Given how long its been and will be though; they should.
If it is going to be a while, it is only right. Could do it with literally any of the updates we had; plenty of chances to....
I'm not saying they shouldn't disable it for now and turn it back on when they release the MMR again. I'm just saying that is their reasoning for it, but I can understand if they want people to get used to it since it'll be that way anyway.

This isn't a recording, I could cherry pick any time in my dbd play time and find a match where a lot of bnps are used, it doesn't mean it's common.
Also you run with a 3rd party program giving you a crosshair so you're literally cheating I would take everything you say with a grain of salt lol.
Don't know if anyone else decided to tell you this, but the devs don't care about crosshairs. They can't prevent people from using them, so they said it isn't anything you could get banned for or is consider cheating, it's just looked down upon.
Someone having a cross hair to know where the center of their screen is gives them far less of an advantage than Survivors who use Comms to tell their friends where the killer is all the way across the map. But that's not considered cheating now is it.

it should but what they put out before didn't do anything it just seemed like random matching with whom ever was at hand and ready. nothing at all. this game will not discern from someone disconnecting and someone that died on hook because they didn't want to face the killer or just wanted out of the match for one reason or the other. it will artifically inflate the win rate and loss rate because of disconnections. there is way too much grey area that is not even being talked about, much less any real information about how it really works so they can claim it's working as intended even through it didn't. I know why they are doing it, they are trying to think it is coming back soon but meh i think they are a very long way from getting code in to do what they really want.
And you say it was there, but even though I played in that time I played many more hours than they said were needed for it to be accurate and I would get red rank survivors with my rank 16 trapper and brown ranked killers to my ranks 8 survivor and the point those brown ranked players barely knew how to play the game. almost every match was that way, how can a rank 16 trapper continually get red ranks only? and a rank 8 be put in a lobby with a killer that still is wet behind the ears? I had a few that were skill comparable but those were far and few between. the amount of people posting about it, talking on stream and my own experience showed it was purely random match making which could invariably put you and a few others in skill comparable groups even though it's not matching anything.
I think you killing a survivor too fast would still not raise your MMR by much if anything since it's already detrimental to just slaughter the whole team on their first hook, so people who suicide on first hook wouldn't really change anything except their own MMR against that killer, which is abusing the MMR system, but at what cost? Cause when you go against that killer but with a low MMR and then stomp them and boost your MMR way back up. The system wouldn't be perfect, but it would be better than what we have now.
Also I didn't have any issue when they said MMR was implemented, it didn't seem like just random matches either. I take breaks from this game a lot so rank reset will send me back to yellow ranks, which I was at rank 17 when they first implemented MMR. I main my Pig, P3 LV 50, And each match I got was mostly filled with red ranks, occasionally one or two other colored ranks. Yet they all seemed competent and put up an actual match. However when I switched to my Legion who I was just first starting to play or even Oni or Hillbilly who I never play, I was getting all sorts of mixed color rankings, and those survivors no matter yellow or red ranking were not very skilled or even close to the ones I was going against on my Pig. But after playing Legion for a bit and getting the hang of them, I was getting better and better survivors, eventually getting those pretty much full red lobbies with competent survivors like I was getting on my Pig. So MMR was working fine for me, and I actually wish it was still implemented because that was the most enjoyable DBD was in awhile.

they could have turned the killer lock off at any of the patches this past week. the reason they won't is because they keep saying they are about to turn MMR back on at a moments notice but honestly I don't think the MMR was there I think they want it there and have ideas but I don't think it will work here nor was there before. also the devs see the survivors as skins so they don't care what you change to, atleast they've encrypted the file that was being used to know who you were playing against.
They could've, yes, but as I said they don't see the point in disabling it just to re-enable it when they finish working on the MMR. So they want to leave it implemented so that people get used to it, cause it's going to be how the game is anyways.
MMR definitely was there, cause when they said it was activated I actually got teams of survivors who gave me a challenge instead of dealing with some potato that can't tell I'm a crouched Pig and not a crouched Survivor until too late.
The MMR system will (or should) give you two different MMR percentages. One for how well you play against a certain killer as survivor, and one for how well you play as that killer. So when you play survivor, it wouldn't matter which survivor you picked, you'd still go against the same skill level pig's, huntresses, Nurses, ECT. And as Killer you'd have a different percentage for each killer you play that reflects your skill level with said killer. Hope that helps you understand why it would, or how it would (more so should if they do it right) work. This way the killer lock mechanic would work how they want, and survivors switching wouldn't do anything more than it already does.

killers should be able to; given they disabled the matchmaker reasons that it was tied to.
it makes no sense as is tbh; for now anyways.
The reason the killer lock is still in place is because for them to turn it off and on we have to go through an update, while the MMR system can just be turned on and off freely. So they don't see the reason going through the work in disabling it just to re-enable it, and would rather killers get used to it.
I believe survivors should be locked too though, people's reasons they shouldn't is that they're just "skins", but imo they aren't cause you will tend to have one or more survivors with better items, perks, etc than your others. And it doesn't always annoy me but last second switching can, especially with them knowing a key change is coming soon, get very annoying.

So the Mori’s got nerfed today and to be honest I’m happy the Mori’s got nerfed but IMO it’s not good enough. So today I had a match where I got tunneled off twice and then moried it’s a good change but I think it needs one more change so it can be perfectly balanced
It should be so that the killer has to hook all 4 survivors once to be able to mori people so it promotes less tunneling
I agree that you should have to hook everyone once before you can Mori, instead of hooking people twice.
@Boddy604 said:
If you got tunneled twice, then mori'd, they could've just picked you up and killed you on hook.
Mori wasnt the problem there.
No but the problem with Mori's was they'd tunnel and Mori you off first hook. Now instead of fixing the problem they just made it to where that killer just has to tunnel you more to Mori you. They completely forgot that if a killer genuinely wants the survivor dead, via hook or Mori, they'll just tunnel them to death. But if they made the requirement to hook everyone once, then that would force the killer to actually go after every Survivor, ultimately taking more time than just tunneling someone off first and second hook and then getting the option to Mori.

It does tell you that you will start all over, and they even made sure you have to hold the button down so you don't just accidently hit it. You may have just rushed past the screen cause I still have it ask me if I'm sure I want to prestige and I have 3 characters to p3.

