It would be one thing to piss off a bunch of DbD players by adding Springtrap to the game, but to tease Hellraiser and then pull a bait and switch to add Springtrap would cause severe backlash for BHVR.

Stop preseting your questionable opinions as facts. The only place where fnaf pisses dbd community off are these forums, with it's limited and close-minded demographics. Anywhere else you will massive support for FNaF chapter being added into the game, confirmed by polls and general attitude. FNaF chapter will only piss off a handful of people like yourself or those easily influenced by local aggressive approach. A lot of people will be ecstatic, most will just treat it as they were treating previous chapters.

Also, they didn't tease hellraiser. We don't even have second R to complete HELLRAISE_ after last teaser. The "flower" doesn't look like the one from the movie, not even one bit. Everything else points towards FNaF, but let's just assume those clues are adamant proof and pretend to get triggered if they end up being red herrings despite them acting exactly like ones.

When has behaviour ever been obvious like this before with their clues?

With the teasers for Bubba, Pig, Freddy and Myers.

    Myers's teaser: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mCK-Ecigz68

    Bubba's teaser: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YiGsh8RjAt0

    Freddy's teaser: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oy8zb6pZTWI

Pig's teaser (probably the most obvious): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yGDS9XYdKnc

Pretty old, huh? They obviously moved to a more subtle approach these last few years. Also, pig teaser wasn't obvious. It was showing it's saw, sure, but we were still going crazy over who's going to be the killer. And Amanda came out pretty unexpected.

  • Good job only reading the first sentense, bud. Nothing else to expect from FNaF hating kids though :P

You literally have 11 visits to the forums. I have over 2,000. I can assure you, the FNaF threads are a lot more common than you think.

I don't actually "hate" FNaF. I've actually played two of the games. They weren't great but not loathe-worthy.

Hoping you respect my wishes and stop @ me, like I asked of you in the other thread.

You do realise you're shooting yourself in a foot, right? Your "flex" shows you're not visiting these forums, you live on them. Most people(even active users like myself) don't. I guess i'd be annoyed by things like FNaF thread popping up once a month too if I spent 20 hours of my day browsing general for some reason 😂

And i'll @ you as much as I want as long as you participate in discussions by leaving messages, what kind of delirious request is that? :D

And this attitude is entirely why people are so against FNaF in DbD.

Not spamming the forum with 7 billion threads about the same thing is just common courtesy.

I was visiting forums quite frequently this year, evenings mostly. Honestly don't remember seeing a single FNaF thread, and surely not in amounts that would actually bother normal people. You have to actively hate FNaF itself, not it's community, to seethe like you do at every mention. Which is alright, just don't try to disguise it as something else. It's expected during current time period for 2-3 threads pop up a day, and it's not even that much - most discussions keep themselves to long threads. But you stick your toxic nose into those as well, which kinda annihilates your current argument. Hoping people like you would chill out and let others have their fun, good night.

    Read the room.

    Use the search feature. PLEASE.

There's already hundreds of threads JUST like this one. With ALL of the same reasonings; we've heard it ALL before. Hundreds of times.

These threads NEVER end well and just cause fighting. The constant reiterating of old, tired points and rehashing the same arguments is EXACTLY why people don't want FNaF in DbD.

If you already heard all those reasonings before, then why is everytime fnaf is mentioned there's a dozen of neckbeards jumping in screaming "FNaF is trash for kids"? Maybe they read those reasonings, disagreed with them and just express their opinion in that... manner? Well, where are the counter posts to op? It's just "Stop FNaF, so many FNaF, angy becouse I'm obligated to visit every topic I don't like", which is silly at most.

P.S. To the op - thank you. I'm not a huge FNaF fan myself, but it was a good read and I appreciate it.

We cant confirm its spring trap. But also cant debunk hell raiser. And your probably right its probably hell raiser with its 8.7m views

But fnaf isint that far off one yt channel of fnaf has 1.7m subs

While I agree we can't be sure until last moment, I don't quite get your comparison. 8m views where? And why yt subs?

