to be toned down a bit before going live

  • Some other tips that I forgot to mention are

1.) dont bother camping a survivor on a hook or a gen and dont waste a guard on protecting them since you need that guard for chasing survivors away from other gens across the map.

2.) Make sure to “snipe” the survivors from far away so that they dont know your coming. By this i mean dont stand too close to them when summoning a guard because they can see and hear you summoning guards which makes them hide and run away which is something that you dont want them to do yet.

3.) His power is a bit like the Spirit where you cant see where the survivors are at in your summoning power but you can hear them breathing, running, or working on a gen or totem. If they start running away from you summoning a guard then pay attention to the sound of their footsteps, breathing, and the movement of the tall grass.

I wish I was good with this killer. Im just not. I miss most of my blades and when I adjust the controller over extends and keeps missing. Its no wonder Trickster's facecamp because playing without a mouse feels awful.

Im sorry for the salt post. It's just so grinding.

He’s actually really easy to use on console (especially Xbox). I recommend tapping the ranged attack button if they’re far away and hold the ranged attack button if they’re up close. All you need is practice and patience. Good luck 👍

Used to play a fair bit of ghostface before taking a near year long break from the game. Not been doing as well as I used to on him, especially against swf teams.

Just want to know what builds people are running on GF these days. Any tips will also be appreciated

BHVR nerfed his night shroud power. They basically made it easier for survivors to break him out of stealth. I would recommend a anti loop build on him so you can quickly catch up to survivors and down them once you’ve marked them. Try Enduring, Spirit Fury, Bamboozle, and the last could be anything you want. I love running rancor on him just for the mori and insta down.