Very faulty system then.
Just bought Blight and the first game I got is Survivors who clearly know what they're doing with established perks then when I used my Oni who has a lot of wins prior to me quitting its nothing but baby dwights. So I think I'll consider that they removed it lol
The killer lock is still in place, but the MMR system currently is not. It takes a patch to turn the lock on and off while it doesn't take one to turn the MMR on and off. They are trying to make it better and work on it right now.

Although I'm pretty sure they removed it for more testing or something.
Yes it was for a new MMR system, they disabled it to work on it more and it doesn't require a patch to turn that off and on. The killer lock mechanism requires a patch to turn it off and on and they don't see the point in disabling it just to re-enable it later.

So its too late already to go back on how The Twins cosmetics are done.
I was hoping for a "charlotte body", "victor", "weapon" distribution, but because victor is treated like a power/ability, no skins for him.
So ok, fine, can we then pls just get a sepperate category for skins for abilities for killers it applies to?
Kanabo skins for Oni
Chainsaw skins for Billy
Bottle skins (plus gas colour) for Clown
Hatchet skins for Huntress
etc etc
and obviously Victor skins for The Twins.
I think this is actually a great idea and have always wondered why it was never implemented, most likely cause you'd have to know what all the cosmetics look like to know all to look out for.
Bear traps for Trapper
Bells for Wraith
Chainsaws for Hillbilly
Different colored blinks for Nurse
Different shock effects for Doctor
Hatchets for Huntress
The newer RBT version for Pig
Kanabo's for Oni
Matching outfits for Victor
Matching harpoons for Deathslinger
Different bottles for Clown
Different syringes for Blight
The only ones that couldn't get one are Myers, Ghostface, Demogorgon, Pyramid Head, Freddy, Legion(all their powers wouldn't work with it), Bubba (only uses one chainsaw, but maybe could get different ones), Plague and Hag (theirs are specific visuals or colors we have to look out for already. IE: plagues vomit color and hags trap shape).

Edit 2: can't believe I forgot Blight

One of her add-ons could apply old Ruin skillchecks to her traps, so only Greats give you progress. Maybe a rarer variety could just apply to only active traps and toss in slightly smaller skillcheck zone as well.
You only get skillchecks when searching a Jigsaw Box. My suggestion was more so to prevent competent survivors from getting the trap off in less than 12 seconds since it's already so easy to get it off. Even giving her an add-on that would make the skillchecks like Old Ruin, would make her traps busted since not everyone can consistently hit great skillchecks. It would cause Survivors to almost never get that trap off, and missing the great skillchecks would notify the Pig. My offer is to make the Jigsaw Box skillchecks more like Doctors Overcharge perk. A harder to hit skillcheck, that provides no option to get Great Skillchecks that give you 2 charges(seconds) as opposed to the 1charge(second) you normally get. This would ensure every box has to be searched for a minimum of 12 seconds, and the Add-ons that affect Jigsaw Box skillchecks wouldn't help those competent survivors who could hit every great skillcheck and get out of the trap or search the boxes even faster. Instead if you hit the skillcheck you're fine, if you don't then you lose progress.

Ok so hear me out, im a little confused regarding the community.
See we like to say its 4 vs 1...but it isnt is it? infact this used to be brought up when people were asking for bans (again) because the other player did something they did not like.
Key Features
• Survive Together… Or Not - Survivors can either cooperate with the others or be selfish. Your chance of survival will vary depending on whether you work together as a team or if you go at it alone. Will you be able to outwit the Killer and escape their Killing Ground?
See? its build into the game that you are allowed to be selfish and running around the map dropping every pallet for the heck of it, farming every survivor just cuz, and sitting in a corner doing nothing...its all allowed and like camping/tunneling something completely gamebreaking but unbannable, perfectly within the rules.
So why is DCing a problem with punishment, when by the games own vision: "you are ruining the game for others" is not an argument.
Like someone else said, maybe the entity just wants to punish those that try to escape it's trials via DC.
But in all seriousness, it's cause you're taking a slot that someone else could've taken, who would've stayed in the game. A survivor working with the killer ruins their game, and I'm pretty sure that's a punishable offense. Also most killers I know that see a survivor actively trying to ruin other survivors games, will end up mercilessly killing those people and will camp them to death. You only really should be surviving on your own if you absolutely have to cause it's still very much a 4v1 as a 1v1 is just a death sentence.

1) Yeah, it happening once you rush would be more scary. Though I would love for there to be a way to cancel the dash and keep both the roar spam and making it more jump-scarey.
Also, no problem, recently started playing The Pig, and have been having fun with her (even if I get trounced more often than with my mains).
It didn't post my comment cause it said it needed to be approved so I'll just retype it.
Maybe make the Roar play just a bit before you fully commit, this would let more experienced Pig players still trick you, and cover up the knife unsheathing a bit so they don't know if you committed to the Ambush as easily.
I've played this game for a little over 1k hrs collectively, and almost all of my time has been spent on The Pig. She's a very fun killer, and very strong in the right hands. It's also easier to get survivors to know you're friendly, or to get them to farm with you as The Pig.

Maybe since it's such a short noise make it proc a little before you finish. That way more skilled pig mains can still use it to try and trick you, plus with it being closer to the end it would cover up the knife unsheathing a bit so it would be harder to tell if she committed to the Ambush.
And I only bought DBD cause of the Pig. Always thought DBD was a cool game, but that Saw chapter made me get it instantly back when I had my PC. And I'm not lying when I say The Pig is pretty much all I've played. Xbox and PC put together I have over 1k hours, and 80% of that is The Pig. 10% is Legion. 5% is Playing Survivor, almost solely Tapp, And the other 5% is split up between Plague, Oni, and playing other killers for dailies or tome challenges.
The Pig is a really fun killer, and in the right hands a really strong killer. Sad I see so many put her on the same low ranking as Clown. I also find it much easier to get survivors to know you're friendly or to get them to farm when I play Pig.