I mean, I understand you're trying to compare franchises popularity, probably to answer the question which one would make more MONEH. But it's pretty obvious FNaF is a definite winner here. It's fresh, it's extremely popular, it comes from a gaming world. Hellraiser is just a meh movie franchise by today's standards, sure it's iconic among film buffs, but it stopped being massively popular somewhere between '05-'10 period, with fanbase not only stopping it's growth but starting to die out. And how many of these movie fans ended up being gamers? Not trying to trigger anyone of course, I absolutely respect hellraiser fans, but facts are facts. Though I don't even think financial concerns matter at this point, with Cote wanting Hellraiser in the game purely because he seems to be a fan himself, so again - why those comparrisons?

or... they have a weird feeling about it.

because that's a normal thing that happens with everyone... about pretty much anything.

which is why a "bad omen" is a concept that exists on all cultures

In that case, I think some people might have doubts becouse bhvr seemingly dumped hellraiser clues like it's garbage, while taking an extremely subtle approach with all the other releases last few years, and even in the first half of this very release. Combine it with weirdness like pin not being a pin, but a nail; flower looking similar, but at the same time very different from what it was in a movie; HELLRAISE_ still missing an R for some reason, and you still got some room for speculation. Which in my opinion is great, but for some reason it makes folks really aggressive, though that's probably just their own problems bursting out in a form of internet media toxicity.

  • @Clevite said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2428375#Comment_2428375

It's possible I read it wrong, but as I stated before, it doesn't change my opinion. A 4 v 1 is still better than a 3v1, and not worth the value of one gen completed in early game.

That's the thing though - your so-called opinion is just some basic statement that's barely related to what's being argued in the topic. OP is saying: "Solo queue teammates, stop killing yourself immediatly after getting hooked becouse you don't see 3 people dropping everything they're doing to run for the save", you jump in stating "4v1 is easier for survivors to win than 3v1, so survivors should unhook other survivors that got hooked by a killer". Like, what the hell? And you keep arguing that as well, can you stop for a second and take a look from an observer perspective at the how ridiculous you're being right now?

  • @Razorbeam said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2428338#Comment_2428338

Sounds like you're in bad sbmm bracket, just keep practicing and you'll get there, in my MMR it's normally the guy with borrowed time who comes for the save while the others keep gen pressure, I'm assuming you're running kindred so your solo q team mates have the Intel to make the best decisions when you're on the hook ?.

Nice attempt bud, haven't played since a few weeks before that thing even went live. I have 3k hours, and my understanding of both killer and survivor gameplay probably beats yours by a mile. Also yes, I always have kindred equipped when solo queueing unless attempting a challenge that requires specific build. But the reason I use it is personal information gain, like which direction killer went after hooking, other survivors position, but most importantly killer's movement around the hook when proxying if i'm the one going for the save. It makes my teammates not flock to the hook when i'm on it maybe 15% of the time(red ranks btw) becouse apparently their peanut brain has the same mindset as those guys that immediatly jumped to bashing op in this topic, but I can understand that - good players usually play together, which leaves the worst of the worst to be dumped into my solo queue lobbies as "teammates".

  • @Razorbeam said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2427836#Comment_2427836

If you were so skilled you would understand that having a survivor on death hook at 4gen is far more strategically dangerous than a gen regressing from 80%. If you're 3v1 at 3 gen it's gg for the killer 90% of the time.

Okay, he actually said that unironically. Guess that's why all of my solo queue games are automatically over as soon as I get hooked, since all 3 survivors immediatly stop any gen pressure and just hang around the hook until I die. Never understood what's going on in their minds, thanks for shedding some light.

  • @NoOneKnowsNova said:

I don't get some of the replies here...the survivor has 60 seconds in each phase (iirc) while getting a gen from 80% to 100% takes 16 seconds, which isnt taking into account items, perks or if someone else is on the generator with you.

So why can't the hooked survivor wait then? OP is just doing what's efficient in this situation.

I'm pretty shocked myself, but I guess we got a good demonstration of forum demographics.