1) It is a very small scene (at the very end of this clip), so in terms of actual relevance... eh: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_-x9YSz2Y3o&ab_channel=FoundFlix
2) Oh I know, unless they're active they don't feel scary. When I made suggestions to her add-ons I suggested that Rules Set No.2 make traps activate when you put them on, however that can be very oppressive when coupled with something like Tampered Timer. And if it's base-kit, imagine 5-Boxes and only 2 minutes. There is pressure to get it off, for sure, but too much pressure.
3) I'm not against not seeing the Timer, for Survivors I actually agree they should not see the Timer, only seeing the light (hearing the beeping), it would give a greater sense of urgency with the ambiguity.
4) Yeah.
1) I remember that scene, completely forgot about the roar cause it's only a tiny part. But honestly now knowing that, I would like the roar to be moved to the end of the charge for ambush, and make it sound more like in that scene, that way instead of the noise being just a warning it is more of a jump scare.
2) 12 seconds base time x 5 = 60secs with a minimal of about 20 seconds in between to run to the next box. Yeah they're dead. Just Tampered Timer and 4 jigsaw boxes will more than likely kill someone if they don't get it off in the first 3 boxes. So I could see where there could be an issue, so that's why I said if they get within a certain proximity of a Jigsaw Box it activates. But that could cause them to never activate their trap, and I just feel like 1 gen to activate 1 of your limited traps that isn't even meant to kill someone, isn't much of a trade-off. So maybe if they start working on a gen and if they get within a certain proximity of the boxes it activates. This would prevent the Trapped player from working on gens like the Trap is supposed to do, and it keeps them from getting a trap off that isn't activated.
3) Honestly not seeing my trap timer would make me worry about the Trap more, I don't even feel scared with an active trap on, so I feel like even if they aren't supposed to be lethal they need to do something to make you fear them. I mean you have to put your wrist into a razor blade cuff trap just to get the reverse bear trap off, so maybe even make missing skill checks apply deep wound since you'd cut your wrist. Or even on the correct jigsaw box you have to give blood (cut your wrist) applying the Deep Wound status effect, in return for getting your Trap off. Like the Saw trial where they have to give blood to live or cut off parts of themselves to save their life. There's always a give and take with Jigsaws trials, no one leaves without a scar to remind them not to be ungrateful for the life they have.
Edit: seem to always forget something, wanted to say thanks for taking the time to find the roar in the movies.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
1) The roar is at the very least iconic for the memes and is a reference to the movies. Also, with regards to competent Survivors the change does nothing as they still have the flick of the blade to act as a tell.
2) I agree here. It's annoying that Survivors can passively take it off if it isn't active by hitting the closest box first, then squatting on a gen before checking other boxes. TBH I'd suggest making the Trap activate once a Generator is completed, or if they start to repair a Generator. You could make it an add-on to add a bit of uncertainty to what "the Rules" are. (I'd suggest making "Rules Set No.2" make it so that Traps activate as soon as a Survivor starts to make repairs in addition to what it does already, which would be a minimal change to get data on.)
3) I agree. No Great Skillchecks (Like the Demogorgon's Portals), and I would also suggest that the Gears add-ons increase skillcheck difficulty.
4) I had thought originally that the Jigsaw boxes should apply the status effects (except for Blinded, I think that stays with the RBTs). The more I'm thinking about it, the more I like your suggestion about Ambush applying these status effects instead. You can have Ambush or RBT related builds.
1) I'm a really big Saw fan, and I know it may sound creepy but I really mean big, I have a giant sawblade on my wall with a pig or boars head that has horsehair to look like the hair on the pig mask, real syringes with some form of liquid in them, a real razor, and human teeth hanging from it like in the 3rd movies poster (it was a gift someone made for me that was inspired by a Saw drawing I did). And I don't get or can't remember how the roar is a reference to the movie. And my point was that competent survivors still hear that blade unsheathing so they know when you commit, so the roar is just overkill to the stealth killer.
2) Traps already activate on Gen completion, and sometimes you get lucky and a gen gets completed as soon as you trap them. But most often I find that the traps get taken off before they even activate, or survivors just don't feel scared of the traps since they're specifically made to not be lethal. So that's why I think then automatically activating, or activating if you come within range of a jigsaw box. Even your idea of them trying to repair a gen activates the trap would help even a little since they wouldn't want to touch the Gen in the first place, which they shouldn't want to do with the trap on anyways since the trap should scare you imo.
3) exactly, they honestly give survivors so much power and chances to get the traps off or to decide when they activate, and even when I play survivor and get one I just kinda laugh knowing I'm not going to die and haven't yet, especially since for some reason I get to see my Traps timer when it's placed on the back of my head, but The Pig who works with and makes the Traps can't see your timer.
4) I honestly didn't think about the fact that opens the option for an Ambush build, I just remember seeing people trying to say she needs syringes that apply the effects and I took that one further. Since there's things like Heparin that stops blood clots (Hemorrhage), Methanol for Blindness (it turns into formic acid when in your system), cytotoxic antineoplastic drugs can make wounds take longer to heal (Mangled), and things as simple as mercury poisoning or heavy metal poisoning can cause fatigue (Exhaustion), why not let The Pig coat her blade to cause those effects.
Edit: Also thank you too for taking the time to read and give me your feedback, it's very much appreciated.

1) Roar removal: Sounds good, maybe just move it to the end of the charge bar instead of the start though
2) I don't think this is nescessary. The traps aren't supposed to be lethal they are a time waster and if the survivor gets it off before it's active they still wasted time taking it off, not any different to if they had waited for to activate then take it off.
3) Honestly the skillcheck addon should just get an entirely new effect. Sure why not on the great skill check change.
4) Sounds mostly good. Pig addons do need work, maybe not exactly your changes but the spirit of it sounds good
It's probably not going to happen though because the devs consider pig in a pretty good spot stats wise and so they'd rather address killers in worse spots.
1) That's why I said at the least move it to the end of the charge so Survivors don't just immediately know you're there and start running.
2) I am saying that should be implemented as a way to force survivors to get the trap off since it'll already be active. Yes it would increase the lethality a little, but overall it would or at least should pressure the survivors to prioritize getting the trap off instead of doing other things until it activates, or going and doing a gen themselves to make it activate. So it should still keep the Traps as a time waster, but just put more pressure on the survivors and give them less power over her RBT's.
3) Yes I could see them adding other things that affect the Jigsaw Boxes to replace the skillcheck add-ons. I was just trying to think of a way to keep them with the skillchecks, and Doctor and perks like Huntress's Lullaby change the skillchecks.
4) Yes she definitely needs an add-on rework, and in my own personal opinion the status effects on a jigsaw box are the worst ones, so I figured making them attached to the Ambush would be a way to make them more effective while also giving the Ambush more use. And the Rule Set add-on just completely negates what the trap was supposed to accomplish, and if they leave the traps activation tied to gen completion, then having that add-on completely stop them from seeing jigsaw boxes or put a range limit would help tremendously with survivors getting them off with no pressure.
Thank you for reading it all and giving your own feedback though. Sadly yes they most likely won't touch Pig for awhile, and I have no issue with them focusing on weaker killers. I just hope at some point that give The Pig some attention and focus on her issues, especially with how much of her things contradict what she's supposed to do or be.

My favorites to play are either spirit and deathslinger. Spirit is fun overall and you get rewarded from being unpredictable, and deathslinger's power is so fun to use.
To verse on the other hand is nurse and pig. Nurse is really fun to go against since you're rewarded for being unpredictable, and I like a bit of a challenge.
On pig, simple. I like to boop the snoot
To play as: The Pig and Legion, I'm a major saw fan, and I wanted to have an original and licensed main. So Pig obviously for licensed, and I just overall love her gameplay and seeing survivors reactions, and for Legion I loved the concept of a group, and for some reason a group of teenagers is more interesting then 4 adults going around and killing people imo. People say both those killers are weak, but I never have an issue killing who I want or getting a 4k if I feel like it.
To go against: I'd still have to say Pig and Legion, since I barely ever run into people playing them, and I get to see how they play compared to me and evaluate their gameplay. It's also just easier to go against them since I know what they can do and all the little tricks to look out for.

Do you play DBD with a goal in mind? Did you change it since you started playing?
When i started DBD i wanted to reach Rank 1. After that i wanted a good build for survivor and on every killer. Then all perks for one survivor and all killer. Now im trying win streaks with killer.
I have fun with the game, but i like to see progress. I dont even like the grind, but im a completionist and it annoys me. So i would like to hear what you are doing and maybe i find something, before im dumb enough to start doing the trophies.
I mainly just play for fun, however I do have to set small goals for myself to achieve. I used to play on PC but my PC died back in 2017 and so I finally got the game again in 2019 but for Xbox and have been slowly working my way up.
My goals I've set is to have one original and one licensed main for both the Survivor and Killer roles, and get those up to prestige 3 level 50 and get the perks that I need for those characters, as well as any achievement related to that character or their map.
For killers I main The Pig and The Legion, and have gotten them both P3 lv 50 with all their achievements done
And for Survivors I only main Detective Tapp right now as I sadly haven't unlocked Jeff to main them both, but Tapp is P2 Lv 43 with all his achievements.
The only perks I still need imo are Pop, Undying, and Self Care.
Small goals help keep me playing this game I've noticed.

That wouldn't fall under Naming & Shaming - you might not agree with everything that Scorpionz says and that's fine, he's a very good friend of mine and I don't agree with him all of the time either, because everyone has their own opinions. The Naming & Shaming rule would apply is when it reflects negatively on a person - so we get things like "X person camped and tunnelled me" - it's unnecessary and pretty much all forums have a name/shame rule in place.
Ok, thank you for clarifying, I am fairly new to any sort of forums and honestly only have started going to the forums and got Twitter cause of Dead by Daylight and wanting to actually be up to date and somewhat apart of the community outside of just playing in the game. And I agree any shaming for how someone plays a game is unnecessary.
Again, thanks for clarifying and have a nice day and/or night.

-Spirit is fun to play and verse, has limited but existing counterplay, and takes more skill than "hur de dur just have good headphones"
-Ruin/Undying overrated af. It's way too inconsistent, and I've had most of my games where Undying breaks first.
-Legion isn't easy and is way stronger than people give her credit for.
-The Hillbilly is boring to verse and annoying to play.
-NOED is not as strong as people say
-Knock Out is actually really strong
-Spine Chill is the best survivor perk in the game (other than perks like DS and Unbreakable that cover up your mistakes, but ######### those perks)
-DS should be base kit and not have a timer, but disables whenever you progress the game at all (like healing or doing gens)
-Unbreakable is the unhealthiest survivor perk in the game, and shouldn't exist
-Freddy isn't brain dead easy, but he isn't as difficult as any other killer
-Demo is the worst killer in the game
-Stealth is a viable tactic, but immersion is for potatoes
-Gideon Meat Plant (The Game) is a very fun map for both sides
-Old Nurse was balanced
-Being bullied by toxic SWF is OK as long as they don't do generators
-Finishing a generator in the killer's face, especially with Adrenaline or DS, is punishable by malicious tunnel and facecamp
-DSing the killer even if they didn't tunnel is punishable by malicious tunnel and facecamp.
-Trapper players are the worst players, in relation to both their skill and how scummy they play. Only exception is Otzdarva, don't @ me.
-Rotten Fields is 10x worse than Haddonfield
Based on what I've seen mine would be
- Revert Legion back to 2.5.0, or at least give them their Deep Wound depletion on hit, 3 second fatigue, and not losing their power on miss or losing 50% on hit back, along with deep wounds being reverted to going down while running.
- Pig RBT's should activate when put on, and I know the key being in one box is realistic, I'd rather have a 25% chance to get it off on the first boxes and a 100% on the final box if you haven't gotten it off yet. She shouldn't do a stock lion roar when ambushing. (All of those may not be unpopular but Pig is so I dunno)
- The Game is an extremely fun map to play on no matter the role. Same with Ormond.
- Myers is just completely overrated and his power is essentially movie plot.
- Doctor shouldn't be able to spam shock therapy to prevent you from using vaults and pallets, or perks like dead hard. In short, his shock has far too many effects for how often he can use it.
- The most poorly designed character lore/character wise is the partially disabled Irish immigrant cowboy, Deathslinger
- "Nea is the entity" is an annoying, overused joke.