You think you're joking, but we're getting something on that level, maybe even lower. Another killer serving a purpose of week-long hype(less hype than nemesis though, much-much less), only to be forgotten shorty after and not positively contribute to long-term game's health.

No. It was clearly never FNaF.

And also I have been playing DbD since launch and can say with certainty that there has ABSOLUTELY been FNaF speculation at every chapter launch (other than maybe the first couple). There was never any credible evidence that FNaF was going to be the next chapter, it's confirmation bias.

So you're comparing mild speculation to a massive FNaF outrage that happened during current puzzle week? That should probably make you stop and think for a second that perhaps there was actual evidence to spark all that, but nah, just parrot old "fnaf community bad" mantra. I've been playing since 2017, so I can confirm myself you're blatantly lying about HEAVY fnaf speculation EVERY chapter launch, but you can keep believing whatever bullsh*t you want

Because 1987 is the year that Hellraiser released...?

I can say with certainty that the developers did not do this to spite FNaF fans.

Why are you parroting that? The argument is that irl movie release date has no place being in that teaser, but it's still there for some reason? How many horror icons we have in the game now, like 5? How many of them cared about showing original movie release date at any point of their existance and pre-existance in dbd?

You're for sure doing yourself a disservice by not checking out at least the first two films. They're different than a lot of the horror films of the 80's with some of the best mythology/lore you'll find in any horror franchise.

They're not, I'm sorry. You just watched them as a kid and they formed your taste, doesn't change the fact that hellraiser is known for being pretty garbo even by 80's horrors standards.

the tv literally immitates a scene from the hell raiser movie, they LITERALLY spelt HELLRAISE, like?

Got a question for you - if tv literally immitates a scene already, then why did they bother to put 1987 in there? Do we need to know real-life movie air date for some reason? Did we ever need to know with previous releases? Those teasers are supposed to show the world from product universe standpoint, movie release date has no place being there for any other reason than to mock FNaF fans. Is that behaviour marketing skills, just pissing off a huge fan base for the lulz? You're free to think so, I suppose

  • Well, they just announced their choice, it's hellraiser. What's funny is that they decided to put 1987 on TV for absolutely no purpose other than to spite FNaF fans. I have no idea why they had to clash 2 franchises with each other and upset one of the community's(FNaF being the bigger one as well), but it is what it is. Hopefully it backfires on them in some manner and they'll never even consider doing something like that again.

  • IS THAT THE BITE OF '87???

  • @Lliart said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/272697/explain-to-me-why-fnaf-is-so-demanded

Honestly I'd much rather have Springtrap due to feeling that Pinhead conceptually isn't... ######### what's a way to say this with respect... I guess inspired?

While I know that Springtrap is the more recent of the two properties, I feel that he'd be ripe for cosmetics with the different animatronic suites, gameplay styles that evoke that spooky Weeping Angel vibe possibly. Maybe even a rushdown mechanic that deals in stealth like a combo of pig and blight!

Pinhead on the otherhand feels like he'd be derivative in terms of powers, evoking either Pyramid head powers that would involve suffering and hooks or Deathslinger who reels people in. While I will concede that his mori would be sick af with tearing folks apart with hooks, I don't feel that Pinhead has much to him aside from pedigree for being an older horror icon. This isn't even mentioning the legal turmoil that the Hellraiser IP is going through atm that is similar to Friday the 13th.

Just to clarify, I'm not knocking folks who want Pinhead in the game, I'd be happy for y'all for getting a property you've been waiting for so long to get in. I'm just saying that I feel like Pinhead does not have much to him in terms of a playable character in Dead by Daylight. Not saying that he wouldn't, just saying that I don't see as much potential in him. After all, while he is the master of pleasure and pain, he is still a follower of Slaanesh in a way and I've always been a Tzeench and Khorne kinda guy lol.

EDIT/SIDE THOUGHT/OFF-TOPIC: Did you know that Warhammer came out before Hellraiser? I could've sworn it was the other way around lol

Not so sure about tearing people apart with hooks, ever saw leatherface mori? :D

A point about the target board image, i haven't seen it mentioned anywhere in this capacity or what I'm about to describe it as, but it's possibly more of a message of the community nailing/missing the mark with the clues provided.