Because it's against forum rules to "name and shame" people. Usually when people get told off for this it's not their intention to shame people but since literally my one sole purpose of naming this person is to shame them (and I'm not taking a ban to give him free advertisement) I unfortunately cannot.
Ahhh ok, well glad I didn't just say "is it Scorpionz cause I don't agree with his mentality about things" since that'd probably be shaming him.
And to any Mod that reads this, please know I said he's a good person and that I just don't agree with part of his mentality, which is a normal human thing and I meant no shame towards him by saying I don't agree with part of his mentality or thought process.

I say revert them to 2.5.0, cause that was before they nerfed them, and that was the buff that didn't make the remainder of your power deplete when you manually stop it, and reduced the blurriness during frenzy.

I dont know, I usually remember the position in the UI of the Survivor instead of names, when it comes to similar outfits. So I know that I hooked Survivor Number 2, so that person might have DS, even if Survivor Number 3 and Number 4 look the same. This is easier than names IMO.
"And if you have a killer that recognizes your gamertag and wants to bring a Mori specifically for you, then you must have done something to make them feel that way about you. And like I said, just block them at that point, every toxic player I've met on a game I block, and I've never had an issue with that blocked player again."
Eh. Not really. There is a small German Streamer (10 viewers max) who morid me every game. Basically switched to Nurse (when it was still possible) and equipped a Mori just for me. I dont even know that guy, but I watched the VODs, he really does not seem to like me and according to him, I insulted him in his Twitch Chat. Which is either a complete different person he is talking about or a blatant lie. Its not like it is bothering me TOO much, at one point he camped me with Insidious on Billy and got 5k BPs in total, so that is more amusing to me than actually escaping the game. And since Dedicated Servers, I dont run into this person anymore anyway.
But stuff like that should not be possible.
When it comes to blocking, you were just lucky. There is no way to block people not appearing in your game anymore.
I must be really lucky then cause in multiple different games people tell me blocking doesn't stop people. But in all those games if I block someone, I never see them again. Maybe cause I'm on Xbox or just console in general? Cause there's literally an option for me to block crossplay players, and when I choose that option for a fellow Xbox player it immediately takes me to their account to block them completely.
As for your ######### luck with that streamer,I think seeing the killers name too would've helped you. You could've dodged him if you wanted, not cause he's good at the game (if he even is), but because you know he's got a vendetta against you.

Can confirm he commonly brings moris. One time he first hook moried me, with an active head trap on, with 2 instant dcs. I love him. He's such a skillful killer and I wish I could name him.
Trust me if I could see the killer's name I'd load into the game only to "crash" and cancel the match for him, so maybe it's best if he does remain nameless because I am petty and will capitalise on this in a heartbeat.
Why can't you name them? The only streamer that's a Pig player I know it's Scorpionz and I've only tuned into a few of their streams, they don't seem like a bad person, but some of his mentality about things I dislike. But either way, whatever streamer it is I'd say deserves whatever petty thing you'd do to them, since they were just as petty and brought a Mori to ruin your game. I know two wrongs don't make a right but revenge sure does feel alright.

I was put in a streaner's mori list because I escaped the trial.
He tunneled and camped everyone.
He moried me before.
When they tried to call him out, he banned all 3 of them. I said "gg" and got banned.
I'm on the mori list because I escaped. He said so himself. How the ######### is that something I did wrong?
That's him being pathetic, and honestly if you could see the killers gamertag and you saw that streamer you could've then left the lobby just like killers can when they see a streamer in theirs. I never said you had to do something bad to make them want to kill you, but if you gave them a rough match against you then that's most likely why (not toxic just to clarify, but just a general hard time against you). And blocking every gamertag in lobby would only mean that he would've tunneled and camped you when he saw your name pop up when he checked, instead of using the Mori. But honestly someone that pathetic might be commonly bringing Mori's to the trials.
So ,Yes, hiding Gamertags would lower the amount of people bringing Mori's for a specific person, but if they already feel so deeply about you that they bring a Mori by seeing your gamertag, then hiding your gamertag until entering the match would only change how they're going to BM you over.

gameplay-wise there is no reason to see the names. As said, you would be able to check that once the game starts anyway. But it would help to reduce stuff like bringing a Mori for a specific Survivor, just for reasons.
" if you really don't want to play with someone again just block them."
Blocking does not prevent players from being in your matches. Otherwise, players would simply block good players to have easier games in the future.
I've used the blocking feature plenty of times but only against people that are toxic, if I get my ass handed to me then oh well onto next game but I get everyone wouldn't be like that.
Also I did just tell you a gameplay reason why it should show you in the lobby the name, so killer can match survivor up to their name, especially if you run into a SWF or just a group of randoms who all equip the same outfit. Which I don't know about you but it happens to me a lot, and most of the time I just assume they're having fun matching and having some room to goof around.
And if you have a killer that recognizes your gamertag and wants to bring a Mori specifically for you, then you must have done something to make them feel that way about you. And like I said, just block them at that point, every toxic player I've met on a game I block, and I've never had an issue with that blocked player again.

Just a thought, but would anyone else like to see the killer's gamertag like we can the survivors? Why do we only see 4 players when they're are 5? The killer icon could be in the right hand lower corner and have his/her ID there, too, so they're all present.
Also, I've gotta say, the best part of matchmaking is the names used by survivors. They're absolutely the greatest. I enjoy seeing what crazy/ outlandish names they can come out with.
I'd honestly love that, and always wondered why we couldn't, I know we aren't supposed to know who the killer is but why not the person playing killer?
@Aven_Fallen said:
All names and profiles should be removed. Neither the Killer nor the Survivors should get those information before the game.
Why? If you can just press the menu button and see the players and which character they are as soon as you enter the match, why not just let them see it before. It helps killers get the name matched to the character so they can keep track of things easier, especially if everyone wears the same exact outfit but bring different items. And if your reason is cause of lobby dodging then my counterargument is that if you really don't want to play with someone again just block them.
@Pulsar said:
It's already possible on Xbox, and let me tell you, people WILL dodge you if they don't like how you play lol
How do you do that? I've had one person message me to farm but never knew how they knew I was the killer, so I farmed thinking they were some cheater or using exploits. Is it just the recently played with area that gives it away?

First one wont work in solo Q, also if two survivors are left in the map. Killer will have to waste 2 minutes for the last survivor to die by ECG.
Second one only if killer has to spend 15 secs to close the hatch because otherwise killer would hold the game hostage ...
Third one is useless perks already exist that do the same, also why would i bring an item to look for other items faster ...
His second idea isn't bad and the killer couldn't hold the game hostage then. The hatch already opens when there is one survivor left, and when closed the survivor can leave through the exit gates. This just makes it harder to open the hatch with a key and dip, and doesn't let you just escape a chase and leave teammates behind if you find the closed hatch, or let you escape hatch easily right after killer closes it. The killer can't hold the game hostage by not letting you escape the hatch cause that means you can be doing gens or finding the exit gate. And if you're honestly found after the killer closes the hatch and you haven't powered the gate and left, then the killer deserves that kill. When I play survivor and get hatch it never feels like an earned escape and that's cause it's just another second chance for survivors.
-
@AcePlundersStuff said:
Having survivors escape through the hatch is very frustrating as killer, and does not feel earned at all when you pull it off as survivor. It is also pretty annoying for the survivor who brings the key because the killer is probably going to tunnel the hell out of them. I heard some rumours about keys getting a rework, how would you guys balance them?
To me it's pretty simple, even with the Achievement to get all 4 survivors out through the hatch.
The broken keys can stay the same since they can't open hatch and are pretty useless.
The Purple and Irridescent should only let one or two people leave, and they could add a Irridescent key add-on to let the rest of the party go through. Kind of like how you have to have certain add-ons to get the Nurse's blink and grab achievement.

While I get it would mess with queue times a little, I also feel it could improve the overall health of the game. Some people just play super toxic when others just want to play a good competitive round and it kinda stinks when you get repeatedly matched with the same toxic person over and over again.
Can't you just block them? I'm on Xbox and Everytime I find ######### or toxic players I block them and have never had to deal with them again.
-
@Yords said:
I am not sure if this has been discussed before, but I have noticed that survivors can change their character in a lobby and a killer can't, at least not anymore. Why is this a thing? A whole SWF squad could have a loadout ready with like Object of obsession or powerful items and switch to it last second when all killers can do is watch. This may not be huge, but I thought that this was worth sharing.
It's been discussed, and the main thing you'll hear is "The survivors are just skins" which is true to an extent.
For me that extent is they have to have 100% of perks on all survivors, with all of them being the same rank, and you must have at least one of each item/add-on/offering that you have on one survivor, on all the others.
That is the only scenario that survivors are essentially skins, because otherwise all the survivors have different sizes, sounds, and cosmetics that could help you hide better or worse depending on who you are. Also most people don't have everything on every survivor, so you will have at least one of your survivors have better items or perks than one of your others.
For that reason survivors aren't just skins, cause skins should only change the visuals, and if one of your survivors is decked out and the other isn't then they aren't just skins at that point.
So they should lock survivor selection too In my opinion cause unless someone can meet those requirements then you'll have one survivor character who has better perks or items than your other survivors.
Extra: Also for people who want to say this is fair since survivors can't see the killer, or if they lock survivors then they should let survivors see the killer. You have to remember this is a horror-themed game, and in horror movies the killer typically stalks the survivors and sees what they have/who they are before they kill or attack anyone and reveal themselves in the first place.
-
Well if we're talking about our best moment overall then mine has to be during one of my Killer matches on my main, The Pig. I didn't hook anyone and all I did was put my RBT's on people and then leave them, cause I set a challenge for myself to get 4 head pops in a single match. It took me many matches but after a few hours I finally did it, they gen rushed the hell out of me but by the time the last two finished the final gen the others had their traps popped and the 3rd person just made it to the 4th box to get theirs off but died. And the final person almost got hatch but I closed it in their face and they tried to run out the exit gate with their active trap, which popped their head too.
If we're talking about our favorite thing seeing new players do, then for me it's watching survivors with active RBT's die trying to leave the exit gate, or maybe even survivors with inactive RBT's dying to the end game collapse trying to find the correct box.

I main Tapp when I play survivor, and I can't speak for every Tapp main but I'm the kind of player that'll drop whatever I'm doing to rush across the map and either save the hooked person or get in a chase and loop the killer to the other side of the map. If I'm not healing, unhooking, or being chased then I'll go finish gens by myself or break totems. If the killer gives me an inch I usually take a mile from them, even if it means crawling that mile with Tenacity.
My build is typically Borrowed Time, Tenacity, Kindred, and either Spine Chill (I'm a Killer Main, specifically a Pig main so stealth killers I keep in mind), Dead Hard, or We're Gonna Live Forever.