Haha, that would actually pretty cool. But the nail is on the side, not even on anywhere on the board, means we completely missed with Springtrap then 😂

Dose Twitter have a thing of 1 character is too short for post

I have no idea, but the post before that was a pure retweet, nothing typed. Again - if we assume rt is correct, then it can't be hellraiser becouse of t, and it can't be "I am still here" becouse of second r. See no reason to care

  • @onemind said:

True personally if it was me I wouldn't of put it because of how lazy I would of been but maybe they were required

They weren't required, the post before that was a retweet as well, it didn't have rt in it. But honestly, at this point rt is of little relevance, since it deconfirms both hellraiser and springtrap.

  • Pointing at red herring and saying it's red herring is not exactly how red herrings work though, won't you agree? :)

Oh you're counting Hell as singular letters despite it being given in a specific order, ok.

Bud, just stop for a second a think about how obvious hell and pin clues were, just put out there in the bright light and pretty much appearing to confirm pinhead identity. If there could ever be a red herring, that's exactly what it would look like, why are you buying it so easily?

  • @Seanzu said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2425638#Comment_2425638

    What?

You deny that it could be HellRaiser because it's missing an R, but think it could be "I am still here" despite it missing 7 letters? PTB is most likely next week, and if anything the next thing that'll happen is a trailer.

We can only wait and see but I feel like, unless they're completely misleading us for no reason (let's not forget Hellraiser also has a puzzle box rooted in it's story, this was a 'puzzle'") the mental gymnastics people are going through is pretty far reaching.

    What?

The post is pure speculation, what denying are you even talking about? And where did you get 7 letters from when it's literally just M and T? Please try reading the posts in the future instead of "reading" them.

  • Let's all look at the situation from a logical standpoint:

    * The only thing pointing to Pinhead is letters spelling "HELL RAISE"(i'll touch on a pin later), which might sure sound like a strong and unbrekable argument to some, but that's pretty much it. Everything else points so heavily to FNaF it's not even funny - the same famous Scott's manner of reveal with hidden or repeating letters, as well as spectograms; ace being "trapped" in "mechanical cage"; maps chosen for teasers are the ones that got burnt - asylum and chapel. Yes, it's not only the chapel you hell priesters. Anyone who played FNaF at all, and part 6 especially, realises how integral this fact is.

    * Letters still spell "I am still here", which is a catch-phrase springtrap was REVEALED with, and we're suspiciously only missing another R to complete "Hellraiser"

    * The "pin" on a wheel is actually not a pin at all, it's a nail. The head is just too big. Which leads me to my main point.

Remind me the last time we were sure of killer's identity because of the hints given by developers? Yea, you can't. Becouse that's their thing, and they're very proud of hiding who the killer is until they're right here, playable on ptb. There was even an anniversary quote regarding and confirming that. It's actually crazy to even consider the possibility that these people, after deciding to do a little puzzle, would just ruin it completely by throwing a very visible "pin" on the picture, followed by spectogram spelling "Hell" right after. It would just not be their style to release pinhead after that.

You know what they love doing though? Giant red herrings. They're probably wheezing right now by how they made everyone moan "Hellraiser confirmed" by just throwing a random nail on some wood to completely divert attention of who the killer is really gonna be. And i'll tell you why they're doing it. The main reason is the nature of Springtrap and the phrase - "I am still here". Do you guys see what they might be going for? It's unironically brilliant:

Step 1: Heavily hint FNaF and Springtrap, make numerous references to Scott to remove any doubt community might have.

Step 2: ALMOST completely destroy the possibility of FNaF being the next chapter by adding a letter that doesn't fit into Springtrap's name, while simultaneously adding some of the most obvious evidence in the dumbest way hinting at another popular character, again making community have 0 doubt it's NOT gonna be FNaF.

Step 3: Grand reveal, Springtrap grinning at a viewer with a phrase "I am still here". Just wow. It's genius, it's devilish, community is ecstatic by the quality of the whole thing and praises behaviour.

That's the ideal scenario though, and it might just be hellraiser despite the sloppy presentation. Behaviour is not really known for being fun or smart, so let's wait and see

  • The amount of people trying to deny FNaF popularity on these forums is insane, literally using every cope tactic imaginable no matter how dumb it is, like "It's just a minority" or "It's just bots pushing the agenda"(actually LOL'd on that one). People linked polls already, and there is also the fact that everything regarding dbd fnaf chapter in the media gets lots of attention. What surprises me the most though is have baseless the hate is, like there is literally no reason to hate fnaf that's not been debunked and laughed at, and people still take it as their life's mission to keep parroting garbage arguments trying to create an illusion of springtrap chapter being unwanted. Shame on you for that, and god have mercy on your souls

  • @onemind said:

The people at its pin heIIraiser confirmed would like to talk 80% of them are excited

Well let's see here, it's been pretty much confirmed Pinhead for 2 days now. Just went to reddit, and what do you know - it's all Springtrap. Only found one thread showing appreciation of pinhead being added, it has an astonishing number of 100 likes. Your topic is the only hellraiser discussion trying to happen, "Hellraiser fans" appeared recently and it's already drowning. Facts are facts, your beloved bald guy is not even close to the level of actual icons, like Jason or Myers, and at this point in history people care a thousand times more about a goddamn Springtrap than him. See you next chapter

  • There's almost no hype going for him though. It's mostly just people upset about missing out on Springtrap, which is understandable. Power is going to be boring, no innate potential=just put some variation of ranged crap in dbd devs mind(ph, nemesis). Hopefully they're not starting a trend of adding miltiple third-rate horror "icons" in a row and do some fun original killers in between to offer some meaningful mechanics exploration and learning, like Blight, becouse this game is really starting to feel stagnating in terms of gameplay.

Imagine this but it's dbd. I don't think fnaf fits in dbd. It's clearly marketed for kids. I get enough salt at the end of matches. Don't need the 10 year old warriors in chat as well.

I get the appeal of the story. If Fnaf comes in then it will attract kids as well. Game is not made for kids.

Wooow there, chief. Rolling in with an original and totally-not-debunked-before opinion of fnaf being childish, even using some crappy fan-made image that has no relation to actual games to prove his point. Very strong.

You're a bit late though - despite heavily hinting fnaf in a clever and non-obvious way, they just rolled out an image with a literal pinhead needle on it. A weaker license of course, but we'll have what we'll be having. Happy for people who enjoy that character, thread closed!

nah i dont see it, what im saying is coming off of PH and silent hill is a pretty massive high. Blight is a fan favorite. twins and trickster suck but are not bland or uninspired, they are actually unique and i applaud the team for consistently adding to the roster. Then theres no denying the legacy of RE that translates to Nemesis as well. Which added a completely brand new concept into the game with the ai zombies. Bland and uninspired is not what this last year was. Lazy is what it was more like, but they were also updating the game and rebalancing it. Mixed bag but i think you are kind of being hyperbolic

A respectable take, with me being hyperbolic being quite likely. But again, I see a lot of blank statements here that are supposed to support some strong opinions like "Nemesis is a great addition to dbd and is not boring or bland at all becouse ai zombies, and ai never been in the game before". I wrote a post regarding all that at the beggining of page 2, not going into much detail there but at least read it if you plan to challenge my opinions. Regarding R.P.D., people hate it becouse this map manages to combine every aspect that makes a dbd map a bad dbd map into one giant mess. And that's pretty objective, unlike saying map is good and people are just dumb for not liking it.

“Springtrap is so likely to break a year-old trend of bland, uninspired killers that barely fit into dbd at all” are you serious? We got two of the most iconic horror gaming franchises added into dbd within the last year.