I mean that if the survivors could fight back which killers could they defeat? They could just picked up things off the floor and try to fight. Add in just a little realism in terms of injuries but certain killers who are supernatural get to keep their powers. Also, the fact that the survivors and killers have been stuck in a never ending loop so they know of each other and have nothing to lose.
My thoughts without really thinking too hard or remembering all the killers:
I think the survivors have no chance against nurse (she's an undead ghost), spirit (same reason as the nurse), Freddie (supernatural), Pyramid Head...
They could probably take out ghostface, death slinger, legion (if it's a 1 vs 4), trapper.
Well with the Entity's buffs to the killers then not even a 4v1 would harm a single killer. Killers as small as Susie can break pallets and doors with relative ease, and pick up the biggest survivors with one hand and have no issue. So disarming them is now not an option due to their grip, and a punch alone will break survivors bones disabling some and impaling others. It would be a slaughterfest.
However if they didn't have the entity steroids then this is my opinion:
Trapper- 4 dead: Trapper already has hooks and metal bits stuck in him so logically DS shouldn't work, he would tank hits, slap survivors with active traps, his weapon, and break them nonetheless.
Wraith- 1 dead at least: with his invisibility one will already get killed before they realize he's there, after that it's a very slim chance, but I could see the other 3 winning.
Hillbilly- 4 dead: he's the killer we get enduring from so he's guaranteed to tank hits. Chainsaw and mallet in the hands of a nerve dead killer, they're done.
Nurse- 4 dead: she's still a spiritual entity that rips itself through space and time.
Hag- 4 dead: She killed a whole cannibal camp, 4 survivors is a snack to her.
Doctor- 4 dead: he subjected himself to his own torture so he's just insane and can't feel, or enjoys pain.
Huntress- 4 dead: she killed German soldiers who had guns, 4 survivors with less training and worse weapons will be nothing.
Pig- Potentially 0 Dead: She is just human, give her no prep time and stick together then they could potentially not have anyone die.
Spirit- 4 dead: it's a spiritual entity that can manifest itself at will and physically harm you. Plus the damage that's already done shows DS logically shouldn't work either so she would be fairly pain resistant at the least.
Legion- potentially 0 Dead: if it's a 1v4 then they may be able to get away with no one getting injuried or killed. But this is them vs us, so Legion is technically a group. So a 4v4 then no. Chimeric Horde Legion is a no either.
Plague- 4 dead: her Mori shows her basic purge is toxic enough to kill. And touching her alone may be infectious.
Oni- 4 Dead: he's a hulking, extremely trained, monstrosity. He fought a dozen trained samurai and still won. So it'd be a massacre.
Pyramid Head-4 dead: he's already an entity made specifically to punish through pain. So he'll continue to do so.
Blight- 4 dead: without entity restrictions I see him as a stronger being, the speed alone he slams into Survivors at would demolish them now, and I'm certain the serum gave him plenty of other buffs similar to what the entity does.
Deathslinger-potentially 0 Dead: if they played their cards right then no one could be injuried or dead, he's a disabled Irish cowboy.
Demogorgon-4 dead: without entity restrictions it's free to throw everyone around and munch as many heads as it wants.
Ghost Face- potentially 0 Dead: he's just a single man with a knife, they could get away without anyone dying or being injuried if they play their cards right.
Clown- potentially 0 Dead: he's a fat guy with more than likely a lot of health problems.
Nightmare-4 dead: a literal dream demon that would easily outsmart and outskill the Survivors and kill them.
Cannibal- potentially 0 Dead: very slim 0 will die, but I see it being a possibility since he is just a single cannibal.
Shape-4 dead: but only cause of horror movie plot logic. Otherwise he should've been dead first movie. I hate this guy.
Edit: Autocorrect errors

So I think oni would probably look the coolest with a blighted style but deathslinger 😑No I don't think a blighted style would look cool on him but it would be intesting don't get me wrong but I don't think he's the right killer to have a blighted skin but if the survivor who was in the cursed legacy pack got a skin maybe oni would to but I just can't see deathslinger getting a blighted style so those are my thoughts tell me yours
My favorite one is the Legion one, but I know whatever they do for Oni will be amazing.
However I have no idea what they'd do for Deathslinger, I think he should and will most likely get one too, and it'll more than likely involve chains, something to do with his messed up leg, and maybe his messed up jaws and dead eyes.

Is it another bug or is it gonna stay like that? Its annoying that i cant spend bloodpoints on other characters while queueing or in a lobby. And sometimes i just change my mind about who i want to play, but sorry now you cant do that, time to search for a match again.
That is a feature they can't just turn off and on, it requires a patch. They implemented it cause they're working on MMR which will place you in matches based on your skill, so they don't want you to play a killer you have a low skill level with and then switch to a higher skilled one.
And since the killer lock requires a patch to change they're just leaving it in while they work on the MMR, because turning MMR on and off works without patching anything.

So coincidentally, both of my most wholesome moments happened on Lery's Hospital.
First one was a while ago. Was going against a Wraith and was having a really close game. At one point he was chasing me... Then the LB/L1 on my controller died. I couldn't run, only walk. Anyways, he hits me once, then just kinda looks at me and follows. Like he figured out that something was wrong. He downs me, then leaves me alone to find other people. I get healed back to injured, survivor runs off, but there is still gens to do. I jump on a gen and CANNOT hit a skillcheck. It was before you could rebind keys on controller. I keep blowing it up, he comes over, looks at me again and leaves. Sacrifices everyone except me, just watching the entire time. Walk my ass to the exit gate, leave, then send him a message afterwards explaining what happened and we both had a good laugh about it.
Second one was very recent. Was going against a Legion and it was one of those circumstances where they really wanted the 4k. You could tell. Anyways, during a chase, he downs me as I drop a pallet and he gets stuck in it. Survivor comes over and heals me to injured and runs off. I decided that I would hate to be in his position because of glitch and could have even understood if he DCed, so before he could, approached him to see if could hit me, no go, so I vault the pallet a couple of times and he was freed! Yay! He nods his head and goes off to find other survivors. He'll smack me every now and again for his frenzy. Gets down to him and I, had a challenge to escape though the gate so I take him to the door and point, nods head again, we go on a hatch hunt and we both find it, I nod my head, he closes it, I open gate and escape. He was on either PC or a different console, really wish we could have talked afterwards.
Hey M8, dunno if it was you, but I was playing legion cause I had bought them and was having fun. I wear the darker Joey cosmetic.
However I did get stuck in a pallet and a survivor came over to free me via vaulting. After that I decided to just run around and stab people with my feral frenzy too still get points but otherwise decided to let everyone free cause if it had been another group of survivors they would've left me there. I'm on Xbox, and I was just looking through the forums and saw your story and it made me think back to that game I had. I dunno if that was you all. But if it was then thank you and good luck in your trials, M8.
Edit: I'm pretty sure I let everyone free, but i can't remember it to a T, part of me feels like I already killed someone before getting stuck though. I just remembered your part about you being the last one. So I don't think we had the same but funny enough similar trials. Either way good luck in your future trials.