Blank statement. Pyramid head is last year, and nemesis fits precisely into my definition. RE chapter reeks of being added becouse it's big franchise and not something devs wanted in the game themselves. They didn't choose a character who has potential for fun power to be in dbd, just went with boring and predictable nemesis for cheap hype. Deprived 3 killers of their own maps to make that RPD atrocity, again for cheap hype. Well, that hype is gone, and now we have a killer from resident evil, an iconic horror franchise, who people barely use becouse of how utterly unenjoyable he is. The few times I actually see nemesis they're using anniversary cake, probably the only reason people still play him. Oh, and there are a few fist-punching fanatics that make themselves be known I guess.

Should I be happy about wasted potential, in your opinion? Allow me to be not

Their use of camp makes sense when you know it's used to describe things that are over the top/outrageous. Camp is actual a very common term. Met Gala theme few years ago was camp. Camp is used alot to describe horror movies because how over the top they go. Evil Dead is considered campy. Toxic Avenger is considered campy. This site lists the upcoming fnaf movie as campy. 😂

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/GDK5Y3RHR3MD/20210811-092407-jpg.jpg

Thank you, that is a very good explanation and probably what the should have done in the beggining if they presumed I was not aware of the meaning. You could say chucky is campy, that would even make sense and people still want him. And what about the original Freddy Krueger? Boy was he campy, good thing we've got a remake one, community was so happy about it. But anyway - thank you for being non-toxic and reasonable.

You said: "How is defining camp as adjective and linking a dictionary page for some reason(which is, no doubt, a very well-perceived method of communicating on the internet) makes this phrase something other than insane ramblings?"

Someone who knew that the word "camp" was an adjective wouldn't claim that someone using it as such was making "insane ramblings" would they?

"How is defining camp as adjective" means "Why are you even doing that? it's obvious. You might as well say camp is a word". And that's... pretty goddamn obvious in the context and even without it. But thank your for your invaluable input

Camp is an adjective and has been one for over a century. That's why I linked you to the online dictionary, so you could read it and see for yourself (or just do a little research into how, say, the original Star Trek series is described; hint, they use the adjective "camp" a lot).

The sentence may be a little awkward, but it's perfectly understandable, if you know what the adjective "camp" means.

Why are you trying to make an argument based purely on strawman of me not understanding the meaning of the sentence? I get what he's saying my guy, and I literally pointed out that all the implications you can deduct from that brainfart are completely fatuous. That's the simple truth. Guy said it's his "stance" and i'm bad for not thinking it to be the smartest, which is understandable on some delirious level, so i'm just moving on. Please stop your hilarious adjective crusade and move on as well

Well yeah I can yee were you come from and agree with the thought of most of the characters being bland gameplay wise. But I think just from their theme and optics that the first two fall exactly in line with old killer like billy, nurse or wraith and yeah I exclude licensed killer from this kind of discussion because of the limitation set (and yes nemesis power is pathetic, his punch is at the same time feeling wrong given the reaction of the survivor to the weight it implies and cool in this aspect when they backflip after a face punch).

And yeah to the argument about trickster but i think the same will happen to Springtrap. It would be a fan service killer for that asked for it and I can't think for the life of me of an interesting killer power for them. Also behaviour would have toake Springtrap way more gory to fit into DBD than the few version i have seen of the character. I simply think bright colors like trickster or a bright yellow Springtrap don't really fit into DBD. And yes I don't like many of the "funny" (bunny, Santa, chicken and so on) cosmetics or skins but not only in DBD, but also in siege or league of legends -.-

Oh I always thought that, but that's the problem. Those first killers were made by basically an indie-studio at the time, they have decent concepts but they look really, really cheap(I think hag is the worst for me in that department though). Compare them to later killers, and especially to killers that directly preceded the blight-to trickster-era - Oni and Deathslinger. Now those are great character designs, and it's something you should expect from a company that grown so much since 2016 and is practically swimming in revenue. A bit silly to let them get away with lazy designs, becouse those killers look a bit better than wraith or billy.

I feel like you might have gotten things mixed-up here, kinda easy to do on these forums becouse of all the baseless misinformation and identically baseless hate for the franchise going around. Again, i'm not the biggest fan, played a few games, only completed third one because it was the easiest, did not care for community and it's products. Most of fnaf's left a mark of being high-suspense, incredibly well-designed and original games with great audio work(which is like 70% of horror for me). But on these forums fnaf is apparently "all jumpscares kiddie game", which just leaves me speechless to say the least. Also people care about fnaf community for some reason? I mean, lots of psychopaths love horror movies, should we delete myers becouse it would attract them to the game? Makes sense, yep.

Also springtrap is not childish, funny, or bright. He is rotten green, has guts sticking out, and the most discomforting face expression. Perfect fit for dbd, imho.

I'm sorry I have to tell you that, but phrase "Fnaf would not fit into dbd becouse game is too high-camp for my liking" makes zero sense, is ridiculous, and looks like something a kid who's just learning words would type out. I'm suprised you actually "meant" something by it.

Any meaning that you could possibly extract from it is ridiculous and nonsensical, why would someone even bother to defend it is beyond me. More posts=better life mindset maybe?

They literally said they never intended people to camp and frown upon it, despite allowing it as a " strategy "

So quit trying to twist things to suit your view.

and you know I mean " camp " in that sentence as in something that is " high-camp " and not in regards to camping in game right?

And yes, camping is not only intended, but even natural for the game type. You have to either be delusional or entitled survivor-only gamer to disagree with that. Even if devs said what you say they said(which isn't likely btw), they only did that to appease majority with sweet words, becouse let me tell you - if they didn't intend for camping to exist, it wouldn't be there after 5 years of game's existance

I just hope it's not fnaf... I think I'm only person who sees entire fnaf thing as unfunny joke

You're definetely not alone at parroting bad opinion that makes zero sense. Did you guys get it from an infuencer or something? What's with all the seething about fnaf?

  • @burt0r said:

At this point I simply hope that it will be a FNAF chapter to stop all this whining pro and con FNAF. Every new chapter and teaser there comes one part of the community screaming mutiny for it to be FNAF and another against.

To the op, which uninspired killers that don't fit into DBD would you mean? Just an honest question to your opinion, since I don't think that any of the non licensed except trickster are questionable from my point of view.

(To trickster, he is too bright and colorful for me, not taking any cosmetics into consideration and is the only real humanlike not disformed and too real killer. All other are obvious products of fiction while he could be a real person.)

Twins and blight fit dbd, but are incredibly boring characters that could have been so much more. Twins theme was originally supposed to be a mother and unborn or "taken" baby, which would be metal as hell, but they chickened out and had to scrap that for overdone siamese twins vibe instead. We even have an abomination skin for hag, using exact same theme, which ruined initial impressions for the twins even more. Not even gonna talk about powers here, but you know.

Blight's is beloved right now becouse he is just so fun to play(my current main as well). But the design is bland and atrocious on almost every level, starting from visuals(skins kinda fixed that a bit) to supposed "alchemist" power, which is "press button to 230% movespeed". His release felt like non-release, nobody was really playing him(true for twins and trickster as well), nobody was talking about him. Us growing on him half a year later is not gonna change that fact.

Trickster is fan-service, if you aren't into sexualising virtual murderers, there is nothing fun or interesting about him. Almost feels like devs are ashamed of him with how much they were pushing to talk about trickster's supposed great reception in anniversary quotes. Again, not even talking about gameplay here, but I was actually taken aback by the blandness of his power on the reveal(was same for blight, but at least blight's power is bland becouse they were tring to make it fun).

RE chapter, now that generated a ton of hype and brought a lot of people into the game. But it would do that regardless of chapter quality. Nemesis is, again, the most bland choice they could've made, his power is the most uninspired so far, and it feels so... wrong. "You just made a strong physical impact on survivor, but he didn't get injured couse.. you know, you gotta infect them with T-virus first, doesn't that make sense? Yea, that virus that turns people into zombies? It's blue goo now for some reason. And also it doesn't really affect survivors, it just let's you... physically impact them 🤣". Like it legit feels like a bad joke or an 8yo killer concept, and the worst part - there is nothing fun about it. For any side. It doesn't get any attention, nor does it deserve it. They even tried to go for "whipping" kink out of desperation, didn't seem to do any good. Funny zombie moments is all we got out of it. Yea, for me that's just shameful work. Survivors are great though. Map is literally the worst in the game, but whatever.