Your skill as survivor doesn't depend on perks. Or at least it shouldn't.
Let's see this example:
I have 2.9k hrs combined on killer and survivor. And approx 65% of this is on survivor. I rarely play Quentin (Daily only), so I don't have all the perks I want. I play with what I got. My usual setup is this: Iron Will, Spine Chill, DS and Kindred, whereas Spine Chill is my must have. Let's say I only have Kindred (1), Off the Record (3), We'll Make It (1) and maybe Unbreakable (1). I will have a harder time since I'm not used to this setup mostly (i.e. that I am loud while injured), but this doesn't hinder my ability to loop a jungle gym. This depends on my skill as player, not on perks itself. Sure having DH or not can make a huge difference, but if you are good you can compensate this.
Now think the poor rank 16 killer who would go against me because I chose Quentin. He would not have a great time against me.
I hope you get what I'm saying.
On the other hand: Each killer has an unique power. With some you will be great (Freddy for me), but with others you might struggle or havn't enough practise with (i.e. Billy, Nurse, Hag, Oni), so you get matched to appropiate opponents.
I don't know what happens to matchmaking atm, but I also had some low rank killers in my lobby (rank 1 survivor vs rank 10 or even rank 16). i can truely understand your frustration. matchmaking has been broken for a long time now.
I understand what you're saying, but even so, just as looping, and chase knowledge passes onto each survivor you play, it does for pretty much all the killers too. Just instead of having a toolbox, flashlight, map, etc to help them with their objective, each killer gets a different skills that you do have to learn.
And if the point of the new MMR is to let people play their killers and get them leveled up by going against a survivor of that killers skill, then not locking the survivors defeats that purpose. Cause unless they lock them or make survivors skill percentage the same as their highest skilled survivor, they could just use a survivor they never play to get a person with a killer they've never played, and then switch to a person with amazing perks. Yes you don't need perks to stay alive, however the difference with and without them is a lot. So someone trying to find low skill matches as a killer they haven't played should be given the chance to actually take use of what the mmr system is supposed to do. Which is give the killer a lower skill match so they can learn, a survivor character with low skill wouldn't always have those helpful perks and items right off the bat, so they would have to make do. Same handicap the killer would have trying to learn their new ability. And if they manage to just click with that killer and slaughter with them, then their MMR with them would go up really fast and they would get thrown into those matches where they have to deal with all the items and perks, and they at least understand their character enough to deal with those things. And it would also mean you'd just have to stock up on bloodpoints to level the low skill character and then play as them. Cause you only really need to play one character at all to get everything for everyone.
It also doesn't let people spend their bloodpoints while they wait for a match, which is how a lot of people tend to spend their time.
Like I said though, I don't mind it too much but I see where it causes issues. If both were locked then it would give killers a chance to get poor geared survivors, and survivors the chance to get poor geared killers, and they both will help each other progress and level those low characters. Which sounds pretty nice since I could get a lot of the killers up and learn them, and not just play my piggy all the time to earn everyones bloodpoints cause it's just a pain sometimes to deal with all those decked kits when you are learning or just new to the game.

I think killers shouldn’t be able to see you at all 😂 why should they get to see you but you can’t see them? They get to see what items you bring in but we don’t know they’re bringing in an ebony Mori. I deserve the right to know that before I go into a match so if I disagree with that I can play somewhere else before I get locked in to a match with a camping Mori’ing killer. 🤷♂️ That’s not fun for me. I think survivors should get equal treatment pre game
The killer sees the survivors because the whole premise of the game is that everyone is just pawns in the entity's game. And the survivors are stuck at a campfire until a killer comes and starts the entity's trial, so obviously before they all get scattered from the campfire the killer could watch them and see what they have (like in a lot of horror movies where the killer watches it victim from the Shadow before attacking). Even if you could see the killer in the background hiding behind a tree, you wouldn't be able to see their offering so your ebony Mori point is pointless.
However I honestly never payed attention to peoples names, I hate ending chases and games fast. I only ever tunnel or camp a survivor if they start being toxic to me or to their fellow survivors; body blocking them, saving them on a hook without borrowed life or etc, trying to point their friends out. And I have never had a killer multiple times that I know of, so I didn't know people had a problem with survivors tags showing.
But that seems like a minor enough change that it shouldn't hurt anything at all and would just help honestly. The only thing I would miss is being able to ask people if they just want to farm points during the events with cake or extra bloodpoints.

this is because the new matchmaking system considers your rating/skill with every killer seperately. if you are good with nurse (=high rating), you will get survivors with higher rating against you. but if you rarely play wraith or don't do well with him (= low rating) you will get more inexperienced opponents who also have a low rating. if the killer could switch the character after entering the lobby this could be abused by selecting a killer with low rating to get easy opponents and then switching to your main killer to get an easy match.
survivors on the other hand are 95% the same with the only difference in size and sounds.
I understand that a toxic last minute switch is cancer. the only thing i could tell you is to deal with it. get a last sec key? think ahead, kill this one fast and prepare for swf. last sec switch to someone with a flashlight? prepare for flashlight saves or clicky clicking.
some people just used the time to level another character and switch last sec to their main survivor with no bad intention.
I don't think that's how the new matchmaking system works. I literally just got Oni and I'm rank 16 killer (cause I haven't played in awhile, p3 Pig main though lol), and got thrown into a lobby of fully decked all red rank swf group that had medkits with insta-heals, and toolboxes that had the iridescent cog add-ons, within 10seconds of queing
I don't really mind the change where we can't switch our killer though. It just means you have to commit to a killer when you search for a match. I play the game pretty care-free so I don't mind people bringing keys or anything, since I don't care about any unwritten rules people make I will occasionally bring a Mori when I feel like it. It's just a game and I wish more people would play it casually, I actually like being nice with the survivors and just farming points with the last one or two I leave alive.
Edit: I now saw your comment to someone else stating it hasn't been implemented yet. However if they are doing that they should make it the same for survivors since add-ons and perks still aren't shared between survivor characters, which essentially is their gear.
Cause if they only applied it to killer then a survivor could just use a low rank to get into the match and then switch to the survivor they have decked out and that would defeat the purpose of the change. And wouldn't be fair to a killer since the killer can't switch to deal with the higher leveled/geared group. Just cause they can't see the killer at the start doesn't mean they should be able to abuse a new matchmaking system to give them easy killers and bloodpoints for some higher level character.
However implementing that to both parties would be a good way for people to get their lower ranking survivors and killers up without having to worry about one person just being de-ranked and have a completely decked load-out

I don't get why they should've cared if you Disconnected honestly, everytime someone disconnects I just laugh knowing I'm going to get a quiting bonus for the ones that Disconnected.
I've only ever messaged one person with a message and it was a tunneler and a camper. At first we got into an argument cause he thought he was so good, and then I explained to him I wasn't mad he camped, I was mad because doing those things only shows that you don't care about survivors or your own bloodpoints. Which once I explained that they actually agreed and apologized, and I apologized if I came off aggressive in anyway.