Of course, those are just my grumpy veteran observations, but you asked for it :) Hopefully you now understand why I have so much hope for Springtrap to bring this game back on track

Nothing against you, but I hope you're uninstalling.

Getting tunneled in a pizzaria and camped by an animatronic is just a new low I don't hope to encounter.

Also I just think personally that FNAF is just TOO high a level of CAMP in horror for DbD , personally.

Wow, seems like you really don't like intended dbd gameplay mechanics, maybe you are the who should uninstall?

Too high level of camp... that's definetely something

I gave you the mindset I've lived by as well as some counter tips from someone who has played Wraith for a bit since 2018. I didn't go into quite as much detail but I think I did "A pretty good job", If you don't want to listen to my advice and shrug it off, that's you. By going immediately to bad faith "Wow you say pay attention to killer strats, guess you could say the same about Spirit XDXD" something tells me you've already projected quite a bit onto me. (As if keeping track of what a player does so you can mindgame em isn't the core of the game)

He's a killer that bypasses the terror radius and has great ease in getting around the map, but in a chase he's still a standard killer. The lack of TR notification is certainly a bother but overcomeable, the Wraith still has to beat you in a chase and while a surprise uncloak may give him the first hit, its up to both of you if that leads to a down or not. Better a dozen wraiths than a single Deathslinger who ALSO has a small terror radius with the addition of a power that utterly breaks the gameplay loop the game is built on

Calling wraith an m1 killer is wrong. Out of all my wraith games this week i've encountered only one wraith that actually chased without cloaking. He got destroyed. If you base your advices on on a non-existant, almost mythical playstyle, then please don't act all defensive when people call them stupid

  • @BlueFang said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2356183#Comment_2356183

The way you beat Wraith is you have to pay attention and don't get complacent you don't have the luxury of the terror radius to tell you he's near so you need to pay attention to what's around you have an exit strategy in mind, keep track of the UI so you know what he's up to and most importantly

Don't panic. What gets people with Wraith is what gets people with Myers and Ghostface he comes out of nowhere and messes up whatever plan you had in mind if you keep cool once he's uncloaked and used up that lunge he's nothing but a normal M1 killer.

Don't rely on the terror radius to do all of the heavy lifting, keep alert, keep focused, pay attention to the killer's strategy. Does he like to block pallets, Does he like to uncloak on a particular side, How long does he keep a chase going before cloaking and bothering someone else, what addons is he using? The thing about wraith is it is easy to tell what addons he has on as they affect his bell noise, movement speed, and breaking animation if you figure that out you've got a way into his mind

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2354809#Comment_2354809

    Always has been

Yep, same old "just be alert", also known as just bait it out, and some meaningless general quotes like "pay attention to killer's strategy"(actually had a good laugh with this one, thank you). So I guess we known know the counterplay to spirit - just pay attention to her strategy :D

Good try, but wraith's current state is undefendable, sad but true.

  • Can anyone of the peeps flooding wraith topics with comments like "Wraith is fine, survivors just need braincells or something" explain how are you actually supposed to play against him? I don't think that's ever been done, and as a killer main who decided to play survivor for challenges in the last few days, i've been encountering that game design travesty in about third of my games. I've seen 4(4!!!) spirits and more than 30 wraiths. Surely if there was some adequate way to counter him on most maps, there wouldn't be so goddamn many wraith gamers, would there?

Completely removing all the restrictions that his power had was bad, just admit it. His power doesn't even need a stealth component anymore, it's just that good. Compare it to poor ghostface's power, it's laughable how much that guy pays for stealth privilege compared to "but he was always so weak, devs plesse make him one of the worst killers to play against " bingy boy.

  • They will fix her. Unlike that cop girl for cheryl, Claire is too hyped up to stay in that state.

  • Also if you get stunned as blight, you can't enter rush until you attack the air :D Fun all around
